My Xperia z5's corner has been dent , I do have a warranty but I saw on a thread on sony care website on z3 forum that I need to replace the whole frame and this is very costly as am conserving money to buy Huawei watch so I can't buy it , so my question is will this affect my phone's waterproofing capability ? although my phone pass the pressure test but i need to make sure , and can i replace those corners by myself ? or i need to get my phone to the sony customer care ? will this void my warranty ?

Hey everyone. I've bought a Z3 in December but its front panel (screen/digitizer) is starting to separate from the body, the adhesive is not doing its job anymore... We don't have Sony in our country, the shop I bought it from claims to be the official representative of Sony in Armenia, but today I took the phone to them and they refused to repair it, and they voided my guarantee because my phone had physical damage.... And told me they need to change the whole panel which will cost me around 300 USD... I've seen videos on internet that just change the adhesive but they told me it won't work... Then I took it to another shop and they said they could repair it without replacing the whole panel and it'd cost waaay less than 300$ but they told me to forget about waterproofing... I wanted to know whether or not I (they) can can fix it without replacing the panel and will it be waterproof if they do it?
Also, here: http://www.witrigs.com/replacement-parts-for-sony-xperia-z3 the digitizer is only 40 USD... And this adhesive: http://www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-supporting-frame-sticker-for-sony-xperia-z3 will my phone be waterproof after using it?
P.S. since my panel was off so I couldn't just wash it and was stupid enough to spill cake's cream on my earphone and then try to clean it with a knife and tissues I've torn the thing that covers the top speaker/earphone and maybe damaged the speaker, because it makes noises, and sound waaay too low... So yeah, my 2nd question, can I find a speaker replacement for it, and if I do, will it still be waterproof after replacing? Note that the "thing" I don't remember how it's called is damaged, torn with a knife...
Anyone?
The are either ripping you off (seller) or are clueless, by claiming you need the replace the whole thing. I'm sure Sony would take care of it for free, since they don't have a shop in your area take it to a shop that is authorized by them for repair. It should be cheap.
The back glass of my Z3 is cracked, and Sony refused to fix it for me under warranty !
Where can I find original replacement parts online ?
Which one should I bay ?

All versions have same physical dimensions so u dnt have to worry about them not fitting.. U can buy any version..of z3 back plate..
Thanks unmaskedfalesh for replying
Will I lose my warranty if I replace it my self or let some replace it for me ?
And the water resistance, will it be gone ?
I also found items that come with NFC chip which is more expensive, If my NFC is working now with the broken glass will I lose it with the replace of the broken glass with new one that doesn't come with NFC chip?
Since they refused to fix it under warranty, at this point I would assume it is void (physical damage) so it does not matter where you get it done.

As far as i know the nfc chip is glued to the back plate so u can easily..take it out and stick to ur new back plate...
Yes warranty is void..and also as another member quoted they refused to repair so u dnt have to bother about warranty being void..imo
If u stick the cover properly u will retain ur water resistant feature dont worry..the cover comes with glue..band that u have to stick very carefully... If u need a tutorial there is one on youtube feel free to ask the link if u cannot find out..
U can check the video and make up ur mind whether u can do it or get it done on a repair shop!!!
Gud luck

A few people have already replaced the back on their Xperia Z3 and posted the results, part used and method of completing the repair. If you do complete the repair yourself, take some pictures and share your story in that thread.

Has anyone had experience using Sony's repair service? IT appears my battery has swollen and popped the back cover off I am considering sending it in to Sony to have it repaired and am wondering if anyone has an idea of what the cost is in US $$$. If it's too expensive I'll likely do it myself buut am worried losing the waterproofiness.

Don't you have warranty on the device? A damaged battery without an opened case is definitively not your fault..

No, it's out of warranty
Sir, your battery has bulged. This is a very dangerous signal. You need to replace your old battery in time and replace it with a new battery. This is a tutorial for replacing sony xperia z3 battery, you can learn to repair your sony xperia z3! Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYDXuK_Hy3I
I managed to drop my xperia z5 on the exact corner it had been fallen on and repaired before... So it broke again despite the cover :crying: The touch doesn't work anymore with the broken glass bottom right corner.
It still had 3 defects from the previous fall, bottom speaker is dead, the vibrating function is broken and the fingerprint scanner is dead. It was the only time it fell since I owned the device and it instantly broke from less than half a meter on concrete in a cover so I bet it breaks again if I let it fix and the same happens.
The cheapest local phone repair store will repair only the screen for 185 euro's and idk how much the other repairs would cost if I were to let that be repaired too since vibration function is quite a good function.
Given I can get back 100 euro's for the broken device as discount on a new phone it's also a bit appealing.
A fully functional 2nd hand xperia z5 goes for about 300 euro's and a brand new xperia x compact is 450 euro's on release day, normal X is 466
I really can't decide what to do, an xperia X isn't really an upgrade but money doesn't grow on my back though so X performance is too pricy at 637 euro's.
What would you do? or what should I do

i would do the simplest thing.that is to buy a case. i always buy a case as soon as i buy a new phone. so maybe fix it and do that :/
Hi.
Does Sony have service manuals for XZs phone with a parts list?
Mine XZs has a cracked screen, I'm in Thailand and a service center is far-far away from me, considering order parts online and do DIY repair. Found out that to replace the screen I need some OEM adhesives to keep phone waterproof.
Wanna do it right and order all parts I need, it would be handy to have service manual to get OEM part numbers and step-by-step guide.
Maybe you know where to get this manual?
Thanks.
