Does somebody now a way to connect your phone to an external monitor through for example hdmi?
I know there a ways to do it through the network. But I wanted to stream videos without lag or nearly none.
I tried this way:
S7 -> otg -> usb ethernet adapter -> gigabit switch -> gigabit able laptop with hdmi.
With a stream software it's fast. But there is still some good amount of input lag.
The reason I want to play some games with keyboard and mouse on a big screen.
If you know a way tell me.
And if you know ways to further improve my ethernet connection please tell me. Maybe the problem is with rendering the images on s7. I don't know for sure. The ping is on 1 ms between those devices. That's not the problem. And the stream of data is around 2-4 megabytes per second.
s7 dont have hdmi, so it would be tough,
if you still can in some way, then the performane wont be upto the mark its simple
Okay. That's a pitty. So I should better stick than to network solutions. Too bad s7 has only USB 2. ^^

I have an android phone (x10 2.3.3) and I would like to mount it to my Xoom (3.2 hammerhead) wirelessly. When I connect my phone via usb OTG cable it works perfectly but I would prefer to get the same or similar results over wifi or bluetooth. I know there are many different file transfer apps but I dont want to have to download every file, this is mainly for looking at pics and maybe listening to music.
On a side note I have noticed that there are not many apps out there that integrate phones with tablets. I would assume most android tablet users would have an android phone as well. Another thing I would really like to do with my devices would be to use my phone as a mouse to control my tablet via bluetooth or any other wireless means.
I f anyone has some suggestions I would appreciate it after searching high and low for these type of integrated apps.
You can use Astaro to do so. It supports both wireless and bluetooth file transfers.
ok, so i was wondering if i could use android mini pc as a low cost nas solution by using following method.
1) plug in external hdd to mini pc.
2)buy an additional usb to gigabit ethernet adapter and plug the same to mini pc and gigabit router.
3)now install samba app from play store and share hdd from it.
would this create a viable nas solution. ? what speeds could i expect with this? if someone with mini pc could try this out and let me know, it would be very generous of him.
I'm interested in the gigabit USB adapter, any links?
usb to ethernet
It can be easily found on ebay or amazon
gigabit usb adapter and transfer speed
The gigabit adapters I see on ebay are usb 3.0. I don't know about yours, but my device doesn't have usb 3.0. You can plug the network adapter in to a usb 2.0 port, but usb 2.0 has a theoretical max transfer rate of 480 Mbit/s, or 60 MByte/s, and it's never going to be that fast in the real world. The same holds true for the usb hard drive. I think you'd be lucky to get 30 MB/s out of this set up.
But if all you need is 20-30 MB/s, this should work fine. That's probably fast enough to stream an HD video off of tolerably, maybe even two simultaneously. But not if you have more than just one or two users hitting it with data requests at the same time.
CX-919 Android Mini PC
why can i Enable security/Unknown sources on CX-919 Android Mini PC
Anyone attempted?
Did anyone try this? I'm about to...
I've just setup mk808 with KSWEB to use as a home web server (tired of paying for hosting..). Successfully migrated my previously hosted website incl. my sql database. Hoping this device will also double up as a NAS solution so I can stream local content to ROKU 3. I have two googletv's (logitech and vizio) both read from the hdd connected on my network but turns out no LAN support on my new ROKU (fail). Lets see if my $39 investment can solve web hosting AND NAS needs...
Be glad to hear from anyone that's tried.
It would work but wont be very fast, first bottleneck is the internal memory/sd card, second is the USB interface
USB2.0 data transfer peaks 480Mb/sec theoretically, i.e 60MB/s MAX.
USB3.0 is much faster
With gibabit you can get 60-100MB+ depending on the IO source.
For anybody that isn't familiar with it, the UG008 is an RK3066 device very similar to the UG007 but in a larger case and with the addition of an external wifi antenna, ethernet port, and an analog A/V port. I went with it primarily because the analog A/V port allows you to connect a set of speakers when using it with an HDMI to DVI adapter (for viewing on a computer monitor) without the need for a separate USB sound card. Anyhow, to get to the point of this post...
Is there any way to add custom resolutions? It has the option for 1080p and 720p but the monitor I'm using has a native resolution of 1680x1050 (16x10). and stretches any non-native resolution to fill the screen. It's not bad in video, but text isn't as crisp as it should be.
Also, I was wondering if there is any way to connect another Android device with a usb cable to transfer files? I tried connecting my Note 2 which automatically launched the gallery app on the UG008 and gave me the option to transfer pictures but no way that I could find to transfer anything else. I assume if I could put the phone into mass storage mode it would work fine but unfortunately they seem to have done away with it in favor of MTP and PTP.
Thanks,
Tony

Other than a custom rom I wouldn't know of any other way to handle the resolution issue. No idea on the other device either. My question is on the recovery. Did u get one installed on it?
What's up all.
So here's my thought... Is there a device out there to plug into a TV's HDMI port that will let me send video files wirelessly to it from my phone/computer so that I can watch the videos on the big screen instead of my phone/computer screen?
A few ideas:
- Is there a HDMI-to-bluetooth adapter/dongle that I could plug into the TV and send the videos bluetooth-ly to?
- Is there a HDMI-"SmartTV-creating" adapter (I've seen things like "Android mini pc"s on the 'net) that I could use to transform my TV into a SmartTV or an android "tablet/computer-like-device" and then send the video files from one device to the other? i.e. - devices like this one... http://www.amazon.com/UG007B-Quad-C...d=1389321213&sr=8-13&keywords=android+mini+pc with a wireless keyboard as well of course, and using either bluetooth or a wifi signal to send from my phone/computer to either stream, or transfer the file then watch.
- From what I know the Chromecast device at this time cannot do this, and only works for specific apps like HBO GO, Netflix, Hulu, etc., not for sending straight video files stored on a phone/tablet, but are there other such devices out there that do what I am looking to do?
Thanks all in advance for the help!
Apart from all the other proprietary sets on the market, the wi-fi (802.11/...) USB dongle appear to be an easy way to connect your mobile/laptop/TV to the TV set. The disadvantage is the short range of about 10 feet, unless you use a wi-fi access point to extend the distance range.
On the TV side, attach a HDMI dongle
On a PC, attach wi-fi USB dongle. I think you will need a streaming software.
On a tablet, attach a OTG (On-The-Go) mini-USB-to-USB adapter and then the wi-fi USB dongle. Again, I would think you need a streaming software.
On a mobile phone, it will be more of a challenge. You could do wired-wireless combo:
Phone-to-computer using screen capture application (wi-fi, USB or Bluetooth), then Computer-to-TV via the wi-fi USB option above.

Thanks for the ideas, and I agree that link was an interesting read.
After thinking, I think the way I'll go about this is using Google Drive and an Android mini pc TV adapter. I can drop the video files (or whatever) into the drive on my computer or phone, then sync my TV Android to get the files to play.
Ok i have the galaxy A32 5G and yes they will allow you to watch your fav movies and anything that is on your phones screen, without having to use your hotspot data.if you have unlimited high speed data like i do then you can really use this,i do know it works on youtube tried already, you will have to buy this cable Renkchip 2-in-1 USB C/Micro USB to HDMI Cable you can also charge phone at same time with usb end pluged into usb on tv.working on my old lg27 inch tv .its cheapest on ebay that is where i purchased mine.it works flawlessly.I payed 22 us dollars at ebay others want 30 bucks.you dont have to turn on bluetooth for sound it works auto, with this adapter cable. you will download ezcast from google play for the device you gonna use it on,for me it was android the A32 5g.hope this helps any of you wanting to know a real life working product for free mirror to tv without using your wifi/hotspot data
I scripted the entire process for these with tasker to automatically do everything after plug in (connect bluetooth audio, change res to 16x9 (1280x720) for full screen on tv, set refresh to 60hz (adaptive gets to 90hz and its too much bandwidth), minimize app) and leave you at the home screen.
Another one for unplug that reverts everything without having to touch anything as well. Leaving you at homesceen, cleared notifications.
The only downside is that it uses state power usb, which means it will activate\deactivate when plugged into a PC too which really isnt a big deal imo. AC wall adapters dont trigger it.
Lmk if you want them they are quite handy. I dont think you need to be rooted, and you will have to change your cables mac address in tasker (easy) for BT audio.
*You dont need to touch anything for this. It even automatically presses the Mirror dialog button.
