I have XT925 International Version of Razr HD and I rooted using motochopper. It worked. You can find info here in XDA.

Are you planning on running stock recovery? OUDHS rooted for me after I flashed it... wasn't going to bother with stock at all but when I went in to make a nandroid it detected no root & prompted to see if I'd like to root, after which I made a titanium backup as well before cracking into some ROM's - worked like a charm. I assume CWM/TWRP does something similar. Rogers/Fido XT925.

Hello! I bought XT925 just a few days ago. It had JB 4.1.2 out of the box. I tried to root it for a few times without a sucess using several different methods found on the internet. Then I was sucessful with ˝motochopper¨ ! This is, as far as I know, only method to root XT925 with JB 4.1.2. On other android versions everything will work but on JB 4.1.2 XT925 only motochopper works. Phone works great after the root. Don't worry about using this on your device... Google out ˝motochopper.zip¨ Good luck
I recently rooted my Motorola Razr M XT905 phone. I have not yet unlocked the bootloader as I have not had a reason yet. I cannot seem to find ANY roms any where for my phone (Aussie version). All the roms are for the US variant XT907. I was wondering if anyone knew of any site that I could get roms for my phone. OR if anyone has install a xt907 rom on the xt905 and had no problems.
Thanks!

Hi, I also have the same query, I have rooted and unlocked the bootloader but not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated! cheers!
Hey guys, seeing as jcase and company just released bootloader unlock for the max I was thinking of upgrading.
Just wanted to know what I need to look for in system information before I buy the device to ensure it can be unlocked with sunshine.
I know it has to be on Android 4.4.3 or lower to obtain root. From what it looks like sunshine requires just root to work correctly. Is there anything else? Does anyone know if write on the /system partition is needed to?
Also is which root method should be used for 4.4.x moto devices (with the exception of 4.4.4)
I know about the slap/pwn my moto and pie.
Thanks.

PLEASE use search before posting "How to root (insert phone model & version here)". There are literally dozens of posts that actually answer your question. Have a good day..
EDIT: I'll throw you a bone; there are currently no free methods for unlocking Ultra/Maxx phones at the moment
I'll do one better there are currently no root methods free or paid if your on 4.4.4.

I can't seem to find any way possible to root my android ultra Verizon. Is it even possible. I've tried everything!
Plz help someone IDC who but some on who knows what they are doing. I've Jail broken IPhones and IPods but Androids seem a lot harder.

There is no known root method for 4.4 4 on the ultra.
In case you haven't realized, the Droid Maxx and Ultra are incapable of being rooted. Don't listen to any one who says its possible or they're working on a root, because they can't. Unfortunately these were the first series of android devices that simply cannot be rooted due to millitary grade security.

From everything I have read about the Droid Ultra / Maxx / Mini, the only known root is for versions below 4.4.4 but not including 4.4.4. When I got mine used, I spent weeks looking online to find one that had not been upgraded yet and finally found some on swappa.
I had read in a few places that if you get a 4.4 image (not 4.4.4) from Motorola's website and followed their instructions that it 'might' be possible to downgrade it to 4.4, but not any lower than 4.4 however I have not tried it and do not know if it works.

It would be nice if we could downgrade to 4.4. is there someone who is trying to downgrade?
Rooting, Downgrading, or Exploiting the Droid Maxx/Ultra is impossible at the moment and will be until a developer decides to work on it.
