Non-AT&T LG G4 - AT&T LG G4

So I switched recently from T-Mobile to AT&T and kept my T-Mobile LG G4 using it as an unlocked device. Well during the switch the sales rep added what I'm sure he assumes are the correct APN Settings. After he set up the APN, I get a 4g singal but my phone is not receiving data rendering all my data reliant apps useless, which is a major inconvience. Any have any ideas on how to fix this get an lte or data connection running on the phone.
Thanks in Advanced!

[Q] APN Settings for MMS

Seems like every time I flash a ROM, my APN settings won't allow me to send/receive MMS. Does anyone have a setting that works?
My following set up (Which is default):
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: Blank
Port: Blank
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: Blank
MMSC: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: Blank
APN Type: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: IPv4
---------------
I am currently using Ninja ROM, and if you have configured the APN settings to have MMS work, please share the settings.
I have searched everywhere and nothing. Even asked in the Ninja thread, and the only response you get is "Oh, mine works...". That's basically a F U. Not helpful responses.
Thanks.

Not sure if you mistyped something, but the MMSC field is not supposed to read: wireless.cingular.com. Make sure it reads: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Also, your Proxy and Port fields should read:
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
You don't list your MMS proxy field, but it should read: wireless.cingular.com
If the above changes don't fix anything, then let's try breaking out your MMS connection into a separate APN. Use this method (from my APN thread):
Standard warning applies here: as always, before making any major config changes be sure to fully backup your ROM. If you mess up real bad or something goes unexpectedly wrong, then you might permanently lose your connection with no recourse other than a complete restore.
Step 1. Delete all APNs
If you're not already at your APN screen, then from your home screen press Menu button --> Settings --> Wireless and networks --> Mobile networks --> Access Point Names
Press the left side of your 1st APN to go into the settings of this APN, then press Menu>>Delete APN.
Repeat this process for any other APNs you have. The goal is to delete all APNs so we can start from scratch.
Now do the next steps in the same order as below:
Step 2. Create a new APN (Menu>>New APN). Everything is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as below. This will be your 1st APN:
Name: MEdia Net
APN: Phone
MMS protocol (if applicable): WAP 2.0
MCC: (don't change this number)
MNC: (don't change this number)
APN type: default, admin, hipri (notice there is no space on either side of the commas)
APN protocol (if applicable): IPv4
everything else: <Not set>
Press Menu>>Save. You will now be back at the initial APN screen.
Step 3. Create another APN (Menu>>New APN). Everything is case sensitive and must be entered exactly as below. This will be your 2nd APN:
Name: MMS
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
Port: 80
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol (if applicable): WAP 2.0
MCC: (don't change this number)
MNC: (don't change this number)
APN type: mms, supl (notice there is no space on either side of the comma)
APN protocol: IPv4
APN protocol (if applicable): IPv4
everything else: <Not set>
Press Menu>>Save.
You will now be back at the initial APN screen again. Make sure the 1st APN (named MEdia Net) is selected (via the round radio button on the right side). Your data connection will drop for a few seconds.
We are done at this point. Let me know if this works for you. If not, it is probably a software problem in your ROM somewhere.
I've tried this method you've posted. First of all, thank you.
Now, after setting up both APN's, neither seem to work to get MMS to function. I am not sure why.
I will call AT&T next week.

Hmmm, well at least we gave it a shot. The dual APN config should have worked for you, as it's the same as what comes on the stock ROM. I suppose one last thing you could try would be to get your phone back to pure stock and see if MMS works then. This stock RUU is located in this thread. It is an executable file that you run on your PC, and it completely wipes the phone, unroots it and brings it back to factory stock. If that doesn't work, then maybe your account isn't allowing MMS or something. Good luck either way.
I know it would work on stock, and stock rooted. But with any other ROM I flash, MMS won't work.
Again, thanks for your help. Its no deal breaker, just wish it would work.
I had the same problem I had to change the radio/ril back to stock to get it to work

I did that too on Ninja. And since I'm running Ninja ROM on mine, it seems its only able to use Single APN's.
I don't know.

[Q] Please post definitive APNs to force 2G/3G/4G

I have been looking for this info for hours today and can't find a simple response.
I tried the *#*#4636#*#* trick, it doesn't stick.
Can someone post APNs that force 2G, 3G, and 4G non-LTE for the AT&T One X?
Is there a working mod that installs a toggle for this?
4636 trick is working fine for me.. but i'm not in AT&T..i'm using it in india and using cleanrom std.
I'm going to answer one of my own questions here folks, this is the LTE (true 4G) disable.
go to Settings>Mobile Network>Access Point Names
Click the Menu button, and select "New APN"
Enter the following:
Name: Media Net (name doesn't really matter, as long as its different from the original APN)
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not set
Username: [email protected]
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: default, supl, mms (no spaces after each comma)
Bearer: Unspecified
then hit back a few times, you may need to reboot for this to work

Its a known issue and it happens with everyone. Most likely because the LTE radio is still active , it just cant connect because the APN wont authenticate it. We need a true LTE off switch

[Q] LTE and Data random disconnects

I recently flashed to the uclf5 galaxy S3 r4 rom with mohans kernel and I love it. The only problem is the Data connections. The original APN that installed in the flash would connect and had great speeds but would not allow me to send or receive picture messages. Standard text's were ok but no pictures.
I looked around google and the XDA forums and tried a couple of new APN's. I finally got one that would connect and send pictures but it wasn't connecting to 4G LTE only 4G, 1st world problems yes but I wanted the LTE. as I continued searching I managed to get one to connect to LTE and still send pictures and everything was working perfectly, Except now the phone randomly disconnects from all connections with a little circle with a line through it instead of connection bars and obviously no data or phone calls. If I toggle back and forth between APN's I can get it to connect again but it's very intermittent sometimes it'll stay connected for hours other times for just minutes.
I originally had the SKYICS Superlite Rom installed and didn't have any connection issues what so ever and i'm completely at a loss as to what's going on now.

I'm not sure how that last one works but it does.
These settings do work, but again pretty much at will. this morning i woke up and was conected to edge. that was scary...
I'm not sure if its my settings or tge radio or something else entirely. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've been having the same problem. Everything will work for a few seconds then I get a "null cell state delivered" message when I check logcat. Changing APNs didn't work for me but how are you getting to the APN settings? Every time I try I just get a dialog box that tells me to insert a sim card.

Connecting to network problem

I live in Canada and I bought a Sidekick 4g.
I rooted the phone, did the "bml3.bak" unlock method, got the code and re-booted the phone with my bell sim inside but the unlock screen didn't pop up. So then I did the "efs>root>afs>settings>nv_data.bin" but still nothing. I figured if I just delete the nv_data.bin file that it'll come back when I reboot.
So I deleted it, rebooted with bell sim in phone and boom sim unlock screen pops up. I typed in my unlock code and it worked. However when I search for a network and choose bell I get this message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network" The phone always shows about 3 bars of service, but it doesnt work. At this point, I don't know what else to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Bell is a different type of network. I don't believe it will work with the Sidekick.
You likely have to manually set the APNs for Bell in the general settings. I had to do this for WIND.
Press Menu then Settings from the idle mode.
Select Wireless controls.
Select Mobile network settings.
Select Access Point Names.
Press Menu to add a New APN setting.
Fill in the following settings:
Name: Bell
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC : 302
MNC : 610
APN type : <Not set>
Press Menu and Save.
Click Bell to assign the new APN.
Please note that you will have to re-enter the above settings anytime you insert a different SIM card or if you reset to default settings.
Bell is a CDMA network. I don't believe any amount of APN settings will get a non-CDMA phone to connect.

Mobile data not working after factory data reset

I just bought this used skyrocket yesterday. Everything was working fine after I bought it including the 4G mobile data. Today, I called at&t to register the phone on my account and switch my data plan to LTE. They said the phone is clean and made the changes for me. I then decided to perform a factory data reset to get rid of the previous user's stuff. After the reset, everything works EXCEPT mobile data. I've tried everything -- powering the phone off/on, turning packet data off/on, airplane mode off/on, removing/replacing the SIM. I called at&t back and they said the phone is still clean, it's not been reported stolen and it's not blacklisted.
The seller told me he had a custom rom on it at one point, but he restored it to factory condition. I went into recovery mode and it still has the stock recovery so I'm assuming it's not rooted nor does it have a custom rom.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks,
dw
You are gonna need a 4g Sim card. They should've told you that on the phone. Also check that you have data packets enabled
Did you check your APN?
