Hi, i have an Oukitel U8, a chinese phone launched last year, and currently it runs Android 5.1. I would like to know if somenone knows if there are costumized roms for this phone, like cyanogen mod that runs android 6.0, i have googled it but i haven´t find anything, i would apreciate some help.
I would like to know if you know how to overclock this, just because the CPU is limited at 988Mhz per core. (quad-core)
Thank you and sry for my bad english

Hi,
There is no device section for the U8 here. All I could find was the review thread:
Device Reviews and Information > OUKITEL U8 Universe Tap, Touch ID, Android 5.1, MTK6735, 5.5 Inch HD, 4G
You can try posting your query there or in Android Q&A,Help and Troubleshooting

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
I am going to use an analogy. Porting a ROM is like transplanting a kidney. The donor (base phone) and the recipient (phone to port to) must be very similar. Having a chipset in common is like having the same blood type. It's only a 1 of 6 match, and the recipient will undoubtedly reject the kidney no matter what. Which is why you bootlooped with ROM's that have only the chipset in common with your device. Luckily you are still getting to boot logos, a wrong ROM could overwrite your bootloader, or modem, and it'd be lights out, forever.
For a Huawei clone (that isn't really a clone, since it has a completely different chipset than the Huawei), there isn't much love for this device. As in you may be the first to ask about this device on this site.
My recommendation at this point, is to restore your stock backup (hopefully you made one). If not, you will need a stock ROM, and that will be like asking for a kidney. If this is the case, this is where to ask:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [Ask Any Question][Newbie Friendly]
Please note, you will need to register for an account to an XDA account to do this.
Once you are back on stock, you can look for a 4 of 6 match (or better) by looking at teardown websites and comparing the chips. The more chips in common the better. I don't imagine you will find anything usable, but one can dream until the possibility of someone creating native ROMs for the device. If you do find a device that fits the fill, and it has a custom ROM, be sure to fix the updater script to flash boot to the right partition.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Hey guys,
I recently bought the cheap, but pretty fast "Dragon Touch X10" from TabletExpress. However, I had some troubles with the Android 4.4 installed and I was thinking to give it a try with a custom ROM. I have to say, I have been reading here for some hours, but I am kind of lost. I realize that most of the tutorials here are speicifically adressing more well-known models like samsung etc.
I think, what I want is something like the "Kangapop", a ROM which is basically like the plain android stock version from google.
Can I find somewhere instructions of how to flash such an unknown model?
Unfortunately, I cannot post the link for this tablet as a new user... The brand is "TabletExpress" and the Model is Dragon Touch X10.
Thanks in advance!
Does anybody have at least a hint where I could read or learn to figure it out by myself? I am a bit overwhelmed with the information out there.
Thanks!

Hello dear,
ROMs is specific for every device model, that means that you can't use rom from other devices for yours. :/
Thank you

Hello people,
So I've been using this phone for quite some time(HTC desire 700 dual Sim) it's running on stock Android which is 4.1.2(it sucks, I know) I am not super good at phone and stuff but I am quite interested and I have already rooted this phone. The problem is that I cant find a custom recovery and custom rom (I would like any new ones, like android 6.0,which obviously will never make it officially into) so yes, I prefer 6.0 or similar ones... I would like to request you guys to help me in this. Would like detailed step to step instructions. I know my phone is stupid and I should replace it but atm I am not willing to buy anything since I have to pay rent. Thank you all. Sorry for my bad english.

Hi
I am new to ANdroid devcies as i only have Apple devices up till now, please bear with me. I just bough a Noza Tec Android table VII on kitkat 4.4.4 quadcore with 1GB RAM, this tablet was cheap and does not behave anything like a quadcore or 1GB RAM, it is very slow when using web browser and zooming in on anything is not smooth and does it in sections. I would like to try installing a custom ROM that would speed things up dramatically, as currently it is really poor.
Can anyone give advise on the best ROM for htis device and also if there is an installation guide as this is the first time i will be trying it and i dont want ot brick the tablet.
Any help appriciated. Thanks in advance

My smartphone is a Blu Life Pure Mini with mt6589t SoC.
I was reaserching ways to port and install a custom rom with Android Kitkat at least in it, because I want to be able to play Pokemon Go. (please, you must help me haha)
Anyway, I found that I need to update not only the rom, but yet to Root it, to update the Kernel and to install a kitkat compatbile custom Recovery. THEM, I will be able to port and install the rom in my phone.
As far as I know, Blu released a kikat update for Blu Life Play, that uses mt6589 SoC, but not for Blu Life Pure Mini (mt6589t ... is it compatible with a mt6589 rom without the T?).
I was able to install custom roms before in popular old phones like Samsumg Galaxy S and Ace, and a random Sony device before, but because everything was almost premade by some mercyfull souls arround the internet. The problem is that Blu Life Pure Mini is a not a very popular device, so nobody did that things to make my life easier yet.
Then I decided I could go arround and, maybe with a lot of help of cool guys of the android community, make it for this device and help other people that have it and can't update their phones.
So, what do I need?
- A mt6589t Kernel compatible with Android Kitkat or higher;
- A custom recovery. To make it faster and easier, I found a topic of a guy that did some work arround it in 2014, but I can't understand how to port it by myself very well in his post. And to do it his way, I must have the kernel that I can't find anywere.
His topic here in XDA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-port-custom-cwm-based-t2970004
- A root tutorial for Blu Life Pure mini. My googling habilities are failling on me, then maybe you could help me doing it faster and better. ><

Please, help me play pokemon go. i.i
Thanks!
