Yes, will be available tomorrow. They told me that it's uploading but the connection is slow.

I already have the link to rom ..i will only post the link when u transfer 300$ in to my account

Haha nvidia will update if its in their best interest which i highly doubt it is considering the latest update that they will no longer be bringing out another tablet

Many trolls here i see

Yes all of the people above were trolling. There is no information on if or when they will even do 7 for the shield tablet. The shield TV should get it but also no info...

Why would you want Nougat?
What's the point of updating software when the hardware remains the same?
Look how slow MM is..

Nobody knows, if Nvidia will give us Android N. So the question from the OP can't be answered.
But I think, that it'll come. Let's wait patiently.

I just saw..

The bigger issue is that they are not making a tablet to replace this one and are only maybe making a new portable it passed FCC but that does not mean it will get made. I am hoping shield TV sales are doing well enough or we might instead see the shield line get dropped entirely and if that happens forget getting 7 or any other patches first party anything like that will be 3rd party so none of the cool 1st party things in these roms...
My issue is Nvidia is doing a dumb move they can't keep the tablets on the shelves. If they updated the tablet but kept the same price point they would still sell almost faster than they could make them...

I can think of 250 reasons...

I'm working on it, no gurantees though

my biggest issue is going to be unless nvidia does 7 then we wont be getting optimized drivers or any 1st party features

The shield is an interesting case because it's almost entirely pure Android, and the fact that we got 6.0 so quickly alongside the other Nexus devices makes it seem like, to me, that it's an unofficial equivalent to a Nexus 8 tablet since Google doesn't make a Nexus 8.
That could also be a coincidence seeing that the shield is nvidia's only Android device which might explain why they're so quickly able to build the latest versions of Android for this device when you see other devices either never getting official upgrades or are heavily delayed.
Also since the base hasn't changed too drastically it seems possible that it might just be very easy for them to port over the build features like console mode and whatnot between versions, whereas something like touch wiz is obviously much more complex.
Therefore it almost seems like it would be silly for nvidia to not update their device to 7.0, even with the NX around the corner, seeing as that's likely to become the next generation of shield tablet, per say. They might as well pop out this update in the mean time and leave it there. I mean all the Nexus devices get updated at the same time and basically have the same exact code anyways!
If it wasn't for the fact, as I've been hearing at least, that Google and nvidia are dropping support I'd say we'd be getting it for sure. However my hopes are high and I still think we probably will since it's truly such an optimized OS and would pull every last bit of performance left in this device. We'll see for sure in the coming weeks. Cheers

New software can fix old bugs compatibility issues and make the software run faster. The same is true with an operating system.

I find it good that Nexus one is running it, then I might be able to get a port for my HTC deisre
Great finding, thanks!

All the screenshots so far have the notification bar cropped out, Google must be cooking up something so big with the notification bar that even the leakers can't bare to reveal yet.
One bad thing though, if the rumours is right then Google will release a new phone around Christmas. I guess this will be with more powerful hardware which will be able to run honeycomb or something.
So then requirments might increase siginficantly to 3.0, which means i need a new phone soon
Well our Nexus's are ready now for Ginger & co.

It's not a rumor, Nexus Two (or whatever they call it) it's going to be announced probably
in November 8th. Manufactured by Samsung. It's the same phone as the Galaxy S
but a little thinner and with a curved back.
Eric Schmidt: "Initially, Google felt that they needed to build a device to help Android along so they worked with HTC to create the Nexus One handset. Schmidt says: “The idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful, we didn't have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticised us heavily for that. I called up the board and said: 'Ok, it worked. Congratulations - we're stopping'. We like that flexibility, we think that flexibility is characteristic of nimbleness at our scale."

Bollocks! I knew I should've waited!! I loved my Nexus One until it was stolen. I loved the fact that everything came there first, as far as updates etc. It was so obviously Google's own phone. I didn't like that I had to use Dialer-One and Launcher Pro though (not crazy about stock Android dialler).
I love my Galaxy S's hardware, but I'm not loving this RFS stuff. How can I recommend a phone to people if they're going to have to lagfix it.. How do I know some OTA update isn't going to break it a year down the line and then they all start phoning me ?!
A Galaxy-S Nexus would be cool I reckon ..

[Q] Anyone lose their touchscreen access on their TF101?

I'm hoping that this isn't something dumb on my part, but my touchscreen only worked for about an hour and then it just stopped working after that - I had it in sleep mode for awhile. I tried a data wipe and even drained the battery dry, but so far no change.
Has anyone seen this issue? I'm hoping it's something fixable and not a hardware problem. Or if anyone has any other ideas, that would be appreciated -- thanks! I'm also trying to track down that new update to see if maybe that might help me.

try pressing and holding both the power button and the volumn button together until it shuts down
I don't have mine yet so can't comment on what's going on. But hopefully you are right in that it is software issue rather than hardware. Were you rooted?

Not even rooted. I had used it for about 20 minutes, put it in sleep mode, then tried it a few hours later and the touchscreen stopped working.
I also tried the Modaco update (later on), but that doesn't reflash everything - it's more of a supplement (I made nandroid backup so I can undo).

Dang... Get a new one! Glad to see you on this device, not going to lie. I was about to pull the trigger on a vgt until i heard about this device.
Other than the fact that the touchscreen is borked , it seems very nice. A little larger than the Xoom, but feels lighter. Screen ratio seems similar.
I was hoping to do some screen comparisons versus the Xoom, to see if this IPS is superior. Kinda hard to do that now - my hope was that this would replace my slow but reliable R10.

I was going to do the same thing that I did with the Xoom, which is post on Slatedroid and then link from here - in my mind, the sharing of knowledge being the most important thing. But I don't think XDA rules permit that unless I support both areas - I think I could manage that, though.
Of course, my device is in no shape for any modding right now. Still, I might try a Ventana image just for the heck of it. I'd just like to know if my problem is hardware based or not.

Nothing is going all that fast but it has been known for almost 2 years now that HTML5 was going to replace Flash eventually. For alot of reasons mostly, because the Language is more flexible and allows dynamic interaction with media, less proprietary tags and is a smaller data size. But I fail to see how flash (or the lack thereof) has any impact on Android since Android already currently uses HTML5 now.

Or maybe you could actually make a useful contribution for once, at least once every 1500 posts. There's enough clutter and nonsense in these fora already, someone that reminds everyone of said state falls very close to being part of the problem. But I guess it's ok as long as you never get out of the Transformer section and think of yourself as of a witty, handsome boy.
I'm just trying to learn and understand. No need to be snarky as the only rule of xda is to be respectful. No need to be so nasty. If you didn't have anything to contribute why did you even post in my thread?

It doesn't. How many times in the past month have you used Flash on your Android device? I'm betting not many - Flash is nice to have (and the plugin is staying on the Android Market) but there's no loss in not having it. The thread you link to is pure hyperbole as well.
I use flash on my tablet almost every time I use it, I prefer to have the desktop functionality of full web pages rather than using less feature full apps. A good example is YouTube, although I sometimes use the app because its easier to use, I love the functionality of the full YouTube web page and therefore watch most YouTube videos in the browser, in flash.
I dont really mind that they have stopped development of flash, so long as I can continue to use the current version on my device until it is no longer needed (i.e. when HTML5 starts to appear instead of flash on most websites).

Q3 rollout though? It might as well not be coming out at all. I feel certain that sometime between now and Q3 I will not be able to resist picking up some stupidly powerful quadcore tegra3 (or similar) device which will have launched with ICS, and probably for a decent price.
It all leaves me imagining that Motorola only have a single solitary developer with a shoestring budget tasked with putting out the software upgrades for their existing range of phones. Why else would it take so long?
Anyway, looks like our own wonderful development community is the place to pin our hopes for some kind of ICS goodness, within a reasonable time frame.

Not a big fan of the trombone. I mean, I respect it as an instrument, and the people who play it as musicians, but it would have been much more helpful if you had picked something like a cello (which I also like much more than the violin).

We'll get ICS WAYYYYYY before Q3. The dev are working on it as we speak the only thing stopping them is that they're missing the telephony.apk which we need in order to connect to a GSM network. Without it we have a really small tablet with ICS.
Since we know that there is ATLEAST 1 dev in Motorola working on it that means that there will be a working APK with any betas/alphas that get out into the wild. As soon as that happens you can bet jim or lfaber will jump on it and fisnish their ICS masterpiece and maybe make CM7 or CM9 with it.

That is exactly correct!!!
So everyone keep checking cheesecake, ALL servers at least once a day, that is how we will find an early version, as we did with 2.3.6 months before it was out officially. If we get that, then yes we can get CM9 working.
I might have CM7 out here by the weekend, at least that is what I am hoping, but it is still not ICS, it is the 2.3.6 version.
I know its not as fast as we'd prefer, but isnt it nice to hear SOMETHING official from Moto about this phone? We all have been in limbo, heard assumptions, conflicting rumors/"inside" info, so I like that we at least know the future of our device, officially.

Great news. We own one of the most underrated phones out. 2.3.6 made the phone better, ics will hopefully put it over the top.
Thanks a lot for the info. I was reading the bootloader unlock thread when the news came out. That just made my day.

Well that and the locked bootloader. Doesn't that still hinder us a bit?
Can't wait hopefully we can find a bootloader unlock during the run up to ics

Well, after trying every phone out there (including a brand new unlocked Galaxy Nexus (returned), SGSII, HTC Vivid, etc.) I can say without a doubt the A2 is the all-around best android phone out there for AT&T. I have come back to it everytime after finding the other phones were either cheaply built, couldn't hold a signal, couldn't obtain gps lock, or took crappy pics. While the A2 doesn't do any one thing extraordinarily better than other devices, the phone does everything well with good battery life and great screen to boot.
ICS will definitely make the A2 a keeper, especially if can finally unlock the bootloader for some custom kernel goodness
Q3 is July - September, when September comes expect an announcement about delays and when 2013 come expect your atrix 2 on ebay.

New Firmware Update! NMJ03B!

Just finished install. Camera app is now version 0.1.073. The Play Store version is still version 0.1.067. Oh, and I should state that my phone is a pre-production review unit so you all probably won't get this update. Let me go play with this camera and I'll post if I notice any changes. October security patch!
EDIT: Sorry. In trying to add a second image displaying the camera changelog, I somehow created a second thread. Could the mods please remove the first thread with only the one picture? Thanks!
Can you also check the slow scrolling?

Scrolling seems no different to me. But I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
When you scroll slow it looks like the framerate chugs.
Here is a super obvious example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbw_TUnfXuU
The slow scroll micro stuttering is something I hope to see fixed. Please tell me it is.

I see what you mean now. It's still there. Maybe not as bad as in the video, but still noticeable.
That is unfortunate. Let's hope the final build will fix this.
I'm getting NMI81C installed right now.

Micro stutters
I updated to today's build and no changes whatsoever to the slow scrolling issue. I'm VERY disappointed. If they don't fix it within a few months I'm done. This is my biggest issue with the phone. Coming from the HTC U11, the slow scrolling is horrible.

I'm using a preproduction phone that Essential sent out to reviewers. Those phones use beta-keys builds. Guess they are the Guinea pigs.

You should dump the camera APK for us to test!

In today's Reddit AMA, me and a bunch of other people brought it up. They said they have a fix for it and it will be in one of two OTAs planned for release in the next few weeks. SOURCE
Any way to force NMI81C? Mine still says September patch levels are current.
EDIT: I was able to force the update onto my phone via adb sideload. Worked fine. Instructions at:

Just installed the new update.
Seems to be much faster opening and processing now.
Only my opinion of course.

Finally one opinion about what this update is about: the camera, and not the stuttering. Hopefully other camera-related opinions will follow !

You're correct. As of tonight it still isn't offering me October.
---------- Post added at 10:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 PM ----------
The camera has virtually no lag for me and even HDR shots only take about 1 second to process in the background. I find it comparable to what I have been able to get from the Google camera. I find that both have a bit of a blue shift in most cases that I have not been able to get rid of. It's more sensitive to it in office lighting. I also find that with both apps, the output is slightly oversaturated (verified by pulling to my laptop to rule out the screen itself).
None of it is bad enough for me to really complain about it, but I'll be trying to find ways to tweak as we move forward. I love the phone otherwise. It is incredibly snappy, at least for me. I don't notice any lag.
