Need New Rom Options - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hey there guys! Im here asking (actually pleading) for some help on selecting a good stock note 4 rom with close to great battery life as possible. Ive been running the Dr.Ketan rom and i like it...its just the battery drains very quickly for my liking. I want to try something else. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! ,:fingers-crossed:

Do you mean Note 5?

I'm in the same boat coming from lg v10 with only two roms to here... which, do I choose. Looking for debloated for sure, all else is gravy. thanks for any assistance.

I been using TEKXodus Ultra Hybrid N5 ERv13.7 USA/INTERNATIONAL / USA N920T / N920X rom on all three of my Note 5's and it's running smoothly so far.

Crisscross rom from the international thread, it's awsome, just make sure to flash the call audio fix. Great battery as you can use the new battery saver

I've been running DarthStalker for quite awhile and it never seems to have any problems.

hey there ive got a rooted galaxy s2, ive tried few of the ics roms but a strange problem occurs i.e. my cell switches off if i leave it unused for a while. and still unable to find a good rom.what do u suggest
I too have a Samsung Galaxy S2. I am using Phone-Bricker 2.5 It has a great app called Kitchen that helps you out with adding things onto the ROM and customizing it further.

How did you root your sgs2?
I'm on VK rom... I really flashed a lot of roms and this is the one I stick with, it still updates so thats good...
I maybe suggest to start all over. backup everything you need to backup and wipe your whole system. then just flash the vk rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559009
and if the battery issue is still there... charge your phone 100%, enter recovery mode and wipe your battery stats.
hope I helped a bit
The phone-bricker rom also looks good!! gonna flash and test it right away!! I'll let you know what I think of it...
I love the kitchen!!! Checkrom also has it! still waiting for that ICS rom to come.
grts!!!
unfortunatetly, the phone-bricker rom does not respond well in my sgs2... my BACK button and my homebutton aren't working... flashed it twice after full wipe. you know why this could happen??

so, the phone-bricker rom really bricked my phone. I tested it and as I said, my backbutton and homebutton didn't work anymore... and when people call me they only hear some loud noise, as if I was somewhere with a lot of wind, but not my voice at al (tested it by calling myself ) so I tried to start over and as I flashed the original ICS back, the call problem was gone. flashed the phone-bricker again and had the same problems. it's a real phone-bricker!! maybe other phones react differently...
still prefere the VK rom!! making my way back to it now...
grts
I also used many but so far, ICS Resurrection Remix and Liting' Rom are the best and stable.
Yeah now running the new remis and it is just what I want! A light smooth rom! But I don't get the tablet mode as you also can find in D4 rom... Is it a setting that I must change? I wanna try the sgs2 tablet!

What I wish for
Hi,
I seek a ROM that is FAST (with OC), STABLE, and customisable. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
Hello. I tried Ollo SII and I think that this rom has the best battery life. Try it if you want...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650293
Or do you have any other rom with good battery life?

Which ROM?

I would like to have a de-bloated 4.1.1 for my Galaxy S3.
Just unsure of which ROM to use.
To start I would like it to be the same as the phone stock but without all the bloatware on it.
Please direct me.
Thanks.

Try out h3llsrom RallyStock 1.22 rom. A stock rom super debloated with separate aroma installers to add in the components you want.

CleanRom 5.6 for starters.
CleanRom 5.6 is the one to try, IMHO.

X10000000. Its what I've been running. Its essentially vanilla touch wiz. Its blazing fast and has great battery life. Also clean rom lite 5.6 is amazing.

Thanks for the quick replies.
I will give both of those a try over the next few weeks.
I have tried a variety of ROMS, most of which were great. I kept coming back to Clean ROM 5.6. It's TW and had no issues at all. Then I installed Lean Kernel for a little overclocking and voltage variety. The other ROM's I tried had a small white line at the top of the screen which I didn't like or take time to figure out. The Clean ROM didn't have that problem.
Good Luck.
I haven't ran his roms in awhile but some of h3llsrom rom's were wipe versions, they wipe everything. They are good roms, just read and know what you are flashing.
I say cleanrom, it's my go to and meets all my needs.
I say try out Hyperdrive rom Blazing Fast
Cleanrom like everyone else said will probably fit the bill for you.
Don't worry about the bloat. I say go for Beans' ROM if your sticking with 4.1.1. It has all the customization you would need and as stable as it gets.
I'm a big fan of remf4i/Rath1on's "The Executioner 3" with Imoseyon's lean kernel v1.7

Amazing performance with really good battery life
Ive tried most of these roms and they are all good. but if you want a slim rom Hellsrom is the place to be. thats what im running now and i absolutely love this rom.
In case you have not read the responses.
Clean ROM all day!
Other ROMs are beautifullly smooth and fast. But just do not have the battery of clean rom

My Note 3 is slower than Nexus 5!

Hello everyone,
I believe I tried everything before I start this thread.
My Note 3 lags in some apps like crazy and while scrolling in mobile websites (with JavaScript enabled). For example,
Flight24: The map in this app is very choppy and not very responsive, while its different story on my nexus 5. Its very fluid and smooth.
Cnet websites (mobile view): Also very choppy and slow in scrolling but not in the nexus 5.
Things I have tried:
- Get the latest firmware for my Note 3.
- Force 2D rendering under Dev option, clear cache as well as remove SD card.
- Factory reset
My Note 3 runs : 4.4.2 (N9005XXUGNG1)
My Nexus 5 runs: Android L M897aA-2.0.50.2.08
If you know anything that can help please do tell.

I'm pretty sure this is not the case in any of them and I will tell you why. I tested the same app FlightRadar24 on my friend S5 and wife z1 compact and they run smooth. I went back to my nexus 5 and downgraded to 4.4.4 to retest and the app runs just as smooth as on Android L.
The only thing that come to my mind is if I screwed my phone while changing firmware. Last time when I went to odin to install the firmware, I checked CP instead of AP which pretty much brick my phone. I was able to go back to download mod and install the firmware with AP checked this time and it worked.
So i'm thinking, could this be the cause of all the slow/choppiness i'm having with my note 3 or is it because of the large screen and the cpu/gpu have hard time keeping up.
BTW if anyone wants to try the app for me and reply with feedback I would appreciate it
(Flightradar24 Free), I can't post links yet
I have the paid version but this should be the same.
Regards
You are comparing TouchWiz ROM to stock Android ROM (especially Android L, which is even more tweaked for speed!) on same chipset (apart from RAM). No wonder, that Samsung is slower.

My friend has S5 and its just as fast as the nexus!
Test some AOSP ROM and tell us the results. I have a unique Nope 3 on my own, in any custom recovery wiping data/cache/system is brutally slow, takes up to 5 minutes, but flashing of ROMs and copying files over USB 3 is as fast as it should be. I posted a question about it and my Nope 3 seems to be quite unique in this and I also can't go to Samsung like "wtf TWRP and CWM wipe cache very slowly!", they'll kick me outta store before I finish the sentence.
So... backup whatever you have for a ROM and test an AOSP (unless your KNOX is 0x0 and you want to keep it that way).
If the speed is the same... welcome to the club of unique Notes, only yours will be more unique than mine.
My stock note 3 is ultra fast - you must have some kind of error... Have you tried reflashing the ROM or trying a custom ROM and kernel?
Tried greenify and freezujg bloat with titanium? Those methods work for speeding up a slow phone but to be fair even when completely stock, your phone should be extremely quick.

My house phone's better than your iPhone.

My mate who I helped flashing has the same problem. Well it works but it's slow. And his phone is stabl as a rock so I wouldn't worry about it!
Hey if its of any help I downloaded that app to my SM-N900A (quad core qualocomm) and it appears to run fine. Not sure what model of note 3 you have, probably an international? Here's a screenshot if that helps.

Yet The Best CustomROM for Nexus 5 ?

Hi,
My N5 is running on Android Lollipop 5.1.0 (LMY47I), (Rooted)
I know choosing a custom rom differs from one person to another, but I would like to know which custom rom you recommend to me (Based on your exp). and Which CustomROM I can consider Switching to. More likely I'm looking for a CustomROM with Stock ROM Experience + Addition features (Circular battery, Performance, Better Battery life, etc..)
Hope your replies might also help other who has thoughts to switch to CustomROM !
Thanks in advance !

Well, it may not be helpful or expected, but it's honest. You're best bet is to scroll through the development section and choose one at random. You say you're looking for stock with extras, but ever rom out can fit that criteria....
If you're looking for a rom based off the stock google factory image, then I'd suggest Cataclysm Rom from the Original Dev section. It might be just what you're looking for because the Dev takes the stock google image and adds his own twist to it.
3 people=3 suggestions
Billion people=billion suggestions
Based on your expectation I would say Cataclysm+elementalx is good choice. But the best solution is download>flash>experience
Thanks for sharing valuable suggestions, now I can save some time by short listing custom rom's based on ya ppl suggestions
You have to try and choice a ROM.

Cataclysm hands down......
Euphoria and Chorma is the one I always use in all the time. Euphoria will more features compare to Chorma but both also awesome ROM I used before and also with CodeBlue kernel performance smooth and battery soso.

ROM: Stock vs Custom

Hello, I've tried various custom lollipop roms in the past few months and they all had problems. My personal observation is that the stock rom has always been more stable and superior and that I could not see any real functionality benefit with custom roms...Perhaps prism is the best one compared to all others.
Am I the only person here who has reached this conclusion?
Yes

You are right, if you have life out of your mobile phone then stock ROM is the best otherwise waste your life in never ending process of flashing and modding your phone......lolz. There will be a stage when you'll be happy that CM12.1 is half stable but then Android M will be out.
the stock ROM is much stable but it not so fast like custom, anyways you can try to use a custom for a while and decide what is the best for you
I also experienced that in costom always has a bugs... I using stock firmware together with Nova Launcher...
Stock here - 5.0.1 stable, smooth and fast. Don't see any point in changing.... And I used to be a big modder!
I tried cm 12.1 and returned to stock because it bored me. It didn't give me what I wanted. It's a bit overestimated. Rooting and flashing makes me addicted to phone. Never ending process. Always wanting more. Stick to original and enjoy.
Yes I agree with you till some point. Till now I have tried almost every rom out there for my 9505, but almost always I am coming back to stock. According to me and the current situation there are only two custom roms that are really providing stock stability and I have seen not a single bug, so they can be daily drivers. They are the current version of Danvdh's gpe rom (with the couple of the previous ones I had minor issues. At least after LP came out) and the second and the one where I have never experienced any single bug in no single version of it (LP or KK), and that is the TW rom from iB4stid (sadly he will not develop for 9505 anymore), goldeneye (and also goldenfinger in the time of KK). However goldeneye is almost same as stock so maybe thats why I like it.
The benefit that I see from using the goldeneye despite stock rom is that you can always use the latest rom relased but again stiching to the modem version of the operator that I am using my phone with (I do not have good experience with flashing separate modem packages), with that taking the best of both worlds. In this situation you have the modem that works best with your carrier and the latest base from samsung that has the same stability as the stock one.
Danvdh' gpe rom is good for me when I am tired from TW but again having very very stable and fast rom. Ive even have better battery life and I can say it is the snappiest rom out there. It is beyond Goldeneye regarding that criteria.
The only concern is surely that Samsung aren't going to release Android M for GS4? Just won't happen will it?
hi, i just bought i9505 , i want to install a custom rom but i hesitate.
Currently my i9505 is very stable and responsive with Stock rom based on lollipop 5.0.1
can you please tell me if is it a good idea to change to custom rom or not ? i want try UPSM and others mod
What is advantage if i change rom ?
is it easy to come back to stock if i decide to try custom rom ?
Thank you in advance
I've tried both custom and stock roms and I am now using a stock rom because I also own a Samsung Gear 2 Neo, which only works properly on the stock rom for now...

I thought I had seen that feature on Stock Lollipop? hmm, maybe not. Still, it's a niche feature (I actually work in business where conference calls are regular and we use a bridge), and as put Skype and Hangouts do it pretty well too.
