Hello,
I have noob question. In order to keep knox 0x0 is it possible to download original firmware, unpack, delete unwanted apps and then rezip and flash over odin as original? I just want to debloat original ROM...
Right now I am using BK Package Disabler!
Cheers

Have you tried flashing the U firmware? It's the US unlocked variant and has zero carrier bloat. http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/xda-community-love-g930u-t3415875
To answer your question, no, you can't really modify the firmware. The way it's packaged up it's not like there's a file structure where you can delete a few APKs.
Thanks for explain. I am using international model GT930F.
If you're using F firmware -- that would mean you're on the Exynos CPU variant, right? If so, you have lots of options. Root, unlocked bootloader, etc.
Yes but right now I am trying to keep know 0x0 due warranty issue.

Hi,
I am using samsung galaxy S5 SM-G900R7, i am able to root this phone then started trying flashing of custom boot.img contating custom zImage. ODIN is showing successful flashing , but when i am restarting its always going in download mode with error message "couldn't do normal boot" . In download mode there is a line "QUALOCM SECUREBOOT : ENABLE". I doubt this is beacuse of locked bootloader.
I want to know is it really beacuse of locked bootloader?
I downloaded kernel for my phone model from samsung official website mentioned below and built in same way they have given instruction, so i ahve less doubt on custom zImage.
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=900r7
if yes then i have second question is it unlockable or not, i am not getting any unlocking method for samsung galaxy S5. whatever info i am getting regarding unlocking is upto galaxy S3 but not helpful for galaxy S5. PLease help me to come to a final conclusion on flashing custom zImage to phone.

As far as I'm aware most Samsung devices if not all have unlocked bootloaders, as for a soloution I haven't seen anything really but some say you need to re-flash stock then try from scrath or make a backup after reflashing stock and a custom recovery then format and restore to get it working.

Thanks a lot for your reply,
I searched regarding this and i found latest samsungs are coming with KNOX security in which SECUREBOOT is there, which doesn't allow phone to boot with any boot image if chacksum value doesn't match. so i feel even if bootloader is not locked here but same thng KNOX security is doing. Help me if you have any idea how to disable it in samsung galaxy S5. Getting way how to disable in previous series but not finding method how to do for galaxy S5.

Hi,
Yesterday night you posted a link, that link was good but still my requirement is different.Yesterday i was not able to go through whole link you provided to me, today i was reading the whole article. its looks like they are trying to save warrany of phone even after flashing custom ROM. They are deleting bootloader contents of flashing ROM, even i will flash custom ROM with deleted bootloader contents, In phone bootloader will remain same with KNOX SECUREBOOT feature. My target is to flash with KNOX disabled bootloader so it will not stop booting with custom zImage.

Actaully that link was removing KNOX from firmware which you are going to flash not from phone if you have already KNOX is there. That is for if your mobile is not having KNOX and you dont want KNOX when you are going to flash with recent updated firmware so you can delete KNOX contents from firmware and can flash.

Hmm, it appears it not possible due to it having a locked bootloader/KNOX not being removable

Hello Everyone,
before all, sorry for my english.
I'm new and noob in Samsung-World.
I just bought the Edge, flashed recovery and rooted.
If I want to go back to full stock, I need just to flash with Odin?

There are other methods, but this is easiest way.
Knox counter efuse will still be tripped 0x1 though.
Just download your original firmware from sammobile and flash it with odin...make sure you got the right model for your phone...like g...s...etc..
Sent from my SM-N915G
why you want to unroot it ,Knox counter tripped already to 0x1 so if you flash the original rom you will lose the root and they will know it's rooted before

i want to start from scratch with a bone stock phone. i will be rooting again but i want to do it all myself. i got the phone already rooted and not sure exactly what the previous owner has flashed as far as kernals or firmwares or what. it seems to be running stock rom but i just want to start all over with it
i looked at the sammobile page and there are two firmwares one with a region xas and one with a region spr. i don't know what the difference is and don't want to flash the wrong thing. last time i tried to download from sammobile website for my note 4 as a free user it was a super super slow download
Hi
noob question, but I guess better safe than sorry
let's say I don't wanna root or modify my device, just want to flash genuine Samsung firmware with ODIN
how can I verify that the package is signed and doesn't include modified stuff that will trip Knox?
for example, I'm downloading firmware from here
http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyS6/SM-G920F
if (by accident or not) someone uploaded modified package - it would trip knox
md5 check won't help in this case.
any other way to check if it's signed?
or will ODIN prompt me when trying to flash unsigned img?
tried searching for the answer first, but didn't find conclusive answer.
Thanks in advance
I don't really understand the nature of the new root method, but as I understand it has something to do with FRP? And it doesn't trip knox. Is the same exploit available for the Exynos international s7? I am finding answers very hard to get ahold of so I thought I would just ask the community on this one.
I'd like to avoid tripping knox if possible.
Yes, you just need the exynos files. One guy posted that the kernel runs all cores at full speed though, so your battery life will suffer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67624518&postcount=561
Wow, that's awesome! It should really be its own thread, since I feel like folks don't really know about it and it's a totally different root method. There are ways around the engboot kernel issues I believe.
This thread has a bunch of info and scripts on this method for the snapdragon phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
This is basically completely unconfirmed, and no one in that thread has said that it is working. We need more hands on deck here. I think i'll turn this into it's own thread. Posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/knox-exynos-root-method-via-engkernel-t3423438
This method won't get you a custom recovery or anything cool like that, but it will get you root. I'd absolutely settle for xposed in the stock rom though, if it meant KNOX wasn't tripped.
OK, I paid one click root to root my phone. (Definitely wasn't a one click root method but it worked.) My phone g930a is rooted and it did not trip knox.

hi mate
If you just want to change your csc there is no need to root your phone , just need to flash the correct csc
read here:

Even if you do not have a Exynos the basics apply

This does not apply for multi-csc firmwares. You need root to change csc when using a multi-csc firmware.

Hi,
As I have no need for Dual-SIM functionality,
I would like to install the Single-SIM Official ROM on my G930FD.
Will it even work? Will I trip Knox?
Thx in advance.
Up! I'm interested too!
Does not trip knox, but dual sim capability is also in the F rom.
However I can't activate my knox, it says custom os was installed before. I read on forums several people had this problem, and usually a factory reset fixes it, but I did not tried yet. (maybe it has nothing to do with installing the F rom, but using odin.

I have an FD and samsung pay and my knox works just fine on the XSG csc. Maybe it's because you have been rooted?

Samsung pay is the big one. Also newest updates. Dual SIM shows up in settings, so I assume it works just fine. I tried it once, but didn't really "live with it" to have any experience with it.

I did not root. Is it possible to root without tripping knox?
But I have a feeling I made a mistake by flashing only the AP file and skipping BL, CP, CSC.
I will have to start flashing again

Yeah that's why. You have the flash the entire firmware if I understand correctly. And you can root without tripping knox, but I don't think there is a way to defeat the authentication mechanism and use rooted apps and knox/pay apps while rooted.

When using Odin to flash a G930F stock rom and changing to a european CSC - did you check Re-Partition or not?
And even before that - was it necessary for you to enable USB Debugging and/or OEM Unlocking?
