Hi,
I bought a Huawei Y6 for my dad. Since his eyes are not so good I set the font size in the display settings to Large. With my Moto G this scales the font almost everywhere. However in Emui 3.1 only some of the fonts are scaled up. For example the small fonts in the settings still stay the same (small) size. Also, the notification font is really small. Is there any workaround for this without rooting the device?
Thanks
Tobias
Look for additional font size settings if there aren't any more then root is the only possibility

anyone know why when i change the font size in spare parts it quickly reverts to the default settings? it seems to change all fonts size but doesnt last long. once it changed right before my eyes just by rotating the phone to landscape. weird. would love to be able to make the font slightly smaller because one of my widgets gets cut off a little and a smaller font size fixes this. also, im not 80 years old and dont need a huge font to read. thanks
User Friendly
This is actually so ridiculous. 'Not so smart' phones like BB has at least 20 fonts to choose from and allows to make a choice for font size. I dont understand the so called open Android can not not have a simple setting like Font selection and size!!!
So much for open system and user friendliness!!!!
I am rather furstrated with the font size for this screen. i have it set to small and things are rather large as if the font is set to normal.
this phone has high resolution and a good ppi so it should be no problem shrinking things on the screen.
is there a utility or program that can do this? being this a miui based rom it'd be a disaster tinkering with it.
Curious to see what people prefer for display settings and customization.
I set my display to.:
Font size: Large
Display size: small
Smallest width is set to 423dp
I also was messing around with font packs and really liked roboto light and noto sans.
I find that apps like Chrome seem to display the layout better with these settings,.
What do you set yours to and do you have any tips for better reading, layout, fonts or whatever?
Cheers!
I will keep it in mind
Hi, I bought a P30 the one that came with Android 9 and EMUI 9. I updated it to Android and EMUI 10, but notice a change in the font size. The smaller font in EMUI 10 is bigger than the minimal font in EMUI 9. Another problem is that the settings menu also got bigger, with separate and bigger icons and sections. To reduce the size, increase the dpi of the screen, solving the problem, but obtaining glitches in the home folders.
This is the difference, on EMUI 10 display less objects on display.

How can I reduce the size of the settings menu ?, the icons, or the separation between sections ?.
Thank you!
I like using the Default (Roboto) font but the Samsung font used for the Lockscreen and AOD clock is ugly and has inconsistent spacing. Changing the system font to any other option changes the clock style. When I use a font installer to install Roboto, it does change the clock, but creates an issue where font weight and spacing are incorrect in many apps. Yes, I also tried a variable font version as well. I realize that Samsung is likely using multiple font files to create Default and the font installer is limited. I also tried GoodLock with Clock Face but almost all centered options use the ugly Samsung font too.
Does anyone know how to change just the Lockscreen and AOD clock fonts? Back in the day, someone was able to modify Good Lock to give extra options but I'm hoping there is a simpler solution. Thanks in advance.
Hello. I have the exact same thoughts about the default One UI lockscreen font. Could you please share a bit more details on the Good Lock extra options?
Btw, I did try to install the system font with the Roboto TTF file like you mentioned in the OP and the lock screen looks much better now. I do get your point about "issue where font weight and spacing are incorrect in many apps", but fortunately for me, WhatsApp is the only app where I see this. And it does not look all that bad. So I believe I'm going to stick to this way.
Here's how:
Download 'SetEdit (Settings Database Edit)' from Google Play Store.
Open and find 'theme_font_clock' row, then tap it.
Tap 'Edit Value' and input with your font path addreses (*example: /storage/emulated/0/My Fonts/DS-DIGIB.TTF).
Tap 'Save Changes' and you're done!
Take a look!
*supports .ttf and .otf formats
works without root
Found it on reddit

Confirmed, does NOT work in OneUI 5.0. Was excited too.
I hope there will be another way...
