So I started noticing screen burn in on the bottom part of the screen at the navigation bar. It appears as a yellowish cast at that part of the screen when viewing mostly white content with the nav bar being transparent. Now I'm thinking is this covered under warranty or does it fall under common ware and tare ( such as battery life degradation which is not covered under Sony warranty)
Also: as you might or might have not noticed my phone is still covered by warranty.

Hi,
recently I got my Nexus S washed during a big storm and it started malfunctioning.
There is a water damage indicator under the battery contacts that was white with red/pink crosses on it before the storm and now it got white.
My question is, is this the right behavior? I searched the forums and other sites and many users are reporting exactly opposite, that it was white before the water damage and after it it turned red. This would be also supported by iFixit's teardown of the Nexus S, which features an image of a disassembled Nexus S with a white water damage indicator:

So, does anybody know, how should the water damage indicators look like?
Thanks in advance,
František Nesveda
That is odd... my indicator is white and my phone isn't even 3 months old
if it was water damaged ... those red crosses should have appeared after
my i9023 (Vodafone Australia) is white with crosses (no water damage)
odd...
neither of mine have an indicator
stuck there [NS4G]
there is a little white panel
beside the contacts ON THE BATTERY....
nothing visible on the phone in the battery compartment
the first one i got is my contract phone
new from sprint
fwiw
I have disassembled it and found out that the inner indicator is white with crosses. I'm fairly confident the water didn't get to this inner indicator, which means non-damaged is white with crosses and damaged is white without crosses.
Anyway, as each indicator has a different image / pattern, it is obvious some water damage happened with the phone and the warranty is void.
By the way, the difference can be in our models, the i9023 could have different indicators than the i9020 or the NS4G.
If you could post the info about your indicators and the model you have, it would be certainly helpful.
My model is i9023 and the indicators are supposedly white with crosses before water damage and white without crosses after water damage.

So does the NS4G have a water damage indicator on the inside? Like would someone have to take the phone apart and remove the screws to see?
It's like a short brush stroke on the top left corner of my screen. It's really very faint and can only be noticed on solid whites but it's clearly there and annoying as crap.
Please take a look at this image so you can better see what I mean. http://i.imgur.com/L0KmP.jpg

Seems to be a common nexus s screen issue that after some time will become more and more visible.
Only solution is to change your screen in a Samsung repair center if your warranty is still valid.
Crap... it's outside the warranty period.

Hi...i was wondering what happened to my xperia z3...after 2 weeks of using my device fixed by sony service center due to broken screen which i paid for almost half of the price...i thought i was stress free because it was already fixed...but i was so dissapointed when i found out there are yellow tint color at the bottom of my screen especially when viewing white and gray color...this is so unreasonable...does anyone happened to experience this...?
I do, don't know when it happened but I just realized the yellow tint at the bottom of my screen.
Just a thought. Don't let this phone stand too much in the sun and over heat him. Glass becomes quickly hot.
Now, in the case of a repaired phone, it is understandable, maybe they could have done a better job since you paid for the repair.
And another thing, keep the screen away from magnetic fields.
Its a yellow glue, they should replace your screen for free of charge. Xperia S had this problem very common.
I got my Mi4C a few days ago and like it very much so far, but noticed some backlight bleeding.
It´s only visible on grey background (AdAway or Fire TV app) so i don´t know if my device is broken or not.
Adding a picture for example below but i have to say that in reality its less visible than on the picture.
Please look at the right and left edges.
How about your Mi4C?
Basically just want to know if its faulty and i should get a new one or maybe "Bad construction design" by xiaomi? Now i notice it almost everywhere btw
What exactly is the issue? You mean that the screen is bright at the edges? I think mine is a bit too but it's hard to notice. Can you provide more photos?
My backlight is visable at extreme angels so i think it is just the Sharp display used. It is not the highest quality of components.
I have some light bleed on the top, only visible with a status bar color other than black or white, so kind of a non issue for me
@Ydraulikos
Yes, thats exactly what i mean. The edges of the screen are brighter. Especially the edge marked yellow on the picture.
The other ones are only visible if you look hard for it.

Hi Guys,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gold which I purchased while I was traveling from the Uae.
The phone had an issue with the home button and I had to eventually send it back to get it repaired.
The service center in the UAE replaced the entire screen and front panel of the phone and now everything works fine.
But i noticed the other day that there is a gap in the screen and metal frame of the phone on the left side.
And through this gap i can see the connector of the volume button.
The gap is larger on the left side and very minimum on the right side.
Through this gap light leaks and its very annoying.
I can easily slide a piece of paper through the gap but I cannot slide a thick business card.
I am extremely concerned about two things:
1) Water getting in through the gaps
2)The light leaking making my screen and device faulty.
I can see the light leak during the day when the screen is maxed at brightness although it is more visible in a darker environment and also the LED notification light bleeds just a bit from the top gap between the screen and frame.
I was wondering if this was normal?
I pray to god that it is as my warranty expires in 2months and I have no one to send my phone back with or otherwise I need to spend 300$ for a repair.
I have attached pictures... Do let me know what you think.
Thanks

Water resistance is definitely gone, so don't get it wet. I did the exact same thing with an old iPhone I had and when they sent it back that hadn't fitted the screen in properly. Do you have a local shop, you could ask them to pop it back in for you?
Light leaking through edge will not damage your screen. If you mean moisture fettering inside your phone his could become an issue over time, depending on the environment you expose it to.
You can buy screen replacement tool kits (no actual screen) on ebay for a few dollars, you could do it yourself if your warranty is not valid in new country, it's probably just some component (seal probably) not properly seated that is stopping the case closing properly
