Rooting stock MM? [Resolved] - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a rooting method for MM? I've looked through the threads and it's all about the MM custom roms which I don't have. I'm using upgraded MM OS. I tried to downgrade to LP using the mobile Q and it stayed on MM and reset my phone to default ((lmao)). I'm not exactly a wiz, but decent enough at this but I love this phone and want to use it to it's full potential.
I'm on the cricket service using idol 5.5 ((model 6045i)) if it matters. If I missed a thread that I should have read, forgive me and just point me in that direction. Thx!
Happy rooting!

You may have to downgrade to stock lp first.

Hii Audit, thanks for replying!
I will try it, thx! Hope it works for me.

Ohkay, so nothing worked to downgrade MM to LP stock
Panasonic Eluga wasn't able to detect the device although I've installed drivers and reset the pc and phone. Nothing worked. The link you provided for me helps but didn't work for me to allow me to downgrade. But thx for taking the time out to help me! Any help is appreciated.

Did you put the phone in download mode by any chance?
If not, I believe it's Power + Up/Down volume at the same time.

I went ahead with the Panasonic Eluga software, took some work for it to detect my phone. But got it to downgrade to 5.0 and flashed the AlekOS ROM with no problems!

I am also on stock MM on cricket idol 3. Will try the panasonic downgrade to 5.0. Did you also have to install the hybrid bootstack to get alekos to work or just the standard root/unlock bootloader then install rom ?

I tried about everything... it sees it as CD Rom drive in windows but when I go to download mode it no longer sees it and the device disappears from my device manager... tried about every trick...
After about 15 or 20 other tries it finally stuck with a driver---which one I have mo idea ... I quickly shut off phone went into download (before it changed its mind) and loaded the panasonic OS. it installed !! I will play with it tomorrow and try and install Alek OS FLy.
Thanks again

I also have a cricket 6045O and installed panasonic eluga. After I get alekOS/FlyOS installed do i need to install any cricket ( usa) modem to get 4g LTE? (i imagine the panasonic modem is not compatible or is the modem built into the new ROM)?

no I got LTE perfectly fine after I used the Panasonic method to downgrade to 5.0. It's usually the ROM that causes u to lose LTE . CM12.1 ROM by The Marionette is the best to use and guarantee to keep ur LTE speeds if nothing goes wrong during the flashing process ^.^ Plus its amazingly stabled and fast.

To get into download mode, press and hold volume up+volume down+power.

hi, I'm desperately looking for a method to root stock MM for the 6039 model... any idea?
Thank you so much

bouldou, I suggest to you try using the Panasonic Eluga Software to downgrade from MM to LP. As far as im concern, there's no way to root MM yet. Just make sure ur PC download ur alcatel's drivers before doing so.

I had trouble getting mobile q to detect my phone the first time, took about 10 tries putting it into different boot modes before it was finally properly detected.
Once you get it to work the first time, it'll work without even entering that download mode. Eluga is the same.

CWM only option is optimus 2x

Hey guys, when i try to install recovery the only device option that comes out is 'optimus 2x'. Whenever I try install this it bricks my phone and I have to reflash the kdz file. In the beginning before i flashed gingerbread, the 'optimus 3d' option was available, but now only the 2x is offered. Anyone have experience/solutions to this? Really want to flash thiazrom
It's a bug in the ROM Manager. Use 4.8.0.7 or the newest 5.0.0.6 that should work too (at least it did for me)
Use old version of Rom Manager

Go into download mode by holding Vol+ Button and connecting to the PC. When you have sound on you should hear that windows sound when plugging in a new device. Then release the button, the screen of the phone will stay black. Windows should discover a new device and install drivers (needs the LG Drivers)
Then you can use the emergency mode from the LG Mobile Support Tool to reflash with official Firmware.
That's what I did. The LG Tool installed V21A (because I have a european device), so I was able to root again.
I don't know what kind of device you have, but before flashing the official Firmware you should know what the latest version would be or you could lose the ability to root.
Thanks, on older version of cwm work flawlessly
And I can assure you Orlox, that the Zwoggel's method works, becouse i had the same situation. Thanks guys

I ended up flashing an older version of cwm, 5.x.x or something, u can find this option at the bottom of the cwm menu

The reset method from when the phone is switched off appears to have been removed in newer roms on this device however, you can do a factory reset from the 'backup and reset' in the devices menu assuming that you can boot into android.

Autorec Lollipop for D800

Big Thanks to @bender_007!
He was nice enough to make Autorec compatible with the newest lollipop OTA 5.02 30F. I tested it for him and it works!
Check it out in the Play Store!

Don't forget to give him some thanks and if you feel inclined to, some donation.
Just root your lollipop g2, here's an informative video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i22O9VHGi3k , then install Autorec from Playstore and then you'll get TWRP!

am trying this method but when put in the last code its taken a while to do anything,so am wondering is it normal for it to take that long or am i doing something wrong?
When using one click ver 1.3 when it reaches 90% in download mode, wait a couple of mins then pull the usb cable out of phone while in download mode. You should reboot into Android upgrading SU !
Which rooting apps are u using?,is it for d800 variant?
yeah the OneClickRoot works. I was on KK 4.4.2, CloudyFlex 2.8 and decided to update to 5.0.2 just for the bootloader, modem and other stuff. So, I started backing up my "SD Card" to my laptop, using the TOT file method to flash via LG Flashtool to 20c, then rooting with TowelRoot, updating to 20y and finally, upgrading to 30f. But, just for testing, I factory reset my unit.
Then the quest to find a suitable root method began, tried towel, io and stomp but didn't work for me. Then I found this "OneClickRoot" that looked good. I d/l'ed v1.3 but it took forever in Download mode. Then, i decide to try v1.2 (Console version) and it worked PERFECTLY, highly recommended.
I just got this device (D800) with the intention of rooting and installing CM12. It came with the latest version of KK which I knew I had to downgrade to a version of JB with an unlocked boatloader. But my phone upgraded to Lollipop on its own before I had the chance to do anything. I assume the boatloader is still locked with the latest Lollipop firmware. It's nice there is a way to root Lollipop but will I be able to run CM12 and custom kernels somehow?
this is awesome, THANKS!
No go for me..

I'm guessing that you re referring rooting, right? In the console version, it says that you have to unplug the phone, turn it off and plug it again pressing Vol+ (Vol Up) to enter download mode.
After that, it will continue and eventually you'll get to something that says Special Command ENTER something,, then you have to press Ctrl-C to finish.
Hope this helps

Thanks for posting this guapinoy. I recently got a new AT&T G2 that I OTA updated to Lollipop (using an AT&T sim). I followed the picture tutorial linked to that youtube video (http://highonandroid.com/android-smartphones/how-to-root-lg-g-flex-2-g2-g3-on-lollipop/) and was able to root successfully. Installed TWRP afterwards using the autorec app.
I'm having problems with that recovery that this thing installed, it doesn't work for flashing, just for backups... Tried to install other recovery (philz and the official twrp) or rom (liquidsmooth) and i always get the message "error executing updater binary in zip "zip name" "....
Also installed the kitkat baseband, but the error was still there...
I got a boot loop now, at first the ROM worked without recovery, now the recovery works but the ROM won't boot. I can't flash anything due to the same erro .
Help!!!
Hi.. Everyone I'm new to the thread I flashed Blisspop 3.2 to my lg g2 and everytime I bootbit up I keep experience gapps error such as unfortunately google play services has stopped and I can't access anything without that error popping up my LG g2 is the AT&T model (D800) can someone please give me a copy of autorec d800 for lollipop so I can use to try flash twrp on the phone or will the old kit kat autorec work Please I'm in serious need

When a newb fails, bricked s6(SOLVED)

So, i was trying to flash a ROM after i got my recovery and root going on, i wiped EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE recovery file i made and the installation file i got in the phone when i went to wipe the system files and attempt to install the ROM. So, i tried to put the ROM files into my phone via the ADB method. It worked but my ROM didn't and now my S6 is in a boot loop. i have tired Odin, smartwatch and kies. On kies and smart watch, they both said the attempt to install stock ROM failed and attempt a emergency recovery. HOWEVER, both software did not recognize my device in the emergency recovery devices list, nor did it recognize it as a compatible device in the 1st place, i tired to reinstall the drivers and the software themselves but nothing worked. For Odin, it keeps on saying fail to flash as well, it usually stuck on the 'nano write' process or 'setting up connection' process for a long time too! I did download the official Samsung firmware and extracted it, put it into the blank next to the 'AP' button in odin and i got 'Auto Reboot' and 'F. Reset Time' checked off. On the phone, i can boot in to download mode and download mode only, now it shows me a triangle and it says that stock firmware flash failed and use emergency recovery. i actually download a custom recovery and for some reason it wont boot into that.

If any of you pros got any ideas please share with me, i've been trying to fix this problem for about a day and a night.

Boot Loop Mess

Hey everyone, so i'm currently holding a what i suppose is a soft-bricked Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 (5.5) 6045K, let's flash back and see what happened.
I was intrigued by all the privileges root access offered, so after a quick google search, i decided to root my Android 5.0.2 using Kingroot, and the root was successful, i then head back to google to see what i can do with this type of access, and i read about an app called Network Spoofer, i liked its description and decided to download it off chrome, yes i did get a warning that it might contain malware, but that was a bit too common to really care about (yeah stupid me). I downloaded and installed it, but when i tried to open it, my phone restated, and it couldn't boot past the alcatel onetouch smart move logo. I tried to wipe cache partition, i did a factory reset, nothing worked. I tried to look up more advanced solutions, but i couldn't get follow any of those tutorials, because first, USB debugging isn't enabled on my phone, my bootloader is locked, i don't have TWRP custom recovery and i don't have an sd card in my phone. Is there anyway to fix this ?

I actually just finished installing the stock ROM from this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/general/restore-stock-rom-t3705074, using instructions from this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/help/return-to-stock-firmware-recovery-t3216077.
It worked great! My phone is up and running.
