Huawei P9 vs. LG G4: which one should I buy?

Hi XDA friends!
I've got a question for you because I guess you've more knowledge about this subject than me...
In my country t-mobile just launched its 'madness month', which means: discounts, discounts and more discounts. Since I can extend my deal with t-mobile from now on, I'm searching for a new phone to come with the deal. I'm choosing between the Huawei P9 and the LG G4 Leather.
Important things for me:
- I should be able to unlock bootloader & root it (preferably on a mac) for Xposed
- Battery-life
- Filming quality with normal light (I film sports on a tripod)
- Future android updates
That's about it I think.
What would be your suggestion?

Is anyOne making Rom's for this honor 8

i am thinking of investing in this phone since its now entered the uk market.
but i look on this site when getting a new android and for this i see very little custom rom.
is this going to get a better community going or should i get a better well known phone.?

So far, no source code and no custom ROM yet.

How are We supposed to know? If you are not going to build them yourself, nobody will (at the moment). It will happen like with the Honor 4C, Honor 7, Huawei P8 Lite, etc...

Jeez sorry guy's just wanted to know if anyone knew any mod's on here who are creating rom's for this. i got the phone today anyway, will just use as stock untill,,,,,,,,,,,,
I would make my own rom for this if it was like the year 2009

Providing ajsmsg78 a X2 device, in order to keep the X2 development going

Hi every one
As most of you know, ajsmsg78 has been the main developer for the mediapad X2 here on xda, providing a lot of help, and some very useful ROMs for our device. I already discuss about that with him in january 2017, but the idea is back now:

So, in order to let ajsmsg78 keep helping everyone around here, and update his "Kanvip Slim" and "simply international" very usefull custom ROMs (to include the new fixes added in huawei official roms these last month), that would be great to getting him a X2 device! Here are some ways:
- asking the users that posted about broken screen once, if they would cheaply sell (or lent) their device if not repaired!
- finding a cheap used X2 to sell, on the internet
- donate to ajsmsg78 via his paypal adress available on his profile
Thanks for helping development for the X2, to stay alive!!
PS: any other ideas are welcome!

It is sad to see so less interest even here at XDA
Over that it looks like our beloved X2 is sold out nearly everywhere.......
Hope there will be a final KangVIP inclusive BT fix .....

It's a port so there are things that may never work (like VOLTE). The key is to use the files from stock EMIU to replace the files in the CM13 rom that are causing some of the bugs. The hard part is figuring out which files need replacing.

[News] arter97 might do something for Poco

Hey everyone, arter97 posted a poll on Twitter asking"How many Pocophone users are here?". If he gets enough enough votes he might release kernel for your Poco you love.
If you don't know him he is a recognized developer from South Korea and his works are just awesome. He is the developer of YouTube downloader arkTube. He's now working on Mi pad 4 and OnePlus 6 and if we show enough support we might even get our device on the list. His works are recognized for quality over quantity.

I was planning to buy this phone, but wanted to confirm that will there be a nice development (custom ROMs, custom kernels, mods, etc) for this phone in future or will it be abandoned like note 6 pro.
And also who all developers got their phone.

Unfortunately, none of us can predict the future. So the situation can turn out any way, irrespective of what people can guarantee.
The signs of this device getting plenty of development love is good. But there is absolutely nothing that guarantees developers won't abandon it.

Well, yeah u are right, my brother had a redmi note 5 pro and now all developers shifted to poco f1.
It was a little dumb question btw

If that is the case, you can expect a Poco F2 to come out in Q3 2019 as well. So that will always happen, since Poco will likely release an affordable flagship. There will be some migration happening then as well.
