Greetings everyone!
I author mobile applications using Titanium SDK + Titanium Studio for Android. This morning, while trying to compile the latest APK of one of my projects, I encountered an error from the console indicating that ADB can't see my device. Here is the error:*"[TRACE] adb devices returned 0 devices/emulators"
I wondered if it was an issue with Titanium itself, so I ran ADB directly from the terminal and ran the following command:
zettageeklatform-tools$ ./adb devices
This returned no devices in the list. I SHOULD be seeing a Nexus 7, as that is what is connected to the system right now. I've tried two different cables, and checked the Android settings to verify that USB debugging IS enabled.
The system used to develop the mobile applications is: Mac Mini (i5 / 8GB ram / Mac OS X V 10.7.5)
I'm using the latest Android SDK (adt-bundle-mac-x86_64.zip) available from the Android development website.
I've tried rebooting both the Mac, and the Nexus 7. I've also done a factory-reset on the Nexus 7, and re-enabled USB debugging from the settings. I'm still encoutering the same problems.
Note that this worked fine a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure what's changed. Any advice would be very much appreciated!
Thanks,
ZettaGeek
Try using PDAnet drivers. They mostly fix these problems.

Do you believe I can do this with my android terminal app which allows ADB commands? I do it with the Fire tv no need for drivers just loading the software via wifi.
From what I know, the USB cable need to be used to controller Fastboot ( to Root and unlock the device) Hopefully a custom recovery will allow the use of ADB over wifi once it out.

When downloading the driver on windows xp I extracted the content and don't I have to run an .exe file as well? I did not see that part in the video.
Has anyone rooted their NP using a Mac? The Minimal ADB and fastboot is not compatible with Mac, so does anyone have a recommendation for a similar lite package that only contains ADB and fastboot?

Yes I have. I used 1.0.31 which I think can be found here:

(I found it elsewhere but don't remember where)

Thanks, I actually ended up doing it the standard way, downloading the Android SDK and installing adb and fastboot. I found this video to be very helpful for Mac:
https://youtube.com/watch?annotatio...&src_vid=M6aV-mM19N8&v=pzzDxrccZO8&feature=iv
Another helpful tip I picked up was that if you want to restore to the factory image, you can quickly erase your firmware by relocking and then unlocking the bootloader, rather than erasing each part manually with commands.
I am seeing issues with fastboot on mine. I can get to the fastboot screen, but the device is never identified. I can access it via ADB, but not fastboot. Very interesting. Anyone having this problem?
Root on LRX21V
Does anybody know if the root.img file uploaded by Chainfire will work in LRX21V? I dont want to boot the img impulsively and brick my device ;P

I think I switched USB cables and rebooted a few times. I also think I had to use "sudo fastboot" instead

If your np isn't coming up when your put devices you'll need to go into device manager on your laptop and remove adb and/or any android device, then download adb again (if required) and plug the device into laptop with cable and let it download drivers etc and you'll be OK. Seems sometimes it happens for no apparent reason. I had that a while ago and this was the only option that resolved it.

Seems workable. But I'm still reluctant to take the risk.
Changes for Nexus Player running 5.1.1
I have a Nexus Player running 5.1.1, build LMY47V. Is the root.ini file referenced in this post suitable for this device?
I followed the instructions in the video and all seemed smooth except that when the new image booted it did not have SuperSU available anywhere (neither the leanback lanucher nor through the Apps settings).
I installed SuperSU from the Play Store but it failed to install the applications and asks for a reboot before trying again. After reboot it seems to hang forever (> 10 min) in the floating colored circles screen.
It's not bricked - I can reboot to the bootloader using the hardware method (long press the button during poweron).
Could it be that because it's 5.1.1 I need a different root.ini? Or maybe someone has an idea what's going wrong and how to fix it?
Thanks!

Hello Mister Chainfire how do I root Nexus player current image? I tried last night and it got stuck on boot screen.
Hi there. I don't know if this the right place to ask my question but I couldn't find a section that seemed to fit my question. Sorry if it's the wrong place!
I have no experience with rooting devices but I wanted to try and install Android 7 on my Nexus 7 tablet so I watched a video on how to do it. I have successfully managed to install Android 7 and the tablet boots up and works fine but it refuses to connect to my PC.
I want to install the Google Play Store app but I can't get the apk file onto the tablet. I've tried e-mailing it to myself but the tablet won't save the file. What am I doing wrong?
Many thanks
Nicky

For the connecting to PC, it sounds to me like you're not opening USB options to enable MTP when you connect the device to PC.
As,for the app not saving from your email. Go to system settings>applications>(your email app), open the app info for your email app, then tap the permissions option, then enable permission to storage.

From what ive been reading and also experienceing from using android 10 on my google pixel is that they are trying to lock Android, to play store use only! This does not sit well with me as a android tv box enthusiast, its getting more difficult to customize boxes, ive been fiñding with android pie boxes, magisk will not install to the boot file, meaning less customization as far as sound enhancements and so on, i greatly enjoyed the s905x2 with android 8.1 as i could still customize with magisk.
On my pixel with android 10 es file explorer does not link installs to the apk installer anymore.
Since amlogic source code is not released to the public to build our own google free firmware im wondering what the coming releases hold in store for us.
Ps if anyone has figured out installing magisk to s905x2 pie and s905x3 pie please help a fella out, no bootloader on these boxes to boot to to use adb, haven't had much luck with adb over network...
Hello Guys,
I have a Hilti Laser PD-C device that runs:
android: 4.1.2
build: sparky_silver_2.3.15
I want to note that all apps should be arm not x86 but Im not sure of the DPI.
This runs a special modified Hilti rom. I would love to be able to get a custom rom and add more apps. I am willing to toss some donations for this. Has anyone done anything with this device before?
**** Update: ****
I was able to get root access via PC version "KING_ROOT"
http://king.myapp.com/myapp/Kingroot/kingroot_pc/KingRoot_pc_en.exe
1. I downloaded the most current sdk for ADB
2. I also downloaded the Hilti update app.
www.hilti.com/updatepdc
3. I was able to use King_Root even while the app didnt see the device and it recognized the device after I clicked connect.
4. The main ROM is very difficult to get around. You cant just click an app you side-loaded. Download a launcher that matches the android version. I used smart launcher, no reason, just the first I found. Use ADB to sideload on to the device.
(adb install "app name") https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/smart...1-build-054-android-apk-download/#description
5. From here I got full control to the apps I sideloaded. I am still having issues with connecting to BT on my note9 for the internet.
It is what it is... But thanks for the help. I hope anyone else looking finds this.
