I dont know when it occurs, but once it does, I have to reboot my phone in order for my recent apps to reappear on my recent screen. Anyone know what may be causing this?

I third this... Rebooting "solves" it.
Also since the latest update (13A), when I'm out and about my time goes 4 hours ahead. Sometimes I have to go into the settings and turn network time on and off to fix it.
I spoke with Verizon tech support and they are suggesting a factory reset to hopefully resolve whatever glitch is causing this to happen.

Update: I'm getting a replacement under warranty. It's a hardware issue.
Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
Hi all- do you use the "OK Google" voice feature in the Google app? If so, there is currently a known bug out there where if you use the voice command multiple times within a short period, all of your apps will be hidden from the recent apps screen.
Best you can do is a) don't use the Google App, b) when the issue occurs, reboot your phone, c) Browse to the app in your application manager and clear all data, and then set up your voice model again. Very annoying. I have the beta of the Google app and it does seem to be resolved. This is not a hardware or LG issue; it even affects the S7.
The issue is known in the Google community, and a proposed fix is supposed to roll out in the next few weeks: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/websearch/A7JWsN8I2kM/oM8RlnMaBQAJ.
How on earth is this a hardware issue?

I'm think my phone has a separate hardware issue not related to the recent apps screen issue.

Ok. I would laugh the Verizon rep you talked to out of the store if they thought that was a hardware issue.
Good think you got a new phone out of it.
Yeah, i was still within the one year warranty, so it worked out.

I've had this on other android devices before but never this bad. Under network usage, the top item is consistently "0". Clicking on it results in FC. I just went to CM7. I dont think the issue came back until I reinstalled all of my apps. I used a network monitor when I was stock rooted and never saw anything unusual. Anyone have any ideas? I have a feeling it is killing my battery.

Bump. I have the same issue. If I click on the item labeled 0, it force closes.

Can you give me a list of all of your apps? Maybe we have a culprit in common.
Bump.......
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
I have the same. I believe it is all non system apps lumped together as I don't have any of them listed like I did on my n1. I think the system isn't representative of individual app use for data or battery. The battery history normally lists apps associated with a specific uid if you press each. My theory is something in the framework isn't registering apps independently but grouping them together creating false readouts.
[EDIT] I do see individual apps on network use so I want to strike my theory. Now I'm just back to puzzled.

Sorry, been too busy to check back in on XDA for a few days. I could post a list of apps, but my original observation was during the couple of days after I did all the factory wiping / calibrating to fix my battery life. I didn't have any non-stock apps installed at the time.
The 0 is still there, and still force closes. I was hoping some more people might have insight on this, but it doesn't seem to have caught on.

Just grasping straws here, but could it be related to the carrier allowing it or not? I don't have the option either BTW. Try switching sim cards if possible.

Switching SIM cards didnt help. It's something with the phone. I'll try version 4.3 of Google +, but there must be something else going on here! So strange!
Hangouts missing? Sounds more like a solution than a problem.

I have noticed one of my biggest battery draining apps is the google dialer application.
For some reason it seems to keep the phone awake for hours on end, even when I do not spend very much time on the phone.
Stock, 4.4.3. rooted, thats it.
Any suggestions or ideas? I've tried clearing the dialer's cache and data, but it still keeps the device awake for no reason it seems.
Thanks in advance!
Anyone? Here are some screen shots.

mmh I've never seen that problem.
You could first try clearing data and cache of the app. If that doesn't work, maybe flash the factory images? Just to be sure it's not something on your side.
Hope this helps.

Boot the phone into recovery and then wipe cache and dalvik cache, and then reboot the phone.
I think 4.4.4 addresses this issue, you should make a clean installation of the factory image (again) and see how it goes.

I flashed the 4.4.4 system and radio images.
Will report back. So far so good..... But I will confirm.

OK SO i think i MAY have figured out this bug.
I use the search function in the dialer app all the time for work. I call a lot of businesses in the area and i always use the dialer to look up their numbers. This is what I think causes the wakelock, as it triggers a search and looks up local businesses matching the number.
I've turned off this feature in the app, as well as the caller ID function and so far i am not having any issues. Will report back.
Just an update. I can trigger this bug in any ROM, including cyanogen mod and also paranoid android.
Here is the solution until Google offers a fix:
By leaving the above options unchecked, the wake lock will not trigger.

Maybe get rid of Chrome unless you particularly like it. I found that Chrome was a memory killer on my 2nd Gen when I tried it. I don't really like it anyway so it's usually the first thing I dump after I get a phone.

Think they just changed how the settings are, but these are features for Advanced Messaging and I do see it working.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for. Using Samsung messaging app, go to settings (3 dots top right), then more settings, you'll then see seperate settings for text messaging and multimedia messaging.
Hope this helps.

Interesting. I followed the instructions, yet still do not have the chat settings in the Samsung messaging app, v 4.3.03.2/msg svc 4.1.02.48. I have CarHDROM installed on 955F, so will look around for a solution.
