[Q] Considering selling my Moto X 2014 and getting a OPO - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I'm considering selling my Moto X 2014 and buying a OnePlus. Does anyone here think that would be a good move? Obviously you're all OnePlus users, but I'd be interested in your input.
Thank's in advance.

My suggestion would be to wait until the OPO OS fiasco settles. Besides you do not gain much going to OPO IMHO. I was toying between OPO and Moto X, picked up OPO because someone was selling it cheap.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also planning on getting the M9 when it's out so it may be wise to just stick the the Moto until then.

What OS fiasco? It only affects Indian customers.

[Opinions] Wait for nexus 6 or get the new Moto X

I'm curious who all is gonna get either the new moto x, or wait on the nexus 6
to replace the n5?
I'm considering the X if Motorola surprises us with a 64gb model soon, but I'm just looking for some feedback.

Yeah I think I'll wait on the 6 after doing some more reading, its just that the new X does look kinda sexy. I just hope google decides to offer 64gb of storage as that's my deciding factor.
Probably neither

Wait for N6 , if the rumors are true,N6>Moto X
While the X is an excellent device with great moto features, if it's anything like the original moto x... There will be very little Development for it. So if you like to flash roms and whatnot... I doubt the X would be for you.
Also, Verizon, AT&T and Republic wireless don't allow you to unlock the bootloader... Assuming it's the same as the original x again, so you won't be modifying it at all if you get one of those carriers phones.
If you don't care about flashing things, the X would be an excellent device.

I never realized there wasnt much Dev for it, but I'm happy with an unlocked boot loader, paranoid android, and a good kernel, so I think I'm gonna wait till November for the new nexus then.
Thanks for the input peoples.
I am just thinking I don't think Motorola making the nexus 5 2014 edition because it's 2k display so I think lg making the new nexus. Probably the 5.9 inch nexus Motorola making .

The new moto x has a pathetic battery life stay away from it...
Get a z3 compact if battery is prime concern...endurance rating goes well beyond 100hrs for it...(nexus 5 has only 40hrs)

On standby I barely get 12 hours with my 5, SOT is usually around 3-4. When I first got it back in march it lasted around 6-7 hours.

Yea if you ask Nexus 5 users on XDA high chance that you will find us wanting to get the new nexus over anything else. Moto X is tempting but not when you consider the price and the fact that some of its great features will be in L.

Thinking of buying this phone

Is it worth it? I currently have a Moto X... but i hear there are a lot of problems with these phones. is it true?
This phone is really good, as you said some users has random issues, but if you didn't get those this is the best phone.
But if you already have moto 2014, why you want to change?

I do not think you would be making a mistake buying the OPO. The possibly only issues you might have are regarding service and a yellow stripe near the bottom but I have read that there are easy work-abouts for that. The features, feel, OS, build quality, performance are all superb.I have had a Samsung S2, S4 and Moto G (2013) and I am thrilled to have this. Also the battery life is superb - now down to 10% with over 46 hours since last charge and screen time of 5h 15m, 45 minutes voice calls and nearly 19 hrs Wifi on.
You should get the OPO, hands down. Most of the issues people have had with the device aren't even relevent anymore, as they have been fixed in software updates months ago. And I'm pretty sure that stuff like the yellow line doesn't even appear in the hardware anymore, and was only apparent in the first couple months. So you can safely ignore those complaints.
If you're comparing the Moto X and the OPO, be aware that the OPO actually has slightly superior specs. But, you know, that's not the best thing about this phone.
The OPO's XDA development scene is, in my opinion, the best thing about this device. Soooo many important developers have adopted the OPO as their next device, like FranciscoFranco and AK. You will see a lot of pleasantly suprised people in the forums, saying things like, "I remember you from the Nexus 4!" and, ”Yay, xxxx is here!”. No other recent device has the same support. Hell, the Moto X forums are a barren wasteland.
If you get an OPO, be prepared to have a lot of fun on the XDA forums. I know I am.
It is worth it. I would buy again.

Suggestions for a new Android smartphone

Hi guys, I'm going to buy a new smartphone because my old Galaxy Mini 2 has become really slow and laggy even for simplest things.
I need your suggestions about smartphones between 180-220€ (205-250$).
The only surely good smartphone I know with that price is Motorola Moto G LTE.
Now I would like to hear the suggestions of xda users because an important aspect for me is modding.
Thank you all :good:

If your budget is < $300 and used phones are out of the question, then your choices are limited. Moto G LTE is probably your best bet, especially if you are into modding. However, I would suggest saving a little more for a OnePlus One.

Just bought an OPO, hooray!

Moto G4 Plus just launched! Development possibilities??

Hi there! Moto has just unveiled their Moto G4, G4 Plus and G4 Play. I'm really excited, and I don't want to wait for user reviews
So I guess I'll just trust Moto with their reputation, and order one today itself if I can :victory:
What do you guys think of the new model(s)? Do you think there will be much development going on? I'm prepared to wait for the fun to begin, but I just wanted your thoughts on the matter...
I know it is too early, and probably a dumb question but there are many variants (G4 Plus has 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants)... Could that possibly hamper development scope? Also, I've mostly seen that such variants of mainstream models ('plus', 'play', etc) do not have as many options, as far as kernels and ROMs are concerned.
m also in same dilemaa..waiting for some recognized developers words on it @Vatsal is one of them.
me3
:fingers-crossed: Ordered today, Arriving tomorrow.
It won't be hard to port all development work to the plus and play, you just need someone who knows what they're doing. I wouldn't be worried.

I wouldn't worry, as with the previous Moto G's, I expect this one to get some developers on board that know what they're doing. I'll try to help, but can't help with the first steps (twrp, root) as I'm way to inexperienced. (Been battling with the build environment for the Tab S2 for moths, would prefer to work on the code itself )
I'm still in doubt between the G4 and the plus, the latter being released here around the 9th. (the G4 is due 1st of june)

The 32GB model has recent sale average price of $171 on Swappa... I was asking $200 with 3 cases (2 never used, sealed).
Guys, I'm considering buying this phone after almost 2 years with Mot X 2014. My question is "how xda friendly is Moto X 2015?" Unlocking bootloader and flashing ROMs on Moto X 2014 was piece of a cake.
I'm on custom Android 7 based ROM now, performance is great and the only issue for me is storage. 16 Gb isn't sufficient.
Manually flashing custom Oreo ROM eventually on Moto X 2015 would be something I expect to do later next year... if I decide to buy it.
Muito Xt1575 not arrieved the 7.0 yet, the 8 only in dreams.
Android 8 custom roms is real future for moto pure ?
LoL i might buy new OnePlus 5 (soecial edition) which will be officially announced by next week
hope to see more Banger features in it

Nougat is still a little buggy for this device. Have no idea if it ever gets unofficial Oreo. Also, it's just a little old. Don't get me wrong, I'm using this phone, but if you want to buy another device, choose different model... from different company.

Honestly... Don't bother with a 2 year old device. If you like Moto, go Moto G5 Plus or G5S Plus, 3-4 times the battery life, equal performance, support for probably the next 18 months or so, etc. Or if your budget allows, go with something better, there are lots of options.
I would not buy another Pure, even if I could get a new one for under $100.

Yes, it's all about budget. I can't see right now things I need in a phone for 200 euro:
- nearly stock android
- amoled screen
- SD card support
- and I hate what Lenovo creates now under Moto logo.
Looks like I will need to resign myself to some the points above

Well there's the Lenovo P2. LOL But it's hard to find phones with AMOLED screens at that price point. I was gonna say just go with the Mi A1 (LCD) when it comes down in price later this year because it's the best stock Android bargain you'll find. Why do you want OLED so bad anyway? The Moto X Style isn't OLED, but it's screen and colours are highly saturated, even for me. I think this is something most IPS panels can accomplish with the right settings. I have to say, though, the Moto's screen is really good for an IPS panel.

I was actually considering Mi A1 as a great option.
I love how OLED works with ambient display on my device. Experience of receiving notifications and unlocking the screen is addictive. When I see how my wife clicks power button each time on her Huawei P9, it looks like something from the past century
