It seems that only a few users own this phone by now. Phone already got a rooting procedure here but no kernels or any mods so far. I create this thread for things to warm up! Will start some work on build.prop/tweaks this weekend

hey i also want to make rom for this. as i dont own it and cant find any source for stock rom
can you please get me system folder of your rom
here are steps how to
1. download any terminal emulator from market.
2. open emulator and type the command with proper spacing as given below
tar -c system/* >> sdcard/system.tar
This will copy all your /system folder to your SDcard with name System.tar
so upload it somewhere and give me a link to it... personal message me...

[MOD] Modded framework with a few AOSP icons & crt off
I modded the framework a bit.
Features:
- CRT off screen animation
- Accurate battery mod (You can see the exact percent)
- Changed wifi, signal, progress bar, sdcard scan, power menu and other icons to AOSP gingerbread..
- Wifi & Signal icons are white when you are not connected on wifi/3g network or you have background data disabled, but turn to green when you have background data enabled on 3g/wifi

since I don't have knowledge in modifying kernels, can anyone add more frequencies to stock kernel and oc frequencies as well?

There are some OC kernels in thread about Ace 2 rooting. I think page 4 or 5. But there are also some doubts about real effects of OC.

anyone knows how to change bootanimation on this phone?

I bought a usb jig and it works... When you plug it in, the phone enters download mode.

What do you mean by works? Does it reset a counter of custom kernel/ rom? Is this a way to have valid warranty?

The jig was originally meant for forcing the phone into download mode. In SGSII, the counter did reset too. Only in SGSII...

Please remove the brackets. This is the stock rom, I already re-flashed my fon w/ this, because I deleted too many things ^^.

but no chance to start it again. So, I don't have the status bar.

Heeelp! I copied the framework first and before i change the permissions it started force closing, so i tried to reboot the phone. It didn't open again, it only restars continuously since then!!
What to do???:crying:

The installation process wipes and replace only system files (and all tweaks you're applied manually to gingerrevenge)
Personal data and apps is retainend if you dont wipe it manually.
in any case make a backup before flashing

Doesn't work on my phone...
Made factory reset, cleaned cache, davlick.
Installed without error messages, but after boot animation it just stays on blinking "S" logo and screen sometimes flashes with white light. Tried to fix permissions and reinstall - result is the same.
Reverted back to Ginger revenge.
PS: CWM 6.0.1.2 non-touch

I've tested with CWM 6.0.1.9 and with TWRP 2.2.1 successfully.
starting also from a non clean base... maybe try to download again the zip file

Tried with TWRP 2.2.1 - same problem. But I fixed it by formatting internal SD card. Don't know what exactly was wrong with it...
So far everything works fine.
One little advice, change the starting message language to English (see screenshot).

I'll try to fix in eay that it startd with right language for every country.

Can you make odin package? because I want to instal modem too, because my wifi doesn't work.
I installed this rom from cwm recovery, but I think that only rom was installed, without modem etc.

The modem will never been changed by flashing a rom.

I used Safe Strap and I started 19:10- 19:21 start to finished Very Cool Boot animation and most of all i love the lock screen. Far out man
Edit 1.) I tryed the Debloat apps that you have on here and. It had not uninstalled them at this time. just FYI
Edit 2.) I just installed Wanam Installer and Xposed installer both working fine.

Can you use SuperSU to get the logs from "MatrixROM configuration" and send them to me? This is an issue that was the reason it took me so long to make the ROM, so seeing it not working is a real bummer

dirty is fine but if u have issues than try wiping

Load SU pro, go into matrixrom config, then do the thing you said was not working. After the reboot, go into SuperSU, then logs, then click the latest log (the one at the top) and send me what it says.

Yep.
Just need to push them to /system/vendor/overlay (create the directory if it isn't there) and reboot

Everything same as MIUI 7 but the animation of folder opening is very buggy. Ofcourse, the heating problem still persists!!!

I have resurrection remix 5.7.2 with TWRP on my phone. I had taken a back up of MIUI 6.x before switching to resurrection remix. If I install MIUI 8 now, will TWRP go away?

Nope if u install it as recovery ROM. But if u install it as fastboot, u are out of luck. TWRP will be gone for hell.

Sorry to bug you, but I had tried to flash a MIUI 8 zip file (cant recall from where I got the link). But I couldn't flash it from recovery. No problem. But first look at this :
For installing MiUi follow these steps :
1) Go to twrp, wipe cache, data, dalvik cache, system. And again reboot to recovery. It asks No OS installed, just reboot to recovery.
2)flash Rom.
3)wipe cache, dalvik cache, data.
4)Reboot to system. You are good to go.
MIUI is very different from other Roms. While other Roms take 2-3minutes of flashing , MIUI can take abt 15min I remember. So, just wait until it flashes.
It has nothing to do about your previous installed ROM. All the best :good:

Sorry my bad. Don't wipe data at end after installing MIUI. Just confused with other Roms. Wiping data deletes all preinstalled themes and you will be left only with the default one.

TWRP -> wipe data/cache/dalvik

Hi HenRy,
I followed the steps but for some reason when I record video in the native camera application, the recorded video audio is very low. Somehow the mic sensitivity is extremely low.
Any fix for that? the same thing happens with RR ROM. On stock MIUI video/audio was perfect and mic sensitivity was very good.

It s working fine here...big battery --Question : is it nightly or weekly ?

yes you can hide it now, but it still shows when you swipe up. i want it gone. a build prop edit that works in miui doesn't work either.

I keep getting error 7 when the log is verifying Xiaomi Lithium modem. Using TWRP and coming from Unofficial Lineage UBERTC ROM. I wiped data, cache, and dalvik. Is it possible to get a mirror on the DL link? I tried deleting and re-downloading the file. I also tried Hen Ry's tip above for refreshing "allow modifications" but still nothing.

I wiped the system also...all works fine
(BTW I use superSU not magisk)

I tried wiping system as well, still getting Error 7.

Add or modify the entry with the value of 1

Yes have same exact problem, I tried all the above and switched (TWRP Smarty and MRRaines) version to no avail, also down loaded ROM three different times after advised tick and untick no screen pops up.???
I have no problem flashing any other rom this is a first.

I have clean flashed this great Rom without any problem using TWRP Smarty and Super SU and latest GAPPS ( I ticked or unticked nothing)

NO issues..and double tap working..

Solution for "Error 7":
download last Miui.
Install it on twrp
download last Lineage
in twrp full wipe
install Lineage.
Solved.
