Iam looking at swapping my isocell camera sensor out to the sony camera sensor. I already took the phone apart and swapped the sensor out but it would not recognize it.
I wish I know alot more about hacking into the software of the phone but i do not can any body maybe make a flashable zip with the sony sensor software? I am willing to pay for your hardwork.

O_O Did you confirm with anyone before doing this, as in whether this is even possible? Sounds like a very dangerous and costly game you are playing.
Youll need to either go through the samsung hidden menu and update camera driver or maybe reflash full firmware with 4 part files

I thought this would be a straight swap. I intended to do the same before I installed my battery cover, but I didn't have the patience to buy/wait for the Sony camera.

Smart stay app from the GS3 is very interesting and something that we need for our beloved G Note.
Many apps from GS3 have been ported to Note like the Svoice but I have not seen any single thread where there is a mention of the Smart Stay.
Are developers working on porting the Smart Stay to Note ??
Please this is something that will surely improve our experience with the Note
I am sorry but what its all about
i thing GNote have not sensor .
I bet it makes use of the front camera, so no special sensor is required.
@deadlyheart4u it's a feature that will prevent the screen from turn off (sleep) if the system detects your eyes are busy reading something on screen. Clever huh?

Even I feel the same that is only n using the front camera. Hope someone it's able to clear doubts

It's using front camera, after timeout settings time is reached, you will see a short "blink" of the screen, and the camera sensor takes over "timeout" function.
check Engadget's review of the phone (the video).
I tried the phone myself and it is not using the frontcamera, since this would use too much battery. They have placed 2 sensors next to the camera that are using low power/battery compared to the camera.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
It can't be the sensors, as those 2 are proximity sensor and light sensor.
Even on the release they said it used the camera.
it is indeed the front camera that checks ur eyes...
as i saw..it works from browser...maybe the browser has this feature?
It does use the front camera. It works in a similar way to face unlock.

Front Camera + Blink Detection !!
So now that we have how it works is someone working on porting this application to our note.

Well i am expecting smart call also, that is only gesture based, If the msg client is open and you turn you're phone straight means phone should make call.....hoping a quick apk

+1 on that
I would love smart stay on note as well
Yes... Smart stay and smart call.are both great features to have on more.

Common developers, I am sure you guys with your great knowledge will be easily ble to crack it.
Another one i miss is the pick up the phone to your ear to answer a call without touchng the screen
I was quite impressed when I saw / read about this feature. I like to read while on the go (one of the reasons why I got the might Note) and having to switch on the screen every now and then just annoys me. Hopefully somebody will be able to port it or create a replica
I don't know why but people were fast to port the tw but no one seems instated in porting the most useful feature to note.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Why port a small feature when you can just port the whole rom? Still, it doesn't seem like anyone is willing to start porting it.
I've only had my Ace 2 for about a week now but I've noticed if you turn the phone over and tap around the camera area, their is a rattling noise heard.
Is this normal? What causes it?

It's not a software issue mate. Literally hold the phone in your hand and tap with your finger around the camera lense and their is a sort of rattling noise.
I dont hear anything.

I can hear it if I tap quite hard just above the camera. Also the phone has to be in your hand and not on a hard surface.

Odp: Rattle around the camera area.
I think it's the back cover of our device. It's all about friction between plastic and camera.

Yes, under the Led. But i'm sure it's the plastic, take a look under the case. There is quite big gap between led and camera, and this cause noise.

Hmm weird, not sure why mine does this then. It's literally just above the camera lense, tap it over and over with quiet a bit of pressure and it rattles.

Ok so I've looked around on lots of other websites and lots of different types of phone report this issue and apparently it's normal.
Your guys phone is probably rattling when you tap it near the camera but maybe you're just not noticing it like I do...
Ok I've discovered something else and I think this is to do with the camera.
Open the camera, set the auto focus, tap the back of the phone near the camera when the auto focus is locked and you'll hear it rattle even louder.
This must be something to do with the camera/auto focus and from looking at Google it appears to be normal, but can anyone else confirm this please?
Thanks

If it happens when the camra is focusing, I would expect it to be the noise a digital camera makes when it focusses. It happens when you tap the phone because the camera would need to focus again...
... I don't think the Ace II is for you. May I suggest a Nokia 1100?...

It also happens when the camera isn't on though.
I keep getting a message about duo camera lenses being blocked. Does not happen in portrait mood but always in landscape mode it happens while I hold the phone by the very edges. I am inside my house could it be that there is not enough light?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Could there be dust or a fingerprint on one/both of the lenses?
Also if you're using a case, make sure that it isn't covering either lens as well.
No case and I don't see anything on the lens. I guess it's just mine. Contacted HTC and they said it's an app interfering with the camera because when they had me boot the phone into safe mode, the problem does not occur. I don't have anything downloaded that's camera related.

By any chance does that happen when you block the sensor next to the front camera?
Idk why would that matter taking a picture with the rear camera?

If anyone can figure out what app may be interfering, I'd be curious to know as I'm getting this error also. I also don't have any camera apps.
I can cause the message to pop up in auto mode by getting the lens close enough to something where the top lens doesn't see the same thing as the main lens but I'm guessing you weren't very close to anything since you were in landscape mode.

This. I've noticed myself when taking a picture and something is closer to the left side in landscape mode.
The whole reason behind this camera structure is for depth. That is why 1 lens is slightly recessed to the other. Its provides better distinction making it similar to the human eye. Yes, one eye is slightly recessed to the other, allowing this to occur. We are smarter and faster at processing that information better than the phone can, so essentially, if something appears closer to the left lens, it will error out.
Fix, cover both lenses, move camera, uncover.

Duo Camera Blocked
I am also having this issue. My original M8 camera worked fine but I swapped it due to an unrelated issue. Now, whenever I load the camera app, it says "Duo Camera Blocked". Obviously there is nothing in the way and I have no third party camera apps installed. In fact I have the exact same setup as the previous phone which didn't have an issue.
I'm starting to think that this is a hardware issue and will need replacing. Is anyone else seeing this problem?
duo camera is blocked
First sorry for my bad english,
I got the same problem..When i open my camera app it says '' Duo camera is blocked blabalblaa '' even i ddnt cover the duo camera with my fingers..I sent it to Technical service to change with new one and im still waiting the results from service..And i think this problem will be a chronical problem like what happen to m7 ( pink camera ) last year..

Yes my friend
Anyone help it ?
I just got my M8 today, played with it for a couple of hours before unlocking the bootloader. Restored titanium backup after unlocking, everything was fine until I opened the camera. I also keep getting the "duo camera blocked" warning, I tried taking pictures for an hour straight but the warning persists and I can't use U-focus or any other duo feature on every picture I take.
I'm on stock ROM and recovery and unrooted. Tried to restoring factory settings, no success. Just updated to the newest firmware (1.54.401.10) via OTA but still no working duo camera.
Should I sent it back for repairs (with relocked bootloader) or has someone found a solution for this problem?
Hey I started the thread, but I can not explain how my issue as just gone away. But I think I stated I don't use the camera that much but have recently been using it without issue. Strange. When in doubt I would just exchange if that's an option for you.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I know this is probably very obvious, but make sure your finger isn't covering the Duo camera at all. I've had that message a couple times and it was due to my finger blocking it. You won't see it on the screen.
I'm definitely not blocking the second camera. I tried taking pictures in portrait and landscape, inside and outside, with every possible grip, there is no dirt or dust on the lenses, it just doesn't work..
I just got on the phone with customer support, they advised me to sent it back for repairs.
After calling I just noticed something that might explain what's wrong with my phone. If I look very closely at the second camera lens, it seems like it's tilted sideways a couple degrees. I attached a photo taken through a mirror (I don't have another camera at the moment). Can someone confirm that it's not supposed to be this way?
Its hard to tell in the pic, but to me it looks like the Duo is aimed slightly up. Try taking the pic a bit farther back from the mirror and without the case. Also I've found it's very sensitive to fingerprints causing slightly blurry photos, and you have one on the main lens. See if you can get a slightly clearer one.
Here's a better picture, taken with another camera. I drew a red square to show how the lens appears to be tilted.
I'm sending the phone back for repairs tomorrow, I hope they don't make a big deal of the bootloader being re-locked.
I just tried using the Google Cardboard App. When using it, everything jumps around slightly, as if I was shaking. This happens even if I set it up on a table and is perfectly still. Anyone else have this issue? Could it maybe be a bad sensor?
The phone needs to have a 3-axis gyroscope as well as accelerometer. otherwise it won't work right. You can test augmented reality apps or photosphere to see if that works

Does this phone not have a 3 axis gyro? Does everyone with this phone have the same problem?
What apps and functions can be used to test this?

PS: If i am ot mistaken, you can focus by touching the screen
If you've scratched the external lens, just rub some toothpaste on it. It will remove the nano coating, i had a blur image and that solver it.
