LG Stylo 2(K540)- At this point I'm begging for help! - LG G Stylo Questions & Answers

I'm new to the XDA Forums and even forums in general so if I speak out of place or anything like that I apologize ahead of time. So anyway, where do I start? I'll try to give you the short version. So I bought an LG Stylo 2(model: LG K540) through Cricket the day they came out. It was $170 phone. On the second day of using my new phone I got the bright idea that I'd try and root it BY MYSELF. I knew better but for some reason I had this false burst of confidence & thought I had everything under control. Well, thanks to Kingroot that burst of confidence didn't last long and there I was with a 2 day old phone BRICKED. Reason I never posted on the forums is because I've got a buddy who , in my eyes, knows everything there is to know about Android and thats who I'd normally go to when I wanted to root a phone so he's who I immediately turned to but even he couldn't figure it out. He couldn't help me unless we had the stock firmware or someone with the exact same phone and according to him we could some how use a backup of that phone to fix mine. Cricket just wanted to sell me another phone even though I was standing there with a 2 day old phone and LG just wants me to send the phone in to them, which I have no desire to do. I've searched all over the internet trying to locate the firmware because even I can fix the phone if I had that but nothing. Had hoped by now LG would have released the firmware but at this point who knows when that'll happen. I'd even pay for it at this point. Anyway, just thought I'd give the forum a shot on the off chance someone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction. Oh and if you were wondering what the phone does now, when I turn it on the LG logo appears like it should but then right as it appears you see a message in red lettering that says: BOOT VERIFICATION FAIL!!- CAUSE: MISMATCH_SIG_LEN And it just loops this over & over until you pull the battery out. Please someone help me!

Source code to rom¿?
I ran into basically the same situation as you. I'm currently downloading Android open source project on to a fresh install Ubuntu 16.04. I am currently in the middle of running sync.
I'm curious if there is anybody out there who would be willing to give a few pointers, on compiling the ROM from LG open source code. They told me I had to use it in the readme.txt.

Im a noob with fair knowledge of modding and stylo not stylo 2. There's no way to say for sure if this will work but on lg mm on h631 u need to unlock dev option in settings 1st. Make sure to check off oem unlock and usb debugging. Connect to pc and you will get a popup or 2, one will ask to allow pc to connect to phone, the second is to allow usb debugging. After you allow both, open cmd in your adb fastboot folder. Type " adb reboot bootloader." should reboot the phone to bootloader/fastboot mode. Then you type " fastboot oem unlock." you will see sending.. Once sending is done type " fastboot reboot." when the phone restart you should see bootloader unlocked on splash screen. Then i rooted with kingroot. Then use rashr to flash twrp. Then used twrp to flash supersu to get rid of kingroot.. My h631 now in business and i just started working on a port for lg ux 5.0. This is the guild i use for a better idea http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-stylo/how-to/guide-lg-g-stylo-how-to-root-t-mobile-6-t3333916. You might need lgflashtool and kdz to unbrick..

NO NEED to beg.
I don't know very much but I know $$$ talks and since no one save the few who suggested contacting lg wants to help, Ill try. At the moment I am efforting a solution via the Chinese. I expect to have a working copy in the next 48hrs. when I do, we can arrange for you to get access to the mega.nz cloud and get urs.
say a prayer......

BIN File
Hello, I have a Stylo 2 K540 from cricket, it is having issues with the Wi-Fi, it will not connect to either Wi-Fi or bluetooth, MAC address was set at 02:00:00:00:00 or something like that, I opened the phone and it has humidity sensor active, cleaned the affected area but it seems like it was useless, eventhough I was pretty sure that was not the main problem. I looked for some troubleshooting options and found non of use, firmware is sold for $30 online so it is not an option since I am not certain loading firmware will be of any help. I tried repairing MAC address via Octoplus using other addresses but was useless as well.
I have little to no experience with software on phones, but I like to read and learn. I decided to connect the phone to the computer and "Read full flash" on Octopus, I have created the Bin file, I have a perfectly working phone as well, I was wondering if there is any way to get the KDZ file from the Bin file doing some sort of conversion, or if I could do some sort of fix or workaround with this bin file, I can share it if anybody needs it or if it can be of any use to get the firmware

If you have bricked your D850 and need help...

I recently tried to root my D850 with 5.0.1 Of course, I botched it and it got stuck at the boot screen. I figured a factory reset (hard reset) might save the day, but it didn't. The device was not recognized by the PC and the MTP driver would not work no matter what I did. In desperation, I chatted with an LG USA rep. He said to submit a repair request, which I did. There was no mention of cost but at this point, I don't care if it does cost to fix it. They emailed me a FedEx label and I sent it off yesterday. There was another thread in which the OP sent his in to LG with pretty much the same thing happened and his device was repaired free, so I'm hoping for a free fix. Point is: I got this device from a seller on eBay and I was upfront with LG about that. Warranty or not, they seem willing to fix it for me. So, instead of beating your head against the wall trying to fix it, you might want to consider sending it to LG if you get it fixed yourself.

Or you can just follow my guide which 1,000s have used to fix there phone It takes under 10min after you download everything.

If its stuck at LG boot screen just put it into download mode and follow the guide... They will most likely charge you as they will see ROOTED in red when they go into download mode.

Which would PROBABLY work. But as I stated in another thread (to which I got no response), the PC is not recognizing it. And, as I stated, I don't care if they charge me or not. I just want it FIXED.

Then try another PC.
Sending to the company is a last resort type thing. Some cases people have been charged more than you can get a used one for at times.
The method in that thread is the exact way LG will be fixing your phone. (Unless they just replace your motherboard)

If that's the exact way and it works for them, GOOD! Because I tried it and several other methods and it DID NOT WORK. As the person the said in another thread, they fixed it FREE. And, if they charge me, so what? I'll have my device working properly. I don't know where you'd get one of these for under $100, but if they fail to restore it, please DO tell me as I'd sure like to know. In fact, tell me now so I can grab one for my wife.

They normally at least charge $200 + for a phone repair. . I've dealt with LG and LG phones for a good while now.
And not sure if you have ever posted in my guide asking for help.
Different methods? There's ONLY ONE method that works for the D850 which is the TOT method.
After downloading and installing the drivers , software and zipped tot, did you make sure phone was IN download mode? Did you make sure you changed your COM port to COM41?
You have to be sure your following everything step by step.
The guide is very simple. I can pretty much gurentee that if you lived nearby I'd have that phone fixed in under 20min.
I'm just stating myself and my guide has fixed 1,000s of LG phones.

Maybe so, but it didn't fix mine. See, when the PC does not see it, nothing is going to download, upload, flash. It's a moot point anyways, as it's on it's way to LG, Ft. Worth.

Wishing you the best of luck, Provide and update as to what happens.
SO the phone was in download mode when you tried? You`d look for LGEmodem under ports in device manager.
UPDATE
So, I sent my G3 into LG_Ft. Worth approximately a week-and-a-half ago for the symptoms sited at the beginning of the thread. Bear in mind, I got this phone from eBay and I told them that. I also told them that after I tried to do a Factory Reset, it locked at the LG boot screen. That's ALL I told them. No questions asked: They sent me a replacement unit. F R E E!
The invoice stated "Bad ROM flash. Replacement sent." I'm restoring from back-up now.
Same issue as OP
I have one G3 soft bricked. At first, i was be able to connect to dl mode. I tried LG Mobile Support tool to flash the phone back to stock , at the end, it failed. Now the phone not let me enter dl or recovery mode. PC not detect the phone at all. I'm using original Nokia USB cable. Tried with 3 computers, none of them detect when plugin and hold Vol up or down etc...
I want to follow TOT method but what can i do if computer not detect the phone?

I'm sure there will be others that will have you try different things, but FOR ME, I went to the LG website and chatted with a tech. He told me to send it in. Even provided a shipping label. See the original post for what took place. They shipped me a replacement phone... F R E E. Took about two weeks.

Yeah but using my back to stock guide can take about an hour depending on your connection. If connection is good then maybe 20 min.
And not all cases will be the same. There's some cases of people getting charged even just to get there phone back.

Sorry for the delay in case you didn't find out no, the method uses official lg firmwares. Which requires windows. So no way to do it on a Mac unless you use a virtual machine which is very buggy to do this with.

On the topic of bricking (and unbricking !!) the D850, I just received a D850 from ebay today. I tried hyelton's procedure
to restore a stock ROM (LGD850AT-01-V10d-310-410-JUN-19-2014+0.tot) and it failed during the download.
My D850 entered a horrible bricked state, booting with a "secure booting error" message, and then alternating with red and blue LEDs. It was impossible to enter download mode. Trying to use the default recovery to do a factory reset failed. Basically it seemed like the device was bricked.
I was a little panicky because I just received the phone earlier in the day.
I then found this amazing thread on the Sprint LG G3 forum, which describes a sort of hard reset you can do inside the phone. (kind of like an alternative download mode to transfer files to the device). This requires you to short two connections in the phone with a ~2cm piece of copper wire, so you obviously need to be comfortable disassembling your phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/guide-fix-hard-brick-recovery-guide-t3132359
I am happy to report that this procedure worked perfectly to return my ATT D850 back to life, notably giving me download mode back, which I used following Hyelton's procedure to download a stock ROM back into the phone, which now worked fine.
I hope others can benefit from this.

lg optimus zone 3 lgvs425pp stock firmware dump

hopefully this will help out some people and the developers to make, fix, restore a not so popular phone. I did a total firmware dump and have uploaded to my 4shared folder. If anyone is interested or can tell me how to upload it here for developing i will be more than happy to share with those in need. I also have a spare phone that i would be willing to test anything made from the firmware dump i created.
PLEASE link?
Some time after rooting my Optimus Zone 3 VS425PP, I got locked into a boot loop. There are no custom ROM's, neither recovery nor OS. It's not bricked. Yet, anyway. The loading screen functions, then a little window that says "OPTIMIZING APPS 1 OF 5, PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE BATTERY..." appears. I've seen this before, but now, upon reaching "APP 5 OF 5," it reboots and repeats. I've tried several factory resets via the LG RECOVERY (MODIFIED,) as well as safe mode to no avail. Anyone? Anything? Help? The only recourse I can think of would be to re-flash the stock ROM, which I cannot find. Anywhere. Thanks, guys.
i tried contacting judthro for the same file; no luck

Unfortunately, I don't think this file is actually out there. I have REALLY been looking, even contacted the LG Development team. The LG Support Tool, etc. are not going to help you yet as they do not have the firmware on their servers yet. That's why the LG Support Tool will freeze when trying to do an Update Recovery on this phone. -- And I've tried them all: LG Mobile Support Tool, LG PC Suite, Verizon VS425PP Update Tool (from the mounted drive on the phone), LG Flash Tool 2014 to force different KDZ files. All provide nothing. All dead ends. The Optimus won't grab a COM unless it is the right signed firmware for the phone. You'll just sit there in Download Mode or in Debug mode forever with no result. We have to wait for the first update from LG from version VS425PP1 to whatever comes next so they have something to stick on their server. But...if you find something before then, please let me know! The update will eventually be released to the public. It'll probably just take a year or so.
Good thing is Wal-Mart sells these for under $12 (yes, that's right). I picked up seven of these quad-core bad boys at that deal. Just bugs the hell out of me I can't fix the one I over rooted.
this *might* be promising...

hopefully the op will chime in for insight. The 999MB isn't much good. It appears to be a RAR dump of all the partitions, perhaps made from a lglaf.py script while in download. Nevertheless, i havent found any way yet to push the firmware dump onto the phone.
I've had no luck, either.

Meanwhile, as my LG cycles endlessly through my really cool "Jolly Roger" boot animation, I stumbled across a Kyocera Hydro Wave at Walmart for $20. I snapped it up to replace the LG Optimus Zone 3. I had big plans to root it, too., but I should've researched it first. The specs are great... but one check on Cyanogen's website probably would've saved me some trouble. Not one Kyocera device is listed there. XDA thread also throws red flags-no one can get root to stick. Well, I at least learned a lesson. Next time, I plan to purposefully buy a phone that can be rooted, has been rooted, has instructions online to do so, AND has at least one custom ROM available! No wonder this thing was $20! Keep us all posted if you stumble across a bootloop fix of some kind, and I'll do the same.
here is stock recovery for this device https://www.dropbox.com/home/Apps/Flashify/VS425PP/recovery

Either I am unable to open that link from an Android device OR the link given is to an unshared folder? It just asks me to log in and then says 'that folder does not exist in your DropBox...' PLEASE check out the SHARE link from within your DropBox and maybe share a new folder (and drop the stock ROM in there, along with what you might've used to flash it maybe?) We'd be very grateful!

To all who have a bricked, phone this phone has an update. Download the LG software assistant and put assistant in repair mode then boot phone normally and wait a bit. Run the repair assistant and let it run. Hopefully if everything runs well as it did me. Mine is restored and running.
Just ordered one. Is there root for this phone? Unlocked bootloader or forgetaboutit?
I rooted this phone and then tried to de-bloat, but I must have deleted too much. Now when I boot all I get is "Security Error - Authentication Fail #9"
I can get to Download mode, but none of the recovery programs recognize the phone. I installed the drivers, but still nothing. Is there anything I can do?

Hi to all of you.I got given an old samsung galaxy s4 mini(GT-I9192)and the person who gave it said it was broken if you can fix it you can keep/sell it.I tried opening it but it didnt respond to any keys even when i tried download/recovery/power on.As i researched online it seems to me that the device has been hardbricked. The guy who gave it to me said he had sent it to a store to repair and said that his cpu was not functioning anymore for both of his s4 minis which doesnt seem to happen just for the 2 phones that 1 person buys and because i live in Albania services arents so great. When i tried to install a custom rom from odin(latest to this date)it wouldnt recognise it but when i plugged the phone in windows made tge sound that something was plugged in and then shortly after it made the disconnecting sound whoch gives me a reason to think that the device may still be alive.I came here since this is the most know site for tech stuff.I havent seen any kind of bricking before but i read tgat the soft bricked devices just need a clean install and to wipe cache and dalvik which gives it the look when it was bought.Ive seen that you can pay for jtag or try a usb jig but i dont want to spend any money since i have a better phone (galaxy j5 2017) and i just wanted to see if i could use it to experiment with roms root and stuff on there.
Any help will be appriciated and if i have any mistakes in my languagee im sorry because as i said im from Albania and not USA/UK

Download and install the full set of USB drivers for Samsung phones. This might be part of your connection/disconnection issue.
https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
On your Windows system, go to Control Panel>Device Manager, then connect your device, when you connect it, watch the Device Manager window, if your device connects, it should have something appear on your list of devices. Try to see what the list shows when the device connects, even if it still just a momentary connection, then come back here and post what it says. This will give me a better idea of what is going on with the device.
If what your friend told you about the CPU's being bad is true, you won't be able to fix the device(s) unless you replace the motherboard(s).
Some Samsung devices with locked bootloaders also have a hardware component called a Q-fuse, if someone attempts to flash a custom recovery or anything else custom on the device, it trips Q-fuse which then "burns" the fuse, rendering the device inoperably hardbricked. This is probably what was attempted on the devices you have. If this is what happened, you won't be able to fix it, not even Samsung themselves can fix this, all they can do is salvage the device to reclaim any possible usable hardware components.

Thanks for the reply.First things to start,my friend doesnt mess up with loading custom roms as he doesnt have much knowledge on technology.Next, when i connected the device the first time it showed me the name QSHUSB_DLOAD(or smth like that because i am not avaible to use the computer right now).I tried installing some drivers and i will edit the name that i got when i use the computer in a matter of a hour or two.

Everything you're describing is exactly the results one gets when someone tries to flash something custom via Odin, or when trying to update the device via Odin but the wrong firmware is flashed.
Generally, the only to fix this is to send the device to a professional shop to have a JTAG service performed on the device(s) or replace the motherboard.
From what you describe, I believe the devices are permanently hardbricked, the only solution then is to replace the motherboard. Other than that, you're wasting your time.

Well feom what i know he doesnt know anything about odin or flashing a new rom since he doesnt even know what a rom is.Then again he hasnt done a factory reset since he doesnt know how.And he has even said that hasnt done anything else than getting it out of the box putting a sim card and just using it.If there is anything we can try to bring it to life by trying to flash a new custom rom or the original rom from an sd card or a usb flash drive(since i have the converter from charging port to usb).Anyways i was just trying to see if i could bring it to life and idk maybe give it to someone else or sell it.
Thanks for your help for the tips you have given me amd for the help that you may give in advance

If you can find a "debrick.img" or "unbrick.img",(sometimes, these files are debrick.bin or unbrick.bin), there is a method that involves burning the .img or .bin file on an sdcard to create a type of "bootable disk" to restore the device. The only way to get a copy of this file is from a rooted device with the same model number as yours, try to find one that someone has already creates and made available or try finding someone in this forum that has a device like yours with the same model number and then have them pull a copy of debrick.img from their device and upload it for you to download and use for your device.
Here is a thread for doing this on a galaxy S3, if you can find the specific debrick file for your exact model number, you can try this method. Use the method and the tools as described in the thread, you just need to make sure that any device specific files used in the method are those files for your specific model number.

Edit:I forgot but is there a limit to the usb or sdcard size that i will use?And is it possible if i get another samsung phone os or the debrick.img?

Use an sdcard, the thread that I linked has instructions for returning the sdcard to normal usage after you're done getting the device restored. No, you can not use a debrick.img or any other file from a device with a different model number, it has to be for YOUR SPECIFIC MODEL NUMBER I have told you that in every one of my replies here, that is a MUST, it is not "optional".
Stop looking for shortcuts, I know it isn't easy to find what you need but there are no substitutes, do it the right way or don't do it at all.

Galaxy S8 Issue (Regarding bootloop)

I decided to root my Galaxy S8,and im pretty uneducated on how to do those sorts of things, but there is what looked to be an very easy tutorial (snapdragon).
while following those instructions, i missed the requirement of needing adb, and so odin(prince) failed. well, i disconnected my phone. took it out of download mode.
now its forever stuck in an infinite installing system update loop.
i checked for solutions online. go to commands, a factory reset. ect ect
except i get a:
#fail to open recovery_cause(missing file)
which leads me to believe i messed up my software, no biggie, i can just fix it though oden... right?
wrong. opening oden ive come to realize i can no longer get my phone into download mode, and neither does oden recognize my phone as a well... a phone.
so im at a loss of what exactly to do.
do i go through my provider, hoping they fix the issue?
do i wait for a solution here, one i might not have the skills to accomplish?
or do i pay out the pocket to get someone to fix this thing. i really dont know

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device and variants.

AT&T Radiant Core (Tinno U304AA) - Modding Discussion

Picked up an AT&T Radiant Core for cheap at a store around me. I don't intend to use it with AT&T, it was just such a low price that I figured I'd get it and see if I can break into it just for fun. It's an MTK6739 chipset phone, so in theory it should be easy to pull partitions from this thing with something like SPFT (or Miracle Box, if you paid for it) and do a dirty port of TWRP to get root privileges on it. But this is harder than it seems.
I need an auth file to do anything with SPFT. Apparently this has to do with some kind of "secure boot" mechanism that MediaTeks sometimes have now. There's no stock firmware for this device online from what I can find, nor for the generic version of the device, the Tinno U304AA (AT&T just rebranded it). If I had a stock firmware image, maybe I could risk wiping the partitions and reflashing the stock firmware to get rid of the secure boot stuff.
I saw a guide for how to access the bootloader on the Tinno U304AA generic version, but on the AT&T version of the phone there's no option in the boot select menu (Vol. UP + Power) to get to the bootloader to run a fastboot oem unlock. All the AT&T version has is recovery and normal boot. I'm not sure what I can do to maybe reset this to get the other options. Maybe if I had the stock firmware for the generic version of the phone I could overwrite it and get access to those other options.
Either way, just posting this up for anyone else that got one of these and wants to collaborate/contribute. Maybe with enough collective brainpower we can make something happen.
UPDATE: found a stock system image dump, thank you to @lopestom for directing me to this. This guy's been the MediaTek king for as long as I can remember.
It appears to be a dtbo and system partition dump. It also has the vendor partition and a (partial?) boot image dump. Not sure if things like the full boot and recovery images are stored somewhere in here, I didn't look too deeply into it yet. I have no idea how whoever this is managed to pull these partitions... they either got root access somehow, or they found a proper Download Agent and Auth file to pull it all. Either one of these would be awesome. I reached out to the user to ask them how they did it, we will see what they say if they want to share how they did it.

OMG! So excited to see this here! My Mom gave my nephew this phone and niece has one. So I've been trying my best to get the thing to at least be a decent phone! I installed a launcher on it, changed the icons and wallpaper and made it look good at least. It will be nice to have someone to talk to about this. The thing has been beyond frustrating! First off though how did you get the computer to recognize it? I can't get Windows or Linux to recognize it and couldn't find any drivers. If you managed that much you got further than I did. I haven't tried with my nieces though. It might just be his phone. She's 13 so it took awhile to pry it from her long enough to find out what kind it was, but I'm willing to try to get it from her once again if the phone can be improved.

Linux should just work, plug in the thing and the "drivers" if you will should be there already. Check the phone's settings for USB Debugging in the Developer Options if there's further trouble.
Don't get me wrong too, this phone is, was, and will always be a piece of junk. There's no getting around a screen this bad and 1GB of RAM. I'm actively trying to find a Download Agent and Auth File combo to get this thing to work with SPFT so I can try to port a custom recovery to get us Magisk root permissions at least. Root will make the phone slightly better, but it will still be junk. Unless we can get kernel source for it as well to mess with things like clock speeds and CPU governors (which LEGALLY we are supposed to be guaranteed, but good luck convincing a Chinese company to give it to you) everything we do, if we CAN do anything, will be like deodorant on a turd. It'll smell a little better, but it's still a turd.

Right, I'm considering giving him my current phone when I get a new one. It doesn't seem like I'm going to be able to unlock and root it so I want a phone I can. Mainly for space personally. He's young so he doesn't need it rooted, but I'm thinking if I can root it then I might be able to use it to root my phone. Speaking of rooting I think I found a way to root this phone. It took me a couple days to get the phone since he said he couldn't find it, but I have it now. It just needs to charge, but the battery sucks so it takes forever. I did find out that it does have a decent recovery. I had booted it into recovery and then I was messing around with the keys after the little passed out green guy popped up and suddenly it loaded stock recovery. It had an option to mount the system and flash with adb and everything. The only problem is I kept booting it by messing with keys. So I honestly don't know which ones worked. I kept booting into it last night by messing with them, but now I can't seem to get it to boot into the right recovery now that I'm trying to figure out the right key combination. I will figure it out though (eventually) and let you know what you have to click, but if you get the chance just mess with it and hopefully you'll find it like I did.
Also I was looking up the phones variants and downloaded a couple stock roms that I felt had all the right specs I'm going to try to flash one if I can get it plugged in. I downloaded custom twrp image's for them as well, and even found one twrp that I was able to download in the app. If you used it then you know that it takes you to a download page if you are downloading the wrong twrp.img. So the fact it let me download it in the app meant it tricked twrp into thinking it was that phone. So I'm going to try that stock rom first. Maybe we'll be able to change it to another model. It really needs something flashed, because it's a mess. I thought he messed it up, but after reading what you said maybe it's just the phone. He's young so it doesn't matter as much to him, but I feel bad for my niece. I really need to look into at least getting her another phone. I'm going to work on it later today and see what I can do. First I got to get it to work on the computer, but I may be able to root it without the computer. I'll keep you updated with my progress.
any luck with this?
Yeh, is there a status update?
Sorry, I got a concussion and haven't been able to do much, but really I'm stuck because I can't get it to connect to the computer at all. Not in Windows or Linux. I think he's messed it up beyond repair at this point. The offline root gave me an error around the mounting of the system, but that can be done if you can get the recovery to show up. It's one of the options. I was trying this method. HERE see if you can get it plugged in and to work. Also, Kingoroot gets to 90% on the apk alone. So the computer app might do the trick. Then you can switch it to su. Really a rooted phone can get a lot done with apps like flashify and flashfire that we can't do right now. If you can get even a temp root let me know and I'll tell you what I found out about the apps to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, Flash Magisk, then flash ROMs. If you want to try the variant route I was trying then just do a search on google. Some sound just as bad, but other similar phones seem better. You can pick which one you want to try. The phone I have got to a point that it kept deleting applications and stuff on the phone and has trouble with the sd card. So I don't have the stuff I had saved on it anymore. I'm giving him my current phone when I get a new one. It's too messed up to salvage. I hope you have more luck.

I need to unlock my phone U304AA
Ok boys and girls, in case anyone is still wondering here is how to root this sucker.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1--Ul1ae73zcejNuJ1a7ftq5sTo2VP8Ya/view?usp=drivesdk
Comes with two files. Mtksu amd magisk be sure to use the magisk version included in the zip. Install mtksu then wmagisk, open mtksu and install the top magisk option. Reboot then open magisk hit install when it asks. Now open mtksu scroll to the bottom and hit activate and reboot again. Should be good too go at this point. Oh yeah be sure to click apply at boot in mtksu. Not sure if this had been posted before or not. Now, to find a way to unlock bootloader and install twrp.
Thank you, I tried Mtksu on mine and it didn't work, but it might've been the phone. I don't have one of these anymore, but I hope you all the best of luck. For the bootloader and Twrp try Flashfire or flashify.
MTK bypass method released by some smart dudes out there. I will test if we can use SPFT on this phone now. Stay tuned. This could mean root & recovery in a matter of minutes.
EDIT: It ALMOST works. Technically it bypassed the auth file as advertised. The only thing left now is finding a compatible preloader/scatter file to use.
Used a modified Moto E6 Play scatter file to pull images from the device. Tried flashing over stuff and got an error. Long story short my U304AA is now permanently bricked, so I'm tapping out of this project here
I do have recovery and boot images that (supposedly) work if anyone else wants to try and take over Keep in mind these were pulled with a scatter file from a DIFFERENT phone that's of the same chipset, so not everything is guaranteed to work. For example, the preloader was pulled with the specified parameters but I do NOT know if it's functional
Because I'm tapping out, and because nobody else seems to have anything on this, I'm uploading everything I can. Some pulls are too big to upload and some just won't work for some reason, but use whatever you'd like for anything you can. Hope I did something helpful
I have searched in Google Search and the tutorials forum but not found a tutorial

Well AT&T is giving away lots of Radiant Core devices because of their 3G shutdown: https://www.xda-developers.com/att-3g-shutdown-free-phone/
My wife and I just got one, so now I have two of these but I'm not sure I trust AT&T enough to use the "free" phone that they sent.
It would be great if someone can pickup this project, especially since so many phones are now flooding the market.
I just got 3 of these "free" from AT&T. In fact I don't really need them, I just happen to have phones with an IMEI number that AT&T cannot decipher, so they sent me new phones just in case I can't use 4G.
Anyway, I'm trying to use mine as spare Google assistants scattered around the house, but because they run that crappy Android Go, the Go version of Assistant won't listen to me until I long-press the home button. I would also like to use them when I travel as a spare.
These things are essentially throw-away, so I'm OK to risk bricking one of them.
What I really want to do is install a real version of Android on here, has anyone managed to crack this yet?
I personally have been writing and reading using this tool https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient, which is much simpler than the others
Its a little rough around the edges, but it certainly works
My final problem is disabling secure boot (I already have a boot.img patched with magisk)
It appears that fastboot is simply not a mode for booting on this model, so I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable AVB by hand with just partition images

if it's possible to downgrade the firmware to before the october 2019 patch, it might be possible to mtk-su the device: https://www.att.com/device-support/article/wireless/KM1376142/ATT/ATTU304AA
might be another alternative to trying to disable avb on a locked bootloader
