Still worth at 2016? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I've found one a 2nd hand web the One Plus One for 190€ (209$). Right now I have the Moto G 2015 1GB RAM version so... it's good to the day to day stuff but nothing excellent, maybe the camera. Is the OPO a nice buy nowadays? Thx!

[Q] Should I keep my HTC One X or move to the Moto G?

I've posted this on Reddit, but I want to know the opinion of the new Moto G community.
Here goes:
I have my very loved HTC One X (International) with me at the moment. I've been happy with it after a year and a half.
My phone has the HOX wifi fault. And the battery life barely gives me 2-3 hours screen on time. I've tried underclocking, flashed custom roms, kernels, etc. But the battery still doesn't last me within the day. Not even until noon.
But I've been reading pretty good stuff about the Moto G and it's hardcore battery life.
I know that somehow I'm downgrading. I'll miss the slightly larger screen though. Also, I don't care about the camera, because I have my Canon EOS M with me which I can copy pictures to the phone via USB OTG.
Would it be worth it if I sell my HOX and get that one? Or do you have a phone to recommend me? I'm planning to get a Pebble smartwatch too if ever.
P.S. I'll be able to sell my hox for like $220-ish here in the Philippines. My cousin is in the US at the moment for the holiday season. So I have my way to get that phone.

Get a Moto G, it's really good.
Before I bought the Moto g I had the opportunity to buy a used One X. Same price I thought "get the newer Google Device".. Now having the moto g I am very happy with that! Get the Moto g.
The only thing that isn't good is the cam..

Few day's after getting Moto G, I got as gift Sony Xperia Z1, and as I prefer Moto G, the Z1 is still in box and I think I will not use it (too big, too heavy etc) at all, but as it's a gift, I also can't sell it.
If you cant sell it, give it as a gift to me, i will sell it and give you 40% of the price
Thanks for the tips! I'll be selling my HOX soon. Hopefully before Christmas.
Only phone I recommend over the moto g is the nexus 5

Hi. The moto g is the way to go so far the battery experience is much better than the nexus 4 the phone I used have and the nexus 4 is a beauty. 50 gigas in Google drive and I have run all the apps that I did in my nexus excepting a couple like gravity box and touch control (gravity box works OK in 4.3 but it doesn't in 4.4.2) the others work flawlessly. I have no experience with pebble but I have a sony smartwatch 2 and it works nicely with the moto g. So my advice based on my experience get the moto g. Besides those kind guys who are developing are working hard to allows to have those tweaks we love.

sorry to bring up an old thread but to the op
How are you finding the Moto G in relation to the one X?
My one x has the wifi fault and a horrid battery life and the black screen of death and so I definately need a new device until upgrade time
Would you recommend a Moto G?
Thanks

I also have the wifi fault with my HOX, and battery life was very terrible. I had to do lots of tweaks that compromises the performance of the phone to get more juice, but still has bad battery life.
I'm glad that I was able to sell my HOX for $220+ here in the Philippines, and got myself the Moto G plus a shell that my cousin will be bringing home from the US. Can't wait to get it!
I wasn't able to buy me a Pebble though. The $89 sale at Best Buy was done. Although They announced the Pebble Steel which IMO looks great and I'll try to save for that instead.
I hope I didn't make a bad choice. Battery life is really on my priority list, that's why I didn't try to save up for the Nexus 5.
I really really can't wait!

I got the Moto G after my One X stopped working. My research suggested that the One X, Nexus 4 and the Moto G were quite similar. In practise, it was similar to the One X, the differences that I've noticed:
The screen size is slightly smaller but not by much. You have quite large bezzels at the top and bottom - there is less screen space because there are no hardware buttons at the bottom as there were on the One X which I find annoying.
It seems to be a bit slower than the One X. Transitioning between apps can be a bit delayed at times.
The camera is significantly worse, but I prefer the camera app.
Battery life may be a bit better (I'm not sure to be honest). However, this may be because I am comparing to a one+ year old phone, and I had a problem with the wifi draining battery (but only with a particular router).
I also switched to CyanogenMod eventually, so the comparison may be slightly inaccurate.
For this price (and anything significantly higher), I would definitely recommend the phone.

Should i Buy a Moto G and sell my S3 Mini?

Hi, everyone I got a deal yesterday, my friend wants to buy my s3 mini and someone is selling me a moto g, I just need a few more bucks which I can get to buy the moto g 16gb, do you think its a good choice? Or should I stay with my s3 mini? Idk what to do, sadly I can't afford a high spec phone right now, but I'm interested on the moto g cause its pure Google, good battery and design, which I love, I'm kinda concerned about the SD too, but also I might buy an iPod which will give me a lot of free memory, merry Xmas BTW

The Moto G is a better speced phone than the s3 mini. You made the right choice.
sent from my Moto G using Tapatalk
Yes! do it! I came from an s3 mini which i used for about a year. Overall i love the auto brightness on the moto g seeing how the s3 mini doesnt have it and screen at 100% brightness wasn't that good in the sun. While the Moto G at 100% brightness it is very good even in the sun. Also better battery life with medium usage 2.5+ hr of games i was able to get 8 hours of screen on time with 17 hours of standby time! That's really good seeing how i average about 3.5 hours of SOT with my mini. In the end it is worth upgrading to the Moto G!!
Thinking exactly this same thing. I bet I'll order my moto g soon.. This s3 mini is making me sick with all these samsung bloatwares and STericsson's crappy processor with no source code.. So not much development here. Sammy has also left us "because of Samsung is too small company to get source code from STEricsson and make futher android updates." Definitely my first and last sammy device. Nexus/moto line is the way to go. Pure android, nice hardware and great price. 200e about quadcore device, can't go wrong I think
Sd card is thing that makes me wonder but I guess 16GB version is just fine. As I understood moto g should support usb-otg, if so then storage is not problem at all
Sent from my GT-I8190 using Tapatalk
Go for it!
Sell the s3 mini and get the moto G, right now! It would be the best decision you've made in the whole year :good:
This is no brainer!
4.4.2 KK and future updates !
Sent from my MOTO G!!!
Yes.
What is more you can get 50gigas in Google drive and about the micro sd I ordered the Meenova micro sd card external adaptor it is 12 bucks it has not arrived yet but I hope it will work so that solves the expansion bit.

[Q] Considering selling my Moto X 2014 and getting a OPO

Hi All,
I'm considering selling my Moto X 2014 and buying a OnePlus. Does anyone here think that would be a good move? Obviously you're all OnePlus users, but I'd be interested in your input.
Thank's in advance.

My suggestion would be to wait until the OPO OS fiasco settles. Besides you do not gain much going to OPO IMHO. I was toying between OPO and Moto X, picked up OPO because someone was selling it cheap.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also planning on getting the M9 when it's out so it may be wise to just stick the the Moto until then.

Have you changed your device?

Hi!
I just sold my Moto G 2015, It was getting hectic and I needed a huge update. It was a great phone though.
I just want to ask
"Have you sold your Moto G 2015"
And
"What device replaced your Moto G 2015"
Or if you are planning to replace it
"What phone do you plan to replace your Moto G 2015"
Everyone is welcome to answer

I moved mine to "backup" status several months ago, and move to a Moto X Pure Edition... It's a good phone but I wish I had gone Axon 7 (or now the Mini).
I will not own another Moto device.
hi,
i am very much liking my MotoG2015 as its doing fine despite of facing so many RAINS
if at all, i want to change my phone.. i would never buy a phone without IPXX ratings , i want a phone which can be used even in rain
if Moto has launched any G4 series with it, i would have bought them.. but sadly they lost me this year
... so expecting that they do for g5 , else i should have to look at other brands ,
finally, i would choose IPXX rated phones, not others even though if they perform excellent
I am still happy with my rooted stock G3. Although IPXX phones are becoming more common. some of my other favorite features are hard to come by such as FM radio and a 5" screen. It seems most new phones are becoming increasing large.

yup :highfive:
thats why, i like sony's Style of launching 5 inch phones
but Other than the phone , everything feels crap to me
if at-least, Sony launches same phone with small processor at budget price range .. many people would buy it like we bought MotoG3

[OFFICIAL] Moto X Pure/Style is NOT getting Android Oreo update from Moto

Yeah, I know... we figured that already, but the official list is out...

Interesting that the G4/G4+ are missing from the list as well, many people thought it would get it. Glad I dumped my MXPE, just sold it yesterday for $180.

Yep. Kind of a given since the device release date was 24 months ago. I'm not mad though. I get by just fine with my mxpe for now. But I will be a little more picky with battery life next go around.
October 4th can't come soon enough!!!!

Did you sell it on Swappa? Just curious, I just got back a replacement from Moto Care and I am thinking of doing the same.
I guess it might as well be considered official that XT1575 will never see Nougat, either.

$180 eh... I'll be happy to get $100 for it when I'm done with it LOL This thing's insides must be melted by now and I'm surprised mine is still in working condition. I felt the screen today and it was hot enough to burn. It was really hot outside too. How do people in tropical countries use this phone??...

The 32GB model has recent sale average price of $171 on Swappa... I was asking $200 with 3 cases (2 never used, sealed).
Guys, I'm considering buying this phone after almost 2 years with Mot X 2014. My question is "how xda friendly is Moto X 2015?" Unlocking bootloader and flashing ROMs on Moto X 2014 was piece of a cake.
I'm on custom Android 7 based ROM now, performance is great and the only issue for me is storage. 16 Gb isn't sufficient.
Manually flashing custom Oreo ROM eventually on Moto X 2015 would be something I expect to do later next year... if I decide to buy it.
Muito Xt1575 not arrieved the 7.0 yet, the 8 only in dreams.
Android 8 custom roms is real future for moto pure ?
LoL i might buy new OnePlus 5 (soecial edition) which will be officially announced by next week
hope to see more Banger features in it

Nougat is still a little buggy for this device. Have no idea if it ever gets unofficial Oreo. Also, it's just a little old. Don't get me wrong, I'm using this phone, but if you want to buy another device, choose different model... from different company.

Unlocking the bootloader and flashing AICP nougat 7.1.2 was a piece of cake on my MXP, it supports unlocking the bootloader out of the box.

Honestly... Don't bother with a 2 year old device. If you like Moto, go Moto G5 Plus or G5S Plus, 3-4 times the battery life, equal performance, support for probably the next 18 months or so, etc. Or if your budget allows, go with something better, there are lots of options.
I would not buy another Pure, even if I could get a new one for under $100.

Yes, it's all about budget. I can't see right now things I need in a phone for 200 euro:
- nearly stock android
- amoled screen
- SD card support
- and I hate what Lenovo creates now under Moto logo.
Looks like I will need to resign myself to some the points above

Guys, thanks for the comments!

Well there's the Lenovo P2. LOL But it's hard to find phones with AMOLED screens at that price point. I was gonna say just go with the Mi A1 (LCD) when it comes down in price later this year because it's the best stock Android bargain you'll find. Why do you want OLED so bad anyway? The Moto X Style isn't OLED, but it's screen and colours are highly saturated, even for me. I think this is something most IPS panels can accomplish with the right settings. I have to say, though, the Moto's screen is really good for an IPS panel.

I was actually considering Mi A1 as a great option.
I love how OLED works with ambient display on my device. Experience of receiving notifications and unlocking the screen is addictive. When I see how my wife clicks power button each time on her Huawei P9, it looks like something from the past century
