* How does it perform?
* Does it support other launchers? (I remember that was a hassle with Miui 7)
* Other keyboards? (With Miui 7, other keyboards used to be very slow)

MIUI 8 Dev ver. 6.7.21 released. Anybody tested it. Is there any hope we will get MM? Any news.

Any review about battery backup (that's ACC. To me is the most important update in Miui 8)

I have resurrection remix 5.7.2 with TWRP on my phone. I had taken a back up of MIUI 6.x before switching to resurrection remix. If I install MIUI 8 now, will TWRP go away?

Nope if u install it as recovery ROM. But if u install it as fastboot, u are out of luck. TWRP will be gone for hell.

Hey, It will be there in the MIUI forum and will be updated week to week. For time being this is the latest one:
http://bigota.d.miui.com/6.8.4/miui_MI4iGlobal_6.8.4_f47442f1f3_5.0.zip
I'm an MIUI insider but as I am using custom roms I can't receive insider updates. Don't forget to check MIUI forum once.

Sorry to bug you, but I had tried to flash a MIUI 8 zip file (cant recall from where I got the link). But I couldn't flash it from recovery. It just didn't proceed, nothing happened from almost 10 minutes. Do you think this has to do something with the ROM (RR-5.7.2 (Android - 6.0.1)) installed on my phone?

No problem. But first look at this :
For installing MiUi follow these steps :
1) Go to twrp, wipe cache, data, dalvik cache, system. And again reboot to recovery. It asks No OS installed, just reboot to recovery.
2)flash Rom.
3)wipe cache, dalvik cache, data.
4)Reboot to system. You are good to go.
MIUI is very different from other Roms. While other Roms take 2-3minutes of flashing , MIUI can take abt 15min I remember. So, just wait until it flashes.
It has nothing to do about your previous installed ROM. All the best :good:

Sorry my bad. Don't wipe data at end after installing MIUI. Just confused with other Roms. Wiping data deletes all preinstalled themes and you will be left only with the default one.

Looks like the site is down......any Mirror Links ???
Brilliant work!
Couple of initial issues:
Gingerbread Launcher does not work for me. The first ROM I customised only had this Launcher selected. I had to rebuild the ROM with an additional launcher in order to see the Home screen at all.
Trying to download Titanium Backup to restore other apps but get error stating insufficient space. Manage Applications shows 169MB available. Have tried reflashing and have also wiped data and davlik cache. Any ideas?

Have gone back to Kyrillos' 10.5 but am now getting the same insufficient space errors. Will likely flash back from ODIN and try again but would still be interested in what caused this in the first place.
Thanks for the quick response.

Flashing now. I'll let you know in a couple minutes.
EDIT: So I was able to recreate the bug. I'll soon be uploading 3.1 and also updating the kitchen as it has a small syntax bug.
EDIT 2: As for the insufficient storage, I have not been able to recreate this yet.
Alrighty. Everyone needs to update.
Just choose Option 13 and the update will begin!
Changelog is located on www.acidhazardrom.com
Gingerbread Launcher working now with 3.1
Still getting insufficient space errors so will go back to ODIN and work my way back up to this ROM again.
BTW Firefox Force Closes, though this was my experience when trying the apk from other sources too.

If Firefox doesn't work from any sources, I'll go ahead and remove it.
Doing more testing, I've found that QuickPic doesn't launch. I have that fixed.
Also, if doing a factory reset, you get the weird menu at the beginning. Fixed that too.
Now I just need to fix Firefox, if possible, and I'll roll out another update. Possibly today.
As for insufficient storage, I installed a bunch of apps from the market and it worked fine. I don't know what went wrong there.
EDIT: Firefox not working from any sources confirmed. Removing that option from the kitchen.
Confirmed that QuickPic doesn't launch
Been awaiting this kitchen! Always found it easy to make my own rom and not to mention in a way . Will try to find some time to try this kitchen and report bugs
Cheers

[ROM] [GT-I8260] REMIXROM v2 S5 Style Final

Hi people, after several months finally bring you the final version of my ROM! It is the final version with the finishing touches appearance and a temporary solution to manage contacts on the SIM card.
Remember only for GT-8260.
New Caracters:
- Statusbar lockscreen gradient like KK works with two modules of xposed).
- Size icons of the second page systemui redefined.
- Some apps more faithful like S5.
- Several adjustments on systemui and framework
- Managing contacts on sim card using the app Contacts2Sim.
How to install:
Its a update, only must to install over the version 1.2, without any factory reset or wipe data.
I dont charge me bootloops, sd dead or problem with the device. Flash at your own risk.
Reboot on "CWM Recovery" or "TRWP Recovery"
- Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
- Install Zip
- Reboot
- Enjoy!
The start takes a few minutes as to give a wipe to dalvick cache rebuilds this data for each app.
Review:
Extras:
For transparency to work them in the lockscreen must install two already known applications:Xposed Installer and Tinted Status Bar.
¿How to install it?
- Download Xposed Installer.
- Install like a normal app.
-Open the app and give root permissions.
- Enter the option "Framework" and touch Install/Update.
- Reboot device.
- Xposed done.
- Now download Tinted Status Bar.
- Install normaly.
- After install open Xposed Installer.
- Open the option "Modules".
- And check Tinted Status Bar.
- Reboot device.
- Finaly, after the reboot open Tinted Status Bar and go to >Deafault settings> Color of status bar and put here the value 66000000. Done!
In the event that the bar is not this transparent even, down and up the curtain notifications.
Depending on each, it may be that you do not like the icons remain. The best solution for this is to install this other Xposed module xStana.
-Install and active just like Tinted Status Bar app.
- After the restart, we open the app and the first section we can choose icons.
Screenshots
Here I give you a screenshot of the gradient lockscreen (I clarify that I use a resolution of 220 dpi, so the font size and clock look differents).

F**k! I swear I do not know what could be wrong . If you work the version 1 , then this should also do so. The error you name is when you use the app phone.apk from a different device.Let me see if I can do, maybe some zip flashabe .Just try to reinstall the rom and makes all the wipes before and after installation . I recommend using TWRP recovery. Good luck!

Another rom hurray! after so many become closed something new. Could you maybe pick up some Lineage rom and keep going 16 is pretty good?
Good to see new rom - only disadvantage for me that it is arm - 32bit :/ . I prefer arm64 roms since I don't have problems with them .
Hey,
long time custom rom user but lurking here. It's great that you bring a new ROM for this phone. Everything works great as far as I can tell. No magisk boot or battery problems.
2 very minor things I would like to see fixed/added: 1) Status bar icons don't fit inside the box. Wi-Fi and Auto-Rotate flood and get out of border. Also I remember a settings button being present there without the need to expand the menu. 2) Add touch fingerprint for lock option.
EDIT: Mobile network seems to not work (no access point names?)
EDIT2: Added them manually and everything is fine
Always great to have a new ROM, thanks!! Unfortunately it's always rebooting into recovery after some few minutes, even without gapps. It even showed the "Shutting Down" system message . Also the ROM didn't find my SIM and I didn't have any mobile network, i would have tried adding access point names if it wasn't for the constant reboots. I have copied logs from recovery, if that is what you wanted I can share with you.
all good until now only difficulty in the optimization in the camera! presents delays. I can not find the option to wake up and sleep the phone with the fingerprint reader

Thank you for new rom! Will try it
Edit: Ok, it reboots to recovery after few minutes. Can't use it by now.
Very good ROM, no problem so far. Just note that the navbar at times is half, you can not see the complete drawing. The icons in the status bar solve them by shrinking the screen, sorry for my English and thanks

Are you using some Magisk module? Because for me that was the issue while using other two roms. The only solution was to avoid flashing any module and the phone worked just fine, no reboots or data corruption.

New update
For you guys and others with sim card problems download the ROM from here or the OP
This build most likely fixes that problem, if not, I'll prepare another solution, thanks

Lets see how it works - I am a bit tired with all GSIs ...:silly:
--- Rom boots to desktop then do auto shutdown and return to recovery --- interesting never seen that before ?! (with Magisk 19.2 + gapps nano) .
Clean rom flashed again - it lasted longer before reboot to recovery on desktop - so I manage to see that no sim problem is still there :/

this rom is very good. are we get any update recenty?
it's been over 1.5 months and no updates.... the ROM seems stable and responsive for now but a monthly security update is much needed.

I can't find the settings for app lock. Is it available in this version? I'm pretty sure it was available in the 7.X version

That's a shame. I'm using Nova Launcher. I tried to switch to the native launcher, lock the apps and switch back to nova but it had no effect (makes sense, since it's a launcher thing)
Great ROM!
Though I am currently facing two issues, one is that if I use a different launcher like the provided crdroid launcher the home glitches, and also the sensors like accelerometer GPS compass, etc. aren't working. Is anyone else facing these problems and if so any solutions?

1. The launcher may be incompactable or needs module support like quickswitch.
2. This can be occur to serveral reasons.
-did you flash gapps after first boot?. try deleteing /data/misc_de/*/apexdata/com.android.permission/runtime_permissions.xml
or clean flash rom , dont forget flash gapps before first boot.
2nd cause is this may occur if you are coming from a pie based rom
check your sensors using sensorbox app in play.google.com

I was using MIUI stock before this and while in the stock I had all the sensors available in the sensor box app.
And I did flash gapps, but not after first boot but rather after flashing the crdroid Rom itself.
I will reflash the Rom and will update you shortly!

Fixed Update!
I had to revert back to my stock MIUI with the official fastboot Rom to regain sensor functionality, and after flashing crDroid again, it's working fine, and the launcher issue is gone too.
Hi, great ROM, thanks!
Some minor issue: the apps are not quite sorted; regardless of launcher (even default one), the list is sorted until the last ones:
...
SatStat
Telegram
Waze
Contacts
Files
Settings
What are "Contacts", "Files" and "Settings" doing there and how do I get them to their proper places?
Is anyone else facing stability issues? I have had frequent crashes of the system UI forcing a restart.
after upgrading from 8.2 to 8.5, the mobile network signal became very weak
Is Violet still supported?
Thank you so much for continuing supporting this phone with a google-less option!
Thank you
Can someone help me out: I'm trying to wipe my phone after installing this ROM (messed up some things so basically reinstalling).
However if I try to wipe the data in Orange Fox, I get a TON of errors
Here's the last one in an incredibly long list (takes two minutes to scroll through): Error opening: '/data/ssh/OFJF8xpsY7U8SodJ9qcy6B' (Operation not permitted)
There are a ton of files in the sdcard that I can't open or access or do anything with.
I've never encountered this type of problem before, how do I fix it exactly?
Edit: To clarify, I can't wipe the data partition and I don't know why that is.
Is there anyway to disable the auto app suggestion in the dock at the bottom of your screen?
I like having only 4 apps in there and like the gap for the visual break it gives me. But its quite annoying that the last used app is automatically going in there.
Solved: Click on the home screen - settings - misc - last option (I think its called suggestions)

I'm having some issue wherein some apps just wouldn't start. They don't crash but it seems they just get force closed/killed immediately. I tried doing a MatLog but I'm not sure if the information is enough. I hope you can help solve the problem. Thank you!
Edit: Forgot to mention I only flashed Firmware, ROM, NikGApps, Magisk, and DFE

probably because your data partition is in f2fs, you need to format it to ext4 or wait for the next release

I'm on ext4. I reflashed everything I'll observe if it happens again. Seems like a problem with gms because after clearing data of Play Services, I can start those apps but it stops working again after some time.
Hi, Great ROM, but I found some issues:
- In Wallpapers and Styles section of settings there are many wallpaper palettes (in groups of 4 per page), but all palettes on one given page, when selected, look exactly the same as the first one (others are broken)
- Face Unlock activates on Screen On, even when set to "on swipe up"
- UDFS custom animations are misaligned
- Sometimes "UDFS when screen off" doesn't work even when it's enabled
- Clock in QS is cut off above size 22 dp
Hello everybody.
First of all congratulations for the work.
I have installed according to the guide ROM, NikGApps and DFE.
I have a problem, When I connect the device to the computer, the drive appears, but I can't access the internal memory.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I've been waiting a long time for the return of Crdroid! Thank you!

I have the same small problems, without a doubt once they fix that this will be my header rom, the amount of customization it has is incredible, also, I would like to have the option for the tiles to vibrate when touching them, after that, nothing more, all excellent, more optimization I suppose
@firebird11, very nice ROM. Great battery life. Using your build for 2 weeks now and didn't face any problems. Bedankt!

Thanks, but I know how to sideload... I'm not asking, but saying that sideloading doesn't work with newer builds. I've tested it with the first build and that worked right away.
Hello everyone, one question, does the rom have any important errors? I'm thinking of installing it but it's a headache to configure everything and copy my files and I wanted to ask those who have the rom installed
It would be nice if they updated the information here so that many of us are better informed than by Telegram
Thanks
