[Completed] Best budget-friendly androids for customization?

Looking for a new android for my boyfriend to replace his current awful phone, and finances are a bit tight right now. We're hoping to find a device under $170, it needs to have SD support to hold all his music and photos, GSM unlocked for Cricket Wireless, and we'd like to find one that has flexibility on custom ROMs. He really likes the one I have, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2, which has CM and PAC, and around the $200 range, but we're wondering if the people of XDA have other devices to recommend. Like me, he also prefers large-ish screens... no tiny phones. It'd also be great to have one that is eligible for Lollipop. Perhaps I am asking too much.

[Completed] IS there really a way to transfer windows phone 8 sms to android phone??

All Respected Android developers,
I have posted a question 2 days ago asking if there is a hope to move Windows 8 Phone sms to Android phones. I want say first a BIG Thank you for your extremely quick reply which is shows you all take all the questions seriously and you are not joking around, so Thank you!
Despite of your quick and respected response, I was a bit disappointed as your reply to my message was to press "Tutorial" link where the newest post there was in 2011 !!! which is 5 years ago! And despite of that , all the links posted there are not working plus that was before the was something called Windows 8.
Now I would like to repeat my question again in a clearer way and I apologize if I didn't make it clear on the 1st post.
Is there anyway to move or transfer Windows phone ( 8 ) SMS to Android phones where it can be read on Andoid? If there is no way up till now,
Is there a hope that Android developers can invent a one or should I return my new bought Android phone and keep using Windows Lumia?
Thanks again for your help
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA assist.
I believe there is no known method on XDA that can do this.

[Completed] is there a way to buy a mid range phone & convert to STOCK android

Hi
Good day folks
I've been an iPhone user for long. Presently I'm using an iPhone 6. I've been wanting to test an android. My search lead me to various forums where I was advised that stock android is the safest, least troublesome. With a budget of $250 - $ 300 (max Max) I was told Nexus 5x is an option. Ultimately adding shipping etc, 5x, 6 etc were above budget !
So, I'm here with the question, "...is there a way to buy a reasonable phone within $250-$275 budget (+$25 shipping) & convert to stock Android ? Which phone and how ? how easy / cumbersome ?
TIA for tips and experiences
PS : I'm new here, so IF this is the wrong forum, please direct me.
Regards
Subu

[Completed] The Essential Information About BATTERY!

hi guys
Im new to the xda, and im hoping to find a complete answer from the experts here.
i was looking for a new phone to buy, my old phones were LG g2 mini and Meizu MX4 pro.
The main problem i had with these two phone were battery life (and i had a major problem with meizu in heating and lagging so much!! Once I recorded temperature of 69 Celsius in meizu !! )
Now that I want to buy a new phone I started to read reviews and GSM Arena Battery life Table.
but it doesn't get me anywhere!
my main question is :
with enabling your data on mobile full day and using apps like telegram, and with minimum time of playing games(like boom beach)
which battery can makes through a day and half of use ?!
i was thinking of Sony Z5 Compact, but i couldnt decide whether its battery is good or not ?
in a nutshell, which phone can lasts longer with enabling data on 3g fulltime ? (there isnt any answer on the internet ! )
thank you in advance for your answers guys
