How to view blocked texts on lg g5? - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

I have a galaxy note 5 and I can view blocked texts by going to blocked messages.
Is there a way to view blocked messages on the g5?
If not then will unblocking a number allow the old blocked texts to show up?

Depends on what you mean by block. If you turn off the default text app, you won't see them. Depending on the default app, you can turn off specific senders but if they are coming in and you don't know beforehand you may not be able to.
I only use Textra and almost never get text messages.
If you are thinking this will protect you from stagefright, it is more embedded than that and all the possible ways it can be used is unknown still.

How to make and respond to text messages using Verizon Messages+ on the Gear S3

Do you prefer to use Verizon Message+ instead of the default Samsung Messages app? Here is how you can make, receive and respond to text messages with Verizon Message+ through your Gear S3 as if it were the stock Samsung Messages app.
1. Go to the Gear Manager app on your phone
2. Under the settings tab, click on notifications, then manage notifications
3. Scroll down, make sure that Messages is checked, and Message+ is unchecked.
That's it. Now you can receive and respond to incoming text messages through Verizon Messages+ as if it were the default Samsung messaging app. You can also compose new messages and scroll through all your messages by clicking on the messages app on your watch. Pictures also come through to the watch.
I haven't tried this trick on other 3rd party texts apps, but it may work. Post your results below.

Did you mean uncheck Messages and check Message+? Otherwise you won't get the verizon messages notifications to reply to. Also you can only receive group messages you can't reply to them.
I have messages checked and Verizon Message+ unchecked.
I am able to view and respond to group texts.

So you're using the Samsung messaging and can respond to group texts? I can see group texts but can't reply to group text using the Samsung messaging app.
ttown, thanks great discovery. I have Verizon Messages+ as my default app on the phone. On my Gear I have Samsung Messaging turned on and VZ Messages+ unchecked. Works like a charm. I have a Verizon Note 5 and my Gear S3 is on T-Mobile.

I have tried having the messaging notifications on and Verizon messenger off and vise versa. In either case i am not able to respond to a group message.
Can anyone respond to all members of a group text in a single reply?
I am unable to respond to text. I have tried all combos.
I've been unable to get this to work either. LGV20 and gear s3 classic.

How does Messages for Web work?

I'm trying to figure out the privacy/convenience trade-off to see if it's worth it to activate Messages for Web, and I can't seem to really find any details.
I currently use Messages on my phone, and I am (naively?) under the impression that my SMS and MMS messages are delivered from my carrier (AT&T) directly to my phone and they stay on my phone and are merely displayed in the Messages app but the messages themselves are not transmitted to Google.
If I activate Messages for Web, would my complete SMS/MMS history be uploaded to Google's service and stored there indefinitely and then displayed in my browser when I access it?
Thanks

Text messages in call logs Samsung Oreo

Any way to stop text messages from showing up in call logs on Samsung Oreo devices? I've found the basic "show messages/hide messages" option, but all texts still show as soon as you click on a contact. I'd like that to show calls only, as I can look at my texting app if I want to read texts. Is there some way of achieving this? Can I stop texts from being logged without actually deleting the texts?

Notifications from blocked numbers

Reaching out for help on said topic. I am receiving notifications from blocked numbers. I'm particularly speaking about SMS messages. The messages appear in the blocked and spam folder, but in my notifications panel I still receive a blank text showing I received a message from the blocked number. I recently upgraded my phone from galaxy S20+ to S22+, and on the S20+, this was not an issue. Is there any way to not receive that notification. Nothing I'm doing seems to be working. I even tried uploading my saved settings from my S20+ but that did not resolve the issue.
Thank you!
