Hi XDA friends!
I've got a question for you because I guess you've more knowledge about this subject than me...
In my country t-mobile just launched its 'madness month', which means: discounts, discounts and more discounts. Since I can extend my deal with t-mobile from now on, I'm searching for a new phone to come with the deal. I'm choosing between the Huawei P9 and the LG G4 Leather.
Important things for me:
- I should be able to unlock bootloader & root it (preferably on a mac) for Xposed
- Battery-life
- Filming quality with normal light (I film sports on a tripod)
- Future android updates
That's about it I think.
What would be your suggestion?
P9 or G4?
Thanks!
P9 of course.

Hi,
I'm saying good bye to my trusty old S4 today & buying a brand new S6 (920F) out the box. Did some research on S6 last night & discovered that some models ship with a Sony camera sensor (superior) and some with Samsung camera sensor (inferior).
I read that those manufactured in Korea are more likely to have the Sony sensor as opposed to those made in Vietnam which are more likely to have the Samsung sensor. It should state on the box in which country it was made, right?
Can anyone confirm this or advise otherwise?
Impossible. Case closed.
And you're better off with the new HTC 10 or you could always wait for Nexus 2016.

I'm picking the S6 up for cheap on a contract. Nexus has very little features compared to <insert manufacturer> in general & doesn't get sold in my country. HTC has no support in my country and is terribly over priced too!
I'm happy with an "old" Samsung Galaxy S6 and (for all its shortcomings) I will mod it till it's perfect.
So you say it's impossible to determine beforehand which camera sensor I'll be getting just by looking at the box and seeing where it was manufactured? Life certainly is a box of chocolates!
But on the contrary, I always believe "impossible is none" - just ask Nike!

My S6 has the ISOCELL sensor. I do not experience any problems with it. You need not worry about it.

In case you have eye defects or missed it; there's a 'Thank You' button beneath most comments/posts in a thread on XDA for a reason.
Contact a moderator for clarification on its use/purpose.

Yes but he's not obliged to do it , it's optional. The guy was kind enough and thanked you no need to tell him to press the thanks button , just let it go.
And i know xda very well i don't need your clarifications , let's stop this Off-Topic now.

One of life's great mysteries. No one except possibly 2 Honor people know the exact answer to that question.
Close this thread. There's an Oreo discussion thread already.
We dont even know if Honor Canada/US wants to release Android/EMUI 8 onto Honor 8 so we have no details
ANOTHER THREAD?! You guys cant just wait or READ THE OTHERS THOUSANDS OF THREADS ?!!!! This is so annoying....

I'm tired of people complaining so much about this. This forum isn't that active anyway, is one new thread destroying it? U guys overreact, it's not a big deal.

The app is called ShotOn For Honor. But apparently on XDA I'm not allowed to post links so search that on the play store.

Hi
Excited for v15 pro? There are many discounts available on all online retailers currently.
I am tempted to buy it for my mother after watching unbox therapy video. Camera seems nice.
Share your thoughts on device and performance here.
PS: anyone with device can share *#07# info and install treble app to check if it supports seamless updates would be nice.
I have it on pre-order, to be delivered by 6th. Its a decent device for its price. I shall share more once i get my hands on the device.
As far as development is concerned, please dont expect anything as Vivo does not releases any source. You can take a look at the Nex forums, users kept waiting and waiting and nothing from Vivo so dont keep any hopes. The only good part of this device is the Camera and OS based on Pie out of the box which till now is only available in the Nex dual screen edition and the V15/V15 Pro, later devices like the Nex/V11 Pro may get it later this year.
Got it for INR 26525.00 from flipkart.

Hi
I have a Vivo V5s/ Vivo 1601.
How can i root it??
I am a newbie and don't know much about these.
Please help.
Seems like a solid all round device, I'd say this should end up getting some development love
I agree, but I also see some flaws which might be unattractive to some developers. Specially the old chipset. But we will see how well it will turn out. To me, the hardware is pretty great, but the software is horrible.

To be fair alot of other high end phones are coming out with mediatek chips which severely limits development. Imo this chip is a good balance, a flagship speced processor would have bumped up the price alot considering the other specs are so good

Since we have two devices xiaomi/Poco I'd say we will have some support for sure. I'm surprised that xda made threads for these within the same week they were released so clearly they think there will be interest too
I think the problem is all the variants. I got mine from Aliexpress and it's a redmi note 11 pro but pissarro? I don't even see it on these forums.

Yeah Xiaomi/Poco have lots of slight differences and models haha. Similar phone but looks like yours has a mediatek chip which will mean next to zero development...
I'm also looking at buying a Redmi Note 11 Pro, specifically the non+ Snapdragon 695 in the hopes we will get development. I wanted the + with the MediaTek but I also realize that won't have any development so..
Dont expect too much support for this Phone. Because of its High Price for the low specs it flopped hard on the Market.

To be fair, I think the price more than justifies what you get. The only thing I hear people criticizing is that the processor is slower than the previous model - can't say I've experienced any stutters or lag etc. Each to their own but I'm more than happy

Absolutely, but i think you can get much more for the same price or even cheaper and most people thinking the same. For example: Why would i choose the X4 if i can get a F3 much cheaper.

I guess some people may prefer a phone that has a micro SD slot, alot faster charging, bigger battery and better battery life because a processor like that is overkill imo. Either way, both phones have their usages - like every phone, it has pros and cons. Out of curiousity, how come your here in this thread about it?
After installing MIUI EU and rooting, this phone is a beast
