Don't be too excited folks. I used CM source for tate to bring this build (AOSP source isn't working yet). Plus, I had to tweak Slim source a little bit. When AOSP source will be done, I'll bring new build which should perform better. Some glitches occur, but the ROM does the job. And of course, if you found some bug, post about it here.
I will give this a try tomorrow! Thanks!

If you found Bluetooth issues, please, confirm it. If you didn't flash the ROM, confirm it as well. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR "MIGHT BE". Don't forget, that's a test build. AOSP base is needed to make it work 100% properly.

I'm not sure if it is just me, but I was unable to set up the rom. Everything flashed without an error, but when it got to the setup, all I could see was a small portion of the screen about an inch high x 2" wide right in the center. The text inside the window looked like it was the correct size, but I was unable to move it or enter any information for setup. Do I need to change any settings before flashing?

Try to press on power button then press on power button again. Or tap on this small portion of the screen. I've seen it before. Again, that's a test build, but I'm sure it can do the job even with these little glitches.

The second time's a charm! I have it up and running. Still in setup right now, so I'll try to give some feedback in a day or two. :good:
So far so good! I like how it uses less RAM than others, and it's pretty smooth and responsive. I had to get used to the navigation buttons looking like they were showing that they'd been touched all the time , highlighted I guess would be another way of describing it, but everything's working fine so far. I haven't tested Bluetooth yet. Since I don't use Bluetooth or the camera on my Kindle, that's not a priority. Overall this is a pretty smooth build!! I will be running it for a while. ?

Thank you for your feedback. In the future, it will be even better. Bluetooth should work too. It was just a suggestion by some user, who can't even confirm it. Camera works, I've seen it personally. I found the main problem with AOSP building, probably it's easy to solve it, we'll see. And, honestly, I'm surprised it's a pretty smooth build. Perhaps, I didn't wipe internal storage and some odds occurred.
If somebody can help me bring updated version of Slim6 without glitches, please contact me. You just need to download the source, my branches, change a couple of makefiles, nothing extraordinary. My building machine (laptop) is slow, I'm working on bringing other ROMs, so any compiling help deeply appreciates.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
1. Big thanks to @r3t3ch for unloading my laptop
2. The previous build was removed due to there is no point to let it live.
3. New build still has navbar glitches, but now it's definitely less glitchy. (Must be some specific Slim overlay stuff, will be fixed later)
4. 3.0.101+ kernel replaces 3.0.72+ kernel
5. Bootanimation is fixed

Alex32,
Tried dirty flashing this over your latest 6.01 beanstalk,
which I have been using for a while and like a lot.
Wiped only caches, reinstalled gapps, android system
kept crashing upon reboot. Maybe the newer kernel
requires full wipe?(I know instructions say full wipe), but
I have been dirty flashing different mm builds of yours.
Wondering if I can just flash the new kernel from the rom in twrp
or do you think I will run into the same problem with crashing?
Just can't help myself I'm a flashaholic and wanted to try. Thanks

Slimrom isn't based on cm, so of course it's broken if you do that. Even flashing between cm variants without wiping system isn't a great idea.

Understood, I do realize that's a risk I take by flashing. That's why I have a fastboot cable and backups. I have had a lot of success switching between cm13 variants by dirty flashing without issue.
Didnt realize slim wasnt based on cm. Suppose I could try wiping system this time. Thanks

I'm not even sure it will work cleanly without a data wipe as well, though I understand the inconvenience. I usually use tibu to restore just user apps but if you have a lot of apps that can be time consuming as well.
Also to note, with all builds posted by alexander_32, the bootloader has enabled holding volume down to fastboot (vol up still recovery) so it can make entering fastboot mode a little more convenient.

No offense, but you better help me to make a test build for Slim6, than post stuff like this. And I'll make a test build for Omni today.

GPS seems to be working better. Has me sitting just outside my house.
hopefully i can get tapatalk to work now.
Yep. I'm staying with ladios' test rc4 and kernal. Everything has been working great with it. Stable cm7 still has the GPS problems were I'm looking northeast but still going the right direction. I even flashed the old gps lib. and after that everything seemed slugish. Going baaaackkk nooooo. Lol
gps is still the same takes around 45 seconds to get a 10 meter fix no better and gets worse at random intervals
edit now its sitting @ 25m-jumping aound up to 40-50?
how is this a fix?
The "ladios" solution does not start GPS reliably on all devices all the time- that's where we came from. We had to scrap the HTC libs in favor of something homegrown libs that would - however, without specs it's shooting in the dark. It was not a trivial matter to get what we have. GPS now starts and gets sync reliably, albeit slowly. What's missing with the new libs is the ability to process agps data, we're well aware of the problem and are working on it.
This problem is not unique to Liberty, and I am aware that it's not a closed issue.
The gpslib revert is the only way my navigation works.using them 3-4 second lock 3 meter accuracy. The new libs 90 seconds if I'm not moving,5+ minutes if driving and I could get better accuracy with a compass and sextant.

Yeah, but those libs eventually fail hard on many devices, and it takes a revert to cm6 or stock to unlock GPS and get it going again. That's not a fix, either. These libs don't require that, and will be refined.
I did a nandroid, full wipe of everything, then installed 7.0 stable with the latest gapps, and Google only restored 2 of my apps...lol. clockwork mod and lookout mobile security. Anyone else have problems restoring? I read somewhere that Google is trying for fix this...

Oh man, that sucks that you guys have to work so hard on something that was working pre-CM7. Hopefully you'll be able to get something satisfactory soon. Thanks for all the hard work! CM7 looks to be pretty great and our community wouldn't be going so strong without you guys.
I might be holding off on installing this one. GPS is a pretty important feature for me, but we'll see. Thanks again!

You must wipe system, then factory reset, then wipe delvik... Then flash. In that order. It will work.

You must always "swipe" before flashing the ROM and wipe Dalvik and Cache after or you will have issues. This excludes those who dirty flash in applicable situations.

There is definitely an issue with booting. All I get is the black screen. I have tried 4 clean installs and this will not boot for me. You might take a look at the build and see whats going on. Let me know when it's fixed and i will give it another shot.
Just to double/triple check, I flashed a total of 5 times, each using the "Suggested Flashing Instructions". I had 3 out of 5 tries successful. Not a huge issue, but I'll need to look into it some more. I'll try viktormax3's suggestion to see if it works.

can someone please test out the new build labeled "TEST" and see if data is working or not?

WOAH! Okay tomorrow i'll try to patch things up since i'm off of work. for now stay with cm11 if you really need your phone.
New build uploading, anyone care to test it out for me?
A little update, I'm giving up on this. Way too many bugs and I can't keep up with them due to me not knowing how to fix and me being too busy with school and work. If anyone wants to port roms to this device i can pm you the guide i used. For now, I think I'll just delete the thread

Could be, this phone had to have had one of the longest runs as far as developing is concerned. Now with Sprint on the verge of doing away with WiMaX, I think it's a safe best that this phone will finally be laid to rest lol
If only they would build another bad arse device with a awesome keyboard. Of all the phones I ever owned this was by far my fav. Which is why I just bought a newish one. hopefully I can find valid links to make it the beast its was ment to be.!
I finally got my Epic out of retirement and flash with 4.4.4 and gapps 4.4.2. this combo has the best stab;e and speed, i tried the open-gapps 4.4.4 but i bogged the phone down alot.
btw anyone have a working link to SlimKAT 4.4.4 only one i have used thus far is CM 4.4.4 unofficial

These builds of cm12 are done by various Team Bliss members and other contributors for the m8 and unified into a single thread.
99% of this code is directly from cm12 repos, with some additions and random stuff from us.
This is in its EXTREMELY early stages.
You know the usual warnings and whatever, so let's get to the fun stuff.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Install instructions:
Be on the latest firmware for your carrier
Factory reset in TWRP
Flash rom
Flash gapps
Flash SuperSU (not needed for BlissPop)
Enjoy
I HIGHLY recommend using the latest TWRP by @Captain_Throwback for installation: Download
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=--=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
What works:
Most everything that matters.
What doesnt:
NuPlayer seems to cause issues with streaming music, disable it in developer options (@dshoe)
Do not disturb mode kills sound, reboot to fix @pimpmaneaton)
Stock camera (Connects but does not take pictures) Use Google Camera, it works fine
Probably more, report in thread please.

As per usual I take no responsibility if any of my suggestions cause your device to brick, explode, melt, raise your house payments, shave your dog or pack up and move to the Bahamas.
Placeholder for building instructions, this is where I will post all the changes made to get this working on the m8 so far.
* Sync source from CM github for cm-12.0 repositories (https://github.com/cyanogenmod)
* Add the muppets vendor for HTC to your roomservice.xml (https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_htc)
* Add this change to your device tree: https://github.com/TeamBliss-LP/and...mmit/fe2b5b357cbe64d0991d778bc94b7dd0c7c0b4f5
* You should now be able to build successfully.

Agreed. I'd like to start testing and give feedback with bugs but I'm not sure where. Can we arm wrestle for who's thread becomes official so we can start working together?
Unable to install, or if it does it won't boot....
Says can't mount system during install
When try to boot it just goes to a black screen
Let's let someone else handle it then, I'm tired and don't really care. I just posted this for those unable/unwilling to compile.

Can verify GPS is working as well.

I'm on my way to work so i just give it a quick try to set this build up working. ...perhaps the main reason of failing is the fact, i tried it on multirom secondary slot.
installed newest bliss stalk build as aosp base, booted it one time and did a factory reset afterwards in twrp. ..tried to flash the cm12 right over and got this right away:
(as i said, i m hurring up on my way to work, probably just miss that this version is only for verizon phones? )
Woops my mistake.
I'm about to try and flash now, will report back. Others above that commented, everyone is posting to try and share without hijacking others threads. It is great to see more devs trying to put their spin on the cm12 builds because not all build the same way, thats why some have issues that others may/may not have. Remicks "THANKS" sir.

I say you should keep posting builds and then once everything works you can add your own cherry picks from CM and other ROMs. This way we as end users get options and you as a developer get to learn. The ultimate decision though would be yours.

I was able to get this running. I can confirm that GPS works as well. Have not found any major bugs yet. Flashed on top of latest CM11 nightly. Best working CM 12 I have used thus far.
Show of hands please:
Do you want me to continue posting my builds along with whoever else is doing cm12 or would you rather I just forget it and let someone else handle it?
Thanks.

I've noticed that there is no Camera app icon after flashing ROM. DID SOMEONE TRY TO OPEN ZIP FILE AND REPLACE CAMERA.APK (from CM 12.1, for example)?

I suppose one could do that, but with the state of the devices in CM13 being as they are right now, I doubt it'd be the least of your worries. I'm running an old RR build on the 8.9" counterpart (jem), and while the camera itself works, the camera app embedded in the ROM doesn't. Even if you managed to sideload or otherwise integrate the camera app from a cm12.1 build, it'd be of no use because the camera binaries in the ROM aren't working (likely because of the 3.0.101 kernel bump).

By the way, there were RR tate builds with working camera, so I definitely will try that later. Ok, I'll try to bring 1-2 ROMs based on AOSP and then bring a pure AOSP (because it's not so easy to adapt those branches to pure AOSP as I thought before). Then I'll actually test all these MM options and hopefully, will find some easy solutions.
Downloading this now. I'll give it a clean flash and check it out!

If you don't mind, try to delete Camera2 folder in system/app then flash it and install app like open camera (or google camera) and then let me know if this trick works
By the way, I didn't try to just install open camera alongside camera2 so, please do it either.

I already had it flashed and set up by the time I saw this message, but maybe this weekend, I can delete it and re-flash to see what happens. I can tell you that so far it is very smooth and responsive. I used it last night at my meeting, and the only thing I noticed was that the screen flickered once in awhile. Other than that, it ran great! I never use the camera on the Kindle, so that wasn't an issue for me. If I can get time this weekend, I will try what you asked. :good:

I'm glad for you. As for Camera, I've checked my suggestions already with no success.
I guess the problem is with vendor folder. There no Camera2.apk in CM13 builds. CM13 use Snap Camera now.

Last AICP build can run Google Camera, Open Camera or whatever. If only it was possible to make a camera flashable zip from AICP. I used Meld to see differences between AICP build and last CM13 builds, but I don't see obvious differences with camera files, maybe someone more experienced could do that.
I have a shortlist of CM13 ROMs, by the way, if someone wants to help and have an opportunity to compile CM13 based ROMs go ahead and PM me. I'm focused on building AOSP trees from scratch now, we'll see what happens.
Just wanted to update that I'm still running this rom, and without doing any kernel tweaks, it runs pretty snappy! I may look at doing the low memory killer, but it doesn't really need it. I may stick with this one for some time because it runs so smooth.

I'll definitely bring an update in the future, it's tough for me to compile these things regularly (I have 2 core processor with 4gb of RAM and ccache doesn't work for some reason). I'm working on AOSP for tate at the moment, then, hopefully, will find solutions for CM13 source. So, please, wait. Thanks for understanding.

I need to learn how to compile and help you out. I think I will start to look into building a machine just for that purpose. I'm not too proficient with Linux, so there would be that learning curve to get around first, unless you can use a Windows PC to compile with. I will do some researching. Thanks for doing the builds in the first place!

I've left you a PM.
As for performance, whatever ROM you use, I strongly recommend you and everyone else, before flashing, open .zip file, open system/app, system/priv-app, and delete useless apks (especially Live Wallpapers).
Please, read this article or any other similar.

At this point, I don't use any CM13 based ROM for tate, so I don't know what launcher do you mean. I recommend you to use Smart Launcher (google it), I use it personally (it is simple and effective). You can install any other launcher, off course.
PLEASE, don't bother me with questions like this! If you found some bugs (besides camera bug) - let me know, if you want to help with MM development for tate - send me a PM. As simple as that.
