cat s50 suddenly turn of and shows Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 - General Questions and Answers

Hi I have a cat s50 qualcomm msm8926 snapdragon 400, the phone was turned off suddenly and shows Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, I have read several posts on the forum about unbrick, but none seem to work, I think the mistake is the wrong rom.
I'm using qfil.
Where I can get the stock rom for this device?
I have also a phone running ok, I can make a backup of that rom?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Do a Google search for:
"Qhsusb dloader 9008 unbrick"
You'll find many different guides for fixing this.

I did that but, it seems that i need a few files, including a .mbn file, and i dont know how to convert the zipped file or its contents intro a format readable for qfil, can you help me with that, because im lost at that part of how to convert, or where to download the unbrick files for the MSM8926

You need to use your model number to search for the files you need. If there is more than one stock firmware for your device then you'll also need to use the build number of the stock firmware that you had before you tried modifying the device.
If you don't know the build number of what you had then you can go by the android version you had: i.e. kit kat, lollipop, marshmallow, etc.

Dude i have tried but theres absolutely nothing
---------- Post added at 07:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 AM ----------
There are just 2 roms found, and both look the same at the inside, there is no rawprogram.xml or etc to use with qfil, and unbricking files for the MSM8926 doesnt seem to even exist, and if i use the only rawprogram.xml that worked for me, it turns out that that the other 2 qfil needed files doesnt work

All I can say is either keep searching or find someone with your same model number and stock firmware and see if they have anything to help you.

Ok, and is there something else i can do with the zipped firmware, maybe pushing it through adb?

If the zipped file contains the various partition .img's then yes you can extract them and possibly push them via adb or flash them via fastboot if you have fastboot. Resaca the possibility first to be sure you don't cause a worse issue.

Yup, there are a few .img files, including boot.img and splash.img. I have read that the EDL mode doesnt let me push the firmware, because that mode is only readable by qfil, but theres a supposed way to orded adb to work with EDL, so it wold detect the phone, and let me push the firmware, do you know something about that?

Unfortunately, no, I'm not familiar with that as I've never gotten myself in a mess with any of my devices, I'm too careful and dig absolutely every piece of information about a device and what I'm modifying before I ever take the first step. I also research every possible thing that could go wrong and how to correct it before I do anything.
It's not as simple as JUST looking for what is available or what can be done on a device, it's also about looking for things like stock firmware differences. Things can change from stock version to stock version, i.e. what can be done coming from "this" firmware can be different when coming from "that" firmware even on the same device. Also things like locked or unlocked bootloader can effect what can be modified and how to do it.

Oh, ok dude, thx

I have same issue. Is there any method to fix ?

I try too search full firmware and nothing, anyone can help with firmware? Anything that I found is just update rom that not have any loader or xml to can flash fully or fix the bootloader.

[Q] help with flashing ICS ....PLEASE?

I am stuck on the following screen. my device is P920 and am Gingerbread firmware and want to upgrade to ICS so i can install ICS ROMS.... OMAP4430 won't pop up AT ALL and I am reallly stuck
someone, anyone, PLEASE help :/

Sign onto pc as admin. You will need to delete LG stuff on your pc before starting. Turn off antivirus temporarily to extract some files; Defender in particular may delete certain driver files and not tell you.
thanks.
But after I did something stupid :/
I flashed another ROM and now i have i get a security error and i can't even use flash tool :/
HELP PLEASE.
it's my sisters phone. she would kill me haha
Just reflash firmware by LG Flash Tool. It will rewrite everything. What do you mean you can't use it?
---------- Post added at 12:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 AM ----------
Some ROMs require custom bootloader; normally the cause of security error.
---------- Post added at 12:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:05 AM ----------
You must be on ICS to flash that custom ROM; you can't just install it over GB. That is what the tutorial is for...to install ICS and then the ROM.
Multiple posts are due to xda app being goofy. Can't edit a post. Dunno what is up.
I connect it by pulling battery and holding volume up and it just keeps connecting and disconnecting. It did this when I used your guide but everything turned out OK following your thread you sent me earlier. But I decided to try a different ROM (I guess just because I could) and then I got security error. -_- when I try lgflashtool is just says ready and doesn't pick up my device. Tried restarting PC ect.

AHA I think the main big problem is that the LGE mobile USB serial port is not detected/installed! Anyway to get this installed cause I can't boot up the phone?

Phone Dead, Need Assistance

Hello everyone,
Yesterday I tries to root my H810 ATT LG G4 and messed up somewhere along the process. Now my phone does not turn on, show anything or do anything. When it is connected to the computer it shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB Qdloader 9008, so there might be some hope. I've looked all over for system images for the H810 variant and tried to use the PR version from teh mega thread, but no luck as it might be corrupt.
If anyone can provide any guidance, it is much appreciated, I am at a wall.

Do you know where I can find an intact stock Rom? I tried the PR version and tried extracting it but the KDZ extractor says it was corrupt.
Further, is it possible to find the HEX file to flash?
Thanks

Oppo R7sf with no fastboot mode, no recovery mode. Please Help :(

Please help me.
So I think I accidentally removed some bloatware when my phone still great.
When I restart the phone hope for a more speedy and light everyday use, it goes bootloop instead.
Here is My Oppo R7sf back then:
1. Already rooted via Oppo Tools, I downgraded the firmware to 151210 version.
2. Booloader not unlocked yet.
3. Cant boot into fastboot mode via buttons, and if I keep holding it = always bootloop, but if I stop pressing it = the logo stucks.
4. Cant boot to Recovery mode nor Hard Reset, and if I keep holding it = same bootloop logo, even I can tell its blinking every 2 seconds. and if I stop pressing it, the logo stucks.
So I was trying how to do fastboot mode via adb and command prompt, but when I type adb devices, it always says "device unauthorized", 12 hours and I have no idea how to get rid of these as far as I know we have to enable usb debugging first, but my phone cannot boot... so... is there any solutions?
Any feedbacks will be much appreciated. Thankyou for your kindness.
My guess is your phone is entering Qualcomms Emergency Download Mode. Try connecting your phone to an PC USB port and look for driver install attempts.

No it's not that simple.
The program utility uses headers to compare which phone is plugged it. It compares those headers with the headers of the phone plugged in.
There is no way to force the program utility to flash a different phone than the ones containing the headers it was shipped with.

Ok. For what I understand the process is quite similar to those I've see for MTK. A correct list of the memory and the right flasher.
I've analyzed the content of the directory and seems that the "key" is inside the flasher and a correct settings.xml and rawprogram0.xml.
The various MSMDownloadTool I've found until now can be grouped in : ver.1, ver.2.0 and ver.3.0 (the last one). Everyone of this version have a "range" work using various types of flasher (number.mbn). I belive that the 3.0 should be able to program qualcomm Smartphone of last generation.
However the last MiuiFlasher should be able program everything.
So the main problem is to find the Mbn flasher with Sahara support and right settings files.
I can't find the right flasher.
Maybe I can get a wrong way ... ... correct me for everything I've missed out

Yes that's correct. However there is a thread here somewhere in the R7Plus forum which is specifically for the R7PlusM and in there somewhere is a download link to the factory flasher you are looking for.
I know it because months ago I came across it and downloaded its, saw that it contains only Chinese based Oppo files and deleted it later on.
So I suggest you search that thread for what you need.

I have an R7S which has been bricked; details originally posted here but no reply yet.
Additionally to the quoted post above, if I attempt to go into recovery mode and plug the phone into my PC at the same time, the logo stays on but nothing else. I'm not sure if this is sitting in fastboot mode, however I still can't communicate via adb.
Could you please help me resurrect my phone.

[HardBrick][C2105]Brick after formating internal SD card

Hi, I got Xperia L c2105, unlocked bootloader, root, installed resurrectionremix, all fine. Then I wanted to resize partitions to get more space for apps. Obviously I did it wrong and now my phone can't get into fastboot or flashmode. When I connect it to PC and press power btn it shows as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5) in device manager. I understand I have to somehow flash kernel using some special tools for qualcomms, right? Could you guide me to something I need? I don't exactly know what to look for.

If you tampered with the partition and changed something you shouldn't then I don't think there is a fix cause each phone has a unique one
Im trying to fix it using this guide here. I agree with you that each phone needs unique files to do so. I hope somebody can help me find those files.
I guess I need :
prog_emmc_firehose_8974.mbn or something like this for xperia
rawprogram0.xml for xperia
patch0.xml for xperia
I don't know how to get them, where to find them and exactly what do they do. It's just something I come up with comparing various tutorials on how to unbrick qualcomms. The first one probably might be used for different phones but later two I think must be for xperia only.
Edit: Another approach might be to follow this tutorial to backup using friend's phone, and then restore it on my phone. But I don't know if it will work.

I am aware of that, yet still want to move unused space from internal memory (~4GB) to this memory where apps can reside (~1.5GB on fresh rom)
I got qcn but cant recover it because bricked phone is in download mode.
How to get needed files to flash it in this mode?
Can I extract them from this qcn?
If you find a way, tell me. I am also looking for one.
My device is recognised by PC as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in Device Manager in Windows 10.
Here are required drivers.
What next? Need to find a way to restore these paritions on Xperia L.
Latest QFIL app HERE.
Now we need those needed files...
And. I guess these can't be restored because that area is specific for every device. That's it I guess, HARD BRICK. The only way is to buy Xperia L motherboard from somewhere.
Still, though. mmcblk0.img
Still looking for idea what next
So far this is most helpful but its not a solution
At this point I have no idea what to do with this .img file
guys hardbrick means you are not gonna get it working unless you change the motherboard
you could find a second hand Xperia L for about 50 bucks! thats nothing!
Do you remember what you actually was doing while resizing? Was it via adb, can you post log? I did it other way: resized on the stock rom, then flashed resurrection, everything worked perfect. But bricked my baby while wiping data for other rom, don't know what's going on.
I switched mobos but still, for science purposes would like to know how to fix that. I used twrp to swap memory, but it ended up formatting it completely.
How to get hex file?
Hello I have the same problem.
The only way I have found is to use a programming box setool-3
If someone have solved please tell me how.
Did you find anything useful that really worked??

Changing the motherbord should be the last resort, dont you think?? And again a mobile is not truly bricked unless it's hardware is damaged...
Can you tell me where i can get the motherboard for minimal price in India. I have searched on net and there are no specific results. So please tell me where did you get that motherboard??

Yes that's what they told me as well. In the end I bought a new device with a little more than 100$.
If you find out tell me I wanna know too...
But it is not worth it to fix L. Even if you found new mobo for 50$ somehow, new device is double that price but much more worth.

The Exynos 7884, meanwhile, has the same setup as the Exynos 7885. Two Cortex-A72 cores are accompanied by six Cortex-A53 cores, but with a lower clock speed.

Look around online I think you can use adb

I obtained an inoperable device from a friend. He tried rooting, tried flashing, even tried to flash a factory binary thinking he could circumvent Straight Talk's ridiculous bootloader unlock policy, but in the end, he pretty much bricked it. It wouldn't boot into recovery, it wouldn't boot into download mode, and it was stuck in some sort of device test mode. I was able to find out that in that factory binary mode, Odin was able to recognize the device and connect to it. I flashed the BL, AP, CP, and CSC files in Odin 3.13 I think was the version. Now it's back to stock. On the plus side, doing so removed the Google account associated with the phone. I am trying to pull the 'boot.img' file so you can patch it.

Hey Trip do you have the firmware you flashed for the j7 crown? I sure could use it? pm me if you can
Not being able to root this thing is terrible. There are firmware files for it out on the Internet now, but I have not been able to make any progress with working on this thing.
