I think this is allready known by people that look further then a Samsung phone and tech insiders. Some marketing by Honor wouldn`t hurt though to further the brand`s name and let the general public get to know Honor.
The most attractive thing is the look of the phone.
Many people use iphone to show off others.
If we get most attractive look to show off, who will miss it? Especially the Saffire blue color is of top notch.

I think its one of the best when It comes to Price to Quality Ratio, my brother is enjoying his Honor 8 alot and its a good package overall given its Price
This model is very good indeed. The only thing preventing it from getting a bigger acceptance is price: it´s too close to OP3 and Axon7 with better SOC´s (single thread and GPU), 4K screen and recording, OIS, sound, etc.
If Huawei manages to bring H8 down to 350€/£310 or lower, to what H7 was at time of launch, then it will make an absolute no-brainer. Until then there will be articles like "Honor 8, flagship killer?" because being in the same price range of mentioned flagship killers.
Honor 8 should be positioned as an upper middle class device as the specs indicate.

Every market is price sensitive for various reasons. But I guess Huawei will ride the novelty factor and make as much money as they can with H8.
When the novelty goes, in a couple of months we shall see either discount coupons or bundle promotions, at Vmall. Probably December like they did last year for H7.

Absolutely right, Axon7 an 1+3 do offer more for the same price, plus they also have custom ROMs unlike honor 8
Hell Mi5 regular offers more than H8 at 100$ lower pricing.
But it's not available in the US (officially)

Depends on your preference. Personally I wouldn't sacrifice software stability, better quality of construction, better customer support, better camera, expandable storage and better network support of Huawei in favour of a faster Mi5.

I don't prefer MI because of its build quality and personal experience of the problems faced within 1 month of purchase of RedMI Note 3.
However still people are going crazy on MI devices.
We have both(me n my brother in law) . 1 week of use and Huawei had scratches all over the phone. And I see I'm not the only one. What quality are we talking about? there is 0 screen protection. Both carried in same conditions.
Aside from by miles better screen, charging(and charger options) sound, marginal in battery, community support(that doesn't exist in huaweii)
He'll i even add software cuz MIUI 8 is by my preference miles ahead of Emui.
There is nothing like the Honor-experience to me.
I ordered the Honor 8 Blue on Monday on vmall, it got delivered 10 am on tuesday... insane!
Its unicolor, bezel has same color as the back and front.
Also, if you turn down animation speeds to 0,5 in developer settings, this phone seems lightning fast.
Benchmark scores dont matter to me, the Kirin 950 runs every app that i used to use on iphone 6s and Samsung S7 equally well.
One of the few things i want for the Honor 9 next year, would be Dual Sim slot with the capability of using a micro-SD card at the same time, like Motorola G4 can. And at least 64GB internal memory. I know there will be a 64GB model Honor 8 in the EU soon, but why not sell it at release? ...

Back or front? The back seems to scratch pretty easily, but the front seems ok. Phone dropped from sitting right on front and nothing seems scratched at all. (Actually it fall on rocks! I was impressed)
Actually, the back is easy to scratch unlike the front.
Luckily, an honor employee said he will forward this to honor. I hope they fix this in the next batch

Yup. But on my Blue honor you hardly notice the back scratches, I guess it might be more noticeable on the less glossy colors.
How did you contact the honor employee? Are they still active on XDA?

PURPOSE
So 1st and foremost, the plan here is to give you my experience with these 3 phones. Granted, I have only used the Huawei P9 for about 3 days now and can say I have yet to fully break it in to find everything that may or may not be right / wrong with it. However, this will be a unbiased look and comparison. I'm neither a fanboy or sheep. No brand affiliation. Not a programmer either, just a pro-sumer Senior Member of XDA willing to get trolled, flamed, etc. for sharing a look at these 3 phones. Hopefully, I can give "the everyday guy / gal look" without getting bogged down in stats, variables or benchmarks. Here goes...
MY BACKGROUND
No one special. Just a guy that likes the latest tech... phones being at the top of the list. I am a nerd. No doubt about that. I think anyone that knows about XDA probably is to some extent. No brand loyalty. Recently, I have had the privilege to try out the following phones:
1. Huawei P9
2. LG G5
3. Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
4. Huawei Mate 8
5. Huawei Nexus 6P
6. LG Nexus 5X
7. Samsung Note 5
8. Apple iPhone 6s+
And probably some more, but these are the most recent. Does that make me qualified to make a review... Maybe. It does make me an idiot that likes new phones, though. I am always looking for something that meets my needs but also is a good phone. Currently with TMobile but have been with ATT, Verizon & Sprint at some point 20 years of using cell phones.
MY NEEDS
I drive about 40 miles everyday to work (yes, my work week is currently 7 days a week with a few occasional days off). So, with this in mind and where I drive. I need the minimum requirements:
1. Can Stream Music
2. Bluetooth is fully compatible with my 2016 vehicle
3. An equalizer of some sort since I have only switch out my new cars speakers for better ones and don't plan on changing or adding a better sound system.
4. Decent pictures when needed
5. As a nerd, I like to "mesmerize" people with a pay with your phone app like Apple Pay or Android Pay
6. Works with my Huawei Watch
7. Relatively not laggy - will sometimes do some ROM-ing or some customization but since I tend to get rid of the phones quickly I try not to void warranties or make it too non-stock
THE COMPARISON
I am looking at my experience with the Huawei P9, LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge under/around these requirements and some normal stuff like battery, screen, snappiness, heat, speakers, etc. Here goes:
SOUND OVERALL
All 3 phones surprisingly pass my in-car bluetooth test. They flawlessly hook up to my 2016 Honda HR-V. All allow Bass Boost Pro to be installed and used as a system-wide equalizer. I changed the speakers out in my car to Pioneer 4-way Speakers in order to get better sound without drastically altering anything else in the car. The equalizer on the phone helps correct the "tinny" sound (no bass) that would otherwise be produced just from tweaking the stock stereo units equalizer. With the equalizer applied, it does reduce the output volume of the bluetooth from the phone to the unit. With this in mind, the P9 & G5 are still able to produce a loud enough signal for me to still headbang to Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Ghost, Ministry and any other evil-loving band you can think of (Hard Rock Guy... Yep!)... They also let me bounce to the occasional Ice Cube, NWA, 2Pac, Public Enemy and any other REAL Hip-Hop artist that didn't have to rely on auto-tune and catchphrases to spit mad lyrics... enough with my music preferences... back to the review... The S7 also sometimes force closes the Bass Boost Pro app on its own which causes the output to go through the roof and blow out my eardrums and speakers... not cool sammy, not cool. Loud speakers on both the P9 and G5 are super loud and clear... albeit that none of the 3 have stereo speakers... but the S7 has the worst hands down. Samsung I think didn't even try to make them good and I would think its hard when you talk about making a phone water-proof with external speakers. The P9 does annoyingly put a extra overlay at the top of the screen with what is playing when I'm using Google Play Music... I won't however say this is a bad thing as some people may like it and it might just be something I haven't figured out how to turn off. Haven't really used the stock music apps on the phones, and supposedly the LG G5 has DAC. Once again, I can only go off my usage. In a sound to sound comparison, the G5 maybe has a more dynamic range when listening to it vs. the P9 & S7, but this too maybe just my ears. (...which are quite big!!! hahaha)
WINNER: TIE - LG G5 & HUAWEI P9 (Sorry S7 :crying
BATTERY
OK... A lot can be said about batteries on all these phones... but I'm going to break it down as simply I can without turning this into a preference war.
1. LG G5 Battery is definitely smaller and does not last as long as the P9 or S7
2. LG G5 has a removable battery, the others do not.
All have some type of quick charge whether true quick charge or some bastardize version of it, looking at you G5... I say bastardize because most of you have seen articles about how with USB-C & QuickCharge 3.0, that quickcharge basically break compliance to USB-C specs by "forcing" more power than what should go through a USB-C connection. Qualcomm claims this is ok they guess because they say its connector independent... whatevers... Here's the deal. The S7 actually has quickcharge and a compliant connector. The P9 similar if not the same as the Nexus 6p... which it does charge faster than a normal micro-usb phone without quickcharge but definitely not as fast as a quickcharge phone. The P9 Plus reportedly has Huawei's Rapid Charge, which I assume with USB-C would put it into the same boat as the LG G5 as far as compliance to USB-C.
Such a nerd... stop it... they don't care... ta,ta,ta,today Jr.
All things being equal and without compliance getting in the way...
1. P9 has the Longest battery life but slowest charging
2. LG G5 shortest battery life and fastest charging
3. S7 has a decent battery life, compliant fast charging, wireless fast charging
WINNER: S7 by a nose... really it depends on your daily needs and preference here.
HEAT
So, in a previous review of the LG G5 vs. S7, I gave this fight to the S7. The LG G5 does heat up along with the S7. I have already had to exchange out an LG G5 that was faulty that had something to do with overheat + the removable battery system + whatever else... basically it would work, sometimes heat up or heat up when charging, go into a bootloop, need the battery completely removed, disconnected from chin (end cap piece of the G5) and re-inserted to start working again... even with my replacement phone, during its setup, the new phone overheated and had to power cycle in order to continue the setup again (I purposely setup my phones over 4G LTE to tax them a little)... the S7 Edge I had did the same at one point, although I never had to replace it. So, here comes Mr. P9, with its Kirin 955 OctaCore... and says basically, Samsung & LG, you suck... Even with a full metal body and no paint insulation (yep... poking fun at the LG G5) , the P9 dominates by not overheating the device during setup on both Wifi & 4G LTE. I really didn't feel it get hot at all... might just be my experience... I played Clash Royale for an hour too and didn't feel it get hot either... Basically SnapDragon is just that... a Dragon breathing fire onto the outer casing in hopes of burning you to a crisp unless you are the Mother of Dragons... (didn't think I was going to have a review today without making a GoT reference did you?)
WINNER: Hands Down & Not Close... HUAWEI P9
SNAPPINESS
So, First off before I dig deeply into this. Let me just say all 3 phones are fast. Where I draw from is my experience with these phones in my daily usage. Unfortunately, and you can run a thousands benchmarks that will say otherwise, the S7 is laggy because of TouchWiz... that's a fact. From a laggy response to the fingerprint reader to just basic loading of apps... TouchJizz, oops I mean TouchWiz , slows what could be a beast of a phone down to sometimes intolerable levels even when compared to a Apple iPhone 6s. The LG G5 does much better a harnessing the power of the SnapDragon 820. But the question is at what cost? I think some of the heat and crashing issues I see with the LG G5, mind you my 2nd LG G5, maybe due to "unleashing the beast." I did see it stutter while playing Clash Royale, which is surprising since I wouldn't call Clash Royale a "graphics hog..." Now, you can throw whatever AnTuTu-ningOut benchmark and go "higher is better," I'm going to say not in this case. The Kirin 955 in the P9 remains snappy and doesn't seem to do it at the expense of heat or the battery. It hasn't stuttered for me when playing my simple games and the fingerprint reader is super-fast, like light speed. Granted this is my day to day usage, I don't know if you tried to hack the Pentagon while playing Global Thermo Nuclear War in 3D on it if it wouldn't kill the 955 and what is reportedly a inferior GPU. Just sayin' it works for me. Also, I like EMUI... Huawei's interface for Android. I like it almost over extreme customization features... plus for none of the phones do I rely on the stock launcher, opting for the HTC Sense Port that is available here:
http://www.fulmics.com/htc-sense/
And was conceived and hacked by this master here in the xda-forums:
xprit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=5132229
EMUI may not be your cup of tea and not knowing how to do with it (I had a Huawei Mate 8) immediately might turn you off to it. Didn't see any notification issues like the Mate 8 Chinese Version had either, so that's a bonus so far... Lastly, like to point out here that the P9 that I have does not have NFC and it seems only the P9 Plus will. Not a deal breaker here, since I already know that there's no way to have Android Pay on an International or Chinese Market phone... maybe one day, but not at this time (so its not breaking my nerd heart... ) The P9 does take a little experience to setup as well, although you can find a ton of stuff on setting up a Chinese Market phone just by Googling or right here in the XDA forums... basically you need to use Huawei's App Store: HiAPP to download the Play Store then you are off to the races... also you won't be able to use a restore from a previous phone like you normally would either through Google... I actually like that since it makes me rethink what apps I actually need now and eliminate the garbage. The P9 does come with it fair share of Chinese "Here's your pet panda that you just stare at on the screen apps..." and some Huawei Chinese duplicate functionality apps (Messages, Email, etc.). Some of the duplicate apps are useful, most can be uninstalled or disabled. Depending on carriers, you get the same if not more bloat on the S7 & G5 as well... You do get functioning NFC with S7 & G5 with Android Pay
WINNER: HUAWEI P9... HOWEVER, if NFC & ANDROID PAY ARE A "DEALBREAKER" G5 over S7
DISPLAY
Boy, I really hate this section. Honestly, if I said I gave "2 big bags of American BandStand Host/New Year's Rockin' Eve Host" about this section would you get the point??? But people tend to want to know so here goes. All phones unless they are based on 90's tech or are an Apple iPhone (hahahahaha, had to... they are going to fix it with a AMOLED in the iPhone 7 so I will get my pot shot in while I can), has a decent screen that a normal human being that is not a pixel nerd would not even know the differences. Pure stats alone and quality, S7 wins. Looking at functionality for everyday use, the LG G5's always-on display is by far the most functional change a phone manufacturer has made in recent memory. It informs of alerts without having to unlock and open the phone... genius! The S7 tries a half-baked approach to this with their always-on display but it falls short of the way LG deploys it on the G5. The auto brightness for whatever reason works better on the G5 than on the S7 as well. For the P9, there's nothing special. Good Screen, Good auto brightness, no always-on functionality. The P9 does have an extensive color temperature setting change for it, that's really it. No double tap to wake for the P9, not at least any setting I found. The G5 is the only phone that has it built in. It's worth noting that if you wait for the P9 Plus, you get a better screen & force touch, so if you're a screen dork, this might be something to try as a unique feature. The P9 does have some unique gestures for things like screen capture and etc. SO, YOU PICK THIS ONE.....
WINNER: FUNCTIONALITY LG G5... PRETTINESS SAMSUNG S7... COLOR TEMP HUAWEI P9 (I so don't care so it not my call)
PHONE DESIGN
No one can argue that the Samsung S7 Edge is a well-designed phone. Glass back allows for wireless charging which is also a plus in my book as well. :good: The G5 is not the greatest looking phone. NOT UGLY!!! Let's say its handsome... just not beautiful... get the picture. Then the P9 comes out... with a style that can only be described as... if the Xperia Z5 and an iPhone 6s had love child...
A well designed rectangled phone made of metal that is thin and feels good in hand. Now of course all 3 have different colors, some of which, like in the case of the P9, only come in certain colors for certain RAM / Memory configurations. Of course, whether or not they had anything to do with the camera design, the P9 having the LECIA tramp stamp helps it out too and the 2 camera configuration is much easier to swallow then "Day the Earth Stood Still" configuration on the G5. Physical button placement is nice on the P9 and like the G5 it does not have capacitive buttons like the S7 has. The G5 does let you rearrange the configuration of its buttons, the P9 does not (Or at least I haven't found it... probably another P9 Plus Benefit) The Gold color of the P9 is a believable palatable gold color for my 4GB / 64GB version EVA-AL10 as it is the only color available. Unlike the G5, that looks like gold spray paint color... of course the Gold Platinum on a S7 is more baller than either. The P9 also has a "grain" that comes through in the metal that adds to its overall appearance making it look better than its cousin phone the Huawei Mate 8 with it brushed metal exterior. There is a white ceramic version of the P9 as well, so I can't speak to that version but I don't think you can get the 4GB / 64GB combo only in the P9 Plus...
WINNER: TIE... SAMSUNG S7 & HUAWEI P9
CAMERA
As I have pointed out in my other Other Guy's review of the S7 vs. the G5, I do not like talking and "judging" phones cameras because of my "nose-in-the-air" bias I have from being a person that has a both a film & photography degree... I will say it again like I mean it. Physics as of right now, without some major breakthrough, makes it impossible for what inherently needs to be a small camera to take as good as or better pictures than a standard DSLR. Bigger Chips = Greater Surface Area to Absorb Light = Better More Dynamic Pictures... plain and simple. Yes, some flaming troll might disagree but its hard to argue with Science or at least Science to this point. That's not to say, for generally taking snapshots, daily pictures, etc. phone cameras aren't great. In fact, I do think they replace a standard point-and-shoot camera at this point... Now, looking at the 3... each employs it own set of innovations / tricks to make decent photographs. Here's the breakdown:
1. S7 - Best lens F-STOP 1.7 allows most light to hit imaging chip in low light
2. G5 - Dual Lens used to widen field of view producing almost panoramic shots just by zooming out
3. P9 - Using a two lens configuration, one taking a color picture the other taking black and white, images have the best dynamic range (the difference between the lightest light and darkest dark which can be seen in a photo)
So all have their pluses and minuses based on the situation you might use it for. Some may say having a camera that can take better pictures at night is the best and is always the best. I disagree... since its not like its taking fabulous unbelievably great pictures at night... just better snapshots. The P9 & G5 have far superior "Pro Modes" and features that could help you take a great night shot. Not really going to rank camera speed either because unless you had all 3 and were taking pictures at the same time, the same way, would you really notice a fraction of difference, probably not.
WINNER: IT'S A TIE AS I DON'T HAVE A REAL OPINION JUST YET
CONCLUSION
So, what can I conclude? That all 3 phones are awesome... all 3 have plus and minuses. The P9 is an excellent alternative to these 2 more well-known phones. I can say based off what the P9 Plus will have, that it might tip the scale in a few of these categories if you want to wait for the bigger sibling. It looks as though it will be very interesting to through the HTC 10 into this mix as it may just do enough things right to make it the 2016 standout. Of course, it will be added to the mix in a week or so hopefully. As for the P9, it's a solid phone that ultimately might win out because it is the easiest probably to gain root and ROM. Time will tell. I think once the International Variants can be found and are released, this will also help with it usability and popularity. But if your looking for a nice looking phone that no one else has and is unique (unless you live in China then maybe a billion people have it  ) then its a great pick. No NFC maybe somewhat of a deal breaker although with Android Pay either way, don't really know of a great purpose for NFC. Lastly and as always, this is just Some Guy's Opinion... :good:
As always please comment, thanks again!
I'm interested in getting the P9 so thank you for a great overall review. So refreshing to here a regular person give their opinion on it rather than the "experts" banging on about only the camera.
One request, please can you post a pic of the phone (front and rear) without any cover. Want to get the 4GB/64GB version but where I live they will only release it in Haze Gold. Not a big fan of gold phones. In fact I generally dislike anything shiny or overly blingy. That's the only reason I haven't bought the S7. Not sure I would like the "grain" of the metal compared to annodised or sandblasted metal (or whatever it's called). I think I prefer the Mystic Silver or maybe White but not the ceramic. It's annoying, their choice of colour and material combination have conspired against me :silly:. Will have to see in person.
Many thanks.

These are both for the Huawei Mate 8 but are the same for the P9 Chinese Version.
Google Play Store:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/how-to-install-google-services-google-t3295512
I typically just install the Play Store Only through this method... once it's installed, you should use it to install all other stuff... play services should also update automatically
Calendar Sync:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/google-sync-t3277840
Does require a reboot and make sure in security you allow unknown sources to install as it won't let you otherwise
This should be all you need! :good:

definitely good contrast... i have to take some pictures but I think this camera might be pretty decent... i know one of the android sites is conducting a quadruple blind picture test to determine the "best" smartphone camera right now... we'll just have to see how the P9 fairs...

So now that the Oppo Find X is out, which phone do you think is the "bezel-less" king?
I actually prefer the Nex. The Find X looks better, but it only has the camera to unlock, and given the amount of times I unlock the phone a day, I don't trust the mechanism. You also need to popup for the rear cameras, and it seems to take a while to launch the viewfinder.
The popup for the Nex selfie camera is better unless you are constantly taking selfies during the day (who does that?). Also I prefer the under glass fingerprint scanner to facial recognition. And as a plus, it has an even bigger battery.
oppo find x would be slightly more expensive tho, but probably a better camera
but vivo get better audio, headphone jack!! and hifi

@giorgoxxi
Just as you mentioned, for the looks & WOW factor,I think the OPPO Find X has the VIVO NEX beat hands down.
Otherwise, the only other area that is a definitive win for the Find X is more LTE Bands, but, there should be enough for most users on either phone.
http://phonedb.net/index.php?m=devi...l_sim_td-lte_cn_256gb__nex_ultimate__bbk_apex
http://phonedb.net/index.php?m=device&id=13498&c=oppo_find_x_dual_sim_td-lte_apac_pafm00__paft00
http://phonedb.net/index.php?m=device&s=compare
The NEX has the Find X beat in price & while I think I'd like using the Find X,the novelty of the slider would fade quickly (I don't lock my phone or take selfies,so,the Find X slider would get little use anyway).
Another area that the NEX is a better choice for me is that I don't care for the curved screen edges of the Find X,the NEX doesn't appear to have the curves.
If I'd waited one more day, perhaps I'd be in a wait & see mode, but,I ordered the NEX the very day before the Find X was introduced & don't regret it.
Who knows,by the time the Find X actually goes up for sale (8/2018),there may be another pop-up/slider or,another take on the full-screen phone ready to hit the street.
Yeah curve screens still annoy me cuz I do watch videos a bit and the image always appear narrower than it is. Prone to accidental side touches and the glares.. Ugh.
But of these two, I do think the slide mechanism is more refined, seamless in the Oppo instead of a tiny dongle of Vivo. However I think it's a mistake to put one too many functions/sensors in there. Cameras are fine, but to not have fps and have an intrinsic function like secure unlocking dependant on the mechanism is too much imo. I do like the ultra cool paint job of its back vs the Nex glared pattern which I don't care for.
I'm confident though the Nex is the right device for me due to features it has which the Oppo doesn't ie. headphone jack, DAC, fps Scanner(wish it was all lower screen like the concept tho), bigger battery, thinner, more affordable. Perfect solution for me would just be the Nex but having the same back paint application of the Oppo and I'd be a happy dude! Lol!
Much prefer Vivo Nex over Oppo.
1.Bigger battery capacity.
2.Audio jack 3.5 and DAC support
3.Prefer 3d scanner under screen as completely new technology than 3d iris recognition(i do have over 2.5 years both surface pro 4 and now surface book that have iris scanner recognition but think its much preferd to laptop/ultrabook over smartphone)
4.Im really fall in love with rainbow effect glass back on Vivo Nex
The Vivo for me.
I very much dislike curved screens after using the S7 Edge for few years. When I see a 'flat screen' phone like the Pixel 2, I get a bit jelly. I miss those...
I don't find the Oppo looks any more attractive than Vivo's to be honest. So I don't have anything going for it. But all the positives listed above are just cherry on top after looking at the prices that they will likely be entering the market at. I don't want to spend a grand on a phone, I'm not there in life yet unfortunately. And even if it wasn't that expensive, I don't think I'd even care all that much for the Find X. Mainly cos of that damn curve!
Yep just ordered mine. I was going wait for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer but I can always get that later. I think this is definitely a much more user friendly phone as it is leveraging a new design element to make the screen better but not making it an absolute if it failed. The Oppo would be useless if the mechanism failed where as with the Nex I just can’t take selfies. Plus larger battery and underscreen fimgerprint scanner put it over the top. IMO

Looks like I overpaid by about 20% vs your cost, that's what I get for being impatient.
I would cancel, but, the seller (LIAOW) did state he'll ship out same or next day of initial availability (6/23-6/24) & it's a bit close to that point.
If there are delays (5 days or more) before I see a tracking number,I'll cancel & go w/TradingShenzen.

I did the same thing a couple of days ago. I ordered the red but this color is back-ordered about 1 week...no big deal.
I have a pixel 2 xl and always buy the google devices from the nexus one. Always wanted to try the OP because of the software. Looking forward to it!
You can be excited, honestly I never had a better all-in-one pack of a smartphone in my hands.
It has some minor disadvantages, but many more awesome things to offer!
Overall best phone I've ever used. Haven't had one complaint. The notch doesn't bother me at all. And the navigation gestures, in place of the navigation bar, are very well executed.
Having owned most flagships over 5 years of many different OEM's I have to say that OnePlus I find most compelling. Having also had the 3T and 5T and perhaps should nhsve waited for the 6T, the red just got me.
Some say it's close to others flagship price and then slate OnePlus for this or that. £519 compared to £860+ is a significant saving in comparison. For this there is obvious things OnePlus has to save on and balance things out properly. I think they do this reasonably well. I say this as dual speakers would have been easy, and some IP even 67 would have been nice.
So no the 6 is not perfect but when you factor in the price and really see what your getting it's very very nice indeed.
1)The performance on the 6 is best in class, it just works and very well.
2)OOS some dislike, I love as it's a stock Android experience with just the right flavouring.
3)Camera (now this can be subjective) but for the price it's great and almost keeps up with higher end devices.
These are a few things that for me make using a device great.
I'm disappointed with look of my oneplus6,
I bought it only because of software possibilities and flat display and 256gb of storage and snapdragon845.
Oneplus6 is very ugly and poorly designed phone with retarded glass back for zero reason, back of the phone must be high quality plastic as wireless charging coil under it.
phone must not have notch and any bezels, especially when all technologies are available.
I hope next model is going to be better.
sams s9+ could be the choice but it has lower specs, even uglier design, retarded curved display and higher prices on top of it.
And that's it, we do not have any other phones with needed specs and software possibilities.

nope, oneplus6 is pretty smooth and has all the software I need for now,
thanks to all devs for their hard work.
it's still very poorly optimized but it is about any other phone on the market, thanks to Google team of software developers with broken hands and mental disorder.
regardless hardware design, oneplus6 is extremely ugly and poorly developed phone.
it has absolutely unnecessary ugly notch and HUGE bezel on front side.
on the back it has retarded glass cover which can easily break.
No wireless charging coil which cost a few dollars more.
No ip68 which cost the same a few dollars more.
no microsd card reader, a few dollars more.
so here we have retarded oneplus seo who cannot think clear or just simply highly disrespect customers.

Atleast for me, forum seems to be full of people spamming, asking same questions over and over again, not using search. Also crying non stop about everything, having bought the phone for 150usd, and expecting it to be better than say Pixel for 1000usd. I also agree that community is bad. But development is good, a lot of custom roms, been using Pie rom Pixel Experience, runs like stock, no bugs, great performance and battery life. But if i were you, i would wait for redmi note 7.. much nicer design, a bit better soc, and probably better camera. And its gonna cost basically the same, well maybe 10euros more. Its not really logical buying redmi note 5 at this time, when you have newer devices for the same price. Even redmi note 6 costs the same and is newer, but the only upgrade on it is notched screen. RN7 is a real upgrade tho
Ive been on xda forums since 2008 or so, and i would usually buy flagship devices for a ****load of money, and community was always nice. My last 2 devices, were cheap ones from china, leeco le pro 3 and RN5, and in both cases community was way worse.. So i came to conclusion, the cheaper the device is, the ****tier the community is.

Its not a gimmick. Its a really good sensor from samsung, and it uses pixel bining technology. Combining 4pixels into 1, resulting in waaayyy bigger pixels and way more light coming in, resulting in good quality 12mpx photos. RN7 is a midrange device for a budget phone price. You cant get sd660 with all the other goodies for this price anywhere else.

Because design wise it looks much more premium than aluminium. Also they follow design line of other xiaomi phones. They released mi 8 series with glass back, and if you look at mi 8 light, youll see its the same design as RN7. So, you get new, modern design, and design wise it didnt cost xiaomi anything, because research and development was already done on mi 8 series. If they released another metal phone, looking just like RN5, people would be crying non stop.. They already were crying, because RN4, RN5, RN6 had basically same design..

Well, 100usd is a joke of a price. For this hardware, its a bargain. If you dont need that extra 10% performance, better low light photos and more modern design, go for it. You wont find rn7 for 100usd thats for sure.

Alright. I will look and see what i will buy.
The Redmi note 7 seems once again to be a very good phone for the price.
I am very happy with the RN5, updates are regular and I don't matter about dumb people who are always complaining about nothing. I'm not ready to change because I hope Android pie update as announced on the forum ( perhaps increasing photo and video mode) , but I am a bit afraid to loose call recording feature which is a very important functionality for me. As far I know, Android 9 doesn't allow it andI hope it will be still there thanks to Miui.
This is my first Xiaomi and I'm really impressed by the great quality of this smartphone.

I am kinda skeptical about it. Besides, when it arrives in the globe?

Yeah its not worth upgrading. But if you are buying, it makes more sense to go for RN7.

Not sure if there's any definitive info out yet except for the Hassleblad partnership but anyone showing any interest for this phone. I've become a huge fan since the release of the OnePlus 8 Pro (my favorite phone of all time, lol) so I have high hopes for the next iteration. I'm hoping for better cameras and maybe an sd card slot?
Looking good!

The cam and its software may be good or a bomb.
However...
No SD card and limited internal storage means I never would touch it. At this point a SD card is mandatory for me.
While 128gb be more than enough storage for me for the OS/apps* it's not even half of my data requirement.
Meh, get up to speed or get out of my way... a pretty cam with no storage isn't a good trade off.
*currently using about 30 of 512gb internal.
341 gb on the SD card data drive.

Yep, I know what you mean. It's not mandatory for me but it makes things so convenient. Especially with google photos eliminating unlimited storage. I have a 1 terabyte card with almost half the thing full of my lossless music, videos, and photos.

The dream of a dual drive 1.5 tb computer in your hand has come true. Simply outstanding.
My XPx64 tower uses more power to boot up than takes my 10+ to run for the whole day.
Without a data drive life is much harder, at least if you make full use of the data drive.
Being able to do a full reload with no laptop, anywhere, anytime makes the phone completely self sufficient barring a hardware failure.
I'm interested in this phone.. always liked the oneplus but never got round to buying it as user reviews were mixed for the phone and customer service. I'm saying this as I am looking to upgrade from my much beloved Google Pixel 2. However it seems there are lots of announcement and releases this month...Asus Rog phone 5 today, Oppo Find X3 pro tomorrow Xiaomi Mi 11 next week and OnePlus 9 soon after, was also hoping for the Sony Xperia 1 III to be announced.... decisions decisions decisions!
I'm an 8t owner , and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase they have been good with updates and yes there have been bugs but mostly all phones on R11 have some bugs , but the updates have fixed most , and let's see what they come with here one the 1+9 and the pro
After the slightly disappointing launch of the Oppo X3 keeping my fingers crossed for the OnePlus launch tomorrow... Or maybe hold out for the Sony Xperia 1 III

Yup let's see what they got for tomorrow
8Pro was a reference flagship, perfect in many microscopic details, so i did preorder cases for both newer models. Despite having another flagship on way, i expect to buy this one too. My hope is I can buy the base model for better WEIGHT, and hoping it won't be crippled in Samsung way (who made e.g. Note20 and any other non-Ultra totally avoidable). The great news is the base model has got wireless charging, and superfast charging and superfast-not-so-crippled compatible charging (45W PD). However last year they made model 8 redundant by having almost no improvements and trashy camera, so it's hard to say.
I'm expecting camera under display in model 10, so i'm buying cases as soon as possible I kind of hope they will run out of innovations and come back to geekness (bring back sd card, notif light) in model 10.
So what do people think....under the hood it is identical to the Oppo Find X3 pro...just cheaper and with free wireless charger and ear buds...this might be the one...
I currently have a OP8T and after watching the launch & the early reviews, I can safely say that I'm going to skip the OP9Pro... The generation jump is not noticeable and the new cameras didn't really live up to the hype. Xiaomi's Mi 11 Pro/Ultra looking more solid with no Hasselblad gimmick whatsoever.
watched the intro, and then review was added to gsmarena and phone was published in our top seller website in an coordinated way. battery rating is funny for 1+, but i believe phone will be holding charge for at least twice the time as Samsung despite. Just look at the huge 3G standby time - industry best. In my use case, that will mean it will make it to 3rd day easily and some more. For the video, they might fix it later, but i do not watch videos all day and do not run background script to prop display frequency either... not real use case. Camera great in wide and night, and not so great for the main sensor. Let's see more reviews. Base model defly with Qi and ultrafast 65T charging, however the weight is still 192g, which is disappointing. That actually makes the "compact" model obsolete if price insensitive. So there are some mild disappointments, and the best thing we can do is to buy it and moan later
I'm considering it. Currently I (still) have OP3 and I think it's time to upgrade. Looking at 256G version (absolutely no need for SD card here). I wouldn't mind, if it was somewhat smaller though...
Any idea how long we will have for root? as this is kinda essential (and I know OP was always kinda very good for modding community)
I just placed an order for the OP9 and it said free z buds but when I checked out, it didn't show on order confirmation.
Thought maybe you had to add them to the cart as well and the discount will be at check out but did that and it wasn't showing either. Talked to customer service and they said free gifts are not available and in stock?

I just checked their online store and you need to select the free gift in the cart before checkout. On that screen, it shows "out of stock". That is pretty lame!
Have 2 OP9 coming. I am upgrading from 6T and she from 7. I am perpetually disappointed by Google Pixel series and the 5 is the worst. I keep hoping they remember what made Nexus phones great. Oneplus continues to be the closest to what Nexus experience was.
We both did get the OP buds free. And we got 110-140 for our old phones. I got education discount. Not bad deal for me to get the OP9
I may be in minority but I never liked phone camera pics. They always look fake to me because of colors. I always was dissapointed by green of vegetation and how bright red people's skin are. Call Hasselblad color calibration boring but its a huge relief to me pics won't make everthing look plastic.
Do think its weird they added a monochrome sensor when any software can do that just as well. Why they didn't use a telefoto instead on the 9 is baffling. I would bet at least 80% of users will never use it after testing it.
I am disappointed they didn't go with the rear hardware fingerprint like the Nord. I have problems with 6T fingerprint reader. I really hope OP9 will be vastly imoroved.

Rooting with Magisk now is instant availability. You install the Magisk APK. Extract the boot image. Modify the boot image with Magisk. Use the modified image to flash via adb. Done. You don't need to wait TWRP etc.

I don't understand people who upgrade from one series to the next or why anyone would expect it to have enough tech advancements to make it worth it.
Instead considering how late the 8T release was, I would have waited for OP9.
But to each their own, but amazed you are even looking at phones considering my guess you have had the 8T less than 6 months.
But I agree Oneplus should have spent more time on the hardware, and software than with the gimmick collaboration with Hassleblad that didn't really happen.
- Would have been nice is Hassleblad actually had something to do with the hardware, cameras etc.
- Would have been nice if Hassleblad influence was consistent with all cameras including front but seems we will have color shifts among all the cameras. Kinda defeats the whole collab for Hassleblad natural color tech.

But the 2 new lenses are nice , especially the wide with no more distortion on that wide angle lens
