Are you planning to buy LG V20 - LG V10 General

so LG announced that the V20 is going to be unveiled at 6 September
the title is Play More i think it mean a bigger battery
and there is rumors that it will contain 6 Gb of ram
in my opinon V20 will be a cool phone but i will not buy for my personal reason that there is like 0 developement for The V series and many models that can't be unlocked
So let's discuss if you are planning to buy it or no and why
leaked image today from evleaks if it is true i think the V10 is better looking

I probably won't because I'm kinda disappointed with V10
- The Duraskin is not durable at all, my back cover is already pealed off from 8 different points.
- You make a giant phone but the battery life is mediocre
- You make a "pro" phone without bootloader/root support
- The performance is getting slower and I started to get micro stutters after few months of usage

i hope that LG will learn of their mistakes because it will be a fail after the problems that cause that the LG G5 is not success

I love my V10 and I haven't had it all that long... So it depends on what they do with it.
If they add...
4000mah battery? If it's still removable that would be seriously tempting!
Front facing speakers? More temptation!
If it's a decent improvement in any way I'm going to be very strongly considering using my jump on demand and getting it ASAP.
That's saying a lot for me because it would be the first time I ever didn't keep a phone! I came from my precious beloved Note 2 which I used from release day until last October when I got my V10.
I don't know how people just trade their phones in or sell them.... I'm a hoarder.
But I tell you.... I'm watching for any news and leaks on this thing and I'm obsessed! I hope they don't mess it up.
I gotta say one thing here though... I don't see anyone speculating on this but in the animated announcement where the script says "play more"
Am I the only one who thinks that they way they drew that out looks like someone using a phone with a.... **stylus** wrote it? Why make the point to animate the actual writing out of a word?
Anywho.... That's probably out of the question but it just strikes me that way...
I'm off to refresh my Google search page in hopes of finding new leaks or rumors!

i hope it will be a good phone but a good phone with no developement and locked bootloader is sad
and in the pic i see a book that is folded a bit maybe it is a second screen that can be folded ? nobody knows

I love my V10, much more reliable than any of the Samsungs I had before, up to S5, fast, best looking, best camera, best screen, (had to tone down amoled, wrong colours), nicest launcher, Smart Launcher, etc...
If I had money to spare I could upgrade for the sake of it, but I really dont need :good:

Anyone think this new fingerprint on screen is related to V20 ?

So why did lg remove bootloader
Based off the leak on reddit today im hoping v20 is better than note 5

Well if current info is good i will probably not upgrade. Main new features seem to be the bigger battery and much more powerful chipset inside. Both are important but not really a problem for me in V10. Battery life on my V10 is between 2 and 4 days (most of the time 2 to 3 days) and due to the quick charge i can easily charge my phone for just 1 hour and even minutes of charge give several more hours of usage. About the chipset power - well i do not play heavy games and regarding multimedia (including 4K video) and other heavy load frankly my V10 works very well. Android 6.0 together with the 4GB of ram works really well and i do not have any problems with the software. I also do not need to root my phone so bootloader issue is irrelevant for me. Camera of V10 is one of the best on the smartphone market especially the video. Sound is superb with the hifi DAC (very important for me) and i do not see how V20 will improve on that. For me at least there is no need to upgrade now and i hope to get android 7 for V10 in the autumn and keep using it for at least one more year or even more before i look for new phone.

Funny enough the Nexus 5x is manufactured by lg.
I think the software issues are the fact there hasn't been much of 3rd party development on the phone and that its been a pain to get rooted.
I would upgrade to the v20 if they allowed more customized usage of the second screen, improved battery life (amoled screen please?) and added a stylus (I think the v series would make a good stylus model and would further differentiate from its g series brother).
Otherwise I will probably upgrade to the note 7 or wait for the 8 to come out. I kind of miss the stylus from the note series.

My first real smartphone was a Galaxy S2, after that I had an HTC Butterfly which at the time was the first 5 Inch phone. Then I bought a Note 3 and now I have the V10. To be honest I am not a freak and high demanding but for me there is not so much difference between the HTC the Note 3 or this phone other then a better camera and some features like fingerprint scanner and dual screen etc. This phones integrated DAC pulled me over to buy it. I have been reading about the V20, can't find a good reason for an upgrade. Bought a second battery and a dock on ebay for under 20 Dollar so the thing what I experienced as **** has been resolved. So no!

From the videos of lg v20 on lgusa instagram.,i think the button at side of phone for camera shutter and/not for modular..may be it will have double usage

Exactly Spot On!
Battery life was horrible enough to live with, also performance getting slower and getting micro/lag stutters (Nova Prime helps a bit). My Sony Xperia Z3 Dual SIM was already razor fast and they made even faster with last few updates. It had a slow camera which Sony fixed.
LG has the better cameras but the app launch and switching between modes is painful. I literally keep it 100% charged. Wife has an LG G4, similar slowness.
The performance slowdown was the final straw, will switch to Note 7 Dual SIM by next Jan.

Performance slowdown, do you have the same phone as me

Tell my why I shouldn't return my One M9 for an S6

I've had my HTC One M9 for 2 days now, and I'm starting to see things that are disappointing to me. Especially for such a high end, pricey device. Battery life is not very good at all compared to my old LG G2. And it takes forever to charge. The camera is, for lack of a better word, horrible.
I'm trying to decide if I should return it to T-Mobile in exchange for a Galaxy S6. All the reviews I've read and watched lean toward the S6.
Tell me why or why not?
...You came to the S6 forum to ask fans of the device to talk you into NOT getting it?
Seriously? -_-
Nah, this is definitely an April Fool's post.
I was torn between the m9 and s6..after watching the keynote and seeing hands on videos, I quickly decided on the s6. I'm glad I did. Pictures look better than my g2 (the phone I came from). The screen crispness, colors and brightness is superb! Didn't mind not having micro SD or removable battery since I didn't have it before.
The only thing I find weird to adjust is that whites seem to have a yellow tint, where as on my g2 they were more blue or white (in my opinion).
The front facing camera is really nice quality too.
S6,higher res screen in a slightly bigger screen size. The size of s6 is smaller and lighter than the m9.

Well... the only cons are the same cons that every review mentions. Lack of SD card slot and price. Also the speaker quality is obviously lesser on the S6 if that matters to you.
The only other consideration is how much you care about rooting/unlocking/custom ROM support, which will certainly be stronger on the M9 just because it's a Snapdragon device. At least that's how it'll be initially.
Other than those, the M9 loses in every other measurable area.
So really the M9 Vs. S6 issue comes down to how much the price difference matters, how much you care about "3rd party" support, and whether or not you need a SD card slot.
Edit: Suppose the M9 warranty program is worth considering as well.

We'll, my G2 was running aicp 5.0.2 with custom rom which I could easily go 24hrs and be fine.
So far my s6 has slightly less battery life. But i can quickly go from 15% to 100% in an hour. Balances out. I'm using the s6 a lot to get things setup and such, so not quite a fair comparison. Letting the battery settle in for a week.
I do see a speed difference between my g2 and the s6 though
I'm even kinda been on the fence to keep my G2 and hold out what's to come in the fall, but that is very unlikely for me to do.

The s6 is faster, or the g2? Same here with waiting. I wanted to wait for the g4, but with T-Mobile's jump, I'm able to upgrade every 6 months. So, no biggie if I wanna go back to LG at the end of the year.

I haven't gotten the S6 yet since I'll have to wait until April 10th, and I'm also coming from a G2.
The S6 will definitely be faster- even though I really do enjoy my G2.
All the Bestbuy locations have the S6/Edge on display. I suggest you check them out in person.
If you are coming here to ask you have already made your decision. To be honest if you are interested in a G4 id wait until its announced and compare that to the S6 then get a device.
I'll tell you why you SHOULD return your One M9. The S6 is by far the biggest leap I've ever seen in a phone, and I've had every major LG/HTC/Samsung phone from the past 3 years lol.
It truly is a home run.
Keep m9 for a bit longer to see if anything changes in terms of camera and battery performance. I think a person should keep a phone for a least two weeks to get a good impression. Also go on HTC thread to see camera tricks. I'm getting m9 tomorrow and I will see if it will meet my great expectations as I'm coming from a phone that's three years old.
I would only buy s6 if camera was the main thing but for me it isn't and the negatives of the s6 outweigh my liking for the device. The soc difference isn't big in reality and I think they both have inconsistent battery reviews from people, so they are similarly disappointing. Design and ui are a personal opinion but I think m9 is better.
Go with whatever you like tbh and I hope whichever phone you choose you have a great experience

Only Gripe? Having a camera THAT bad is a HUGE fail on HTC's part, when the biggest weakness they've had since the M7 fiasco was their camera
All they had to do to save their company was fix their camera and put a 2K screen in their new flagship.
Instead, they did neither. I predict either a buyout from Samsung to grab patents or HTC simply going out of business in a year.

Screen is a moot point no real difference with 1080p its just a numbers game tbh. iPhone 6 has a lower resolution screen and funnily enough it also looks fine.
Thank god they didn't put a 2k display and the camera isn't an epic fail. They haven't pushed the sensor to what it is capable of. Also manual control says a different story. I doubt they are going bust this year and I think they would rather die then sell themselves to Samsung. I do hope they do get bought by another respectable company so they can be in a better position. They just need more money in R&D and marketing.

Really Loving my Lg V10

I decided to make this thread for myself and others to express the reasons we love our V10. I see so many threads about people's dislikes and would hate for that to negatively impact potential buyers of this great device.
A few reasons I love my v10 are:
SD CARD: #1 reason explains itself
REMOVABLE BATTERY: #2 could of easily been #1 reason
SECOND SCREEN(NOT GIMMICK):truly convenient makes multitasking a bit more easy
AUDIO DAC: with the right headphones it's a night and day difference
MANUAL CAMERA: like a baby DSLR
VIDEO CAMERA: great quality and mic balance
LG OVERLAY NOT TOO HEAVY: personal opinion
BUTTON PLACEMENT: AGAIN PERSONAL OPINION
RUGGED FORM FACTOR: pretty tuff since I mostly use with no case
BUILD FEEL IN HAND: my opinion but feels premium
What are the reasons you LIKE/LOVE LG V10
BeameD From My LG V10... The one with the ALWAYS ON SCREEN... Watching me.. ?
Number reason I love this phone is that I can turn on gps, nfc, Bluetooth and use this phone heavily (youtube, movies, gaming) all day long and not worry about charging it multiple times, since I got an extra battery with me 24/7.. This is such a convenient for a power user like me..
The rest off The points you stated are all also reasons to love this phone too.

Can't wait for the release here in europe!
I am another v10 user coming from a sgs5 this phone is way better.
I like the positivity of this thread as much as I like the positive experience the new LG V10 has given me.
We need not vigorously defend the V10 when it comes under attack. The endless and ... (sorry if this hurts) ... pointless volley of posts with "haters" of the V10 in defense of our phones as it doesn't do anything but give page depth (negative gravity) to negative threads. Wish them a positive experience with their new choice and abandon the thread.
The phones at this level are all pretty good, with the differences being slight at best. The user experience is as personal as a first date, they don't all work out and we're allowed to move on to another in hopes of a positive relationship that lasts. I spun through 2 new phones within 3 weeks until I found this one.
Its perfect ... for me.
I'm all for being positive about this phone but at the same time I'm not delusional. It's obvious this phone has its flaws but the pros outweighs the cons.

Why? I'm not trying to start an argument, but I haven't owned a Samsung in ages. I know a lot of people who left the Note series and move on to other devices. I tried the Note 5 but when my wife bought the V10 I quickly fell in love with the Ability to make good recordings of live bands, and the DAC is freaking awesome! I no longer carry around my other Audio device.
Using Neutron, with DAC configured correctly is a new experience in Audio and the fv5 camera and video recorder is by far the BEST I've ever seen! I've used the Samsung Galaxy series of friends who asked me to take pics of bands or for me to take pics of audience when my band was playing. I recently dropped it on the street in no case and it was fine.
The battery isn't as good as my LG G3 or my brothers G4... But I have an Extra battery and 128 gig micro SD card... So I guess my question is what am I missing about the Note 5? I prefer the 808 because it stays cooler... So what did I miss?
I'm really sorry if this sounds like I'm trying to start a debate. I honestly don't know.
So some like it, huh. Trying to keep my S4 until August when I get Verizon Upgrade (apparently prior 2 year contract and loyalty plan holders still get subsidized phones every 2 years, for now).
Frustrating bec the Note 5 or Nexus 6P have much of what I want, but lack of removable battery is a dealbreaker, my S4 battery was completely shot after 12 months but a few new $7 oem's in my bag and it's fine. So much easier than fiddling with portable chargers and cables.
So, LG seems to be the only option for 2016, V10 or G5 if it retains the removable battery.... Sigh...
I love my v10. I was worried about the battery at first, but now after having it since launch, I usually go to bed with 30% left. Not sure why it got so much better, but it did. I went to bed at 41%last night and woke up with it at 37%.that's with the second screen always on. The camera is outstanding and no lag ever. The removable battery and sd are a must have for me. This phone never even gets warm. My galaxy grand prime with the lowly sd 410 gets warmer than my v10. I hope LG keeps this formula!

I loved my Flex but it didn't have stabilization for the camera.
So I tried out BlackBerry Passport. Good phone, but it was a down grade when compared to Flex in real world use.
Picked up the V10 on a whim and..........jaw dropping user experience.
The battery could be a 3400 ma, but I make the 3000 ma work.
Loving this phone too - I finally got on T-Mobile Jump On Demand, but I'm not sure I'll want to trade this thing in ever!
Killer battery life, a removable back (and the goodness that comes with it), great display, quick, 2nd screen,... What's not to love.

I completely agree with your list with a MAJOR exception on ruggedness. I just paid $150 to have the phone replaced under insurance. I cracked the screen on the very first drop from barely a foot onto my coffee table. DO NOT USE THIS PHONE WITHOUT A CASE. If you crack the screen the entire warranty is null and void...you're on your own if anything malfunctions later. YOU MUST HAVE INSURANCE if you plan to go without a case. Also, my first two LG V10's were duds -- a first for any smartphone company. The first one had non-working speaker, back to the Verizon store and with my schedule that's tough. The second phone had a non-working front facing camera, back to the Verizon store yet again but this time with the added hassle of the store not wanting to take my phone since they have to give you a new one. I went to three separate stores and each changed their stories about having the phone in stock only to have none once I told them it was an exchange and not a new line activation. Four days after getting the third phone the screen cracks and LG says they'll do nothing for me other than take the phone and look it over for a couple of weeks and that's just for the estimate which was probably going to be $200 despite their marketing the phone as being able to survive a four foot drop face down. So far I'm not impressed with LG's quality control or marketing claims. I dropped my Samsung Note 3 with only a bumper guard too many times to count and the screen never cracked, probably because it wasn't half a pound like the V10. The more a phone weighs, the harder it's going to impact. The Note 3 and 4 feel like half the weight of the V10 in hand. I'm not sure I will repeat with LG after the V10 given the experience of this first week of ownership.
That being said, when the phone actually arrives working, it is the best value going. I was on the fence about buying a Note 4 instead of the V10 to save money and get most of the features of the V10. But LG's very aggressive promotion convinced me to skip the Note 4 since the Samsung is still expensive for a year old phone. The biggest thing I don't like about the V10 right now is the all the weight of the steel rails which I now discovered are basically useless if you still have to have a case and the glass is not replaceable (the whole digitzer has to be replaced). And of course the Note 4 has AMOLED so that wins the battery life contest every day of the week. I would give the LG a C+ on battery life but mostly because the battery is replaceable. If were fixed with this kind of SOT I would give it a D. But you're not buying this phone if you're not a battery swapper in the first place.
So all in I give this phone a solid B, an honorary value award for keeping SD card and removable battery,
I give LG an F on quality control and F on marketing claims.
I'm loving my V10 today! Today it's a great mobile Yule Log! Merry Christmas everyone!
New LG V10 Owner
Got my LG V10 yesterday, after realizing that the S7 and G5 look too rounded and girlish. The black V10 is a real man-phone!
After coming from an HTC M8, this is the best phone I've ever owned. Speed, battery life, display, camera, everything is awesome.
But the most unnoticed feature of this phone is the superior sound. Remember when everybody said the HTC M8 is a phone with superior sound output for audiophiles? Well, the V10 is 10 times better. I'm using it with a Sennheiser Momentum and it hits the ball out of the park.
Also this phone comes with 64gb of internal storage. My model supports dual-sim, and it's not like the S7 where you can either use 2 sim cards or 1 sim card and 1 sd card. Let's get to the only downside I've noticed so far: The phone is really heavy. But it feels like a premium phone, more than the HTC M8.

Goodbye V10 Hello V20

As the Release of V20 will soon be upon us we reflect back on the failures and success of the V10. Me as a person who waited to get the V10 until it was rooted was very excited for this phone,I was happy with all the specs that it had and the design that had a commanding look but that didn't come without issue also. The fingerprint reader had issue not able to read with a case on it,fake second screen bleed issues. wi-fi is slow or dropping out, data and call issues and last be not least screen retention issues. luckily the phone didn't suffer issues from the G4 which had the death reboot which had the same 808 SD. I have done one replacement and that is because of the calls ,data and screen issues was getting worse which I couldn't take, Since the new one came in I've had little issues with it. thank god
Now with the V20 coming right around the block and after watching the press release I'm very interested to see how this V20 holds up. The looks of the phone could be more desirable but its not bad on the eyes especially with the colors that are being released Titan (very dark grey), Pink, and Silver. People will definitely ask what phone is that( The New Iphone) LOL . The specs are on point with this year flagships 5.7in screen 2k screen , 820SD,4GB ram,64 OBS, 3200mAh battery nothing to brag about and android 7.0 out of the box big plus for them. This phone brings a similar rear camera look and function of the G5 but with improvements of presentation and software which I like, they removed the rear buttons which is kinda a disappointment that they took there LG look away that separated from the rest now it looks like every other phone. In the end this is phone is upgrade worthy and I will most surely deserve a look. With other flagships phone coming out the V20 may have some tough competition only time will time.
Now I wanted write a full blow article but i wanted to keep in short and sweet and also see how well I can put this together seeing it as my first . I hope this small review helps.
Peace
I want to buy lg
01. I never get afraid again lg phone to receive :silly:
02. No support
03. never good option for root
04. power consumption sucks
I have been thinking of getting the 20 also. I have to say my 10 has been a great phone. I am worried about getting root.
I am seriously considering the v20!
Sent from my awesome T-Mobile LG V10!
If you find yourself on XDA frequently this may not be the ideal device to upgrade to. Just my opinion.

while it looks great, it honestly isn't enough for me to make the jump. The SD820 is nice, and the DAC is probably a good upgrade, but i just cant see making the jump...
I'm getting the v20. It satisfies all the hardware requirements that I am still clinging to (removable battery, memory expansion, great camera). I'm hoping this upgrade solves the issues I had with the v10 (poor power consumption, crappy speaker quality, weak bluetooth). But I will hope and pray that it gets root, but I'm ok with waiting for that. If I need rooted capabilities, I can go back to one of my old nexus devices.
As it stands, the V20 is a great upgrade for me.
$700 is a lot to just upgrade from the 808 to the 820. Not sure about gamers but i have yet to do anything on my phone that the 808 wasn't able to handle.
That b&o earphone is nice but would be more practical just to buy it lol.
My thoughts are it might be worth it. Couple things I'm weighing:
1. Is 2nd screen a true 2nd screen?
2. The audio improvements only seem to apply to wired headphones?
3. Android 7! Yes!
All else seems equal and I do like the rooted V10

Just going by how much the v10 cost.
It's worth it if you're coming from another phone. But not coming from the v10.

I'm looking at my receipt right now. 629.99 with tax came to 685.11.
They charge prepaid more to buy it outright.

Okay that would make sense for the high price.
So let me ask you this. What do you think it is worth with these upgrades?
820SD
upgraded camera software for stills and videos
upgraded audio 4 24bit DACs
update modem
I'm tired of the v10.. Getting the v20 no doubt..
With all the hype it's getting, I think the V20 will have a bigger development community. I'm a long time Nexus user and Samsung dev and I'm jumping over to the V20 side of the fence. Grass looks greener there than the Google Pixel side of the fence.

I enjoy my v10 but lack of development & some small issues make me want to upgrade. I am still considering the Note 7.
I love the flagship LG phones but fact is they are becoming more and more locked down and when root finally does come out a new version of android comes out then we have to wait another 3-5 months for a root for that version to come out. This fact that the bootloaders and everything else is so tightly locked down now makes developers shy away from the device which in turn slows down the rooting/unlocking process even further. I think buying the v20 or future LG flagship devices means you accepting that there will be little to no development for it.
In a nutshell.... Before buying flagship LG phones (as awesome as they are), the main question you should be asking yourself is are you comfortable with using it as is out of the box until you get your next phone. I'm a root junkie and always trying to squeeze as much performance and battery life out of my devices as possible so as awesome as it is I'm prob going to team nexus once my v10 goes up the river.
I was gung ho for the upgraded dac, but this time I am waiting it out;
-LG took too long to actually release the phone.
-LG did not upgrade the screen quality, my phone has SERIOUS image ghosting. Basically you can not run this device on full bright (my choice, not everyone), without damaging the screen and the warranty sucks.
-LG did not really offer enough difference vs every other device that has been out for months. Why not add use the 821 or the 823, so the device has some long term life.
-LG seems to have locked the devices down, such that developers don't even care about this device. If you can't root an android device, their is NO BENEFIT over the latest Iphone 7.
It does not appear that LG is going to match the Samsung 256mb sd card freebie, so considering the amazing price drop of the V10 (the phone is only worth $200ish resale and its not even 1yr old), I am going to wait until the resale price drops in a few months, and I certainly won't buy one at $700+ with no ability to root the device.

Realistic options for a replacement to the Moto X Pure

So I am getting sick of the battery life of this device and charging twice a day just to get by... the QC helps but it isn't always a viable option for someone who is on the road/travels a lot. I am probably going to go back to my Moto G 2015 for the time being as I could get a full days use most of the time on a single charge and just selling my MXPE.
But now the question comes up as what to replace it with... Moto G 5th gen, Blu Pure XR, ZTE Axon 7 Mini, or ???
My requirements are simple, or so I think...
1) 4+ hours SOT, preferably 5+, in mixed signal environment of WiFi/LTE/3G and sometimes without the best signal strength (for reference, I currently get about 2.5 hours on MXPE)
2) 5.2"-5.7" screen with 1080p minimum resolution
3) Stock Android, "near" stock, or simple UI (no TouchWiz, EMUI, ZenUI, or other bloated UI) that allows easy use of replacement launcher
4) 64GB internal storage or 32GB internal+microSD
5) 3GB or more of RAM
6) Full AT&T network compatibility (GSM 850/1900 and LTE Band 2/4/5/12/17 and optionally 29/30)
7) Nougat or Marshmallow with a Nougat upgrade "guaranteed"
8) 3.5mm headphone jack
9) Dual band WiFi - 2.4 & 5Ghz
10) $300USD or less
Would be nice, but not essential...
1) Unlockable bootloader (implies root/custom recovery/ROM development community)
2) Front facing speakers
3) NFC
4) USB 3.0
Absolute no no's are Samsung, Asus, or Huawei/Honor devices.
What else fits these requirements that I am not considering?
I believe the one phone that comes to mind that would fit most of your requirements is the Axon. I took a break from the MXPE (when it flew off my roof and died a horrible death in a rain storm) and had the Axon 7 (normal size) for about a month. You will get NEAR 4 hours of SoT, a qhd screen, 5.5 inches, relatively light for metal body. Unlockable bootloader and decent dev for it, last I checked. Things that bothered me/ pissed me off were that DTTW was laggy and slow, the actual cell service seemed to be really bad, possibly because of the full metal body phone, and the biggest annoyance - no backlit capacitive buttons, so you were left sort of blind in the dark trying to hit buttons. There is also no way through the build.prop to enable the on-screen buttons to bypass the issue at night, last I checked.
LG V20 could be an option too since it has a bootloader unlock now, 3.5-4.5 hours of SoT. I think it has a bottom bezel speaker though, which is a little weird, and as always the LG software has complaints. The dev is good enough to get around that though.
I'm in the same boat as you though. I've been looking pretty hard to find a new phone and the V20 is the only one I am really considering right now.

Would love to... tell me where I can get a new OP3T for under $300... That one is a hard stop requirement.
@xgerryx Same for LG V20 and Axon 7 (which never goes on sale, although the Mini does often), the $300 price point is a big deal
This phone has been a little disappointing. It's good, but definitely not great. It's a night and day difference from the Galaxy S3 I was using, but I wish I had held out a little longer for the SD 820 phones instead of buying in 2015.
It sounds like you've already got a pretty inclusive list for phones that are sold in the US and meet your requirements.
I just checked swappa, and if you're willing to go used, the OnePlus 3 is starting to get down towards the price point you're looking for. It has the same size battery as the MXP, and between the more efficient SoC than this godawful 808/810 generation and an FHD AMOLED I'd think you should get better screen on time out of it. It's a OnePlus so it has loads of good development, so you'll have all kinds of kernel/rom/tweaking available to really squeeze every erg out of it.

I'm not really interested... TBH, my experience with non-Nexus LG Android devices has been... well... lets just say less then wonderful.
Although I would have to say that the LG enV from years ago probably ranks up there as my favorite phone of all time, back when you could actually get DAYS of usage out of a cell phone on a single charge. I remember I would charge it twice a week. lol

Yea I agree. After my terrible experience with the buggy LG G4, I'm very skeptical about going back again. At the same time I am running out of companies to try out! Haha. Gotta circle back eventually, especially on Verizon.

NEVER AGAIN!!! I refuse to drop $140 plus taxes and fees (realistically $160) for the service level I get now for $72 per month. Plus the limitations on devices, I would have to buy at least one new phone and/or go under contract. Nope, not happening. (Can you tell I have a grudge against Verizon, lol)
I would look around swappa for a OnePlus 3 or 3t it's worth it no bugs lag free and monthly updates it's already on nougat 7.1.1 and the beta builds they offer are great as well and development is great lots of greats ROMs and kernels and unlocking bootloader will not void warranty
TBH...I think you will have a hard time meeting all of your requirements right now. The market looks pretty dismal which is very unfortunate. I personally will hold out a little longer. I'm really looking hard at what Nokia/HMD are coming up with and hoping their roadmap for US devices includes a mid range device soon. So far their line up seems decent and if they are true to their word about expedient updates for Android, and they will sell devices with unlockable bootloaders at decent prices, I'll be sold.

Like @acejavelin stated, Samsung is not an option, and I agree with him. Yes they have great hardware for the most part, but a less powerful processor running vanilla, our near vanilla Android will run just as well considering the lack of heavy handed UX. I will admit the phone looks great hardware and looks wise, but I personally don't like the look and feel of Samsung TW.

Sammie's are to bloated... Every Samsung devices we have ever had has been problematic... Hope you enjoy yours though but I would never spend that kind of money on a phone.
I have a moto g5 plus as well, its pretty good. It's fast and smooth. Screen and camera are good too, but obviously not as good as the X style.
Yes mxpe battery sucks. I have to charge 2-3 times a day and am not even a heavy user. I know its more than your actual budget but better wait, save a bit more and probably the price will drop also and go for a OP 3T.
i know your problem man.. but why don't you wait for a nougat update?? why not? maybe they might fix up the battery drain issue!
there are barely very less phones which have dual front facing speakers.. market has got very saturated.. all look for flagship but they just don't think that having a good speakers is also a part of flagship project!
as per my personal opinion... this phone is just the best phone ive ever used (till 2015) but in upcoming era you will see more and more features
i will recommend you to wait and not hurry up to get a phone...
if you need a pure stock surely get nexus but just wait for new nexus phone.. maybe they might consider it as a flagship and the value might be cheap??
anyways if you're just asking for all the requirements my opinion (AXON 7) not just only for dual front facing speakers but also for the processor(sd 820),storage(64gb,6gb ram) expandable ovbio (256gb)
plot twist: has hybrid sim XD
but im legit that it'll be upgraded to android 'O'
but it cost around $350
think man.. public reviews are also good
it meets all the requirements but is as costly as mxpe

Nougat can't "fix" our battery issue... Radio and display panel are hardware issues and that's where 75% of all battery drain is. It isn't even issues, it's just how much power they use normally. The SD808's radios are terribly inefficient, and the display panel uses more power than some small towns. If you think Nougat is going to noticably improve active use time, your kidding yourself.
To be honest, I might just pull my old Nexus 5 out if the drawer and switch to it... The battery life can't be much worse.
The sound aspect is less important. FF speakers are nice, but as long as I can hear a YouTube video in an average room and turn the ringer up enough u don't care.
I bought the MXPE as an upgrade to my G 2015 and it was on sale for under $250, and for the most part it is, I just didn't realize how bad the battery was, it is easily half of my G.
I got Axon 7 after X and can't be happier. I've had the A7 since August. Has the front speakers i wanted, nice beautiful Samsung screen. Battery is definitely better then X. Software was buggy at the beginning but they have improved it a lot. Axon 7 has been getting a lot of updates, doesn't mean it'll continue, we were the 1st ones to receive 7.0 with the exception of Google devices, and we are the only ones so far (afaik) to receive 7.1.1 with also the exception of Google devices.
It has its flaws but i love the phone. For the money you can't beat it. It's on sale now on newegg for $330.

Well, I'm coming from a G4 and even though I miss a bit the LG UI I can't say the OP6 isn't a good phone. It's a beast, RAM keeps apps open for so long that you will even forget that you opened them recently. Front camera is a huge step forward, massive dynamic range and colours very close to the real. The rear camera is ok but the difference between the two is almost non existent. I'm guessing it's because of the OnePlus camera software that doesn't make the camera work at its best. The autofocus is nowhere near as precise as the G4 was, there is visible post processing noise in night photos and those tend to get a bit on the reddish side. However, the flash is bright as hell and the light balance is perfect. Something I loved to do with the G4 was shooting long exposure photos at night. With this phone the job becomes a tad harder, mostly due to the crappy autofocus. When you manage to get a stable picture with no motion noise and balanced focus the result is pretty amazing. I would say the step up isn't worth it if you have a G6, hold on for another year or wait for the next V series LG phone.

Take in count that I've decided to switch the G6 afte more than a year because of the crappy battery life (I mostly use the phone under mobile network) and the more crappy reception, add to this the lack of development and updates from LG and the fact that, apart from the second camera, the main camera got worse than G5 and G4 for no reasons. This is why I'll never buy another LG, and why I've decided to switch on OP6

Alright, understandable.
I had an overall positive experience with LG (my G4 died of saltwater damage -at the beach my umbrella flew off in the sea with the phone attached to it-) so I'm sorry for you.
Don't take my review as gold plated though, I got my OP6 just yesterday so mine is a 24 hours first impression review. The OP6 is a great step up in terms of battery life, I used it quite heavily (constant social networking multitasking, high camera usage, chatting on WhatsApp, Telegram and Discord -no games or video recording tho-) and it covered a full day of usage no problem. Also it charges so damn fast that I'm not even charging it overnight anymore, it will just disrupt the battery's lifespan. Reception is amazing, at the moment I'm at my holiday home near the sea in southern Italy, my mom's iPhone 7 for comparison rarely gets in 4G and tends to lose signal standing very near to the sea while the OP6 is always in 4G if not 4G+ occasionally. You get used to gestures quite easily, just the recent apps tab takes a little more to get used to. Also the phone comes with a dark greyish clear cover with smoked sides and a flawless installed glass screen protector (that tends to hold fingerprints tho). No earbuds are included. Audio quality is very loud but not the clearest sound you'll ever hear. Call quality is just fine to me. In-ear volume with earbuds seems quite low but I guess it's just the crappy headphones I'm using ATM, also if I won't be satisfied in the future I'm going to install ViPER4Android and some other audio mods as I did on the G4.

You're welcome, if you have anymore questions I'll try to answer at my best
I'm a former G3 / G4 and G6 user. I switched to OP6 at day one. For me, the G6 seems a device that is years old and although It has an SD821, it turns out to have a slower and more heavy UI than my Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
All this without considering the lack of sofware support. So I will never buy an LG smartphone again. Bye bye LG!
I'm coming from a G3 running Fulmics ROM (basically made the phone into a G5 software + root) and the OP6 is miles faster in every way. Spec wise it beats the G6 as well, although it is a HUGE phone imo.
Camera isn't the best, and there are some who do not like the display or OOS, but I can live with all of it. My G3 died (kinda sorta) and I had to get a new device. This is one of the very few out there that you can modify without going through big hoops and it won't break the bank. I'm not writing off LG, but based on how the US unlocked G7 has still not received bootloader unlock, I'm not holding my breath that any LG product in the US will ever get it again. LG really screwed over the dev community past the G4. If they were smart, they'd go the route of HTC and allow people to buy the phone directly and fully unlocked. Oh well.

LG is continuously making wrong and stupid decisions based on nothing, well, they'll keep going without me LOL.
I recently heard of the V35S arrival
And OF COURSE IT WONT BE SOLD IN EUROPE
What's the point of it? I don't understand!
The V30 for me was the perfect phone, only reason I discarded it was the front camera.
AND NOW THAT THEY UPGRADED IT OF COURSE ITS NOT COMING TO EUROPE
I won't change my phone till I finish high school (3 more grades to go, so 3 years) so this is something I shouldn't really bother about as my OP6 is brand new and I'm getting more and more satisfied with it, but I'm almost giving away all the trust in LG.
The features they pack (flat display on G6, wide angle, quality DAC and stereo audio on G7) are really all I wish on a phone, but the marketing decisions they make are absolute crap.

Yeah, thought the same, I'm with LG since G2 and it's time to change, and never come back
LG is continuously making wrong and stupid decisions based on nothing, well, they'll keep going without me LOL.

You're european? If yes, could you test with a GPS Test app if Galileo is supported from Op6? Thanks
PS: Nothing new for LG, ****ty choices for a ****ty OEM

I downloaded this app, GPS test, probably the very first on the search list in the play store.
Here it seems that Galileo is supported because my device is marked with a pentagon
Roaming around Reddit seems that Galileo support has already started from the OP5T
I'm not into GPS devices, what benefits do I get from having Galileo support?

It's more accurate afaik, with a 20cm of error, don't know if there are other advantages

Well then I wouldn't really mind his lack anyways.
I mean, to reach the post office that had my OP6 package I used my dad's Samsung Galaxy J5 2015 and the GPS worked like a charm. The output lag was noticeable only at very high speeds (over 100 km/h).
Yes! Seriously disappointed in the g6 although I'm probably switching to the 6T as being 15 makes getting money a little more difficult due to only working on weekends but the GYM gave me horrible battery life at about 4 hours SoT on average or worse.
Also noticed some burn in on my G6 which is very disappointing. Hopefully the 6T can last me at least 2 years until Uni as I really can't afford to pay any more money towards a phone.

Waiting for the next OnePlus phone doesn't make much sense as they come out every 6 months and there's still about 4 months more to wait. This one has everything you need (I'm 16 as well and I'm in your same situation), don't expect the camera modules or the design to develop any further for now because the sensors on the OP6 are already a step up from the past two generations. All you can hope for imo is the useless wireless charging, some fancy new colorway and if you're lucky better audio quality (the bottom speaker remained unchanged from the OP5) . Also it will cost more as well, personally I wouldn't pay 600+ € for a OnePlus phone.

All the OP6 needs is a camera software update (this one doesn't really make the sensors shine as they could) and some audio fixes that you can already get through modding. Nothing else imo.

I was following your same way of thinking from the OP5 (at the time I didn't had to change my phone though) and I insta discarded both the OP5 and the OP5T just for the OIS lack. As far as I saw that the OP6 had it I already knew I was going to get it.

I mean honestly that's all I need, currently don't have enough money to buy the op6 but I will for the op6t and I just want the newest rendition.
