I'm also looking for this setting.
At about:config there is no such option.
I use Opera since years, but the exit confirmation falls on my nerves.

Lollipop Browser?

What browser is everyone using after the Lollipop upgrade? I was on Dolphin, but it's very laggy and no longer supports flash. Switched to Naked browser which is much smoother, but still no flash. Trying Puffin now, good flash, but a little laggy. Main reason for flash is almost no Facebook video will play without flash. Frustrating to have to turn on my PC to watch video.
Any other browser's any good?

If you get webpages that won't load after using adaway, that you feel shouldn't be blocked, you can add it to your whitelist.
Atlas
CM Browser. I had some issues with it on KK but it seems they fixed it now. It's fast, has a nice UI, a fullscreen mode, a home button and an exit button. That's pretty much everything I want/need.
I actively use adaway. It seems to block ads in apps and in Firefox and cm browser but not chrome.
Now I use lighting browser but I prefer aosp browser but it doesn't work on lollipop.
Try javelin. It blocks ads natively and has material aspects

There's a "get flash" guide thread in these n5 forums. Forget if its general or q&a.
I'm using Firefox. Is it just me or its actually slow compared to Chrome. It won't open links that readily load on Chrome.
I was a Firefox guy for the longest time, synced between my laptop, tablet and phone. But I've had it, I always put up with the lack of speed but it's just so frustrating. I can't believe reviews of Firefox when they call it fast.
I switched everything over to Chrome. The address bar isn't nearly as good as predicting what website you want compared to Firefox but it's much, much faster and I welcome that.

There's only one flash apk. Flash is unsupported on android. There will never be a new version again. We must always try to modify the ICS version.
Who knows if it will work on lollipop. I dont even think dolphin works on lollipop. Anyway, there is one apk and one guide only. If you know about it already. Then you know as much as everyone else

if you use data compression, adaway will not work. data compression makes chrome go through a different web server, thus, adaway does not block ads. opt out of compression in chrome and ads will be blocked.

Browsers and....authorizations???

Hello XDA!
I come with a question. Being a human trying to make out the most out of my device, i tried countless of different browsers. Dolphin, UC, CM, Firefox, you name it.
There's something bugging me, though... Why does some of these browser ask for "strange" permissions? Such as writing/reading contacts, or caller ID, and the such.
I'm having an hard time finding a decent browser. Some of them are quite there, but not there yet. I'm looking for a browser with video player and adblock, nothing out of the ordinary. I've had Dolphin for a long time, but they screwed up the Jetpack app.
The one i tested and liked is the UC browser, but I am really concerned about all the authorization it asks, and somewhere in the net it has been tested and found positive to data leakage (i know, i made it sound like a disease, but you get the drift )
How about you, fellow XDA peers? Which browser are you using, and why?

Best adblocker for non root?

I'm currently trying adguard but it seems to be using lots of battery even though it says its not. I want something that will block ads from everywhere (if possible) I dont really want to root but if i have to i will. I also tried Blockada but it seemed flaky and it kept restarting over and over. If any of you are having success with adguard, let me know what your settings are Thx

I use Blokada and it works great. Been using it for a couple of years now with no issues.
https://blokada.org/index.html
I use StevenBlack Unified and Goodbye Ads in it and it blocks well. I don't get any ads.
I tried Adguard but it slowed my connection way down and I could bare get stuff to load.
Try private dns under settings with adguard dns.

Netguard but the GitHub version that also sports .hosts
It's also a firewall.

Your messing with the DNS of your connection. Private DNS is all the way at the bottom like the poster above me mentioned.

wow thats so easy, why don't everyone just do this? any drawbacks? why even use apps or root when this is built in and you just need to enter a few words?
I don't really like dns app.
But for your games and app I use adguard. (I activate it manualy)
And for browser: samsung internet.
Really good browser, I tried all of them, this one is smart and good ideas.
But mostly, customs adblocks modules. (For me adblock plus is the best)

Yes I would like (I use firefox on pc) but firefox mobile is not really good on my opinion. At least for now.
And I tried some sites, and samsung blocked more ads than firefox.
Anyway, you should try firefox, samsung, opera.
I don't think it's a good idea to use a vpn app all day, and it don't really work on the browser too.
The best I had on my previous phone (LG G5) was adaway, but root is needed.. and I don't want to root this time.
I've been using adguard for a few weeks (in auto proxy mode since I need to connect to a VPN for work. Root required) and I love it. I haven't noticed any slow downs for loading web pages or battery drain. I used to use blokada which was ok but adguard, for me, is working much better.

How to autofill a custom text fields in a web page?

Hi,
There is a browser extension for PC like this one:
Autofill
The most popular autofill extension, boosting productivity since 2010.
chrome.google.com
That can auto fill text fields of your choosing and not just addresses or payments info. I am looking for a way to do that but on Android.
I'm not really too sure, but I know when I lightly searched running "browser extensions" on Android OS, while mobile Chrome won't run them, there are other browsers (don't ask me, I meant to research further which ones) that do implement extensions -- maybe you'll have some luck using those browsers that might have a similar/same extension....just an idea...
