Playlists being deleted - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

*speaking for someone*
Using a music app called BlackPlayer X
Music is held on an SD Card
So my phone deletes playlists everytime I make one, and I have to keep making them over and over.
Let me know what other information you need.

Edit or create Android music playlists?

So I am using an HTC Evo running Android 2.2 with HTC Sense.
I am trying to set up some playlists in the stock music player.
Creating the playlists in the music player is pretty straight forward. The problem is some of the song titles are too long to read on the screen. It doesn't have a landscape mode either, so that doesn't help.
I have friends who are musicians, and I have a lot of their music on my phone. They will give me, for example, a 4 disk set with 20 songs per disk and each song will be named SquishFunkJamsWinter2010Song5Disk2.
If I put the whole folder for each disk in a playlist, it defaults to putting song 10 before song 1, and the order is all weird. And when I try to change the order of the playlist, I can't read the end of the name because it's too long.
Does anyone know of a good app that will let me create or edit playlists and will work in landscape, or at least let me scroll over to read the end of the longer file names?
Also, does anyone know where the stock HTC music player stores the playlists that it creates?
I am looking for a way to do this on the phone, not a computer...

Duplicate Songs in Google Music

I recently started using Google Music. Previously I had all my music files on the internal memory of my INC. I had just copy / pasted them from iTunes but now it looks like Google will sync that music automatically when I download new music to iTunes.
But I noticed quite a number of duplicate songs recently. Is Google placing duplicated songs on the SD Card somewhere? Should I delete the music folder from the internal memory or is it maybe just a fluke for these songs? Doesn't seem to be across the board though.
Google music beta has been pretty buggy so far. As for your duplicated, it might be because your tags don't match between what's in the cloud and what's on your phone. I guess you could remove them from your phone just to see what happens. Worst case is that you have to reload them.

Use Amazon's cloud and be done with it already.
I had the same issue. Here's what google said:
Albums stored locally on your Android devices may appear more than once
during uploading. After uploading has completed, Music Beta will recognize
and combine these album listings.
If an album is appearing multiple times in your library after uploading
has completed, this is likely because the 'Album Artist' field in the
metadata for your album's listings is either blank or appears differently
for each listing.
To combine these listings, simply edit the 'Album Artist' field so that
it's identical for each album listing. Instructions for editing metadata
can be found in the Music Beta help center at
I had the same issue so I uninstalled the program uploaded all my music and deleted off my sd card and internal memory and have had no issues...but do remember it is still in beta.
OP did you solve the problem or does it still remain?
im seeing kind of the same issue over here, except mine is duplicating songs in playlists in google music. i have 0 gigs of songs on my phone and all the music is coming from the same itunes. It will just put the playlist of songs twice in the playlist. kind of annoying.
i had the same problem with some albums i had on SD card.
all i did erase the albums from card.
I am having the problem were duplicates are showing on the web version of Google Music. I have no duplicate songs in iTunes and they all have the correct metadata. Most of the duplicated songs appear to be ones I purchased or got for free from Google.
I do not want to use Amazon cloud as it's not free.
If you have all the music on your couch with music manager attached, if deleted off Google Music online. Would music resync with music manager?
Ik. randomness
and did you already try with another ROM if the same happens to you?
Bi-Directional syncing is also a huge problem on google music.

Poweramp question or music player

Really dumb question reguarding poweramp music player.
Is it the best?
Will upgrading the voodoo app make it sound better?
How do u put music on it, or whats the best way to put ur itunes on it?
Currently running humble 1.25 and I cant figure out how to put music on it lol
Since, I'm not quite sure which step you are stuck at I will start from as much of the beginning as I can...
Music is as simple as mounting your SD card and dragging and dropping music you want...put it in a folder called Music.
If you want to send playlists, there a bunch of desktop players that will sync with android...
The newest one written by the mozilla foundation - MIRO and it integrates with itunes.
doubletwist is another one that is very similiar in layout to itunes (both desktop and android app) and will sync your device.
Winamp will sync wirelessly...
If you have music on your SD card, poweramp has an option to tell it a directory, as well as hide the music (puts a .nomedia file) in the directory so no other scans will look for it (speeding up the sd card scan on boot up)...just go through all the settings.
I personally believe poweramp to be the best player on the market.
I have very little experience with voodoo, and do not feel adequetly knowledgeable to make any sort of intellectual comment on it.
I have folders on my SD card labeled like this:
MUSIC_Rock
MUSIC_Rave
MUSIC_Club
MUSIC_Country
This allows PowerAmp to use these folders as playlists. Works for me.
So from itunes are they already in the right format? I dont have to convert anything, just make folders on the SD card called music and drag them over from the computer?
Cloudskipper is a pretty good music app IMO.

[Q] Offline songs in Google Play Music?

Hello, I just want to know how the Google Play Music app know where and how to select the songs on my device's local storage in order to play them in the app? In fact, on the external SD card of my phone, I made a folder with all my songs in it and when I open the app, all songs will automatically loads up in the app. But the question is that the setting of the app is dead simple; it does not even have the "music folder' selection in which I can tell what songs the app have to scan. Why and how everything comes out automatically and what happens if I have more than one "music folder"? How to app will scan? Thanks.
I want to know this as well cause Google Music isn't bad but just being able to play music when your online is just crap when you have music stored on your phone.
Android has something called a media scanner, it usually runs after boot has completed (it may also update here and then while the device is running).
So this media scanner scans all your data for music/videos/pictures so that these files can easily be accessed by any app. So it does not matter where your files are, it just finds them.
If you add music through any non standard app to your storage this may not trigger the media scanner, thats why recently added music may not show in those apps using the media scanners results.

You should see a tack icon above the song or go to the menu and clickkeep song or download.
Remember to click thanks ifi helped.

How to view all my music from SD card?

I recently added all my music (roughly 90GB of music) to a Sandisk 128 GB Class 10 microSD. I put this microSD into my phone and my music players were unable to locate all the music. I don't know how, but at one point, all my music was finally scrollable. After some tinkering with the ".nomedia" file, all my album artwork showed up in my gallery. I've since then installed QuickPic to deal with that annoyance. However, I have been unable to look at all my music again. The majority of my music are in one big folder with no name, or in Shuttle, every song in it is called "null - null". How can I restore my phone's ability to view my entire library of music?
I've yet to try deleting everything off the card, and then retransferring, but that's a real pain in the butt and I would rather do that as a final option (though I don't know if that would even help).
I have tried deleting my music players' data and uninstalling/reinstalling and restarting my phone and unmounting/mounting my SD card, but still no luck.
Oh, and I am rooted on QF6 Hybrid Nougat ROM.
Sounds like the files are corrupt. To test this plug your phone into your pc and try playing the music with a media player on your pc. If the music plays, then it is not corrupt.
I had a similar issue a while back and it was because my music didn't transfer correctly and some of it wouldn't play.
