Today someone with bad intentions sell me a Samsung Gear S2 Demo.
I think that is a demo phone for expose in shops because i can´t pair it with the gear S2 aplication that I installed from PlayStore.
I try with a Samsung Galaxy S4 and my LG G3, none of this phones pair with it.
I have bluetooth, wifi, and I can explore all the function but it can't synch hours, calendar, and notifications.
I think I go sell it in ebay for parts because I can't put it work.
It have the box, and the wireless charger in mint condition.
Habe anybody knows about these demo smartwatches from samsung?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried installing the Samsung Gear Manager app from the Samsung app store (not from the Play store)?
No I don't try it yet.
But the smartwatch have a retail mode applications, I think that retail mode application is for shows in retail stores, it works for demo.
I don't have the reset menu for formatting the device.
I have 99% sure that is some king of demo smartwatch.
I pair it with my LG G3 with the Gear S2 application, but when it should start to synchronize it stops.
I have a LG G3 and the procedures are exactly the same.
I don't have luck with this buy.
May be someone want to buy it for parts.
Thanks sefrcoko for your help.
Is it because it has reactivation enabled? S2 and many new devices have this so that the stolen phones or devices cannot be used unless the original owner put in the proper userID and password to disable that, then the device can be factory reset again.
I don´t think that have reactivation enabled because i don´t have either the menu reset, it doesn't exist in this version.
Very strange.
Are you getting an error message? Mine is limited on absolutely the same functions but keeps flashing a "Unfortunately, Gear Plugin has stopped" message and never syncs a bloody thing.
You have to get the Gear application on your phone and use it to pair your S2. Simply establishing a BT connection with your phone and the S2 is not the way to get the watch set up and going.
On the watch go into Settings/Gear Info, you should then see "Reset Gear" as the 3rd item down the list. While the watch is resetting use Galaxy Apps to get the Gear Manager installed on your phone. The watch should be paired through Gear Manager to establish a proper BT link, it will also install other files you need to make the watch work with your phone.
I hope you get this working, I know it is frustrating to not have new technology work for you. Good luck and reach back out with questions and updates.
Hi I have the same thing but mine is a demo watch is there a way of putting new software on it because there is no reset or Bluetooth
There's no resolution for this??

I have seen a thread where user shows how to downgrade firmware of the watch.

Gear Manager stuck at "Gear not Found. Please turn on your Gear and try again"
Hello everyone! This is my very first post at xda and unfortunately it's about a sad subject.
I got a Samsung Gear S2 to my Dad for Christmas and when I was talking with the salesman (that by the way treated me really really bad, I thought for a moment that he would just throw the watch box at me and grab my money), he told me that his phone (Moto E) was compatible with the Gear, and the only requirement was the Android 4.3 version or higher. The version of Moto E is 5.0, so I was confident that it would work.
Yesterday I gave the watch to my Dad. We installed all the required apps (Samsung Gear, Gear Plugins and Samsung Accessory Services).
Unfortunately, the Samsung Gear app just can't find the watch. We tried everything. Hard resets and so on.
The fun thing is that I can find it on Bluetooth devices (outside the Samsung app, inside Settings) and I can even pair with it, but the app is completely unaware that the watch is turned on and discoverable.
I didn't get any compatibility errors. I just can't even find the watch using the Samsung app.
Is there anything that I can do or just buy a new phone?
Thanks in advance,
Vinicius
I'm in the same situation exactly.
Per the Samsung page it requires 4.4 or higher and at least 1.5gb of ram.

I had Samsung Gear / S Plugin update on Google Play today (10/10) for my S2 and afterwards, all I get are FC's and the S Plugin constantly crashing on my device, making the watch completely unusable.
I had to force stop and remove the software from my phone and factory reset the watch. I'm not the only one who is dealing with this issue either.
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Wearable-Tech/bd-p/wearabletech
So if you're constantly getting crashes today, at least you know why. I'm not sure if there is a workaround for this or not. If there is, please let me know. Everything was working great until Google Play updated the software today.
Thanks!
Had the same issue, but I did have xposed on my rooted phone. Without xposed the update seems to be working fine...

I switched from SuperSU to Magisk last week and have "hidden" all the Samsung Gear apps from root. Now, I can use Samsung Pay (and Android Pay) on my phone. Before switching to Magisk, some of the Gear apps were listed as incompatible. Everything works great now including all the latest Gear Apps & Plugins.
High phone cpu usage
Hello to everyone. I'm dealing problems after last update of gear app software. Every time Gear S2 tries to exchange data (reconnection, data to Shealth, watch apps install) with Galaxy S5 (android 5.0 and android 6.0.1) it uses 99% of phone cpu for 50-60sec, , sucking both batteries (phone and watch). Tried on android 5.0, android 6.0.1, rooted or not. Is there any ideas what is wrong?
Hello,
I have the Note 10+ and the new Galaxy Watch 4. Since a recent update now on the phone it says that the Samsung Galaxy watch 4 Plugin keeps stopping. I've tried wiping cache and data on the plugin, the wear app on the phone, wiping cache and dalvik, going back to the last version all without any resolution. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this and if there's a fix for it.
Thanks in advanced

I'm having the same problem on a Note 20 ultra.
The watch is discovered by my phone. They Bluetooth pair just fine, but I can never get past the "Agree" screen to actually get the watch connected to galaxy wear before the app crashes.
- Removed and uninstalled the Galaxy Watch Plugin (for the 2018 model)
- Unpaired my Galaxy watch (2018)
- Uninstalled Smart Things (Suggestion on another forum)
- Uninstalled Android System Webview (suggestion on another forum)
- Factory reset my phone and did not restore
Nothing I do works, Samsung support was rude to say the least. They are replacing the watch as that's what they suspect the problem is.
I suspect crappy app development.

I finally got mine to work. Is your phone stock or is it rooted and bootloader unlocked? I found that my issue was actually due to a plugin or whatever in magisk, once I disabled it, I was able to set everything up fine!

No, not rooted just stock from my carrier. I'm legit ready to just send it back and look for a galaxy watch (2018) with LTE

I don't blame you. Have you looked at the plugin version and seen if you can roll back to a later apk to test it? Cleared cache/data and uninstalled and reinstalled? Any weird third party apps installed?

I was suspecting third party apps so I just factory reset and uninstalled and many apps as I was allowed to uninstall. (Carriers here have almost no bloatware).
Unfortunately the version I have for the plugin appears to be the only version. I might be able to roll back the galaxy wear app. The only other thing I can think of is an issue with the latest update for my phone.

I have similar issue and no resolution. My phone is OnePlus 7T Pro and the Galaxy Watch4 plugin keeps crashing if I try to open Galaxy Wearable app. This started happening only on the second evening after installing that app and pairing the watch.
I have looked at the stacktrace by sending feedback and checking the details. The stacktrace indicates my crashes have something to do with Samsung Pay which isn't even available in my country (Finland).

I could for sure remove samsung pay, i don't even use it (I use google pay).
This is really dumb though, it shouldn't be this difficult to setup a watch.

Interesting.... My phone has samsung pay on it but I have it frozen with Titanium backup and so far no issues here. Other than Samsung did an EPIC fail releasing this watch with no BP monitor since that's the main reason I bought it. Luckily I found a work-around here on XDA to fix that

If I'm interpreting the stack trace correctly, the problem is that the app (Watch4 plugin) receives an invalid response or something it doesn't understand. It's trying to update something related to Samsung Pay from a server or from watch.
I guess it will get fixed with an update and hopefully soon.
PS. Next time when the crash dialog pops up could you press the report button and then check the details of what would get sent? In the details there's a button to open the stack trace. Check if the first few rows mention anything about Samsung Pay

After today's update to Galaxy Wearable app and to the watch the crashes are now gone. I'm trying to not touch anything Samsung Pay related in the wearable app or the watch to not trigger whatever was causing the crashes. It might still be that it's some scheduled job that only starts after a while like it did on the first time.

Unfortunately, it won't let me actually see the log files of what happened. Just lets me send them off to Samsung via Samsung members. I can't even view the logs there either.
They probably go off to an unmonitored inbox

For me it stopped after the watch got update and I've not touched anything Samsung Pay related since. Have you already got the watch update?
GUYS I GOT IT WORKING!!!
1) Uninstall the galaxy watch 4 plugin
2) Clear cache and atorage
3) Unpair the watch4 if it actually Bluetooth paired
3) Download and install the Galaxy Watch 3 plugin (I had to download the apk outside the ayatore)
4) setup your watch again. I was shocked when the app didn't crash.

Wait - you replaced watch4 plugin by watch3 plugin? While pairing Galaxy Watch 4?
had this same issue today, tried everything.
managed to fix, heres what i did
uninstalled watch manager plugin and galaxy wearable completely
install galaxy wearable
install Galaxy Watch4 Plugin_v2.2.11.21120251 apk manually
start setup and all fine, seems its an issue with the latest plugin Galaxy Watch4 Plugin_v2.2.11.22012751
all back working and paired now
hope this helps someone
I got google wallet working on my samsung watch 4 bt version. Only problem is that app gets disabled sometimes and requires enabling it back using samsung wear app, and at times it gives location error at which point, app might require reinstallation with vpn connected.
I wanted to know if anyone has tried sideloading spay wear apk. I couldn't find wear apk for spay anywhere but was hoping that someone might download it using adb and upload it here.
