With the google tv emulator released I wonder if source code will follow soon, and if nujtndies will we be able to get Google TV running on the transformer?
Obviously the tv passthru would not work since we only have 1 HDMI port, but it might still be interesting for other apps. Use your phone to control the Transformer while connection d o the tv using the nice google tv interface.
With all the new apps and wireless technologies available now, is there a way to get the same "cast" functionality going through an XBOX connected [not smart]TV with your phone?
I have a stock/unrooted Samsung Note 3 and XBOX 360 and want to mirror my phones screen and control some apps like you can with the Chromecast, mainly a web browser on the XBOX.
Thank you for any help!!
Hi all,
I just received my CS968 last night and while everything works quite well, the interface for android is definitely built for touch. How do you work around this with only having a remote? Any apps you recommend?
For example, how do I drag/rearrange icons around on the "desktop"?
Are there alternatives to the stock launcher that's better for a media player device? TVLauncher 2.0 seemed to be the launcher everyone used but the developer seems to have abandoned it.
Also, apps like Hulu and Netflix seem to require switching to "mouse" mode on the remote to navigate or in the case of netflix, play a tv episode. Any suggestions for workarounds?
Thanks.
Get an air mouse/keyboard, I like the Mele F10 Pro and the Measy RC11

Exactly. Air mouse with keyboard is the key. F10 and RC11(personally use one) are IMO the best. Of course you can plug a keyboard and a mouse too.

Its posible to make zoom-in zoom-out (Like I can do with two simultaneus touch on a phone) ?
you can plug in a normal mouse in the otg usb port and use this as in a PC, you can drag zoom as you wish
A good thing about Android is that you have a more powerful system than what you get from an Apple TV, but sometimes all you want is a set-top box, that can be as simple to control as that Apple TV, My guess is that Android TV is more or less set up to be controlled exclusively with a remote, and that's what many of us really want.

Well, its what our wives want
Android on a tv using a remote/mouse thing isn't wife friendly. (no offence to female tech heads )
i see that Fire tv now has HBO NOW.. but the Shield TV is still lacking this APP.. is there any way to extract the Fire TV specific APP and side load it on to the shield tv? im sure that the Shield TV is more then capable of using the apk... i dont know if its compatible and i wonder if any one has posted a download site for the apk yet... this would be great on the shield tv..

I have my shield tablet hooked up to my TV the majority of the time in console mode. The regular Netflix app is not very user friendly while using a remote. The latest Netflix app for Android TV will install on the shield but when you open it you get an error that it is not compatible. If you are not in console mode and rotate your device the error disappears and you can control the app with a controller and touch controls do not work.
Is there another way to bypass this error so you wouldn't have to rotate the device each time you want to watch Netflix and be able to launch in console mode?
Sorry for reviving an old thread but I'm wondering this myself.
Currently support for controller is **** on non-android tv netflix.
