Hi there, since a few days ago I can´t download certain apps from the play store while being connected to my home Wifi (I can download them using 3G but I don´t have a big data plan).
For example I can download Facebook app but Instagram gets stuck in downloading forever.
This issue happens for any phone connected to my home network, tried:
Nexus 5x - Android 7.0 and 6.0.1
Nexus 4 - Android 5.1
Moto X Style - Android 6.0.1
Also tried:
Clearing cache and data of every related app (google play store, play services, downloading manager).
Factory reset
Restarting router
Reset to defaults the router
Disabling IPV6
Enabling IPV6
Using Guest session in the router
Changing date and time of the phone, router, etc
My router is a DLink DSL-2750B and my ISP is Wind Infostrada Italy
Thank in advance!

Hello
This looks like a problem with your wifi as you have the same issue with different devices.
Maybe you can contact your ISP or try to get your router fixed

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my nexus, I've noticed that my internet on my phone is acting quite...strange to say. I have a dual band router(d-link 880l) and on my phone I only use the 5GHz one. it's the only device in my home that has problems.
The problem is that when searching something using the google bar it takes ages until I get the desired result, on youtube app sometimes when I open it ,it won't load anything,the second I close it and open it again it works,some videos just refuse to start until i restart the whole application, sometimes whatsapp doesn't connect to their server I have to restart the app to get messages, or to see las act of people,on facebook messenger is the same story,when i send a message it won't send ,it acts like I have no internet connection,until I restart the app. Ironically I get CONSTANT 81mb/s download and 91mb/s upload in speedtest.net app.
I really don't know what to do ,i've forgotten my network,tried connecting on 2.4GHz,put my wif i mode only in 2.4GHz,enterd recovery cleard cache partition,unninstaled whatsapp,youtube,fb messenger,google app,deleted all google play services data,restarted phone,neither of those fixed it...
Can you help me...?
Are you running the latest stock ROM or some other ROM/kernel combination?

I'm running rastapop 5.1.1 LMY48I with elementalx 4.04 since august 2015 with no fancy kernel settings or mods, just adblock and xposed over the top.I started to have this problem since november.
I did a factory reset on the router and I still have the problem.
To rule out software being the problem, I recommend flashing back to stock to see if the issue goes away.
I own a D-link DIR-850 (dual band AC router as well) and I am experiencing kind of the same problems. I have a Nexus 5 with latest firmware (MMB29S) but have had these issues for a while already. My girlfriends HTC One mini suffers from these problems as well. Most annoying is the seemingly random disconnects from whatsapp, I guess caused by Google Play Services being unreachable as at that same time also the Play store and other services relying on it are unreachable. Not sure whether this is an Android bug or caused by a bug in the Dlink router, which off course has been reset to factory defaults and checked for updates several times
Strange thing is that at the times that the Play Services are unreachable, other (plain internet based) services such as browsing with Chrome are working just fine.
I did some research on this compatibility issue between an android phone and a d-link router after I discoverd I'm not the only one.
The problem turned out to be some bug that is present in a way or another in android since lollipop , I think that lollipop(my case) is getting stuck when trying to do a DNS lookup ,but the problem is that it only happens on my home network, I don't have any problems at my friends wi fi or a public one. So my router isn't playing well with lollipop or the other way around.
The only solution I found to this problem is to disable ipv6 on your router or on the phone. So I did ,made a script that changes a value in a file, here it is : "echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/wlan0/disable_ipv6". With this I disabled ipv6 protocols on my phone(i've verified "disable_ipv6" file just to be sure that the value is "1") . Everyone bragged about it that it sloved their problem. Well guess I'm not that lucky,the problem still persists on my phone...
I've tried everything in the book...guess that this brand new 150 dollar router is not that impressive as they say...
I don't really want to factory restore my phone,I want to be my last option...the guy above me said that it did the factory reset thing and it didn't work so guess that it isn't an option after all...
If someone can help me(us), i will be very pleased...
At my workplace we have an Asus RT66NU providing the wifi, where I have never had any problem with this.
As you are suspecting it has something to do with the ipv6 stuff, I'll be experimenting with this a bit to see if something changes. First test is putting the autoconfiguration setting to SLAAC+stateless DHCP.
Next step will be disabling ipv6 at all.

I tried with PPPoE( my internet connection ) on ipv6 that is shared with my ipv4 session with SLAAC + stateless DHCP and stateful DHCPv6 . At first it was promising but in the end it didn't really solve my problem. Just for the record ,I had my ipv6 settings before on local connectivity only .
Hi All,
I hope im not duplicating this question ( i have searched with no results).
Recently Ive been having a problem with the mobile tethering from the tablet. My phone shows connecting, connects for a few seconds and disconnects. This happens a few times then it shows the message Authentication Error.
Im trying to connect my Note 5 which is on 5.1.1 but the tablet is on 5.0.2.
I have tried the following already:
Changed SSID to a different name;
I changed the broadcast channel to a specific channel;
I cleared data of Google Services Framework (messed up the syncing of my Google account but resolved this);
I changed the password;
I changed from Allowed devices only to all devices and back;
Removed security and password to connect;
Deleted the device as an allowed device and re-added it.
On the Note 5:
I forgot the network and reconnected;
I reset settings in the backup and reset menu (this is missing on the tablet)
The phone connects to other wifi networks.
Ive noticed the issue starts in my office but at home I manage to connect sometimes. It does disconnect from time to time.
This started about a month back, before that it connected without any issues. Any ideas what i should check or reset to resolve this? I don't want to do a factory reset. Connecting via bluetooth works perfectly still.
Thank you,
Any help please?
Any ideas why the tethering would not work at certain locations?
Google Play Store does not load images when on WiFi. If I turn off WiFi they load fine on 4G (VZW). My WiFi-only Nexus 7 running same 6.0.1 OS loads images just fine so it's not my router settings. I have:
Rebooted phone
Cleared cache and data of Play Store app
Disabled app (which uninstalled back to factory version) and re-enabled
Any help is appreciated!
Well, strange things happen. I was out and went on another WiFi network and images worked. So I think to myself, it must be my router settings. Then I get back home and the images are working now on my home WiFi too........gremlins!
The issue returned. Turns out my ISP (Time Warner Cable) is having DNS server problems. I switched back to OpenDNS which I had been using before getting a new router and problem solved. My wife's Galaxy S6's Play Store wouldn't even download or update apps. The switch to OpenDNS fixed that too!
Googled links acknowledging WiFi issues but nothing here? I can't be the only one. Best solution I've found until LG fixes in an update is to run DNSet from the play store. It changes DNS servers for phone to Google's.

Honestly, I've had no issues whatsoever with my WiFi
Long live doodoo
I've had wifi drop pretty frequently to the point i have to turn off data in my home.
I changed my home router to use OpenDNS rather than my ISP's DNS servers, which seemed to fix the issue, but after a while the problems have returned. I've tried booting to recovery and clearing the cache. Right now running DNSet app is a workaround that's working.
I have a Nexus 7 2013 tablet running same 6.0.1 Android and have no issues with it, which leads me to believe the problem is not my router but the LG G5 device.
The saga continues . . . my wife's Samsung Galaxy S6 has worse problems than my LG G5. Hers won't even download or update apps on Play Store. Sometimes Facebook just "spins" trying to update. Meanwhile my Nexus 7 never has had the slightest problem, and all three devices are running Android 6.0.1.
I reset my Belkin AC1200FE Dual-Band Wireless Router to factory settings and reconfigured the 2.4 and 5Ghz access points. I then went on both our phones to "Backup & Reset / Network settings reset" and did that. So far, so good.
My WiFi is slow as well. I went from 171mbs to 30 mbs. I can't figure our what would cause this. What's the difference between my old M9 and the G5
I'm thinking it's Android 6.0.1 affecting certain devices. My wife's Galaxy S6 had zero issues before updating to Marshmallow.

I was having the same painfully slow wifi issue on my home network. It was "Return of the Slowskis". Turned out to be using Duel Band Router. What I did to resolve my issue was make my router 2.4GHz: g, n.... 5GHz I set to AC only. Each has with different names as well. Then I reset the phone's network settingsbto make sure cache was dumped. Restarted the phone.... Set the phone to 2.4GHz and off to the races I go.
I have a OnePlus 2, and when i connect to my wifi network (also tried in a few different places like coffee shops etc - same problem) the speed is around 0.5mbps (measured by speedtest app, browsing, downloading etc), with any other device in my home i get around 50mbps. The signal is great, it connects normally, everything ok except speed. BUT, sometimes (extreamly rare) when I connect to my wifi the speed is normal (50mbps) and it stays that way until I disconnect and connect again...then I drops to 0.5mbps.
Things I tried:
Tried using static ip, and any other setting available in wifi settings.
Tried wiping cache/dalvik, factory reset, format internal storage.
Tried downgrading to lollipop, also flashing custom roms cm13/cm14/exodus/hydrogenos and also custom kernels.
Nothing above solved my issue, the problem was always the same. It's not router releated, because I tried connecting to different ones, same thing. Any advice?
Thank you in advance!

There is very little on the device that would cause this because your data speed is more controlled by the network you're connected to than by the device.
More than likely, it's something running in the background tying up your data connection, probably google play services and the playstore checking for updates. If you're using Facebook app, Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, Kik, Snapchat or any of the other social media/texting apps, they also tie up your data connection scanning for notifications and updates.

I was thinking the same, but then I did a factory reset, 0 apps installed and same speed... I tried connecting to different wifi networks in different places...same speed :/
EDIT: and as I said above, in extreamly rare cases when I connect- it works...then if I disconnect and reconnect again I get the same speed issue (doesn't matter if I do this in an hour or 5 hours)

You Stoll have google play services and google playstore after the reset, if you'll read around a little while, you'll see that the updated google play services causes slow data, battery drain and heating issues because its constantly scanning network, sane for playstore.
