it's backwards compatible, so it will work.
If i were you i would check on qualcomms website for quickcharge approved devices.
I use a quickcharge 3.0 charger and works just great.

can you tell me how much charge current do you get with QC 3.0? is it really faster than 2..0? because the Moto X play only support 2.0 charge from what i've read.

So have much time does it take to charge your phone from 0-100% with QC 3.0?
Using Aukey QC3.0
Max was 2440mA
Charging while using the phone took 60m to reach 60%, another 60m to get it full (still using it). I've never tried to charge it without using it LoooL (I'll report back if I did so).
Don't make a habit of using the phone while charging, it generates more heat and shorten the battery life span

Part of the Quickcharge system is the charge backs right off when the phone is in use therefore avoiding any extra heat.

No, it will use a 3.0 charger as a 2.0 charger.
Using a Tronsmart QC 3.0 charger, takes about 45 mins to charge from 10% to 100% when turned off, about an hour in airplane mode, and under heavy usage, 2 hours.

I did use some power banks made by this company. And everything was always all right. So in my opinion you can give it a try pal.
I have also a question about original wall charger. Does it support qc 3.0? Or it's just a 2.0 model?

I dont have orignal with me but it should support QC 3.0 because they say that 80 percent charge in 30 minute. How long it take for you to charge your phone fully?
80 percent in 42 minutes. That's why I think it might be qc2.0

Looks like LG changed something starting with v10d - 3rd party chargers still fastcharge but you need the original LG cable or all you'll get is slow charge.
Tnx. I change cable with original cable and now i have fast charge with tronsmart charger
I'm using:
http://www.tronsmart.com/products/tronsmart-42w-quick-charge-3-0-usb-wall-charger-black

http://www.tronsmart.com/type-c-cab...a-+2-0-male-sync-charging-cable-6-feet-1-pack
And Quick Charge 3.0 works, firmware is V10G.
Got this phone without the charger but still have the one from my nexus 6p, will that fast charge it?
I bought a genuine HTC fast charger and ctype usb cable from EBay AU. It works awesome and allows fast charging.

Just for everyone's info, g5 will say fast charge even if you charge it on qc 2.0. There should be some notification saying is it 2.0 or 3.0 , ampere and apps like that meassure only mah, but we need measure V cuz qc 2.0 and 3.0 are not 5v

Maybe, I dont know how they work but I know for sure they only measure mah not V which is important for qc
I was using v10e stock and now im using genisys rom 1.3, i have used: tronsmart qc 2.0 car charger, 3port wall charger, one port wall charger and an Aukey qc 2.0 powerbank with Aukey usb type-c cables, and the fast charging does show up, of course it is not as super fast as stock qc 3.0 charger but its still pretty fast, sometimes if the notification doesnt show up, i just replug the cable and it works again. And mind that quick charge wont work fully with the screen on, as it automatically decreases the charging power due to heating.

Although the Huawei P9 lite can receive two amps and 10 watts of power from a charger, Huawei includes only a one amp and five watt power supply with the P9 lite, which results in rather slow loading times.

This is what I keep seeing in the log: https://github.com/Meticulus/androi...rivers/power/hisi/coul/hisi_coul_core.c#L2634
What I am seeing and measuring is that mine, the 3GB dual sim model, max current draw is 1.08 Amp.
This is the max the device will charge at no matter what if you connect a quick charge ... even a nuclear powerplant that can provide a billion Amps at 5V as long as the kernel or charging circuit is like now. A bit painful but I find the battery life to be good. Good enough so it won't be a deal breaker.
I've had phones that died while using the GPS in the car and on a charger, this one doesn't if you use a quality charger and cable.
So i'm about to buy a new charger for my MXP on Ebay but I was wondering, what is the differences between Turbo Charger and Charger 2.4a? which one of them are gonna charge faster?

Turbo charger will surely charge the phone with Qualcomm QuickCharge
2.4A charger on the other hand, depending on the ports it has. If it has a single usb port then Turbo charging will be enabled, normally these chargers have the Qualcomm QuickCharge logo on them. 2 ports or more means that the 2.4A is divided/shared, so no turbo charging since each port could only provide maximum of 1.2A

Yes this version supports 3.0 quick charging
Is there any official QC 3 charger for Mi Max available in india ? or something from other mainstream phone manufacturers that could be used with Mi Max ?
I am using my old Galaxy Note 4 charging brick with the Mi Max cable included in the box and charging speed is great on both official MIUI ROM or Validus ROM, 2360 mAh
I've been using an Aukrey Qualcomm 3.0 Quick Charger with my mi max; charges it up from 2℅ to 100℅ within 25-30 minutes, which is quite impressive regarding the fact that it bears one of the largest batteries(4850mAh) in the smartphone market.
So, you should opt for this particular one........i guess?
I got Tronsmart and its working great, and it was listed in Qualcomm pdf.
I read about that quick charge 2.0 charges as fast as quick charge 3.0 , the difference is that QC 3.0 allows wider selection of voltages , so the main difference is not speed but compatibility . Does someone using QC 2.0 and what times do you get from 1-2% to 100% ? In my town there is only QC 2.0 on store and i dont want to order online and wait weeks

I guess not much a difference, I am using Quick Charge 1.0 (Galaxy Note 4 charging brick) and the charging speed is decent. So I guess the difference will be very few minutes that is negligible in real life IMO

The charging current fluctuates while charging, so it might be low when you measured Android N's power draw in mi a1

Well, it isn't proved until someone gets the perfect readings, all when using a QC charger.

Indeed, still gsmarena is a reliable source, also XDA has a article regarding this without quoting gsmarena. Btw, for me current charge time of this device is also decent.

Do we know if the USB-C cable included with the phone is QC compatible? I have a QC charger that I can try to measure with tonight. The Choetech cables that I have are only 5V/2.4A compatible.

Try with a QC compatible cable from a friend or something... And I assume. You are already having the Oreo beta build?
Can I try to flash Oreo with the UpdateEngine magisk module or should I wait for official release?

I think it might be since it can handle the 5v 2amps charging with the original brick that came with the mobile. QC v2 just uses variable (5v/9v) voltage to quickly charge a mobile without needing to go higher than 2amps.
I watched a video on YouTube where that guy tried charging the phone with a quick charger but it didn't work...
It still took 2 odd hours to charge completely

Not on Oreo yet but we need a baseline using the same hardware setup for testing on Nougat before we can have any reliable data on Oreo to compare with.
I'll test with Nougat later, maybe consider going to next Oreo beta (whenever that is). Really don't want to move to Oreo until xPosed is ready though.
