Hello,
There are various threads at XDA with guides for deodexing stock Samsung firmware but they are spread through various Samsung device forms.
I suggest you view this forum in PC or mobile browser and look at the top of the page and you'll see a "search all forums" searchbar. In that bar, type:
Deodex Samsung stock ROM
That give you search results with multiple threads on deodexing ROMs, read them and post your questions in one of them.
Good luck.

Dude, first understand that the procedure to cook a ROM is same for all mobile brands having android (maybe except HTC)....what matters, is the processor and RAM of the phone....You can take any custom or stock ROM of the phone having same specs as a base and modify it to cook your ROM.....in short, mobile brand name doesn't matter....
1st link contains tutorial about using android kitchen and other tools to cook a ROM.....the heading clearly says "[UltimateGUIDE][How-to]Create your Own Custom ROM an easy way|Android Secrets -_-"
There is no brand name written, like samsung or sony even in the tutorial.....AND XR650 ROM is cooked by using this same guide.....you can check the thread 1st page to confirm....
sorry, i posted same link for 2nd & 3rd by mistake......that link contains LIST of various tutorials like flashing a rom, porting other roms (like PA, CM, SENSE, etc).....it also contains tutorials on compiling, decompiling, modifying APKs, boot animations, and LOT MORE.....
And here is 3rd link......this also contains LIST of various tutorials.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721539
please check all these 3 links once again.....
Thanks friend

Out of the gate I want to say that you guys are incredible for setting up a forum like this. I know you'll get lots of people who will just hop on here and ask some oft-answered question without ever taking the time to do a simple google search, but for those who don't abuse the forum I think it will be a real asset. Anyway, I have a Verizon Stratosphere II, a phone that as far as I can has received no development whatsoever outside of the followers of our devices small xda forum. It is an hdpi device that runs 4.1.2 touchwiz. If we want to mod or theme we have to sort of extrapolate procedures by readings tutorials for other devices. While this is a good way to learn, sometimes there are mountains we can't overcome without some help.
About two months I began trying to follow BOOTMGR's tutorial for upgrading the status bar to the one from 4.2.2. I have run into problem after problem from the beginning and have gotten most of them solved but I've been spinning my wheels for about 3 weeks now. I know that in order to edit the smali files in systemui I need to deodex it. Do I also need to odex the rest of the rom? I have done many mods to SystemUI before using apktool but never to smali files. I would think the proper order to do things would be something like:
1. deodex SystemUI
2. decompile SystemUI
3. perform mod from op
4. recompile SystemUI
5. reodex SystemUI
However, I've tried that and everything else I can think without success. Often it even successfully recompiles but then fcs when pushed back. I am 100% sure that my phone and the galaxy II on which the tutorial is based are similar enough this to be feasible, I just can't quite get there.
Thanks again for all you do guys!
Hi,
Try to see this thread => Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 > Galaxy S II Themes and Apps > [MOD][GUIDE][JB 4.1.2] AOSP Style Status Bar on Samsung ROMs
- [GUIDE]How to add customizable 14 statusbar toggle buttons for samsung ROM
and the answer from my colleague @Perseus71
You might want to pose the query in Android Software and Hacking General [Developers Only] where one of the other Developers might be able to help you with your issues in detail.
What I do believe, is that you need rest of the other System APKs particularly framework-res. You might be better served using [KITCHEN] ArchiKitchen - Android Kitchen (WIP) [Linux].
There are also a whole set of Tutorials by @Ticklefish . Those will help as well. He also has his own Theming tool Tickle My Android.

Hi guys! I'm a proud owner of a Cherry Mobile Fusion Wave Tablet that I don't freakin' know the OEM. I was wondering on how I can extract the ROM straight from the device itself?
I've already tried the romdump_v82b.zip method and it gave me an error about the emmc.
I can't do an SPFT Extraction because this tablet is having the Samsung Exynos 4412 SoC (The reason I got the tablet)
Any help is appreciated!!!
Hi there
There are many guides and tutorials here for developing roms:
> Chef Central > Android
After lots of reading, if you still have questions, ask in the thread of the guide you are using, or start your own thread and ask for help.
FYI: [TUTORIAL][GUIDE] How to extract your ***.tar.md5 ROM file (Samsung stock ROM) [EASY]
Good luck
I'm on Phronesis Rom V3 based on Darklord Note 5 port for N9005. I've extracted TouchWizHome_ZERO.apk from the rom but since I'm an MBA and not a Programmer, I don't know which .xml files to edit or how to edit them to have a 5x6 app drawer grid size. Before posting I've tried searching XDA and Google as well but found no satisfactory threats or forums. The guides are available but for Note 2 and that too for KitKat not lollipop which does not apply on Note 3 and specifically my current rom. I just need a noob friendly guide to do this job then I'll test it on my device and if succeeded I'll post my work on XDA for other users. Hope I'll receive appropriate & sufficient help on this one. Thank You.
