[Completed] Lexibook HD Power Tablet UK MFC162EN - XDA Assist

Hi all,
Just had a nice task of trying to reset a Lexibook tablet which isn't listed on the Lexibook website for support.
The owner had forgotten the user swipe pattern she had set and pressing the reset button wouldn't reset it completely.
The problem with Lexibooks is that they state to have it factory reset you need to send it back to them for a 30Euro charge.
After seeing a forum on here where gary.swallow said that he managed to reset one with a combination of keys I tried some out and found it to be the following.
1. Power off the tablet.
2. Press Volume UP and then press the Power button.
3. Release the Power button but hold the volume Up until the Android graphic is displayed with the red triangle.
4. Quickly press Volume Down.
This then takes you to the "Wipe Data and Factory Reset" option.
It is odd that Lexibook state that this has to be sent back to them to carry this out and there is no information anywhere on it to do this. There must be a lot of unhappy kids and angry parents out there.
Thanks to gary.swallow for his post on the Lexibook Tablet "Barbie" recovery for pointing me in the right direction.

Hard Reset of HTC Touch Pro

I've read through several posts regarding resetting my HTC Touch pro but nothing is working. My touch screen stopped working - it doesn't do anything when I tap the icons on the screen. The keys still work but the screen is not working.
With the power off I tried holding down the volume button while pressing the round "enter" button and then pressed the power on button. The only message I get is "you are about to power off the device, you will lose any information not saved". I've also tried holding down the down volume button while holding the enter button and then using my stylus hit the "reset" button on the bottom. This didn't do anything either - I hate this phone!
The phone is on the Alltel network.
How I hard reset my 6850 HTC Touch Pro
Using the recommended method I was not able to hard reset my phone after installing a custom ROM I maid using PPC Kitchen. But what I tried that did work was, Phone off (not just asleep), holding the volume down button, while holding down the round "enter" button, while holding down the power button, then also holding down the reset button holding down all these buttons worked. I did not have to hold them for long till the text instructions came up and I followed them. Let me know if this works for any of you.

I had the same issue. And it did not work for me either. I found this alternative way to hard reset from another site.....
Start/Settings/System and find Clear Storage and that will hard reset your device.

Factory Reset Instructions

Hey Guys,
Have been working on my site http://factory-reset.com - trying to list as many factory reset procedures as possible, was hoping some of you guys would contribute or that it would at least be useful to some of you.
Suggestions much appreciated.

Power down device. through software or hold power, up and down volume until all three bottom buttons flash. then the device will power down.
Once powered down, hold the volume down and power button. Continue holding for a brief moment, then release the power button while holding the volume down button.
Next the bootloader screen will appear toggle down with the volume down button and press the power button once on factory hard reset. Confirm your option and your device will reset.

[Completed] [Q] 7in Trio Stealth G2

I have a 7in. Trio Stealth G2. Its is stuck in a boot loop. Im currently waiting on the battery to die so I can try to hard reset that way, and to get to the Android recovery menu. The reset button on the back is completely useless at this point. Other than bouncing it off the wall im at the end of my rope. Tech support reps at Machspeed are anything but tech support. (they asked to walk me through the hard reset 3x)
Hi there,
From this thread I will quote the steps for reset: Trio Stealth G2 Hype frozen at boot logo
Hard Reset G2 – In the case of password lockouts or freezing, doing a hard reset on your android device could help you get back to the factory defaults. First you need to make sure your tablet is powered off. Hold down on the Volume + button and hold down the Power button at the same time. As soon as the tablet's screen turns on let go of the Power button but keep the Volume + button held down until you see a large Android in the center of the screen. At this point you will see a screen with boot options. Use the Volume – button to go down to Wipe Data Factory Reset and tap the Power button to select this option. On the next screen use the Volume – button again to go down to Yes and use the Power button to select. At this point it will be going through the wiping and resetting process. When it's done you will see the first screen you came to when you first started the setup. Just tap the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
Make sure tablet is powered off.
Hold down Volume + button and Power button at same time.
When screen comes on let go of Power button.
When the large Android shows on screen let go of Volume + button.
Use Volume – button to scroll to Wipe Data/ Factory Reset
Tap Power button to select.
Use Volume – button to scroll to Yes.
Tap Power button to select.
Tap Power button to select Reboot System Now.

Azpen A750 Tablet

Hello Everyone,
My dad gave me this tablet to try and reset/restore or just get it back to original out of the box state. Problem is he set up a password and now can't remember it. Tried a set of instructions I got from a simple google search which involved pressing power 10 times while holding volume down, then pushing reset 3 or 4 times with a paperclip...possibly while still holding volume down? I don't know, the instructions were somewhat vague. Bottom line I couldn't get that to work. Anybody out there familiar with these tablets? Thanks for the help
Jeff
Can you access the recovery ( usually by turning off the tab and pressing volume up and power button at the same time) if you can you should find an option to factory reset your tab. ( you can navigate to the reset option with volume keys and select using power button).
Press thanks if I helped.

I appreciate that. And as luck would have it, we figured out the password so we're in! Then the issue became on of getting warning pop-ups regarding the security of website certificates at every site we visited. Setting the correct date and time resolved it. So we're good now. Thank you very much for the help. Much appreciated.

Samsung's Stupidity! Factory reset without factory reset.

I was greeted with a lovely damn present. Thank you so much Samsung a$$holes.
I couldn't remember if you could wipe dalvik and cache from recovery anymore so I decided to look.
Well before I let go of the buttons the boot menu popped right up. As soon as I released all the buttons it made some kind of selection on it's own.
It came up the the blue Android screen and started saying erasing. I tried to reboot out of it, but it didn't prevent it.
It factory reset.
Funny thing is again I didn't make any selection. Just released the buttons.
And Factory reset was option 2. When I released the buttons it didn't scroll down to 2. It just started doing a factory reset!!!!
Thanks a [email protected]@@@ing lot Samsung! Merry effing Christmas to you too.
Im completely stock and official btw. 7.0 QH4

I can.
You state here you was wanting to go into recovery
"I couldn't remember if you could wipe dalvik and cache from recovery anymore so I decided to look."
Then state here
"Well before I let go of the buttons the boot menu popped right up. As soon as I released all the buttons it made some kind of selection on it's own."
If you would of double checked through a Google search or even asked here you wouldn't have reset.
But since you thought you knew what your doing, then messed up. You gotta have someone to blame right?

CORRECTION:
Recovery Mode: Hold Home, Volume UP and then hold Power (once in menu, Power button selects items in the list)
Download Mode: Hold Home, Volume DOWN and then hold Power
Maintenance Boot Mode: Hold Power and Volume DOWN (once in menu, Home button selects items in the list)
It is widely misunderstood how long you need to hold these buttons. It is not very long at all, so please don't sit there holding them until you see the menu.
With that said, I have no clue how he managed a factory reset. Recovery Menu's wipe options are in the middle of the list and with Maintenance Boot Mode you should not be touching the Home button at all until you are ready to confirm your selection.
Huzzah for necro threads.

It didn't even show that it made a selection. Nothing was highlighted or anything. And I tried getting out of it multiple times to no avail sadly.
That's why I felt like it had been a bug or something.
And that's the first time in years I was still holding the buttons when the menu came up sadly.
Lessen. You can never back up your data enough times. So always do it.
And of course there will always be some wannabe know it all nay saying on anything public.
I was going to clean, post a warning, then reopen this thread.
That will not be the case.
