MX Player no longer 'compatible' with ANY amazon devices since last update - MX Player

Since the latest Amazon app store release, MX player is no longer compatible with ANY amazon device. It looks like the minimum operating system for MX Player in the Amazon appstore is now 6.0? Amazon devices don't even have a version 6.0 yet. Fire OS is 5.x. I own quite a few amazon devices (Newest Kindle FIre 7, Fire TV, fire stick, Fire TV 2) and MX player doesn't list on ANY of them as available anymore since August 21, 2016.
Can we please get the minimum fixed so it can be installed on the latest amazon devices please?
Minimum Operating System: Android 6.0 is now listed in the amazon app store:

Thanks for let us know, fixed apk will be uploaded soon.

oh man. Thank-you! Now maybe I can get my kids to stop yelling at me about their movies.

Will there be a pro version in the Amazon store ever? I'd like to purchase one. Just wondering.

I have some important videos saved on MX Player on my Kindle Fire. Does this mean I won't be able to access them anymore? Please let me know any possible way I can access these again. It keeps telling me to update but there's no button to update from in the store.

[Q][Closed] N7 2012 on Lollipop

Trying to get MX Pro running on My son's N7 2012. I own Pro from the app store, and found that the play store build doesn't support 5.0 yet, so I downloaded the test build from: https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build
I installed MX Player Pro and the Tegra 3 Codec.
MX Crashes and won't start, so I downloaded the non Pro, and it starts/plays just fine. I'm guessing that as a Play store Pro user it might be a license issue, or is it something else?
Thanks,
Nevermind... I should have read through the other thread all the way through. I see I'm not alone. Please ignore.

Kodi on Android Play Store

It's no longer necessary to sideload Kodi.
The Kodi team has created a google+ testing group. Here's the link to the Alpha testing. . Join the group, become a tester, install from the play store.
I had to uninstall the old version before installing through the play store. Backup before switching.
appreciate the heads up.
its doesn't see my adt-1 to install on
Having this officially on Android TV would be cool...
This is brilliant news, downloaded last night, runs like a dream, unfortunately only at 50Hz (see my other post) so you get juddering and not smooth playback but hopefully google should fix this
Did as mentioned in 1st post. but it is not showing up on the main screen
Downloaded...Kodi thanks
It's been a looong time since I set up (xbmc).....anyone have pointers.....like how to go to repositories. ...etc....thnx
I did this a week ago, i had to stop using it because while using Lollirock (which allows volume control) for some reason it shows both android volume and kodi volume when i raise or lower it which is somewhat annoying.
I looked it up and they did this intentionally so android handles the volume now. I wish they would just get rid of the UI if that is the case.
Installing now
looks like it's not on the play store anymore.

You need to sign up for the beta using the links in OP. It shows up just fine for me.
It is working perfectly here
should i be able to install the beta version as per https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/101953908499318548671 on my nexus player?
i signed up to the beta, agreed, got the link and used it to install on my nexus player.
the play store page now says it's installed, but there is nothing on my nexus player.

Sounds to me like you've run out of available space on your Nexus Player. If you try to install an app to your NP from the Play Store via a PC, the PC version of the Play Store isn't technically "local" to your Nexus Player, therefore it has no idea how much available space your NP may/may not have. All it does is process your installation request. Whether or not it REALLLYY is installed or not, the Play Store via PC isn't quite that intelligent yet and has no clue.
I've actually had this same thing happen to me several different times as well. Each time I was out of space and didn't realize it beforehand. Check to see if that may be the problem. :good:
nope, i had around 2GB free.
it eventually appeared on the nexus player about 1 hour later after i clicked install.
having the same problem with ES File Explorer, but as of yet that still hasn't appeared on the nexus player, and i selected to install it around the same time as kodi.
Installed a few days ago on my Nexus 10, works fine. Waiting for my box I ordered from Amazon.

MX Player is awesome, but Kids Lock says "currently unavailable" when I try to download to my Kindle Fire? Any idea why?

This is due to systemic fault of Amazon Appstore.
Amazon Appstore forces to select supported Kindle devices on uploading APK, which means, all new devices released after APK upload are automatically set as "unsupported device".
And Kids Lock APK is not changed since first release on 2012..
Alternatively, you can install Kids lock APK directly from https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/download
We will try integrating this plugin on MX Player on next version.
Can you please re-upload to Amazon? You cannot side-load apps to a Kindle Fire and use them in Free Time (kids profiles), and I would like to use the kids lock plugin when my kids watch movies on their tablet.
Any ETA on when the integration might happen? I really love MX Player, and would even be willing to pay for the plug-in if it was available on the current release of Fire Tablets.

That's interesting; I didn't know that the Kindle disallowed sideload. I guess re-upload is the only option.
I'm very interested in this too. I have a 7" Fire tablet and want to do the same thing. Thank you!
any update on this?

If your devices has android 6, then try MX Player 1.8.9. If your device is running on Lollipop & below try MX Player Beta 2.
It doesn't need kids lock app anymore.

Pro version is not supported in Amazon devices due to the modification they have done on android account management system.

Nvidia Shield 2019 - Remote not reacting in MX Player Pro

Hi Everyone,
I recently made the switch from my 2017 shield to the new for my media consumption. I've never really had issues with the program till now. MX Player Pro boots up and I can accept the terms but then when the Folders view open I'm stuck and none of my remote buttons do anything. I can't navigate to the menu etc. Anyone experienced this before and knows a solution? I've tried the official APK from the play store since I purchased the pro version but also the APK from the official website.
I'd like to start using it again so any tips are welcome (It's probably something really stupid that I'm overlooking lol).
Current Older versions of MX Player do not navigate properly in android TV layout (Video here). You need a menu or "hamburger" button to navigate the app with a remote. A different input device like a gamepad, keyboard, or phone may help
I'm having the same problem running MX Player Pro version 1.32.8 (installed from the Play store) on my "Chromecast with Google TV" device (the app is installed on the device, not casting from another device). There is no hamburger menu and the D-Pad buttons on the remote control do nothing, so MX Player Pro is unusable.
I've tried installing MX Player 1.34.5 (i.e. the non-Pro, free, advertising-supported version), also via Play Store, and that works correctly. I'd prefer to use the Pro version that I've paid for though.
I've opted in to the beta version on the Play Store yesterday, but it's still on 1.32.8 with no updates available.
It'd be much appreciated if the Pro version could be updated to resolve this issue please, thanks very much!
I've just received an update to MX Player Pro (Beta) version 1.34.5 (so now the same number as the non-Pro version) on my Chromecast with Google TV device and unfortunately the problem is still there.

Its been fixed in beta 1.35. Beta fixes should be added to the pro version eventually
I've just spotted that it's mended for me now on my Chromecast with Google TV, running MX Player Pro 1.36.11. Thanks very much for fixing it!
