Trying to get MX Pro running on My son's N7 2012. I own Pro from the app store, and found that the play store build doesn't support 5.0 yet, so I downloaded the test build from: https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/translation/test-build
I installed MX Player Pro and the Tegra 3 Codec.
MX Crashes and won't start, so I downloaded the non Pro, and it starts/plays just fine. I'm guessing that as a Play store Pro user it might be a license issue, or is it something else?
Thanks,
Nevermind... I should have read through the other thread all the way through. I see I'm not alone. Please ignore.

Hi,
According to AndroidPolice and other sources (sorry, can't link), Android 4.4.3 is coming.
Will MX Player work on this version or is an update necessary?
Thanks!
Sure, no reason why it should not work. MX Player requires Android 2.1 and above...

I can't add a link because I'm a new user, but there was a relatively long delay (more than a week if I understand correctly) until Android 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 support was added when they were released. Users got a dialog saying "Unsupported android version" and MX Player wouldn't load. Only when MX Player v1.7.21 was released it started working again.
You can Google "mx player unsupported android version" for references.
I just want to know the current version already supports Android 4.4.3 or is it going to show the same error.

Actually that was not a version issue but an incompatibility issue with Android internal module.
MX Player uses many Android private modules to improve playback performance.
Sometimes this private modules changes and then this message will be showed up.
In that case, audio module was changed so the developer has been forced to rewrite entire audio output codes.
That's why there was a delay.
MX Player will be compatible with android 4.4.3 if there is no major changes in Internal Module.
ktsamy is correct. Even if the developer ( @bleu8888 ) were to force compatibility, it could potentially result in no audio at all for example.
In previous versions, most problem was from incompatibility of audio output module.
With the latest version of MX Player, the compatibility was improved. Therefore I hope it works without additional patch.
There is of course no way to say for sure but going by the details that were leaked this will be a minor update and certainly not a big overhaul.
I doubt android devs will have tampered with those modules again since quite a few apps rely on those and it's not worth breaking compatibility again unless they're having to make some major changes.
[WIP] Unsupported Android Version Error on 4.4.3
..so please update the app to support it! Getting the typical "Unsupported android version" message.

Google keeps on changing it's internal modules. That's why we are facing problems. Wait for the update.

Would you send system log using MX log collector after launching MX Player and getting "unsupported.." message?
4.4.3 is not yet available either on my device and Android emulator.
MX Log collector is available on Google play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.logcollector

I got upgrade myself. Please don't send log.

Developer is working on it. Will update the app as soon as possible...!!
When will an update be available?
I paid for this app and now cannot use it. When will it be updated?
Definitely does not work in 4.4.3. In fact it is the only app of the 189 that I've opened tonight on my phone that doesn't work in 4.4.3. All 188 other apps at least open.

I've been using BS player whenever a new version of Android comes out and therefore MX stops working.
I can never remember which version of vlc works on my phone.

MX Player relies on lot of android's internal modules for better performance. In the last update there was a change in audio module which was preventing the player from run.
This time it's graphics module which prevents the mx from run.
As I already said, the developer is already working on it. it will be patched as soon as possible.

Trivia question for you: when was the last update to Android that didn't break mx?
The speculation on the old mx support forum whenever there was a new version was that mx would automatically stop working whenever a new version came out - in other words, it was testing version numbers. Is this not true?
Nexus 5
Confirmed.
MX Player not working on Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.3.
Using built-in Video player till updated version is released.
My mobile Huawei U8110, recently updated mx player and since then it wasn't playing videos. Then I reinstalled 2,3 times with codecs but no success.
When I go to market now below is written "Version 1.7.28" and size 8.78 MB
I doesn't let me install, returns with error "incompatible update".
Before 3-4 days I was happy with MxPlayer as it was working pretty good. Don't remember earlier version installed but it must be 1.7.24 maybe.
Please help me guys, there is no other video player on market according to my android version.

No reply? developers atleast reply something.

Try to un install & reinstall from play store
I don't think anything fundamental changed in MX to cause a version drop.
Since the latest Amazon app store release, MX player is no longer compatible with ANY amazon device. It looks like the minimum operating system for MX Player in the Amazon appstore is now 6.0? Amazon devices don't even have a version 6.0 yet. Fire OS is 5.x. I own quite a few amazon devices (Newest Kindle FIre 7, Fire TV, fire stick, Fire TV 2) and MX player doesn't list on ANY of them as available anymore since August 21, 2016.
Can we please get the minimum fixed so it can be installed on the latest amazon devices please?
Minimum Operating System: Android 6.0 is now listed in the amazon app store:

Thanks for let us know, fixed apk will be uploaded soon.

oh man. Thank-you! Now maybe I can get my kids to stop yelling at me about their movies.
Will there be a pro version in the Amazon store ever? I'd like to purchase one. Just wondering.
I have some important videos saved on MX Player on my Kindle Fire. Does this mean I won't be able to access them anymore? Please let me know any possible way I can access these again. It keeps telling me to update but there's no button to update from in the store.
Guys,
Have a problem.
I have installed the MX player straight from Play Store to my mobile. I can see and enable the equalizer.
When I download the MX Player from Play Store (same source) to my Android Box, I'm unable to see the equalizer.
I have scoured all over the internet but am unable to find any sort of fix/advises.
Can someone help me?
Thanks.

We regret to inform you that equalizer is not yet available on TV devices. However, we will highlight this with our relevant team and do our best to support it in the future.
Thank You.

Hi Mate,
Thanks for the update . But what puzzles me is that I have 2 android boxes running on the same version on MX Player version 1.10.52 . The latest android box which I have purchased which is running on Android Version 9 which is having this issue.
My older android box which is running on Android Version 6.0.1 seems to be working fine.
Hi Everyone,
I recently made the switch from my 2017 shield to the new for my media consumption. I've never really had issues with the program till now. MX Player Pro boots up and I can accept the terms but then when the Folders view open I'm stuck and none of my remote buttons do anything. I can't navigate to the menu etc. Anyone experienced this before and knows a solution? I've tried the official APK from the play store since I purchased the pro version but also the APK from the official website.
I'd like to start using it again so any tips are welcome (It's probably something really stupid that I'm overlooking lol).
Current Older versions of MX Player do not navigate properly in android TV layout (Video here). You need a menu or "hamburger" button to navigate the app with a remote. A different input device like a gamepad, keyboard, or phone may help
I'm having the same problem running MX Player Pro version 1.32.8 (installed from the Play store) on my "Chromecast with Google TV" device (the app is installed on the device, not casting from another device). There is no hamburger menu and the D-Pad buttons on the remote control do nothing, so MX Player Pro is unusable.
I've tried installing MX Player 1.34.5 (i.e. the non-Pro, free, advertising-supported version), also via Play Store, and that works correctly. I'd prefer to use the Pro version that I've paid for though.
I've opted in to the beta version on the Play Store yesterday, but it's still on 1.32.8 with no updates available.
It'd be much appreciated if the Pro version could be updated to resolve this issue please, thanks very much!
I've just received an update to MX Player Pro (Beta) version 1.34.5 (so now the same number as the non-Pro version) on my Chromecast with Google TV device and unfortunately the problem is still there.

Its been fixed in beta 1.35. Beta fixes should be added to the pro version eventually
I've just spotted that it's mended for me now on my Chromecast with Google TV, running MX Player Pro 1.36.11. Thanks very much for fixing it!
