1) There are numerous threads on how to do this, look in my signature for one of them
2) No, not data service but if you use the jio4call (Voice call over data app, might be off on the exact name) it will fail unless you rootcloak it
3) The current one, Squid kernel is super stable
4) No... Never accept an OTA update when rooted, it will softbrick and unless you know what to do it can be frustrating. You can always restore the pre-root backup (make one and keep it safe) or flash the full image if/when it becomes available.

@acejavelin thx ace for reply , can u post me a link to xposed frame for this device?

Actually no, I can't... I haven't used Xposed for years and never will again. You will find It with Google as fast as I could.
TBH, I'd rather use a custom ROM with the options I want over Xposed any day.

Xposed Android Lollipop

Before the installation of the ota of android 5.0 I have to unistall xposed because it doesn't work with ART, right?

You'll have to uninstall xposed for any ota anyway regardless of lollipop
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
And flash stock recovery. And hopefully nothing else was altered in the system that could affect the Ota.
Personally, I'd backup my apps and just flash stock 4.4.4. As soon as I hear the Ota is out that is.
Tho really, I always wait a couple days and flash it with fastboot, clean. ?
Ok, so I have to unistall Xposed...
I rooted the device with Towelroot, so there isn't particular problems with the system? Or towelroot makes something different to system files unlike root?

Although why OTA anyway? If you're rooted with a custom recovery, you can just flash a pre-rooted L zip which will be available before the OTA Anyway

Haha exactly.
I have not my PC since last month, and probably I will have it in the first half of December, however I have not a custom recovery, only root with towelroot because, like I said, I have no PC

So use flashify to install twrp recovery and then you will have a way to flash. Doing any phone/tablet modding is highly dangerous if you don't have a computer available to you in case something messes up...

I just grab the files from google and flash my phone clean with fastboot. I'll Add the recovery and root a few days later (if available). I like my phone the way it is and don't like to change just for OTA.
Ok, I'll probably use flashify, thanks everybody

Am I correct in assuming that xposed does not work under lollipop because of art?
Can lollipop work using dalvik?
Correct. And no.

(A man of few words. ? )
That's a problem for me and might make me not accept the upgrade. I really like xposed and xgravity and my nexus 5 is fast enough.
I'm sure it won't be long til xposed will be updated.

I hope you're right but it may not be an easy task because of the different ways dalvik and art handle things.
Then we'll need to rely on custom roms for customizing.. Until xposed does work.

Kind of like we have done for the last X years? Before xposed ever existed?

Regarding Rooting Nexus 5 Running Lollipop

I have a confusion after going through various threads.
I have an unlocked bootloader and the device is running Lollipop and I would like to root it.
Should I use Nexus Root Toolkit or CF-Auto-Root.
I'm confused because somewhere I read that I need a custom Kernel, but I have stock Kernel.
I would no want to change my kernel as it will stop further OTA Updates which Google Rolls-Out, according to me. Please correct me on this too if I'm wrong.
I really need help. Thanks in advance
starting from stable supersu 2.35 modified kernel is NOT required.
stay away from auto tool
Flash latest SuperSU in recovery. Stock or custom doesn't matter.

[TUT] How to flash Xiaomi ROMs - Stable & Developer

Credits: NOT MINE
I'm scouring the net looking for tutorials, and resources for my Mom's 1 day old Xiaomi MI4i. However, my best resource - that would be XDA Forums; doesn't have much yet. So I would like to post these things here. I hope other MI4i user's would appreciate it.
How to flash Stable & Developer ROM for Xiaomi MI4i
Method 1: System Update
*** NOTE ***
Please wipe all data in Recovery mode if you want to update to a discontinuous ROM version, or downgrade to an older ROM version using MIUI full ROM pack.
Download the latest MIUI ROM file. Download here
There is no need to do it again if you’ve already downloaded the latest ROM file.
Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded in Step 1 into the folder ‘downloaded_rom’ in the internal storage of your device.
Launch ‘Updater' app on your device:
MIUI 6:Click the ‘…’ icon at the top-right corner, select ‘Choose update package’, and choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.
MIUI V5:Press the Menu button, select ‘Choose update package’, and choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.
NOTE: I am looking for an alternative on how I can include / embed the images on the post. - I'll update this post later when I get home.
After choosing the right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.

Can I downgrade to an older rom? I'm using 6.6.10 but not satisfied so can I downgrade 6.6.6 rom without rooting phone?

The same procedure as above should work, just now use the older rom file.

But my phone is not rooted. Rooting is not necessary for flashing?

If you use the method as described above, it should work as far as i know.
But to be honest, i don't use MIUI and have never had any need for updating MIUI.
@elot01 is correct @rajsonic66 instead of using the newer ROM, use the older ROM version. And no, root is not necessary to flash this ROM. As far as I known, root is never a requirement when flashing Official Firmwares a.k.a. ROM. I have a Sony Z and a Z1, I have never required root access to flash a full ROM for it.

Updating using MM OTA from rooted stock LP ROM

I'm running rooted LP stock with TWRP recovery. My phone downloaded the MM system update. Is it safe to use the automated MM install? I'm not worried about retaining root or custom recovery capabilities.
Thanks
It won't install with the custom recovery. You may as well just install the very latest ROM KDZ with LG UP, and then you'll be all up to date. I believe it's posted in one of the update threads
Sent from my LG-H901 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You will lose root if you use the latest kdz right?
Sent from my LG-H901 using XDA-Developers mobile app
You do lose root and will be completely stock. I haven't read enough of the other threads to know if the latest is actually rootable yet or not.... I've seen conflicting reports. It does appear that you will. hard brick if you try to roll back tho! It's a one way road

Check the original Android development thread. Only thing is, it will permanently break Samsung pay. So if you use that, do not flash twrp.
