PRL and profile won't update - Sprint Note 7 Questions & Answers

I received my replacement phone a few days ago and haven't been able to update PRL or profile. Anybody else having this issue?

Same here....neither will update

have you tried ##72786# ?
I think you need your msl# for this tho.

I just updated both Profile and PRL with no issue. Using the replacement device with the green battery.

[Q] Data staying on upload, not receiving some calls, not able to make some calls.

What can I do to fox this issue? I have tried everything from creating a new APN, factory resetting it, doing the OTA update, up to changing the sim card entirely. All of my network settings are correct, and T-Mo's customer service acts like it's nothing wrong at all, because their stupid troubleshooting tricks are simple commands that an idiot could figure out.
The calls don't receive and won't send only when the 4G symbol is stuck on uploading data.
I have not downloaded any crazy apps or anything, so, that's ruled out. It's not rooted, s-on, stock everything.
Please help.
For how long has your phone been turned on? Is it your first day with the one s? Maybe you have a problem with your google account? Is play store downloading?

This used to be a big issue with the Nexus One from HTC. I was afraid it would happen on this phone as well. I can say that it does seem to happen sometimes on my HOS but only when I have limited signal on 4G. I usually either reboot the phone or put it into airplane mode then back when I notice it happening.
Same issues.. very very annoying.

I figured out that it was the phone itself. T-Mobile denied it was their network causing the issue, and they may have been right. HTC has been aware of this issue and are working to push out one their slow ass OTA updates with the fix. <<<that coming from an HTCdev employee.
I got the buyer's remorse and swapped it out within 14 days and the new one has no issue whatsoever. I'm pretty sure warranty will work if you don't want to wait on the fix.

Is the Moto g WiFi radio causing interference in phone calls???

Has anybody had a problem with people hearing you when making or receiving a call while your Wi-Fi is connected to the internet??? It seems when I go into my settings and shut it off. They tell me it sounds better. I'm using CDMA boost mobiles version of the moto g.

I have Boost also with the Moto G and I havent really had that issue, but I am having the issue that at random times I get the "Assisted Dialing Error Invalid mobile country" notification and while that notification is flashing I am unable to receive incoming calls. I have spent hours on the phone with Boost and Motorola and the issue has not be resolved and neither can even give me any insight as to what is causing it. I have received a replacement phone from Motorola and it still happens so its not something getting a new Moto G will fix. If you just got the phone my suggestion would be to return it and get some other brand of phone before you are stuck with it.

Maybe try doing a factory wipe of the phone. And when you sign into your Google account don't restore data back to the phone. Start fresh... or install and app called anycut from the play store. You can create shortcuts on your home screen of some hidden phone menus. Maybe in them hidden menus there maybe a option to shut that off.

Yeah I have done about 100 factory restores. Boost basically gave up trying to help and said to contact motorola. Motorola basically gave up and said contact Boost. Motorola offered to replace the phone but the 2 options they gave were either I put up a $100 deposit and they will ship me a new phone and then refund the money when the receive this phone, or I ship them my phone and then they send me a replacement. Since this is the second Moto G that I have had I know replacing the phone isn't what needed. I have also tried CM on the phone and that didnt solve the the issue with incoming calls but it did get rid of the notification message. My suggestion if you want to keep the phone is try to get a goolge voice number so that way if you start missing calls you will get an email letting you know someone tried to call.

Well so far I haven't had the problems you've had. I have been getting my calls and I never seen a notification pop up like that. I would sell it on eBay and buy a lg volt. lol

Yeah I have gotten a cheap ATT phone I am going to try on Straight Talk for a little while and if it works good enough I am going to buy a Nexus 5. I would not feel right selling this phone to someone. I may just let my kids play games on the phone.

Placed my VZW sim in T-Mobile iPhone despite replacing sim still don't get 4G data

So I don't know what I was thinking, but last week while on the T-Mobile test run I tried to use the T-Mobile iPhone sim in my m8. I also tried using the VZW sim in the T-Mobile iPhone. Nothing worked. This isn't the problem.
After putting the VZW sim back in my m8, I no longer got 4G and my data connection kept dropping. This Sunday I spend 2 hours at the Verizon store trying to get them to resolve the issue. The idiot at the Verizon store tried to resolve the issue for over an hour using the original sim. After me begging him to stop wasting time and just replace the sim, the issue is still not resolved.
When he originally checked my phone in the database it was coming up as something like "Unknown device" which I'm assuming was caused by placing my sim in the T-Mobile iPhone. After replacing the sim, the IMEI and everything else seemed to be matching according to the guys at Verizon, but I still don't have 4G and data keeps dropping..
Any ideas?
I'm running a GPE rom so I'm wondering if I have to go back to stock to resolve this issue...
Probably need to flash stock recovery and do a factory reset from it. Might not need to fully flash back.
I had this same issue. I would love to fix it but I moved to a OnePlus One on T-Mo. I'd love to get this resolved though.

Unlocked T-Mobile Data and Reception Dropping in and Out

I picked up an unlocked T-mobile G5 and I'm using it for AT&T... The rep at the store applied the APN setting for ATT but I noticed after I got a new SIM installed and went home the reception and data connection started dropping in and out.
Basically, when the phone is sleeping and then I wake it starts searching for network then gets reception then get a signal for a couple mins then drops again and searches. Since it's a T-Mobile phone on an ATT network is there certain settings that I need to turn off like VoIP, WIFI calling etc? Any ideas?
Wipe out all existing APNs and start from scratch? Use the NXTGENPHONE APN. I'm using an unlocked T-Mobile H830 LG G5 on AT&T and I have no problems. My sister's Nexus 6 uses the same APN no problems either.

So I followed your steps.. I wiped all existing APNs and entered the APN setting in the link you provided and used the NXTGENPHONE APN but I couldn't get data but just had reception to make calls. So I changed the name to AT&T and the APN name to phone and I get data and reception but it still drops in and out.
I went to ATT to see what they could suggest but the only thing they offered was maybe a faulty SIM card and switched it out but it's still doing the same thing... Has anyone experienced this? Should I do a factory reset maybe? If I do that, I won't lose SIM unlock right?

I was going to suggest a factory reset as a last resort. You won't lose the sim unlock; it's permanent unlock.
Troubleshooting is the name of the game and you'll have to keep having to try potential solutions until it's fixed.
Hopefully it's not a hardware issue with the radio or you'll have to swap it out and reunlock it all over again.
are you on 10A or 10D?
10D seems to improve the radio... but if you wan root/twrp make sure you do all that on 10A first before upgrading to 10D.
also, have you tested the phone in different areas? or just at your house and immediate area? perhaps it's just an issue in specific locations? what if you drive across town or something?

Performed a factory reset and issue is still there but slightly improved but I need to test it more... Basically, when I wake the phone it searches for network (not all the time but here and there) then locks a signal..

Is your Network mode set to GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto? If it's not area specific it might be hardware related.
How did you get the 10D update on AT&T btw?

Yes, my network mode is set to that setting. The person I purchase this phone from had T-Mobile and updated before they sold it to me.

Last thing to try is Mobile networks>Network operators>Search networks. Maybe manually choosing one might help? Enable Data Roaming?
Could be a hardware issue if not software.

Yeah, I tried that too.. Got back from Tmobile and they said that another person experienced the same issue couple weeks ago and they said that some G5s that are unlocked and used on different networks are still trying to jumping back on the tmobiles phone network hence my phone searching signals off and on...
Just wanted to give another confirmation that the LG-H830 works perfectly on AT&T (H83010D [BL,modem, system], rooted, unlocked). I gave up on Verizon and my fiancé now uses it on AT&T. She loves it!
Geez.. I got scammed. The person looks like they file a insurance claim on the phone so my ESN is blacklisted! Great! Lesson learned the hard way. Any suggestions what I can do? I saw that people are buying bad ESN phone on ebay as long as I post that it's a bad ESN.
OP, I had the exact same problem on T-Mobile after doing a temporary unlock. I took it to a T-mobile store and they tried swapping the SIM but that didn't help so they did a warranty replacement. Two days later I had a new phone and everything works again. I didn't (and won't) try to SIM unlock it again.

I have heard of people getting past blacklist. Think you can pay to fix it.

I did some research online on blacklist repairs but do you or can anyone give me some recommendations on it? Sucks cause even if I get it repaired I wondering if I still will have issues with the reception..
Anyone tried this site? http://www.imeifix.com/
I just tried the sim unlock as well. I'm a tmobile customer so I really didn't have a reason to do it. Just wanted to see if it would unlock.
Well it said it could not be unlocked and I, out of dumb curiosity tried the temporary unlock. It worked and said it is unlocked until August. I think roughly 30 days after I did it.
Well, later that day or the next my phone started doing the same exact thing. Signal dropping and searching. Furthermore though, I woke up to a warm phone today. Same as it gets when doing lots of app updates. I unplugged it from the charger and watched the battery drop 4% in only 15 minutes of standby (screen off, not using the phone).
I just flashed it back to stock and relocked the boot loader and will see if it fixed it. Was running rooted 10d when this happened.
I'm starting to think that sim unlock app is evil or something. I haven't put my sim card back in as of yet but will update if it starts acting up when I do.
Possible explanation?:
I noticed a T-Mobile diagnostic app try to gain root access during the weirdness which I had never seen before. Maybe the sim unlock gains a sudo root to do the unlock but on a rooted phone with a non stock root manager causes the unlock app to endlessly loop trying to gain access and thus cause a warm phone and signal dropouts? Just a hunch but would be interested to see what others think.
*** Ok so quick update, I put my tmobile sim back in and the signal is dropping in and out again. The phone worked fine before I tried the unlock. This is so uncool.
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I think I may have isolated the cause. I disabled the device unlock app in app settings and rebooted. Since then I haven't noticed the signal drop out.
EDIT: Yeah, that's a big nope. I'm still experiencing the problem after a total wipe and reflashing using LGUP refurbish mode. It's still dropping in and out, sometimes three times per minute. +1 to never use device unlock app.
I'm on stock unrooted 10d btw.
Oh, and the same SIM card works just fine in my older phones.

For what its worth, Att doesn't use the exact same bands as t Mobile....you might want to research some threads on the Att LG G5.

April update issues

I have a peculiar issue. Some people seem to have something similar. After April update I can no longer send or receive mms. Can't send or receive pictures. I also can't use Google maps or Waze unless wifi is on and am using a separate hot spot. I have factory reset and restored twice. I got desperate enough to take it to official Samsung store and they did a factory wipe. Same problem After restore. I spent half hour with carrier trying different APN settings to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just an update... apparently my sim card expired... even though I prepaid the plan. I have an obsolete plan from a mvno. When Samsung sent April update it apparently was no longer compatible. June update didn't fix the issue. Carrier sent me a replacement sim. Technician had to downgrade me to 2g. Sim reset. Went to 3g and reset again. Updated to lte/ 2g/3g automatically selected. Finally got 5g/ lte/ 3g/2g all working. Data is fine now. If anyone has this problem, check with your carrier for a replacement sim.
