So basically I want to root my phone.
As mentioned in the title above, this phone of mine exists nowhere as per MY knowledge in being root-able.
This phone was able to be rooted in lower versions. Now I don't think it exists.
1) THE OFFICIAL SONY SITE, won't let me unlock the bootloader.
2) Without unlocking the bootloader I THINK I won't be able to flash a custom ROM.
3) I need help with this.
-Unlocking the bootloader.
-Rooting it
-Getting the best custom rom
-MAYBE being able to use Nougat.
So can anyone on this website kindly help me?
I am a noob and am pretty new, so my knowledge is low, but I am looking forward to root this device now.

Hi, I am new to XDA and this is my first ever post, so Devs, be easy on me.
I own a Sony Xperia SP device (c5302) which is currently running Android 4.3 (12.1.A.1.201) and I want to gain root access on my device.
I looked at several tutorials and videos and found that I need to have the Bootloader unlocked first of all. I am not sure about the exact procedure as every tutorial follows a slightly differently process.
Here are my questions as a newbie.
I want to know that what losses can I have if I try to unlock my bootloader?
After rooting, will I be able to get the same android and build version running on my device i.e. Android 4.3 and build 12.1.A.1.201?
Will I be able to get future updates from Sony that are shown in the phone as notifications as and when the updates arrive?
Is it possible to bring my phone back to the same condition it is in today? Like it was never rooted or the bootloader was never unlocked, because I want to avail warranty as well?
1. Warranty
2. Ofcourse
3. I think this is device / manufacturer specific...
4. You can always reflash to stock ROM, talking about bootloader some bootloaders can be unlocked but can't be relocked this is again device / manufacturer specific.
I have an Xperia Z3 D6603 running android lollipop 5.0.2 and it says in my service menu that im not allowed to unlock my bootloader. ive heard that its posssible to change this on multiple occasions and seen phones of the exact same model and firmware as mine that have unlocked their bootloaders and rooted their phones and i would like to do the same. i have tried different methods of unlocking from both official and unoffical sources, with no success. if anyone can please tell me how i might change the status or how i can unlock my bootloader and root (yes ive heard the risks a million times, no i dont really care about losing the drm keys that allow better lowlight conditions with the camera, and my phone actually has slowed slightly since the lollipop update) it would be much appreciated and of course if any additional info is needed, i will of course provide such as quickly as i am able to. thanks in advance and all input is appreciated.
you cant unlock the bootloader then, if you want root then you will need to downgrade to kk and root the device and install a pre-rooted lp rom
Hello, I've got Xperia Z3 (D6603) with Android 6.0.1, 23.5.A.0.570 rooted, with locked bootloader.
I am newbie with doing "things", like root or something (it took me a long time to do it). To the point: I want to calibrate my battery and I've read I need xRecovery, which needs unlocked bootloader (at least I found this way), but I can't do it. Is there any other way to do it?
Moreover, I want to install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/themes-apps/mod-cyber-shot-camera-xperia-2012-2014-t1945470 and it needs CWM, which I also can't install.
Could anyone please explain my issues to me with straightforward way? I'd be deeply grateful.
I have a Z5 (latest software version) and simply want to root my device. How can I do it in the easiest and safest way? I have experience with rooting my Xperia Are S (device from 2011) but with the z5 it seems to be way to complicated and different.
I was reading about "DRM keys", what's that, is it important to save?
Furthermore, is it necessary to unlock my bootloader in order to get root? If yes: How can I do that? It's currently locked and I haven't found a way to unlock it.
After rooting, can I flash custom Roms aswell (like lineage with android oreo)?
I have the same problem. I have tried fastboot to unlock the bootloader but it does not detect the device.
Would we have to roll back our firmware to a working version? If so, how could we install this firmware, and which firmware would be the correct version to install?
ps Hadoujamal, if you find a solution please let me know.

was able to get it working reading this guide.
Hello, I have a Xperia Z3 D6603 running 23.5.A.1.291 . When I do *#*#SERVICE#*#*, it clearly shows "Bootloader unlock allowed: NO"
However, I was able to flash TWRP and ROOT following the procedure below:
Recovery and Root for MM .575/.291 LB/UB
This is a port of the original tool by russel5 from the Z3C forums I have added support for Z3 D6603, D6653, D6633, D6646 and D6643. PROCEDURE * Update to .291 as usual via OTA from Sony or flashing directly. * Make sure you have ADB set up...

I guess for the procedure above, the fact that the bootloader is still locked is not a dependency.
Now the question is, since I got TWRP and ROOT (but bootloader is still LOCKED), is it possible at all now, to flash a custom ROM such as Lineage?
Thank you in advance for whoever can shed some light on this....really appreciate it.
p.s. The very upper portion of the LCD does not work for some reason like many others have reported, hence pulling down the notification bar is not working anymore. It works, however, when the screen is in a different orientation, say horizontal. The main reason I want to flash a custom ROM, is to verify if this is a ROM related issue, or it's purely hardware damage. If someone happen to have any insight on this, please shed some light too ...deeply appreciated.
No you cant flash other ROM without unlocked bootloader but if you are flashed TWRP you can try flash ROM but that can brick your phone
