Don't know if a mod has been developed where fingerprint sensor switches display on without pressing the power button instead like HtC M9 [emoji16]

Is there a app that doesn't lock the screen when the display turns off, I find it a bit annoying on android to turn on the phone, on symbian I just had to press any key to turn on the display without unlocking it, and lock it only using the lock key.
I prefer a app like LG G2's Knock On.

theres a kernel here what does what you want ,well i think it does

I don't want to upgrade to a CFW now. I prefer enjoying rhe phone on stock than to deal with minor hindrances which ruin the experience on a CFW, like the camera bug mentioned in the thread you quoted to.

You're out of luck then unfortunately, custom kernel is the only thing that offers it right now.

Such a basic thing that symbian had but android doesn't, I am disappointed with Google.

Just go to settings and set lock screen to none.

Lol such an obvious solution

Thanks for the apps but with both the apps the phone gets locked after the screen turns off, I wanted a app that turns off the autolock of phone and just turns off the screen to save power. So I can press any key on the phone to see the screen without unlocking it each time.

I can press any key except the volume rockers which leaves the obvious power button and the home button will turn my screen on and with no lock screen it does what you want it to.

I dont think this is possible without any gesture movement set by you.

Not sure if it will work but give the xposed module Xposed Addition a try. It lets you remap all the hardware buttons on your device. You can set some type of hardware key combo (ie. power+vol up) to turn screen on.

Hi, I received my J700m and I noticed that the touchkeys or softkeys don't light up, is this normal or is my phone not working properly? I tried looking for an option in settings based on post I read about this kind of issue but for different models and I have nothing so far.
Welcome to the mid-range, Sammy edition.
No auto screen brightness, no notification led, no battery charge light, no noise cancelling mic ..... et cetera

Anyone know?
I have looked as well but i don't think there is. Gotta hit the power button to do so and then let the iris scanner unlock it from there, it's actually pretty fast, at least that's what i went with because the home button on the screen could be hit or miss to wake the phone sometimes.

There is an app called gravity screen that can do that, although it drains battery.

the phone is setup to unlock by picking it up and touching the finger print scanner.
Or power button iris.
No swiping needed
You can also set it to unlock by using force touch

FWIW the only way I am able to take a quick screenshot in certain apps (eg Camera) if I have the screenshot button added to my primary nav bar... is there any way to use the Power + Down combo, like on any Android phone, without triggering a creen shutoff (ie Power click takes precedence)? Also for the latter one has to really do gymnastics as this requires the squeeze-push which is not something you can do with two fingers, you have the get a grip on the slab...
For now using two buttons for screenshot is not working, that's why you have to use the button on navbar. They are working on it, that both buttons work together.
But you can also map the edge sense to make a screenshot of long or short squeeze

You can also add this button to your secondary navbar, and swype between those in every App.

Doesn't work this way on phones with a software navbar. Only if you would have a physical home button, never worked on other devices afaik this way too
