Need a straight answer... - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently purchased a heavily discounted Galaxy Note Edge from Optus in Australia. As I live and work in a rural area that Optus has never provided a service in, and the phone is locked, via software, to their system, is there a current, as in Marshmallow 6.0.1, global or international software release that I can flash to this phone that will allow me to be unbranded but able to connect to the rural service provider.

[Q] SIM unlocking question

Simple question. I was thinking about getting an AT&T phone to use on TMobile. If it's unlocked will it stay unlocked after software upgrades and such?
Yes. The radio firmware (which controls the SIM lock) is pretty much entirely independent of the OS version.
Bear in mind that, until T-Mobile finishes rolling out their new LTE spectrum, you'll only get EDGE (2.5G) speeds on a phone that uses AT&T's 3G bands (which are different from T-Mobile's). I've heard TMo may be planning to discontinue their true 2G service and re-use that spectrum (which includes the band that AT&T uses for 3G) to provide 3G coverage for AT&T phones, but if so, that will take time too.

Questions about G930F on US T-mobile Network

I am thinking about buying an unlocked G930F due to it being the only GSM model with an unlocked bootloader compared to the G930T. I was wondering if anybody had experience using the G930F on T-Mobile (or possibly ATT). I currently use Straight Talk on T-mobile's towers (previously used ATT and could switch back to their towers in the future). My concerns include:
1. Are you able to connect to all T-mobile bands (including band 12)?
2. Are you getting VoLTE?
3. Are you able to perform wifi-calling and/or wifi-texting?
4. Did you need to flash any international T-mobile firmware (made for the G930F Exynos model as opposed to the G930T Qualcomm model) in order gain access to VoLTE and/or wifi calling?
5. Did you have any problems with buying a "region locked" device where you couldn't immediately activate it on t-mobile?
6. Would you still recommend going with the G930F as opposed to an unlocked G930T?
I am still rocking my Galaxy S5 G900T running CM, but what I'm gathering is that the newer TW ROM is not as clunky as prior iterations. Some of your posts are really winning me over on the camera quality and battery life.
Cheers!

Note 5 on Canadian GSM network

I am in Canada on Rogers/Fido network. I bought a Sprint note 5, it works OK in my house but loses signals at various other locations. is there any way this could be fixed?
Short answer: nope.
Longer answer: You probably already know that the N920P supports only some of the LTE bands in use in Canada, specifically for Fido/Rogers it's only one of them. In practice, having used both an N920P and a N920W8 on Fido, while the W8 shows a way better signal most of the time, when the cell is congested it doesn't really feel any different. I don't know why this is exactly, but as an example - on the train platforms in Union Station, the Sprint phone would show no connection/poor connection and the Canadian phone would show a good connection. On either phone, transfer speeds are reduced to a trickle.
P.S. if you don't already have it, Package Disabler Pro can get rid of the stupid Sprint activation screen every time you power cycle the phone

Unable to connect to 4G+ on my phone (Nokia 8 Sirocco) which i bought overseas

Hi, I bought a new Nokia 8 Sirocco from Hong Kong and is using on my home network in Singapore. However I am only able to connect to 4G network. The phone is not able to achieve 4G+ connection on my network.
The phone is able to support the bands that my telco is using, LTE band 3 and 7. I tried contacting my telco and the technician has been trying to troubleshoot the issue on the network side but unfortunately, they informed me that there is no issue with the network, and confirmed that the phone does support the bands of the network. In this case, I should be going back to HMD to request for assistance.
At the moment, HMD support doesn't seem to be of any help. If I do not mistaken, both Hong Kong and Singapore are using similar bands, ie Band 3 and 7....
May I know how I can enable my phone to achieve 4G+ speed instead of the usual 4G speed?
Thank you in advance.

Have unlocked AT&T S10e with T-Mobile firmware..how do I get back to AT&T for wi-fi calling.

My phone is an unlocked AT&T phone. It has AT&T bloatware. The serial number indicates it is an AT&T phone. The service provider software version is ATT. I bought the phone so I could use the wi-fi calling feature which is nowhere to be found. Put the AT&T SIM in my son's phone and he has wi-fi calling. AT&T's website gives the latest firmware as G970USQS5GUF1. My phone was just updated OTA to G970USQS6GUI1 which happens to be the T-mobile firmware. I put a T-mobile SIM card in the phone and I now have wi-fi calling. T-Mobile coverage is basically non-existent in rural Appalachia so I don't want to switch carriers. I have read numerous posts that say the basic firmware is the same for all carriers. So, my question is which files do I need to flash to get wi-fi calling working on my phone? Also, I can't really go back to BL 5 can I? I am totally new to this although I have flashed a Moto before.
