After upgrade to 6.0.1 the radio has stopped working - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I upgraded my Samsung j7 to Android 6.0.1 today. I admit that the getup is bad. Earlier there was a colourful Samsung logo at startup and now a bland Samsung logo comes. Any way of changing it ? Also the Radio has stopped working. I get message "Unfortunately, Radio has stopped". Can anybody help o restart the radio. Thanks. Dipankar

Thank you. My phone is a dual SIM Samsung SM-700F.
There are 3 reset options - Reset Settings, Reset network settings and Factory Data reset. I did the 'Reset Settings' and nothing much happened. The theme got reset to default. I had to again set Wi-Fi password. The startup logo is as before. Radio is dead. With 5.1.1 I could select the SIM from Pull Down menu option but now it shows only one that is active and to change SIM I have to get into Settings. Do I have to do a Factory Data Reset ?

yes. do a factory data reset and for the "bland samsung logo"that is the new marshmallow boot image if you are not happy with it you can install some other boot image (don't ask me from where).

my phone keeps restarting!

hi,
i am not rooted with stock(one s), and all of a sudden my phone stuck and started restarting itself over and over again.
what should i do ?
i can access the special screen when holding the volume button, but i dont know what to do there.
can someone help me please?
Boot into your recovery and recover an old image or wipe ROM and reinstall. The Boot.img from the previous ROM you were using was probably messed up and this should probably resolve your issue.
Dude he has not rooted how will he recover an old image and flash new ROMs??
Go into bootloader(the special screen u mentioned above) and do a factory reset from there...

i have a crazy problem!
i made already 3-4 factory reset, and after the reset, everything works perfectly until i try do activate or de-activate the wifi. when i click "on" the phone crashes again and goes into restart loop, and in order to stop it i need to do factory reset.
I don't know what to do!!
Now,go into fastboot and flash the kernel(boot.img) and then do a factory reset...this should work...

actually, i just find how to fix this problem.
(i don't know how to flash kernel or stuff like that cause i never did it.)
though i searched the internet and read about the same problem that someone had, and the fix is to cancel the "sync internet" for the google account in "settings -> Accounts and Sync -> Google -> uncheck Sync Internet"
than i can turn on\off WiFi how much i want with no boot loop.
the bad thing is that i needed to do like 4 factory resets until i got it.i think that if it happen that it is possible to clear somehow the storage data via the boot loader and re-configure the google account and imminently uncheck the "sync internet" check-box. and in this case a factory reset is not needed. but it's too late for me
this is the link where i find the solution:

does any one know what this "sync Internet" does in the google account? i
Thanks,

[Q] Help with mobile connection

So earlier today I booted into stock recovery and wiped the cache partition in the hopes that it might get the bugs out and speed my N5 up a bit. Well, while wiping the cache partition the phone frozen. I held the power button to reboot the device. The phone booted up fine, but I've seemed to have lost my carrier settings. I've taken the sim in and out several times and cannot get the device to connect to a mobile network. Carrier settings is not present under settings so I cannot manually update the profile. The phone is stock and running on the Sprint network. Anyone have any ideas how to get this thing working again? Thanks for your help!
Have you tried resetting your APNs back to default as well as setting preferred network to LTE/CDMA?

Depending what ROM you use.. Settings -> Mobile Network or
Settings -> More -> Access Point Names -> Menu -> Reset to default

It's not giving me that option. I'm running stock.

The option is there, you just have to find it under Wireless & Networks. I'm on a custom ROM so it appears in a different part of the menu.
Select Settings.
Select More Settings.
Select Mobile Networks.
Select Access Point Names.

I think thats what he means. "Mobile network" is gone.... Maybe?
Yes that's what i mean. Carrier Settings is missing as an option. I tired to do a factory reset under settings but when I click the button nothing happens. This is very odd.

This happened to me before. I wiped cache, it seemed like it hung up so I rebooted and lost network connectivity. Lucky for me (and you) it's easily fixable. Go back into recovery and wipe cache again. This time let it finish. It might seem like it's stuck but just let it run its course. When it's done, boot it back up and everything should be fine.

Thanks for the message; I wish I would have seen it sooner. I did fix the issue, but in a round about way. I tried to do a factory reset in recovery and the same thing happened it just froze up... or maybe was just was taking a long time. Anyway my impatience lead me to reboot, well that put me into a boot loop. Great... So i decide the only way out of this was to flash a factory image. Upon unlocking the bootloader and rebooting from fastboot all is back to normal. I hadn't planned on rooting my N5, but I'm this far now I might as well do it. Thanks everyone for the insight!

Cant seem to factory reset my e6653 nougat

Hello everyone,im having a huge issue with my device of late. It randomly just freezes up now and then and i have to do a hard reset to switch it off then. Since this has been happening i decided to do a factory reset on my device and start fresh.
Problem with that is that my phone wont let me do a factory reset by going into the settings menu and then selecting backup & reset and then going into the factory reset menu. Once there and i try to tap the reset tab, it does nothing at all. Is there another way that i can reset my device?
If anyone has any suggestions for me,id really appreciate hearing from you. My device is the E6653 and it is not rooted or bootloader unlocked if thats essential.
since factory reset is next to re flashing your device
consider reflashing using FLASHTOOL. ( even when you device has locked bootloader you can still flash untouched rom)
some time back a user having z5p ( device name Satsuki) was asking how to flash so i gave him good short tutorial at
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71394777&postcount=3
the same applies for you too! but select SUMIRE in the list and see your country , select correct build version / download and flash

Hi all!
I have a friend who has an A8 2018. It was sold to him by some guy. And unfortunately he did not check everything. When he got home and about factory reset, he noticed that the factory reset is grayed out.
He tried to enter recovery but it just booted to start the device.
Hope someone can help.

you can either factory reset via stock recovery or flash the stock firmware via Odin then factory reset in stock recovery if the first option doesnt work

PAX A77 - Trying to factory reset / remove third-party launcher

I recenly acquired a PAX A77 point of sale device. After booting, it goes straight to a third-party launcher which password protects the settings menu. I am unable to access any settings and unable to access safe mode.
If I hold the volume up button while powering on, it displays a firmware update screen - but I have no replacement firmware to load onto it.
If I hold the volume down button while powering on, it displays a sick android man and says "no command."
Does anybody know how I can either remove the launcher or perform a factory reset? I just want it to behave like an ordinary android device.
Settings pass: 9876 and confirm on the app, not keyboard?
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it didn't work.
I'm afraid it needs to go home to mfg to be reset. As far as I can make out the only way to reset it is from that settings menu and if the stock pss doesn't work you'll never get into it because it's a payment device..
How do you know that is the stock password?
If I managed to find a replacement firmware, would the password be erased?
No problem. The stock password turned out to be [email protected]@
I've now done a factory reset and it's all good.
