Cant turn of lockscreen - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The option is greyed out. Says due to administrator, encryption, or trusted credential. Phone is not encrypted. Cleared the credentials. And there are no apps with administrator privileges . My phone is rooted, however.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

[Q] Use Secure Credentials

There are a couple of other threads on this topic that are still unanswered for other phones, here and here.
But I see this problem on the Sensation as well, but maybe even worse:
Using a secure wifi connection with a stored personal certificate.
After rebooting, the phone will not connect to the WiFi because the check-box for "Use Secure Credentials" under the Security settings screen is unchecked.
If you don't notice this, the WiFi manager will continue to retry many times (endless loop?) failing each time, while it may be connected to 4G. This probably drains the battery since my phone was getting somewhat warm during this retry process.
You may simply go to the screen and tick the check-box, and enter your password and everything should be okay. This is annoying at least.
But if you have never set up a "Secure Credentials" password, you have to first "Clear all Credentials" than enter a new password, just to tick the check-box. This is even more annoying..
Does anyone know if this is being resolved?
Is it an Android problem generally?
Howdy!
A bit late to the party...
Using an HTC Sensation running CM7.1 alpha 10
I also have this problem. Found an app that checks "Use Secured Credentials" at boot, but that is just an ugly fix https://market.android.com/details?id=ru.chunky.AutoKeystore
I have no idea why should it be unchecked. Maybe something to do with Android/Linux and permissions? Where in the filesystem are these kind of settings saved?

[Q] Use Secure Credentials - Unchecked After Rebooting Phone

The basic problem is that when connecting to an enterprise wifi network, you must enter a password for using secure credentials. The password entered is only valid for that session and does not survive a reboot. After rebooting, the check-box for "Use Secure Credentials" under the Security settings screen is unchecked. The phone will continue to try and connect to the enterprise wifi network (failing each time) until the "Use Secure Credentials" checkbox is checked and the password is entered.
I saw that there were several threads under several different phone subforums discussing this same issue. The closest solution I found was an app called Keystore Unlocker. Unfortunately, it does not work with the current version of su and appears to be abandoned.
I'm looking for any suggestions on how to automatically enable this option following a reboot. Any options including paid apps are perfectly fine. I'm also rooted.
Did you find a solution to this? It is really annoying.
Many thanks.
Nope.
It's pretty crazy that there is no way this can be done - even on a rooted phone.
This guy is my hero...
Keystore Unlocker (root only)
An elegant solution to this issue. Works perfectly!
Fantastic!
Thanks for posting.
A strange thing happened. The Keystore Unlocker app stopped working for me. Previously, when my phone was booting up, I would see two "grants" for su for this app - one was for Keystore Unlocker and the other was for root. Now, when I reboot, I only see the first one. Strange thing is, when I do the "lock/unlock" test in the app, it works fine.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Cleared entries from Superuser. Reinitialized the keystore. Deleted and readded WiFi profiles. Cleared cache and Davlik.
Any other ideas?
For anyone following along, the most recent update to the Superuser app is what broke Keystore Unlocker. I downgraded and it's working again.

Why can't I shut off the lock screen security?

On stock 5.01. I have it on pin unlock right now but the options to shut it off are greyed out. The only other time I have ever seen that is whenever encryption is enabled which I do not have enabled, why can't I remove it?

Just tested on mine. I set and pin and then removed it. Do you have an app installed that set an administrator level policy on the phone? Under security-device administrators.
I believe that will also occur if you have an exchange email setup and exchange requires it.
Do you have a VPN configured?
Hmm ok. So I went through and deactivated all administraters but still "no lock screen" is greyed out.
No I do not nor have ever had an exchange account or anything other than just gmail.
As far as VPN I do not have one configured. I DO use super free VPN from the play store occassionally, but it hasn't created a noticeable VPN profile in my phone or anything. You have to run the app to even use it, and it gives you absolutely no info about what encryption tech it's using or anything else.
Just a side note, my phone is virgin 5.01 meaning it came straight from the posted ruu and wasn't upgraded from KitKat.
Just an update. Not sure what fixed it but I clicked on "clear credentials" under Security and instantly worked. Figured I would update in case someone else has the same problem!

That is the answer. Next time I looked it was back to the same state so it must be some sort of feature to make it hard on purpose.

Bank App says "Wrong Username or Password" when using fingerprint sign in...reset?

Bank App says "Wrong Username or Password" when using fingerprint sign in...reset?
After the last update to the OS, I can no longer connect to most, if not all apps (not 100% tested) using the fingerprint reader.
The message I get in the app is that the username or password is incorrect. Is there a way to clear and reset this? I deleted all fingerprints, turned off security completely, cleared all data on app, uninstalled app, rebooted then reinstalled and re-did my fingerprints. Can unlock screen no problem. Now when I run the app, I am asked for a fingerprint, and it does the same...bad username or password.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Fingerprint login to apps stopped working

Hi, my phone has stopped allowing me to log on to apps via fingerprint although I can still unlock the phone using fingerprint. The Nationwide banking app just says "We couldn't set up biometric login", and eBay says "Biometric registration failed, biometric sign in is not enabled". It has worked in the past. Is there a setting I'm missing? I can't find anything. I found advice to reboot to safe mode, delete fingerprint and pattern login, reboot and set them both again but that didn't work. Has anyone any suggestions please?
Phone is Lenovo P2 with LineageOS 20.
Thanks, Simon.
