lets say i unlock my sprint s5 and im on tmobile for example.
Can i flash a tmobile S5 stock rom on the phone via odin?
will it work ok? how about if i flashed a ATT or verizon ROM?
last question, will it trip knox?
yes you can
no it wont (modems will get flashed from the other models firmware, which is problematic)
itll work fine if you flash it in recovery, not odin (same with vzw ROM)
knox is iffy. probably wont trip knox if youre just flashing a stock firmware in odin, but the phone wont work if you flash a G900V firmware in odin. Plus, a G900V tar will lock the bootloader

So my friend has an S6, it's the international 920f model and it's currently on a rooted 5.0.1 with TWRP flashed. I'm not really anywhere near him, and he has no PC to flash it to stock with Odin like normal. Is there anyway he can flash it all to stock on the phone itself and then being able to update to 6.0.1 via ota?
Please forgive if i'm posting incorrectly, have been a lurker for a while
I have a Samsung s6 G920F variant, locked onto o2 (UK network) I believe the bootloader is locked also.
I was on Lollipop (with pingpong root) and recently upgraded to Marshmallow 6.1, so my root is obviously gone, and it doesn't seem that there's root right now that works.
I really want to try out the XtreStoLite rom, theoretically could i flash this rom via odin, since its TW based, would it load on without root, and with locked bootloader? I don't really care about Xnox tripping, but I definitely don't want to brick the phone... I'm not sure if the XtreStoLite rom would count as 'stock based' therefore being recognized by the phone as an official operating system? If that sounds correct.

Link to root your phone correctly.
And Yes you can flash xtrastolite with a custom recovery and without root .
Agreed. ROM has root already. Since you're already on MM, don't flash BL and modem, just ROM & optionally addon. Note that if you replace the stock kernel, you'll probably lose root.

If you lose it, just flash the zip below again

I recently purchased a samsung s7 unlocked phone as an upgrade for me and the wife. It is an unlocked phone but has a AT&T rom, and i am asking for help installing a verizon rom stock is fine. I have tried the regular odin 3.12 and the princecomey odin i was getting a sha-256 error. please advise I am just trying to get a stock verison sm-g930 rom to work on this at&t phone
You will not be able to flash a stock Verizon ROM into the att s7 because the att phone has locked bootloader.
Flashing stock firmware via Odin on the same SoC should work no? Just custom and downgrading that locked bootloader prevents?
Plenty of people flash G930U over their G930A/T/V's
Hello everyone! Today I unbranded my s22 ultra by flashing using patched odin, latest firmware for SM-S908U1, to use it in Italy with Vodafone carrier.
Everything went fine except that for some reason, 5G is not working nor 4G+.
I tried then to get back to stock ATT firmware but failed in every attempt. What I tried is:
- Flashing ATT firmware with Patched odin
-Flashing ATT firmware with patched odin 3.14.4
- Flashing ATT firmware with normal odin
-Flashing ATT firmware with normal odin then perform a factory reset after the setup
I always flashed the full package, CSC, Userdata included.
Every time that the system booted up I ended up with standard unbranded firmware. No, ATT customization and obviously no 5G.
Can anyone tell me how to get back to stock ATT firmware ? I totally ran out of ideas...
Usually going between U and U1 requires a factory reset

The thing is, the phone was always factory resetted as I flashed CSC and useradata every time. Still I tried to flash ATT firmware with normal official odin, then skip setup and factory resetting. Didn't work.
Maybe I should try doing it with patched odin?
Did you try the AT&T U firmware or the U1 firmware with an AT&T CSC? As far as I know, you'd have to flash any U firmware for your model, such as T-Mobile, then upon inserting the AT&T SIM it will revert to AT&T firmware. Yes, cross flashing requires patched ODIN.
The U1 firmware is unbranded and will not fully activate on AT&T or Verizon UNLESS the SIM card is already activated provisioned for 5G. Do NOT use U1 if getting to AT&T stock firmware is your goal.
I have an ATT branded S22 Ultra (SM-S908U) where I flashed unlocked firmware using Odin (was trying to sign up for 5.0 beta...but even flashing unlocked firmware does not show me sign up option in Samsung Users).
I am now trying to return to stock ATT firmware, however, Odin fails at file analysis for both AVA6 and AVC8 firmware.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Factory wipe. Make sure you are using patch Odin. If it fails and boots to emergency warning screen do not try to get back to stock recovery. Just flash firmware again without factory wipe. I usually have to flash in Odin twice.

If you were on Beta (thats Rev 2) and you're trying to flash back to firmwares on (Rev 1) .....that's why your failing. You can't go back but to AVDC. And no matter what patched Odin you try.....nothing will get you to those firmwares.
*EDIT* I misread your post. But either way those firmware are not able to be flashed. You can only flash firmware within your REV.
