Quick screenshot? - HTC U12+ Questions & Answers

FWIW the only way I am able to take a quick screenshot in certain apps (eg Camera) if I have the screenshot button added to my primary nav bar... is there any way to use the Power + Down combo, like on any Android phone, without triggering a creen shutoff (ie Power click takes precedence)? Also for the latter one has to really do gymnastics as this requires the squeeze-push which is not something you can do with two fingers, you have the get a grip on the slab...

For now using two buttons for screenshot is not working, that's why you have to use the button on navbar. They are working on it, that both buttons work together.
But you can also map the edge sense to make a screenshot of long or short squeeze

You can also add this button to your secondary navbar, and swype between those in every App.

Doesn't work this way on phones with a software navbar. Only if you would have a physical home button, never worked on other devices afaik this way too

Button bindings

Does the Galaxy SIII (stock) have screen capture ability like the fassy and charge?? If so what are the button bindings, I remember home and back button together, but can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks to all that reply!

I think one is volume key and home (not sure). Easiest way when on a stock based ROM is to turn on the motion where you slide your hand from left to right across the screen to take a screen shot.
Sent from a strange blue box hurtling through time and space.
If your wanting a screen shot then it's the home + lock button. Hold them for like 3 seconds

Buttons aren't working (Home, Menu, Genius, Back, and Trackpad) HELP!

The buttons all light up but don't work at all. I have the phone all disassembled but dont know which connector it is? Can someone please help me so I can see if its connected right.
OR How about mapping the BACK function to the camera button? I can deal with that lol i'm running cyanogen mod 9
Maybe like, have it be half press on camera is home, hard press is back? And hold is menu?

If you have it torn apart the cable connecting those buttons should be obvious
But if you don't want to replace it and are willing to remap then there are apps in the play store that can add soft buttons to homescreens

[Q] Remapping Volume To Wake Phone

Is there any way to remap hitting both volume buttons at the same time to wake your phone? The top power button is hard to hit sometimes.

You could just use the wake gestures

I do use those to wake the phone but it would be nice for turning off the phone as well. Right now I'm using the xposed module to double tap the status bar, but even that is difficult sometimes

Works pretty well on my rooted note 3 running crash rom NF4 base and AEL v6 kernel.
Simply Set double tap to screen on and enjoy!

Thanks working great on my Note 2 N7100
Awesome, s2,s3,note3
It doesn't actually turn off the screen. In fact, this program sends a black wallpaper to your screen.
Not good.
Screen is continual on.

Being the screen always on will that affect the device
Wow
Hmmm the whole point of this being on the LG G2 and 3 is because having to pick the phone up everytime to check messages etc was a bit frustrating. However, this app is TOTALLY pointless on the Note 3 where we have 2 (potentially 4) ways of turning on our display.
1. Use the damn power button located on the right of the device.
2. Use the damn home button. You know....that big button in the lower centre of the device.
3. If you have the mod. Press either vol up or vol down to turn on the display.
4. If you have Quick Glance turned on. Hover your hand over the proximity sensor....
This app is just unnecessary.

First of all waking up the screen using sliding or double tap is more easy and it will save these buttons from being destroyed by repeated pressing ( dont look at one day or even month use I talk about longterm use)
Also it is a matter of personal like to use an app which u may not like but I consider ot useful
The question here is that will it affect the display or the device on longterm use or not
Anyone who may know the answer please respond
Thanks

All you have just said makes no sense whatsoever. Buttons are there to be pressed, they wont depreciate over time, hell I've still got a nokia 5110 from 2003 and the buttons work just fine! This app if anything will drain your battery because it must have a mechanism inside detecting when someone touches the display.

When I installed this app last night my battery was at 55%, but when I woke up the battery was down to 15%! Shame because I like the app but had to uninstall it unfortunately.
Wow, this app is really that battery consuming? I really love the idea though, waking up my phone just tapping the screen
Of course, It will drain your battery, Coz its working through sensors and app will run in the background. I had htc x in that dev used some code itself in kernel, that was working very well and battery friendly. I hope our note 3 kernel dev will consider that and include it in future kernels.:good:

Couldn't said it better myself.
it's not necessary to port every damn feature from other devices to ours. It's way easier to press the home button than to click on the screen.
And no... buttons won't be destroyed. Haha that comment killed me.

It's a great feature in my circumstance.
I frequently use my Note one handed. Unfortunately, my thumb isn't very elongated to reach for the button. Double tapping on the screen to wake is a godsend.

How do I take a Screenshot?

I feel stupid asking this but the power and volume down combination is not working for me no matter how many times I try. Is there another simple method to take screenshots?

I took my case off and tried and it worked. The fault of the way the buttons are aligned I guess. Anyhow, I don't see the 3 finger option in the settings (moves). Is this unique to the Verizon version maybe?

Must have been part of one of the ROMs I was using sorry
You can long press on the home button and once the assistant shows up, slide to the bottom of the page. There's an option for screenshot
