[Completed] Need help to update a mt6589T device to kitkat or higher - XDA Assist

My smartphone is a Blu Life Pure Mini with mt6589t SoC.
I was reaserching ways to port and install a custom rom with Android Kitkat at least in it, because I want to be able to play Pokemon Go. (please, you must help me haha)
Anyway, I found that I need to update not only the rom, but yet to Root it, to update the Kernel and to install a kitkat compatbile custom Recovery. THEM, I will be able to port and install the rom in my phone.
As far as I know, Blu released a kikat update for Blu Life Play, that uses mt6589 SoC, but not for Blu Life Pure Mini (mt6589t ... is it compatible with a mt6589 rom without the T?).
I was able to install custom roms before in popular old phones like Samsumg Galaxy S and Ace, and a random Sony device before, but because everything was almost premade by some mercyfull souls arround the internet. The problem is that Blu Life Pure Mini is a not a very popular device, so nobody did that things to make my life easier yet.
Then I decided I could go arround and, maybe with a lot of help of cool guys of the android community, make it for this device and help other people that have it and can't update their phones.
So, what do I need?
- A mt6589t Kernel compatible with Android Kitkat or higher;
- A custom recovery. To make it faster and easier, I found a topic of a guy that did some work arround it in 2014, but I can't understand how to port it by myself very well in his post. And to do it his way, I must have the kernel that I can't find anywere.
His topic here in XDA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-how-to-port-custom-cwm-based-t2970004
- A root tutorial for Blu Life Pure mini. My googling habilities are failling on me, then maybe you could help me doing it faster and better. ><

Please, help me play pokemon go. i.i
Thanks!

Porting a kernel.

Hello,
I am pretty sure this is a fairly common question and everyone would like to have kitkat on his device. I can use google to find out most of the tasks i am about to do, but i have to ask first.
I have a pretty anonymous device, a Chinese phone, rebranded in Europe. It features a hardware similar to this: mediatek MT6577
However the manufacturers only released a 4.0.4 ICS Android for it, and the comunity managed to develop a 4.2.2 JB. It is important to know that other manufacturers have rebranded this phone as well.
It is known as Allview p5 duo, Fly IQ441, Walter Primo G1(i think) and other brands.
What would i need to make a kitkat ROM image for this model? How hard is it to "port" a kernel that was in ICS to 4.4? What tools would i need, and also what knowledge?
I hope some dev sees this post, sheds some light over the issue and points me in the right direction. I really want to learn about Android OS developement and i feel this is the best way. Also i want kitkat on the phone.
Thank you !

developement
Thank you for your answer. I would also be interested in actual development as it is an area that interests me. What would i need to actually be developing parts of the Android OS. No dalvik parts related, only the OS / kernel parts. Do you guys know any good books on this?
Is there any full kernel source of mt6589? Gonna sell my device (Though I have HTC one)

[Completed] [Q] HTC desire 210 help custom roms

I have a HTC desire 210 dual phone, with the help of another thread i was able to root and install cwm but i am unable to find any compatible custom roms. What do i do? should i create my own roms? if so then how? I have a rooted device i dont know what all i can do when its not compatible with cynogen or miui.
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist The reason for lack of development for this device is its Processor . No Developer is interested in MTK based Devices because of their limited sources and lot of mess in it .. Hence Development for those devices is really very very less .. these SOC are prone to lot of issues hence do not try anything without having knowledge over it else your will brick your device
ok
i downloaded xposed framework and im customising that way. i guess my next phone would be an andriod

[Completed] Kyocera Hydro Vibe Rom Question

I would like to install something like cyanogenmod on my phone. There are no builds specifically for any kyocera phones that I can see. I was wondering if I could use an image built for another phone so long as it ran the same version (4.4.2), build (kvt49l), and kernel (3.4.x)
The phone was easy enough to root, but would like some of the benefits of an aftermarket os.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi!
First...no, you can't use a rom not made for your specific device. Not without a very high risk of bricking your device. Definitely not a wise idea.
I found a thread on rooting, http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/root-guide-kyocera-hydro-vibe-t2831228
But no roms for your device on XDA that I can find. Feel free to ask here if you want though....

[Completed] Custom ROM installation setup

Hi
I am new to ANdroid devcies as i only have Apple devices up till now, please bear with me. I just bough a Noza Tec Android table VII on kitkat 4.4.4 quadcore with 1GB RAM, this tablet was cheap and does not behave anything like a quadcore or 1GB RAM, it is very slow when using web browser and zooming in on anything is not smooth and does it in sections. I would like to try installing a custom ROM that would speed things up dramatically, as currently it is really poor.
Can anyone give advise on the best ROM for htis device and also if there is an installation guide as this is the first time i will be trying it and i dont want ot brick the tablet.
Any help appriciated. Thanks in advance

CM 12 for ZTE Blade L3 wanted

Hello,
first of all please be patience of my bad english.
I´ve got a ZTE Blade L3 which was bricked. Now before we´ve got a backup of the original ROM I had to port my own ROM from another Device´s custom rom.
I am really disappointed that there is no CM available. I´ve tried to port my ROM to CM. The first one get Stuck at rebooting.
Now it seems that there is smth. working in the backround while booting. It´s going to hang up in the bootloop.
It would be great if there is anybody out there who could help me creating a working CM for the ZTE Blade L3.
Thanks a lot.
Regards from Germany.

Update Blade L3
hey hey, i've read that you look 4 a new update, i search too and finde this "rom-mod.com/howt-to/zte-blade-l3.html" [Link down]
I dont tested it, i'm too scary, maybe one with experiance can do it or have done it allready? I really wanne have Android 6 it have a lot of Positiv things ... hope someone can help us
Hi,
I'm really interested in the development in a custom ROM. I'm not sure if we can get a system running without the kernel from ZTE. Of course, people from other countries might have the KitKat kernel, which has been open-sourced by ZTE (just search for open-source-notice ZTE, it's the top result). I don't have much expierence with developing for android though, but I think it's very exciting.
Another user on this forum posted quite some posts how to build your custom rom for Mediatek from source. I'm not sure if you're able to use a prebuilt kernel.
Also, I can't access the link Nippilein sent. It redirects me to an unavailable site.
If someone has any information regarding this topic, please let me know!
