I picked up this phone for $50 on bestbuy/amazon and am running out of space and sick of sysdata taking up 6gb. There are no guides that I could find for VM(LS770). It uses the same model as sprint and one other I think. Any help? I have minimal ADB and Fastboot along with android studio. It has 6.0, thats why I can't root.
To enable adoptable storage follow this XDA guide. That should solve your issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...ylo-boost-sprint-virgin-t3309709#post65185511

You can't use Odin for nexus one, cuz it's just for Samsung phones.

I know that, lol.. I've got a Nexus S waiting for me when I get back to the U.S. Just trying to understand this stuff before I get back and root it.

Attached file includes a guide to flash bootloader using Odin.
I have a radio problem with my Nexus S I9020T and I hope someone can help.
I installed Cyanmodgen 7 and after a couple of days I suddenly lost all cellular reception on the phone (data and voice). The phone identifies my SIM card handler, but it just can't find any available networks.
I went ahead and reinstalled I9020XXJK1- GRH78 firmware using Odin, but I still can't get any network connection.
After installing the new firmware, my phone now shows "CARRIER INFO - EUR" when I go into bootloader mode. The thing is, my Nexus S i9020T is a T-mobile version bought at best buy in New York.
Can anybody tell me if there are any negative effects if the carrier info shows EUR on a US phone?
Thanks!
Why are you gents even flashing with Odin, when you're much safer doing it with the Android SDK and fastboot?

Your phone has to be rooted to install any os on it. I could be wrong but my android device required it
Well to start your phone was never rooted so its not a "re-root" or anything like that. You just need to simply root your phone & install a custom recovery. Im sure you can find those instructions googling or here on xda
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Ide recommend a stock rom like cleanrom and I think there are a few on xda.
Until you get used to recovery and the other aspects of rooting. It gets a little complex when you first start down this path. Be careful and always follow all instructions.

I need a little guidance here please. There seems to be several different ways to root the LG G3, but a lot of them are for the International or T-Mobile unlocked G3's.
So for the ATT G3, which method do we use to Root ? Stump ?
And to install TWRP Recovery ? I read about something named Bump'd ?
My main concern is, I won't get this phone if it's ike the nightmare of ROM'ing like the old ATT Galaxy S4 was, with bizarre things like Safestrap, and or the old ATT HTC One X with .boot img files you needed to installed in fastboot, etc...ugh I want nothing to do with that :silly:
My last few phones, OnePlus One, and ATT HTC One M8, were a breeze and easy to root, and custom Recovery installed normally, no tricks or weird Bump's or Safestraps.
You didn't look hard enough

OK but for TWRP Recovery and flashing ROM's. Can I only flash ROM's that say "BUMP'd" in the title ? Can the ATT G3 only use those type pf ROM's ?

Two days ago I set off on a journey to root my phone . I Followed a couple guides and every site stated that you need Twrp. The thing is im running marshmallow on the D850 and any time I try to boot my phone in recovery I get "boot verification failed" and get a black screen with the notification flashing and this even prevents me from even doing a factory reset. From lurking the forums i've learned that the best way to fix is to flash back to an older version of android but most of these guides seen old and out dated and I cant seem to find a kdz for the D850 . Thank you and your help will be very much appreciated.
also the i installed the LG USB driver (to use the LG flash tool )but Ports (COM & LPT) are not shown in device manager mostly because the phone should be on so the drivers will be shown...
Really I read many many threads and I tried to follow it but no success
I could not find D850 kdz..

If you follow the general back to stock guide you'll see that the D850 is TOT method only. You'd download the tot file and use LGUP to flash since your on MM

You don't press power.
With the phone completely off hold down vol down while plugging in the USB cable that's connected to your computer.
If that doesn't do anything try vol up instead.

That's not the same error. That's showing its detecting the phone but it doesn't know what it is. Where you running MM 6.0 before? If not it's going to be easier to use the old kdz method.

Thanks hyelton.. It is OK now
I got rooted and I enabled wifi Hotspot
But I am wondering :
as I know if I upgrade to lollipop or Marshemllow I will lose root... So is the same will happen with wifi tethering(Hotspot )
I mean
WiFi tethering enabled in KitKat >>> upgrade from kitkat to lollipop or Marshemllow >>
Tethering will be stayed enabled or will be locked?

You cannot update while rooted. You'd have to unroot and updating would replace the tether changes. Also it seems like your not on AT&T which you cannot update anyway unless you have an AT&T sim.

1) There are numerous threads on how to do this, look in my signature for one of them
2) No, not data service but if you use the jio4call (Voice call over data app, might be off on the exact name) it will fail unless you rootcloak it
3) The current one, Squid kernel is super stable
4) No... Never accept an OTA update when rooted, it will softbrick and unless you know what to do it can be frustrating. You can always restore the pre-root backup (make one and keep it safe) or flash the full image if/when it becomes available.

Actually no, I can't... I haven't used Xposed for years and never will again. You will find It with Google as fast as I could.
TBH, I'd rather use a custom ROM with the options I want over Xposed any day.
