Backup Sony stuck at 50%.
Hi, whenever I try to do the backup with the app "backup and restore" the sony, I get stuck at 50%.
I tried it with an empty extSD, with several rom Deodexed (linuxRom, Slimm, MKXM2), I tried restoring from Xperia Companion, but nothing, always stops at 50%.
Also I can not even do the restore from the backup that I have already: it from that of sd and even from the one online.
Does anybody know what can I do?

Gladly, I stumbled upon a solution, well one that worked for me anyway.
What I had found is that my backup would stall at 50% complete.
While the backup was still running, I opened the 'Storage' tab in settings and noticed that the
'Internal Storage' was maxed out and the text was red in colour.
It seems that the backup software creates the backup file in internal storage before sending it to
SD card or Google Account online (depending on which one you selected before hand).
If there isn't enough space in your internal storage for this backup file the backup software will stall
at 50% and just sit there waiting for extra storage, which obviously, is never going to arrive.
What I did was to reboot the phone, open internal storage in settings, select apps, then sort the apps
by file size, so that the largest ones were at the top. Then open each app and 'clear data' for each of
them until there was about 3GB of free space reported in the 'Internal Storage' tab.
Then I ran the backup program as before and this time it completed successfully.
I hope this helps. :0)

Hello.
I have Xperia x8.
I really wanted apps2sd program because phone memory was to small for all apps I downloaded from the market. So I found a tutorial for it (the one for xperia x10 with 60 pages). So the first step was to make some partisions so I downloaded the program MiniTool Partition Wizard. Before deleting the SD disk, I made 2 backups in program "Backup and Restore".
So afted deleting it and making 2 partitions, I wanted to restore my files but when i opened "Restoring" section NOTHING was there!
Down there it says that the last backup was made 2011-11-12 ... Still nothing's there... Now I have no songs anymore, no photos that were important for me, no videos... NOTHING... And when I open "Card" disk when my phone is conected with USB on the computer it's empty, so I even can't install that apps2sd program.
HELP!!!

So, I rooted my new S3 today and was seemingly successful.
Now, I want to restore all of the applications that were on my Droid 2 (SD card is transferred into my S3).
When I connect the phone to my PC and look at the SD contents, I see all of my old apps and data.
However, when it's disconnected and I open Root Explorer or attempt to restore with Titanium Backup, all of the folders appear blank. I mean ALL of them. Music, DCIM, Tit Back ... seems to think there's nothing in anything.
Can someone clue me in?

In TiBU hit menu, select preferences, and there will be an option to select backup folder location. Then hit detect, and choose "whole device". It will find your backup folder. when it does, select the folder, and then hit use current folder.
... and there we go.
Thank you!
Same but bigger problem
I thought the same issue here, when I clicked on the scenario calculations tick, all the figures were 0.. then i did as per what u said, still same problem.. i even installed superuser again.. pls help..
*SORRY PROBLEM SOLVED! FILTER ISSUE* my bad...
I've had it for ages now without any problems whatsoever.
But last night something happened that i cant rightly explain!
I un-installed a useless notpad app, that i recently installed, and after that ALL apps in TBP shows with a warning triangle, even if i do a full backup it just shows the triangle and i cant restore ANYTHING..
It says it got the app and data, but i cant do ANYTHING with it.
I even reinstalled the whole ROM, TWICE without any change in how TBP is dealing with programs..
Complete format of SD card, exct..
Still it REFUSES to let me restore my apps..
Even if do a full backup, followed by trying to restore, it says i have zero apps to restore..

That sounds like a likely possibility. Maybe try a new backup and see if you can restore that? If that works, it would tell you that the original backup somehow got corrupted.
Ok, figured out what was the problem but damn it was annoying.
Under "Filter by platform"
Check EVERY single box EVEN those who where "empty" and presto, backups worked again.
Dunno why default download of the app set it to a few select options.
Seems dumb to me.
SOLVED - I just reinstalled all the APK, automatically linking them on the SD card. The data was still on the EXT4 partition, so everything was found by the apps.
--------------
Hi,
Link2SD was working really nice, until randomly, I kept getting errors saying it cannot links the apps...
So I've fulled backed up my EXT4 partition on my computer (Just drag and dropped the folders. Not sure if this was correct), powered off the phone, reformetted the EXT4 partition with GParted, copied the files back in with Linux, put the SD card back in the phone, power it ON;
But now, Link2SD does not detect the apps that I've copied back on the card - although it can link the apps again.
The apps that were restored simply doesn't appear anywhere (But are on the partition).
Is there any way I can restore the full EXT4 backup I've took ?

Your solution didn't work for me because it just gave an error whenever I tried to reinstall one of the previously linked apps. Likely because of the excess files leftover from the original because it would let me install new apps but not the missing ones. I tried to delete some files manually for an app or two, but that didn't work either. I found an easy solution though that works.
SOLUTION:
Just open Link2SD. Click the top left corner for the menu. Then click on "Clean up the 2nd partition". When I did it said it needed to delete 104 unused files, so I said ok. Afterwards, actually all but 2(out of 32) of my apps were restored with data automatically and those two I just restored from Titanium Backup.
NOTE FOR ANYONE TRYING THIS:
If it's still not working after that, then just try to reboot and see if they reappear. If you do lose some apps, at least you can reinstall or restore them from a backup after that. Again I only lost 2, but the other 30 missing linked apps were restored.
Just installed O2 OS and when I went to do an app restore with Titanium I noticed it didn't recognize the SD partition.
If I go to Settings>Storage it says 27gb free (out of 64gb, so everything is still on the device), and lists where memory is being used but that only adds up to about 3gb
If I boot to twrp > Mount > enable MTP
Then plug into my laptop, everything is there, all my songs, pictures, backups, etc from when I was running CM11S under SDcard/0
In TWRP if I try to restore (I have two twrp CM11S backups) the screen is blank, and I can't change the restore directory so sdcard/0 where they are now located
When reboot and I plug the phone in on my laptop the phone storage is blank. I can't copy anything to the phone (says "The device has either stopped responding or been disconnected.") So I can't copy the TWRP backup and/or Ti Backup I saved to my computer
So I went back into TWRP > Mount > Enable MTP
Then tried copying my Ti Backup folder to the main device folder. Transfer seemed fine, so i rebooted. Same thing as before, it doesn't show any files on the sdcard
What's going on with the internal memory? Basically what I need to be able to do is do a restore back to CM11S and I'll try to start with a fresh Oxygen flash.

Similar problem with oxygenOS.
While in TWRP with MTP enabled, I tried to copy my most recent TWRP backup (put it on my laptop this morning just in case) that I have on my laptop to the SDcard, everything copies over and shows up in TWRP restore except the Data files, it says they are too big to copy, each is around 1.5GB
Am I ok to do a restore without the Data files?
Well I seem to have solved it.
In TWRP I did a complete format
Rebooted into TWRP
Plugged into laptop with Mount>MTP Enabled
Transfered ROM onto device
Flashed
Rebooted to system
Everything seems to be back to normal. Phone is rooted, local memory reads and writes fine. Just have to transfer my Titanium backup from laptop to phone and do an app restore.

I have a new problem, when I try to pull down the notification tab, the second swipe down doesn't open the setting and quick toggle menu. If I restart the phone it lets me do it for about the first 10 seconds but then something must load that prevents it.
'back' is the only haptic button that works too. The others vibrate indicating they've been pushed but no action is performed. I check in Button Settings to insure they have tasks assigned to them
In Gmail, links also don't open
If I search with the Google search bar and try to open one of the results, i just get a grey-white screen that says "google apps", if i go back it usually opens the result to Chrome
Wiped Dalvik to see if that had any effect, it didn't.
