Can anyone verify this is safe and works. Thanks

DNS won't give you faster internet per se, if your phone gets the ip address of the website it's requesting back faster than your phone can start downloading the page maybe some miliseconds sooner, but that'd be the only benefit....
can anyone attach the zip here?
Don't have an facebook acc .-.
[Q] Is there a way to "force" desktop view in browser (rather than mobile view)?
Some websites show up as the mobile site, with no option to go to the full version.
http://www.newyorker.com is one. This is one of the main reason I bought the dang thing.
Any solutions that anybody knows of?
Thanks for any advice.
Later!
search and you will find wonderful things.
Maybe in the development forum there is something about this?
And if he searched and did not find anything, should he not post here?
type in your browser:
about:debug
hit enter
go into browser settings, debug, UAstring
then you can select android or desktop or iphone or ipad....the last two seem blasphemous tho..
and btw its not permanent.. if you restart or somehow close your browser you'll have to do it again.. I'm still looking for a permanent fix...

Well, it'd be hard not to, since there are 5 threads in the xom boards about it.
I gave him the answer either way.

Please forgive me if this has already been posted, or if it's regarded as common knowledge. I couldn't find mention of this anywhere in the S4 forums, so I figured that it might not be widely known.
I was reading a post about a hidden debug menu in the stock browser for a different device, so I thought I would try it in the S4, and it works!
Open the browser.
In the url bar, type chrome://debug
It should say "This web page is not available". Ignore that message, but don't close the tab.
Then press menu and tap settings. You will see a new menu item: Debug.
In there, you will see a hidden menu of settings including, most interestingly, an option 'UAString' which lets you change the user agent ID which tells websites what browser you are using. In other words, you can set your browser to tell websites that you're using a desktop, or an iPhone, or a tablet, etc. Other browsers, like Dolphin or Boat Browser, have this option. You can use it to avoid getting mobile versions of websites by default, or to access certain features on websites only available to iPhone users.
Once again, I apologise if this is old news. Let me know if it is
Hope it's helpful.

It worked just fine for me.
Thanks OP for the heads up, I'm not a browser superuser either
Does this just change that one tab for that one session, or does it have to be reset to normal afterwards?

Haha retried again on the "internet" browser and it worked this time lol

Galaxy Avant (think s4~5 lite) same thing. On my older froyo stock browser about:debug worked right away, this new semi chrome stock browser needs to have the tab open to work. Took a while to find this post. Thanks
So in an effort to get EMIT working on my Sprint Galaxy Note 5 I've obtained the MSL, entered ##DATA# (##3282#) to bring up the programming menu and have to no avail tried to locate the RTSP and HTTP proxy settings. I'm running Android Marshmallow. I have no interest in rooting the phone and am simply trying to get the applications that do not work with the Sprint proxy working.
Does anyone know what menus the RTSP and HTTP proxy settings are in now? Doing a search has pulled up a lot of out of date threads that reference menus which do not seem to exist anymore.
Thanks,
~ J
Someone told me that with marshmallow they took those settings out from the menu

Maybe we can bypass Sprints Proxy locations by editing these files.
